Expandable storage limit - Ascend Mate 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know what's the expandable storage limit on the 16GB version?
Some specs shows 32GB and other 64GB, so I am really confused.

Or is it a wrong type of memory card or Galaxy S won't support 32GB?
I have a Kingston Class 10 SDHC with 32GB and it works very well in my I9000
of course! I have got a Samsung 32gb class 10 SDHC and all is ok!

try buying a 32 gb with a class 10. it has the best speed and if you want to transfer big files and run them, like an hd movie or just using your phone like an storage device, you will feel the difference
How about this one?

i use fastest sandisk cards. they are a bit pricey, but there is nothing more annoying that having to wait while copying stuff onto the device.

Yes.
In the video in the link the card is shown working in the S2, but goto 2.20.

Yeah sure, this galaxy (newer batch with hardware fixes) even supports 64GB cards as well

The 64GB microsdxc card will work fine in the S1.
I don't know if anyone else has run into this issue and whether it's just an isolated issue between my SGS and the card I use (Sandisk 32gb Class 4) but I have noticed that I can't access the card from recovery mode (Clockwork touch recovery that came with latest Devil Kernel, I think it was dated june 18) and if I take the card out while the phone is running, it has trouble re-mounting the card when I put it back.
Has anyone else observed something like this?
My phone runs AOKP b40 with the aforementioned Devil Kernel, in case that makes any difference...
Unrelatedly, I'm also looking for a way to exclude folders from android's media library (there's a folder on my card with a lot of small audio files from nav software that clutter up the library and I'd like to get rid of that without having to delete or rename the folder, so I'm pretty much open for suggestions)

I am using purumod. V3 at the moment
I am facing a problem--->
SD card takes too much time to read in beginning. Almost 7-8 minutes
Gingerbread used to be superfast

Dang still no adoptive storage

I was hoping they would of added that with 7.0
I'm just happy we got the AOD upgrade to the one Samsung had on the Note 7's

If you restore to 6.0.1 u can setup adoptable storage with AND and update back to 7.0 and still have adoptable storage working. Working great for me.

I "think" it's when you can format the external sdcard a certain way to let the phone use it as internal storage... And install apps directly to the sdcard (?)
Maybe someone else can clarify for us both...?

Really? The last 7.0 beta let me use adoptable storage, I don't know why they would have taken it away in the official. Guess I'll have to double check when I do a clean install
Any instructions?

It does, you need to use the switch in : settings >advanced to turn usb-otg on, disables automatically after 10 min inactive.

Thanks for the information
Sorry to hijack the thread, but this is somewhat relevant: has anyone tried to connect a Samsung T3/T5 SSD? I'm curious whether they are compatible with the connector on the OP6.

I'm not sure abt samsung ssd. I have tried g drive 1tb ssd and it works.
I've instal Oos with OTG adapter type C to USB 3.1 With a memory stick on it. Twice.
Fully works. I use a flash drive with OnePlus official OTG adapter for all my Titanium Backup & TWRP backups as well as stock ROM zips and other flashable files. Since OP devices don't have SD card slots its kind of the only option for external storage..

Yes I used a 3in1 with sd card and it worked

Storage Space

I'm giving the Pixel 3a serious thought. I'm wondering about the available storage. Can someone tell me how storage space is available on first boot, before installing anything?

1.1gb is taken for system.
15gb is taken for system apps.
However everyone believes this is an error and should say 16gb for system instead of apps.

Just noticed its been corrected in the update. Now says 11gb for system.

available storage space is 50gb, on both P and Q.
After I have installed all my personal apps I use I have 42 GB of free space left. Together with cloud space it is more than enough for me.
Thanks for the answers. Looks like I'll be headed to Bestbuy soon.
