Bluetooth Pitch and Static Issue Discovery..... - General Topics

Hey guys,
It appears that several devices are experiencing a Bluetooth music pitch and static issue. I've been researching this issue and it appears to actually have nothing to do with WiFi or Bluetooth modes, but, a Bluetooth chipset incompatibility across the board including on Android, Windows, and Apple IOS devices. It can be corrected through both ROM and firmware updates in the future. With the devices, the issue might actually be partially with the OS Kernel on several portable (phone/tablet/etc.) devices since 2012. It affects Bluetooth devices that use a very common Broadcom/VIDCOMM chipset that has not changed much since 2008. This chipset can be found in several to multiple computers and audio systems, including most car audio systems, and, especially those running Windows portable. For Android developers, watch those kernels and keep Bluetooth in mind. Also, everyone with this issue should check with their Bluetooth receiving audio system/device manufacturer as well for firmware updates to those devices.
Thought I'd share this info with a few that are still having the issue. I have an LG Optimus L90 D415 that is experiencing this issue with the stock ROM (rooted), however, I experience it a little less with a custom ROM. The only reason I'm stuck on the stock ROM is due to the ability to move apps to SD. The best custom ROM for this phone so far does not have that option to move the apps. My vehicle uses a factory integration iSimple Connect that apparently uses one of the affected chipsets and am waiting for a good solution from them also.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit and an older LG Optimus One T509 (both rooted and custom ROMS) that at which neither appear to have the issue at all as well, so, it appears to only affect certain phone Bluetooth chipsets.
Anyway, I hope this helps some people experiencing the issue. If anyone knows of a good solution or app to help with this, please chime in. I've tried several apps with no luck just to let you know.
Thank you,
Starflare5.

[Q] Factors affecting bluetooth

So I've made a couple posts about my problems with bluetooth audio streaming, but I have a bit of a different question this time. I have been trying a multitude of AOSP roms (4.1, 4.2, and 4.3) trying to get my bluetooth audio to work properly. I have had no luck, the audio is super choppy and distorted.
Recently I tired the Eclipse 5.1 ROM which another user told me specifically his bluetooth audio streaming was fine (on the same model phone!). I did a 100% clean install, I wiped everything, including internal & external storage. I tried fixing permissions (which he said he did to get it to work), and nothing. I still get choppy audio over BT. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? What is there beyond the ROM that would affect BT?? I even tried CM 10, which is 4.1 (a version with the old BT stack implemented) and still got choppy audio!! The only thing that seems to work for me is TouchWiz roms.
One thing I notice, and I'm not sure this affects anything, is when I boot into download mode in the binaries line it says "(3 count)"
If anyone has any light to shed on this it would be awesome!
Thanks so much.

Bad performance with bluetooth stereo headset

I get extremely bad performance (bad, choppy fps, stuttering sound) when I have my bluetooth headset paired to the Shield while running stuff like retroarch. Is this an Android issue with bluetooth sound devices or something I'm missing with the settings? The moment I disable passing audio to my headset, everything runs normally again.
My bluetooth headphones did cause my android to crash once reboot (once so far), but other than that they have worked fine. There might be an underlying undiscovered bluetooth audio bug. Hopefully some more folks will chime in here.

Music, movies, stuff that don't stress the hardware seem to work ok. Its when I run emulators like retroarch (or probably anything that makes the Shield work harder) that gives me performance issues. Anyway, I think this is a known android issue since an admin in the retroarch forums confirmed the same thing, as well as some members in the geforce.com shield board. I did notice that this isn't an issue when I tried my headphones on my sister's nexus 7 2013 tablet, which is running android 4.4.2. Maybe kitkat addresses this (but I think I've been seeing bluetooth fixes in changelogs for multiple android firmwares now so I don't know)?

[Q] Bluetooh , phonebook and controls etc.

Having had a good search my brains fried, it seems some people have this issue others dont. dependant entirely it would seem on the version of android you're running..
Essentially i can hear my phonecall in my car, but the phonebook wont transferr, and I can't control calls.. so can't hang up etc without using the phone(not legal).
this thread shows many are having the same issue, code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=63010
It also shows some versions of CM work okay..
I'm using the latest omnirom and would like to keep it as I'm happy with it and have used good software from the developers.
I've tried to search, but its messy, Has anyone found a solution? are there settings in omnirom I can change to get this working?
thanks.
Each car seems to react differently to bluetooth controls, which are you trying to interface with?

Its an astra j. I'm not sure which radio model.
If I make a phone call within the first few seconds then phone book appears. But I'm constantly getting in and out the car for work so that's not feasible.

Sounds like it's not authenticating itself regularly but I lack in experience with such issues, hopefully someone else can chime in. I do know that these types of issues can be quite common with various bluetooth devices and vehicles though.

OPO compatibility issues with Ford Sync systems

As I am writing this in July 2016, almost 2 years after I initially got the OPO, I would say that this phone, although decent for the price, has been more of a hassle than a smooth operator (see what I did there ). Anyways, after searching through xda, other forums and general googling, I can't fine a solution to this issue; hence I am looking for some answers here. Also, I wonder how many others there are with an OPO and a Ford equipped with the Sync systems.
What's the issue?
OPO does not stay connected to the Ford Sync bluetooth system.
Background:
Ever since we got the lollipop update (now on the latest one), the phone has been very sketchy when it comes to Bluetooth connection, particularly with the sync system. It will pair and connect just fine, but when you go to do something real with it (like stream any kind of media), the connection is instantly drops. Phone calls may or may-not work, depending on how the OPO is feeling that day.
The weird part is that it displays similar behavior with a bose speaker and a generic speaker, but is perfectly fine with the Hyundai Elantra bluetooth system. Also, I have tested the OPO with many different ROMs with the same results. The Galaxy s4 and s6edge I tested work perfectly with the sync system.
Now, kind people, please share what you have experienced with the bluetooth performance of your phone, especially when connecting it to the ford Sync system.
Did you have the same issue? How did you fix it?

No "Media Audio" option when connected to my car by bluetooth

Hi All,
I'm having trouble with Bluetooth on my v10. I've looked through the forums but haven't seen any people with an issue quite like mine.
My car is a Hyundai and the radio was updated to the latest software about 6 months ago. The phone will pair fine and works perfectly for phone calls but I can't get it to play audio over bluetooth. In the bluetooth menu the "Media Option" check box is not visible at all. The particularly weird part is that while the audio still comes out of the phone the rest of the bluetooth features will work, I can change the song with the radio controls and the Artist/Title are displayed on the radio.
It works great with my soundbar, alarm clock, portable speaker, and my moms Dodge truck. That would lead me to believe it's the car however I never had any issues with my gs5 for a year and a half. I tried it with two different iphones and my roommates G4 and all of them worked perfectly.
My phone is an h900 on 5.1.1 rooted(had the same issue before root).
I'm at a loss here. Any ideas? Thanks.
I have a bug report w/ google on this. Please take a look and chime in to get them to fix this. https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=221322&thanks=221322&ts=1472583426
Im going to guess you have a 2011 to 2013 hyundai right? Probably with navi?
So google is blaming samsung of course so I have an email into them. Their chat was useless.
Your device is using Samsung's heavily customised version of Android which this website has no visibility of so cannot support. You need to speak to Samsung for user support and issues with their devices and their software. Thanks.
