Foremost, let us all acknowledge Koushik for his brilliant "Sensors" library upon which most if not all non-HTC apps that use the G-Sensor, Light-Sensor, and Navi-Sensor are built, simply ingenious. Moreover, I would like to recognize No2chem for the NeuLed2 library which is an equally exquisite peace of code that allows access to the Diamond/Pro Leds. Without those two guys, accessing these advance interfaces on the diamond/pro would be inapproachable at best.
Reason: HTC gave these phones lots of sensors, lets give them.."Sense".
......... EXTRA-Sense ...........
* Hopefully an innovaton, though mostly an integration of RANDOM but needful features...
Features:
1. Courtesy Profiles:
- Set Volume Profiles to activate on Face-Down & Face-UP events. Choose from: None, Silent, Normal, and Vibrate. You can also choose to suspend the Phone when its facing down.
2. Notifications-Sense:
- IF there is/are any outstanding notification(s), the device will vibrate whenever you move it - at customizable intervals: Missed Call(s), Voice Mail, and SMS.
3. Stylus-Sense:- When the Stylus is in/out: Will play sound + Blink the Back button's light.
- When the Stylus is out and the device is moved: Device will vibrate faintly + blink the Back button's light to REMIND you that the Stylus has not been placed back in. This goes on UNTIL the Stylus is placed where it should be.
* Uses "in.wav" & "out.wav" files in the \XSense\ Dir; you can use whatever wave files for this. OR, use the UI to select whichever wave files you want!
4. General Settings:
- Polling Interval: From 200 to 3000 Miliseconds. This determines the rate at which the G-Sensor is polled. Lower values give higher response times and fluid operation at the cost of battery life & CPU utilization.
- Flash Navi Lights: Will blink button lights to notify you of Profile changes and Stylus In/Out.
- Vibrate on Events: Will induce very subtle vibrations to notify you of Notifications and Profile changes.
- Suspend when UP-Side-Down: ???
- Light Navi Button When Suspended: Will do just that when the Light Sensor senses Dim or Dark conditions. This is an independent setting that turns ON the Navi button's light at suspend time, and OFF at Resume time (this is Event Driven, so no polling is involved). This feature really helps if, like me, you want to see where the damn thing is in the dark - before you launch it against the floor.
5. Installs to "\Program Files\XSense", and Creates 2 shortcuts:
"Start Menu\Programs\XSense" and "Startup\XSenseSvc".
Program Settings are saved to the Registry at "HKCU\Software\XSense\".
Use of System Resources:
1. Diskspace: 162 KB RAM footprint: 374-535 KB Battery: NOT observed.
2. CPU Usage: %0.29 Average. Spikes for 2 seconds to %2.7 - %8.5.
3. Battery Impact: Neligeable if at all!
* Indicated CPU usage occurs ONLY when there is an EVENT (posture changed, stylus in/out Sounds playing,
etc)
- Vibration: The way I like it is in waves of 200 miliseconds length! I generally hate vibrations, so if you want it at 201 ms. you're welcome to make your own program and exercise your personal taste.
- This prgram Registers Event Handlers for: "G-Sensor", "Incoming Call", "Phone Call in Progress", "Stylus in/out", and Power Manager events. DO NOT move it to Internal Storage, you have been warned.
Requirements:
.NET 3.5 + HTC device with GSensor & Light Sensor.
Compatibility:
Specifically designed for Diamond & Raphael, but will work fine on HD/Rhodium/Topaz/HD2 etc...
Bugs/Limitations:
Knock yourself out...
Release Notes:
- This is the LAST revision/release/app I make; programming too much work
- Download & Install the CAB
- Run the XSense from your Start Menu\Programs, customize to taste, and enjoy!
Change Log:
- Brand New UI: VERY "finger friendly" this should be especially useful if you have a WVGA Device
i.e. HD/Rhodium/Topaz/HD2 etc...
- Revised entire code for existing & potential bugs, and Performance
tweaked to death.
- Removed various functions (auto speakerphone, car-kit options, etc...). Use "Touch InCall Screen Tweak" for these,
its handles Phone/Speaker brilliantly!
- Shortcut added to Startup for automatic launch after reboot.
- Shortcut with a nice icon added to Start Menu (Credit to VetVito).
- General Tab:
- Navi Button will only light up if the device is in a dark place, i.e. You will
always see where your phone is (before you trash it against the wall).
- Stylus Tab:
- UI elements to select & set sounds for Stylus-in/out events.

of what? my profile switching to silent on face down? The UI is fantastic and finger friendly: big elements, animation, colors, etc... take my word for it...
Doing something wrong?
I tried the program, but the only part working fo me (Topaz WM 6.5 Infido ROM) was stylus in/out, producing the appropriate sound. Everything else was not (shifting profile ans so on...). What I am supposed to do besides going through the settings and load the program (red arrow)?

Change the polling down, i have set mine to 1500, gives better response time but at the cost of a tiny bit more battery. everything tht should work does work on my topaz..thanks for the app

Thank you dear, glad you enjoy it
I like it, thanks. On my TD2 I can still see the tabpage1,tabpage2 on the bottom however (tbh im happy with that, makes the program much faster to set-up) and even though I just installed v1.2 it still says v1.1 in the about page.
i like the program, especially the options like suspending on upside down. I do have the feeling it puts a bigger drain on my battery, but that also might be my 6.5.3 ROM.
I do hope that you keep on updating the application, adding more options and perhaps tweak it a little bit performance and battery wise -- if possible.
For version 1.3, I hope you can add the option to disable the sound when moving the stylus in and out of the phone. And to answer your question; yes I am too lazy to make an empty .WAV file.
Also, do you think that disabling certain options will make an impact on (CPU-)resources the program uses?
Thank you very much for making this app, tbh Im kinda surprised it doesn't get a lot of attention (considering last post is already the 11th of January). I find your app adding features to my TD2 which it should have by default and that I find extremely useful. I hope you keep on expanding options and features to your app, and that your v1.2-'FINAL' version is in fact not the last update of this program
Basically; please keep on developing.
Thanks Great APP
I meant this ScreenShot:
Love it, love it, love it !!!!!!!!
Hello, I want to introduce the Hold Screen ON app.
Bring a little bit of SGSIII opportunities to your phone
This application act as service and use front camera of your phone for human face detection. When the face is detected, the application will prevent the locking of phone's screen. Just keep the screen on while you are looking on it.
Key features:
This application uses your phone's camera only during the face scanning. By default, it is 3 frame every 5 seconds. Between these intervals, you can run any other application which can lock up and use the camera.
If your front camera have low resolution or small viewing angle, you can use eyes detection instead of face detection. Or all toghether.
The app can detect the phone rotation and respectively rotate image.
This is a Lite version. Therefore, application service's activity will be stopped after 10 minutes of continuous operation. Just restart the service, when it happens.
Requirements:
Android 2.3+ device with frontal camera
Download link:
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kkeyser.android.eyebuddy.demo
And the last:
I myself am the owner of the Note and often use my application. I think many will be interested in it. Of course, I am pleased to hear all your suggestions and comments
I used a similar app called ISeeYou and to be honest it didnt work so well for me,
Does this one work perfectly ? Dont want to be buying apps that dont do the job
Just try it and decide I post link to the free version. Unlike the ISeeYou, I use opencv library with face and eyes detections cascades. The benefits is a eyes detections (in addition to face detection). Disadvantages is apk size - now about 4 MB.
Update:
Version 1.27 is released.
New features and fixes:
Application binding: now you can describe app behaviour on all or one apps running.
Minor and major bug fixed
Hi trying the app now. It does not work in low light condition on the Note.
Any suggestions
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
how is the battery usage with it?
Sorry, but in low light conditions any face detections app is lost. I try to improve detection algorhytms, but it can take some time.
About battery drain - mostly depends on scan interval. When screen goes off, the worker thread stops - run only when screen on (depends on app binding rules).

Normally, to use the better quality and higher resolution camera on the back of your phone to take selfies requires a lot guesswork as you cannot see front screen of your camera
You also need to clumsily click the screen to take the actual photo.
Smart selfie can identify one or multiple faces, then direct the user to move the phone position so that is is in the optimal position. It will then automatically take the photo once your camera is in position.
Another great advantage is not all android smart phones have a front camera so this app would be perfect for owners of such phones to take selfies.
Current selfie apps in the android market simply switch to the lower quality front camera as a default or they might have features that will take photos when your whistle or provide voice commands. This is a rather cumbersome way to take selfies. Some may have a library of cool photos filters and effects, but these do not actually assist in taking the actual photos.
At the time of writing ICS (4.0) is required for full functionality. With 4.0 you can automatically take photos and share them online via social networking sites or pass the photo to other apps for further enhancements.
The core functions will run at 3.2 or higher. The app will lack the ability to share photos if your OS is less than 4.0
For those running and OS between 2.2 and 3.1. You will get the full facial detection and voice guidance feature, however the photo must be taken manually once the camera is in position. (This may be changed in the future.)
Limitations of this version:
*5MP max image taken on back Camera (if your phone is capable of higher resolutions photos will be taken at 5MP)
*Detect Up to 4 people.
Requirements
Min Requirements CPU: 800mhz OS: 2.3+
Recommended Requirements CPU:Quad Core 1Ghz+ OS: 4.0+
Other Requirements: You device needs to have a back camera!!!!!!
///////////////////////////////////////////////
That aside at the moment the UI is a train-wreck, the core functionality seems to work well. Feel free to download the app, take a few selfies and provide feedback to see how it works on different devices.
In additional i would like you know how you feel about:
1) The voice guidance quality? This was taken from several recordings done on an android phone in relatively noisy conditions, I had all sort of background noises like light aeroplanes, garbage trucks, bird tweeting, clothes dryer, strong wind, traffic, and some paper rustling.
2) Do you think it app takes too long to take a selfie?
3) The limitations are they ok? This app allows better quality selfies even on new devices like Samsung galaxy 5, which sports a 2MP front camera.
4) Any other feedback/comments/tips?
Smart selfie Free is available on the google play store the package is

+1
It did say "say cheese" and I got a picture, but no click, no "how lovely!" or other indication.
This thing is really ingenious, quite nifty, and did work even on my 600mhz single-core-clunker. Voice instructions were on the quiet side (could explain why some users missed them).
The UI could be more modern, but so simple and adequate as-is. But do make it persistent. And the option, at least, to automatically find the up-to four faces without need to ask, might be nice as well.
Selfies with only a rear camera? Got it :good:
You got a very interesting app. But it needs some pruning though. Can you put it in video mode, and user just angles the phone for a selfie, and your app takes a snap automatically when the faces are focussed. Since its a selfie, you know that the face has to be like 30% to 70% of screen area. User opens app, points the back camera at themselves, and tilts the phone in a few angles. You select the best shot automatically. Its just an idea. You would know better
additional suggestions,
apart from wat these people are saying as a suggestions, i have some of my own. but i tried this app and i find this great..only 2 aditional things:
voice guidance should be louder..and (if possible), have proper diction. i have trouble recognizing the voice guide on my phone because volume is a bit low. i tried to use an earphone while testing to take a selfie..and i had trouble when the command says "left" because the female voice's diction sounds like "lift". atleast put an option to adjust voice guide volume..or let it be controllable with volume buttons (you know which of the 2 is the best).
This app does ake decent shots after guiding you. But, please add adequate lighting sensor, or at least the ability for the voice guide to tell you to turn on flash if the lighting condition is low..something like that. i hope you get the idea.
that's all..this is an innovtive app..but as always, there's always room for improvement.
Awesome App
This app is awesome. It even works on 600 MHz phone. And selfies are great. But there should be a click sound to notify user that the picture has been taken. and moreover there should be option to delete the pic directly. Good job @hotspot_volcano :good:
Hope to see changes in next version.
Kill it! Kill it with fire!
Thanks for the feedback from starcallr and Dovidhalevi. I've implemented some of them.
Just released v1.08 after having a lot of fun getting Android v23 installed, took several hours installing and uninstalling after that to get things to compile once i figured out the missing files.
Anyway from the feedback I've made some changes.
*New detection feature: Added Face Zoom (Allows close-up, or further-away selfies.)
*Ability to change volume more easily.
*All settings remembered from previous session.
*Popup reminder showing settings shown at the start of each photo session.
*More audible photo capture sound. (The click is 10X louder now.) But I might replace the audio click with some voice prompt so it would be 3X louder still without sounding out-of place.
#to do list (over the next week)
*Unified settings. All settings appear together in one Alert Dialog. (15% done) Attached a quick layout.. tell me what you think.
*Flash available for low lighting (as for detection it may need a low light facial detection feature which may i may only put in the paid version)
*A delete feature to delete the just taken photo.
*Auto-detect orientation (25% done)
*Fix up app crash after you have successfully taken a photo on your default camera app when you try and return to Smart Selfie on Android OS 2.2 - 3.1
#planned tidbits (over then next year)
*5 or so detection features(paid version probably), most of these will need OpenCV. (The very first version of this app was in OpenCV + NDK)
*Augment Reality features, maybe hats, sunglasses, hair and stuff that would be visible on the screen and automatically placed on detected faces, and would appear in the final photo when taken
=============================
I have tested earlier versions in public places it and the audio is already boosted up ~15db on average. I did have a silly idea of a vibrate morse code which could be used in extremely noisy places. Something like a short + short vibrate for left, short + long vibrate for right. The vibrate wont affect detection as won't be detecting when the vibrations are occurring. But not going to give it a go for now. Flashlight style Flash to give directions might also work, if it doesn't give people epilepsy.
Use of a Bluetooth headset might also be possible for very noisy places.
The UI is old fashion, i've been away from Android a while so Holo Light is giving me serious grief. Thinking about using Action Bar to replace the missing menu and avoid the LGPLv3 HoloEverywhere library. When i do set minimum APK.. the layouts go half sized. Anyway I'd like to concentrate on features at this stage.
There are apps like mine on Windows phone and IOS and I'd like to be the most comprehensive selfie app out there.
As for not requiring to input the right amount of people at the start. The app at the moment will center the detected faces the ask the user to move the camera away to a certain point in hope that the missing people will appear in the screen eventually? If they don't then you get stuck in a loop. But i will consider an auto (at your own risk setting)
WAY better than the previous version/
Amazing App!!
Amazing app!! Lovin it so much!! but ui need to be updated.. Other than that it's a great app for selfie!!!! Really a great job!! @hotspot_volcano

Thanks guys the next version is going to be much better. I'm actually quite excited about the next version.
Having spent more time thinking about what to put in the next version, it will have:
*Beginners/Casual Mode (Balance Sensitivity). If you don't mind your face not being perfectly centered in the photo. You can take photos quickly with little hassle. Detected faces will always appear within the photo with no parts cropped off at the side or top of the photo no matter what setting sensitivity is selected.
You can crank it up or down depending on your selfie taking skills and you/your groups patience in taking the perfect selfie.
*A slight change to the voice guidance algorithm. Hopefully this will stop the left right loop if you start with the phone too close to your face. For best results at the moment always start with the phone about 1/2 meter from your face.
*Fix any settings that don't appear to be saved properly. (I'm getting some issues with Preview Size changes sometimes not saving as expected?)
*Delete photo feature option. (Complete, but just don't ask when Windows 7 RTPing you see the deleted ghost files on 4.4 builds?)
*Unified settings. (getting there)
*Increased volume? Most recordings was set to 90% loudness. I'll experimental with increasing them to 100%. Anyway for noisy places I highly recommended using a portable Bluetooth speaker ones that are small enough to be slipped into your pocket.
My flagship test device is the Moto G which is one of the loudest android phones in the market. With speakers pumping out ~87 dB. Most of the commands was fairly audible even in packed and noisy food-court using the default speakers found on back of the phone.
Thanks for the great feedback guys.. Made a few changes in the most recent update. Plus a few more sites decided to showcase my app taking my app over 1000 downloads, and getting myself a small amount of people to test my app to make sure it works and all.
I'm planning a media launch soon as the app is nearly getting there. Have to rewrite my promotional material which was based on the very first version.
The paid version is no where is sight. The free version features that need to be sorted and taking up a lot of time.
The next update is going to be fairly exciting. These are the planned changes.
*An amazing useability feature that makes taking selfies even easier. It will be available on the free version because it would be probably make the free version cripple-wear if i just added it to the paid version.
*Auto-detect orientation (Yes this got pushed back.. working on it)
*Flash available for low lighting (Yes this got pushed back.. working on it)
*Attempt to fix submitted bug reports.
*UI (Holo light UI - no guarantees which means probably not :silly
*Continue to update the website so people can just use google translate to read the HELP and TUTORIAL notes in their preferred language.

binu.udaya;54334510. Can you put it in video mode said:
I'm not too familiar with the hardware side of android as far as video mode is concerned, but i was always under the impression you would get lower resolutions under video mode. Moving the camera while taking a photo will cause motion blur.
Well there are already apps out there that do this.I though they just took 3 shots in quick succession. I could probably add such a feature, but i think the photo is pretty accurate. Especially on the higher settings of Face Balance.
Just to give you idea how accurate the balance is. Just say are taking a portrait photo. Your 4.5" screen displays has a preview image that is 5cm across on the screen. If the gap between the face and the left-side of the picture is 1.5cm then the right-hand side gap between the face and the right-side of the picture can not have a difference more than 0.225cm.
I don't know how many people can get a selfie balanced to 1/4 of a cm by looking at their screen. I'm more surprised if they can get that accuracy without looking it and not get any voice guidance.
FYI the v1.08 fixed settings would have required a difference less than 0.3cm based on the above criteria. So if you managed to get a few snaps off at on the v1.08 thats how well balanced your photos are.
That is why i added the Balance sensitivity, the crazy accuracy is not required in all situations. Takes a few dozen shots before you built up the experience to take photos at that level.

1.1.3 is an amazing new update!!!!!! Manage to squeeze in a bunch of features.
Finally manage to roll out the amazing useability feature Measure. Which provides a size of the movement in addition to the direction. Unfortunately i didn't really have to the time to extend the feature to up and down.
*Presets now available. Pick and choose different presets such as using a selfie stick; propping your camera against say a book then you walk away, photos are taken automatically when your in position; taking photos from different angles such as the Baby face selfie where the camera angle gives the illusion of bigger eyes.
*Eyeliner. Allows the vertical alignment of eyes in your photo. Gives a much larger variety of selfies you can take now.
*Voice Guidance speed is now adjustable. Set it faster if your more experience in using the app or lower if your new or English is not your first language.
*Website updated. All help information is available online and translatable into your preferred language. Link added to Playstore and accessible in app.
Whats in the next version?
*Crash bug fixed hopefully. Be focusing on why there are crashes when photos are taken. Made several changes already.
*Continue to work on Measure (UP,DOWN).. will also look at Measure( closer and away)
*Pickable Photo capture resolution.
*Pickable white Balance Mode (Maybe)
*Holo Light GUI (I'll take a look.. lol)
If you haven't already please try out Smart Selfie v1.1.3 and tell me what you think now?
v 1.14 took a bit longer than my general 7 day for an update but its finally here. Holo-Layout. Some people have been asking for it since v1.03
Forcing low resolution setting on high resolution devices was a MAJOR HEADACHE. Its still has a minor bug with half-sized screen randomly appearing but that's been around since v1.03. While i just moved to Holo layout, I don't want to know anything about Android L.
Lets take a look at our planned updates for v1.1.4 and what was done.
*Continue to work on Measure (UP,DOWN).. Measure Closer and Away (No plans for now)
*Pickable Photo capture resolution.
*Holo Light GUI (I'll take a look.. lol) - Seems Action tool bar works well for all versions of supported android.
*Crash bug fixed hopefully. Be focusing on why there are crashes when photos are taken. Made several changes already. Unfortunately once i started the UI I stopped working on crash fixes so more to come.
v 1.1.5 planned features
*Pickable white Balance Mode (soon i hope)
*A Custom Share Intent. Will be better than the stock one which may have problems with setting a default ShareIntent.
*Revisit and review code that may cause crashing when taking photos.
*In-app volume that does not change your current volume setting (ie not get blasted by the noise from other apps you run after smart selfie)
*General house-tidying of text strings in the app. One step towards the NOT planned in-app multi-language support.
*Creation of shared libraries. So that the paid version can re-branched.
*Small fixes to the UI where deemed necessary.
*Some sort of auto-orientation feature.
EDIT: Managed to get my hands on a LG P500 512 MB RAM, 3.2MP, 600mhz. Updated the rom to 4.04 onto it. Manage to take a photo without crashing though it took a while to show the photo.
The background wallpaper kind of leaks through into the app but i think its just the Rom.
If anyone have a device with 256mb ram try testing it and see if it causes any crashing (due to the lack of memory)
Game Launcher
Hyperlapse
Motion panorama
Quick Call
Bye-Bye-App-drawer
New Edge UI
Always On Display
Motion Panorama.
too many to list. but I guess off the top of my head:
the display:
literally the best consumer display in the world with virtually perfect professional reference level color fidelity, paper-like clarity with no diagonal edge bias (due to innovative proprietary diamond subpixel arrangement), infinite contrast and eye punching brightness that maintains perfectly even saturation and contrast unlike with lcd. Moreover the Screen calibration feature allows for various color space standards which is a must-have for professional photography or graphic work. Extremely High sensitivity screen allows for gloved use. Only just enough bezel to allow for screen edge swiping with a case installed leaving the device as narrow as possible making it much more nimble for one handed use and a bit less pants pocket stretching. Always on display is great as it allows me to check the time, date and notifications without having to turn on my phone--far superior in so many ways to the old way of decoding the color and speed of the flashing led.
Samsung pay:
their proprietary technology allows the device to simulate a magnetic card swipe which works anywhere unlike android pay and apple pay which only work on certain terminals. It constantly amazes everyone.
IP68 water and dust proof:
As beautiful as the S7 is it is indeed a fingerprint magnet. This is a problem with many phones so stylishly slick but unlike other phones when the S7 loses its lustre you can simply rinse it off under the sink and polish it off with a bath towel--good as new.
Powered USB otg with support for so many add ons:
gaming controllers, midi keyboards, file storage, keyboards, mice. I was surprised to find that I can charge another device with my phone and even spin up and operate a USB hard disk without any need for additional power cables.
the camera:
so amazing I use it for augmented vision. Not only can I inspect from the distance whether that little spot on the wall is a fly or a spider without getting off my lazy ass but I can see and read things where it would otherwise be far too dim for my eyes to see without need for additional lighting. Oh yea, and it also takes amazing pictures in just two clicks. I never miss a shot because even in the rare times when I would I can rely on motion photo to reverse time and recapture the picture just how I wanted. The expanding library of camera modes just kick it over the edge of awesomeness. In real world use I tend to switch between auto, pro, rear selfie, slow motion, and gif maker. I use burst a lot too which is available whenever you press and hold the shoot button.
ui:
I've found split screen and pop up mode more and more useful for working with and between multiple apps. Web browsing and reading while streaming music or watching YouTube and/or chating just feels great. I use my laptop so little these days which is so much better for my posture. Text selection is also improved paired with the hypersensitive screen. You can rely on the precision of the tip of your thumbnail and not the blunt tip of your finger. The adjustable dpi hack gives you more work space immediately expanding the usefulness of large screen.
I haven't even begun to touch on so many other things but I can definitely go on if anyone wants me to.
This is by far the most satisfied I've ever been with a phone and I've been using smart phones since when they were called PDAs. I never thought I'd be so satisfied with a non rooted android device but I don't find myself missing anything except perhaps the stereo sound hack and the Xposed framework but with all the features I'm discovering and looking forward to the gear vr Im sure I'll find enough ways not to care.
I don't use any of the features you listed, but i'd say my favorite "features" are (no particular order)
-Double tap home for camera shortcut
-Theme engine
-Split screen
-triple tap home for one handed use
Best hardware features are easily the screen and the camera. Build quality is amazing, honestly feels better in the hand than metal IMO, and IP68 is just an awesome feature to have.
Samsung has activated Display scaling in the newest Galaxy S7 firmware, it gives the user greater control over how much information is packed onto the screen.
That one isn't hidden anymore. Nice!

In the display menu if you received the last update, otherwise you have to download Nova Launcher and activate through a specific nova action (you can then uninstall Nova).
Steps to follow :
Step 1: Head on over to the Google Play Store and download Nova Launcher
Step 2: Launch Nova Launcher. There's no need to set it as a default.
Step 3: Do a long-press on the home screen and tap on Widgets.
Step 4: Look for the Activities widget and bring it to the home screen.
Step 5: Look for Settings and tap on .DisplayScalingActivity. This will create a shortcut on the home screen.
Step 6: Tap on the newly created shortcut. There you have it, the option to go either Standard or Condensed.

the last update you're talking about is the one from T-Mobile? I have T-Mobile and I got one update from Samsung and one from T-Mobile.
Nop, it's a Sammy update that began to roll out a couple days ago fixing some side touching issues, photo stuff too and a lot of other things too
S7 here..Stock..TouchWiz Launcher..T-Mobile carrier
#1 Feature: Samsung Pay. When I saw my wife use her Note 5 to pay at WalMart, my MotoX Pure suddenly became obsolete.
#2. SD Card has returned. 32GB onboard isn't sufficient for me and now with 128GB extra, I'm content.
#3, Android 6.0.1. Battery Optimizations net me 20 total hours on battery with a 4-6 hour Screen On Time. Wow!
#4 Gear VR compatibility. I have the VR and it is stunning and so next-generation.
#5 Speaker is loud. While not idea for cranking up the tunes, it's perfect for voice calls and voicemail.
#6 SideSync and SmartSwitch. These two apps fill in the features that iTunes backup and Continuity brought to iOS.
#7 TouchWiz is scaled down enough to not get in the way of using the phone. Still packed with options, but it works right out of the box.

Possiblity of adding Quick tiles support and voice?

Quick Tiles have been developed and have just gone live in 0.12.alpha.
Voice activation is a different story. There is Google Now and Google Assistant to take advantage of. First one can only use their commands ("set an alarm" etc but not really anything related to our app. No "turn on the lights".) The latter has actions that make sense but it is only in a conversation. (Turn on the light, do you want to turn on the light?, What room? Living-room, etc.). It is quicker to buy a button and get it even installed. So, we need a better alternative like Google Assistant Direct Actions. This is not available without signup (yes, I did signup but no response yet). This is for home automation and suits me fine. It is just the wait until Google's response.
wow 7,50 €lol...hell na
i rather use 4 free apps, that do exactly the same ...even so u might have one or two feature ...i wouldn't recommend anybody to buy this DLC app haha
I bought the app to support the developer, all the upcoming features sound like a dream come true to me. I also like the slick look of the graphics, so thanks a lot and keep up to good work. To anybody else reading this, go ahead and buy this app, it's nice and handy and the upcoming features are even more awesome. Just skip a lunch and starbucks, cheap bastards.
Please, widgets!
I just bought the app, and I'm excited about the features, but I am curious about the quick tiles. When I tap on a tile, it just sends me into the configuration screen without toggling the settings of my lights at all. How do I use these to quickly change the settings of my lights? What am I missing?
I have also noticed that my lights will remain stuck on an effect, even if I have tried to change the bulb status via another method (Alexa, or the button on the back of the Hue Go, for examples).

Thank you for your positive response. At the moment I am working on bug fixes mainly. I expect that most errors have been dealt with for now. Next features I am working on are the schedules, rules, sensors. These should come through in one of the next releases. Some parts are quite far by now. Main issue is lack of time due to school! Soon it is holidays again and frees up time.
For those who have reported "unknown lights" in the section "all lights", I never knew how many lights Hue Essentials would pick up. I have a hard time finding those lights myself in shops and on the internet. Bought some of those IKEA, Osram, etc, for testing, but must say that Hue lights from Philips are best of them all. Just too bad the Hue lights are so expensive. IKEA lights could do with a real improvement...
Many people joined the translation program through the app. Really wonderful to see all those languages coming through! Thanks for all your support!

Have you configured the tile in those settings? If so, it could be a bug that needs to be fixed. Let me know the details of your tile action and type of device.
If you start the effect through Hue Essentials and try to stop it through another method, like Alexa, it will not stop. Effects are played locally and not running on the bridge. Note that this may change in the future releases of the app. You need to stop the effect through the buttons in the app/notification.
what we need is a very good and comfortable home screen widget. didnt find any good out there.

Yes, I get the message. Widgets are on the wishlist (I do not know if this is the same as Santa's list but perhaps we get it before Christmas). For now I first need to complete another request; IKEA TRADFRI Gateway will be integrated as another bridge in one of the next releases.
Is there also a functionallity to add custom actions to the hue dimmers for every button, a bit the same as iconnecthue voor ios?

We love iConnectHue as that developer has shown what Hue can do! Surely, we still need to work on the sensors (smart controls). Our idea is to create extra functionality. There is just a bit too much on the wish-list. First, I am adding IKEA gateway to one of the next releases. Next is scenes and more effects, maybe we will have a look at entertainment at the same time. Widgets are on the list.
Room/Group Colours?
Maybe I'm missing something but I see that I can apply the same brightness level, scenes, and effects to all the lights in a room but I can't see how to set all lights in a room to the same colour without going into each individual light setting...?
Thanks!

The IKEA Trådfri is still under development and not released yet. I think it takes a few more weeks. Still sorting out some bugs
Once it is included in Hue Essentials:
It depends on what you want. If you only want to use the Trådfri gateway, you can just delete your old bridge and then scan for the gateway. If you want to use Trådfri and Hue at the same time, then you would need multiple bridges.
