[Q] Default Launcher APK? Crespo4G w/ SlimICS

Might be a stupid question but I'm running SlimICS and hate Zeam. It seems he deleted the launcher2 from system/app and can't seem to find a (preferably) downloadable zip.
Can someone provide a flashable up to date default launcher?
If not, perhaps a flashable up to date Trebuchet?
I've done quite a bit of googling but that fake ICS launcher pops up a lot, and any Trebuchet links are bad

both can be placed in system/app.. to allow widgets in menu
both are amazingly smooth.. much faster than stock and more customizable

You can download a stock rom and just pull it from the app folder.
Place the apk in system/app folder and set same permissions as others. Then reboot.

There is also a .zip to flash all the stuff that is left out of Slim. I think it's under the 2.6 update.

I tried NOVA and APEX, both are very comfortable and smooth. I am on APEX now

Hello everyone, I hope I have posted in the right section, I have to ask you a question that despite several hours of trial and research remains to me: I was going to download the firmware official google nexus 7 and take the apk that interest me, and install them on our tablet 7plus.
I downloaded the version both deodexed and odexed of the google nexus 7 and I extracted, for example, the contacts.apk DEODEXED from it.Installing the apk android ics stock tells me: error with the analysis of the packet. I also tested with version odexed putting the apk file and the odex file into the folder system / apps but also restarting did not work ...
1) it's possible what I want and for example it's possible to install another launcher (ex. launcher.apk stolen from google nexus 7 stock deodexed) like a normal apk and use it just pressing home button and selecting it instead of touchwiz launcher?
2) if yes can you explain me the procedure?
3) do you know where I can find the backgrounds stock once downloaded any ROM (which gives me the compacted system folder plus other img etc etc?

I don't think you can just copy over a system apk from one device to another without porting it which I cannot help you with. Same thing goes for the launchers they too would need to be ported over. You could try and use something like apkManager to decompile the app then make the necessary changes to it, i.e. resolution, device name, etc, etc,. then compile it. I have no experience doing this with apps and you might find some help by digging around in the main android development forum, not the one for this device the main one.

Does anyone know how to change freaky smiling default contacts icons on 4.2 official rom? I know that i can change one by one with photos, but i want to change the default ones.

I think it needs a modified Contacts.apk.

No you don't, but you need to get CWM and flashable deodexed files for your firmware.
Get the correct flashable deodexed files and flash in CWM to deodex your system apps. Then you can bring out and edit the Contacts.apk (or whatever apk name, I forgot) using apktool. There should be image files of the icon you don't like. You need to extract and recompile framework-res while doing this too.
Find the guide somewhere in this forum or other forum (similar things). At least these are what I did to modify SystemUI.apk previously, the process is similar.

i dont mean to be rude...but its irresponsible to ask questions without searching the forums first...
That said,
1.boot animation change involves finding a boot animation zip file (which u can create if you want to) and putting it inside the rom replacing the curent animation,u can get details on any guide for porting roms.
2. Changing Sim carrier sounds non functional but it probably will involve the build.prop..altho i am not sure about that..
3.Isnt that already installed?...you can find it inside the rom zip or in your phone /system/app

'Irresponsible' isn't the correct term, You mean i'm being lazy. I've changed the Boot Animation and i guess i'm not to alarmed about the Carrier name, but There is a default camera installed but i don't like it therefore i would like to replace it, I can't find it in system/app

irresponsible/lazy....semantics..but if you want any camera app you can just d/l it or exttraxt from any rom zip maybe..

'Any Camera' App won't work, some will simply force close. I've fixed my problem just looking for a decent gallery

[MOD] Theme Store- How to keep your stock icons on any theme

*Dont you hate when you like a theme but hate the icons!!! I will give you a simple guide to download the theme you want and keep your stock icons
~Keep your stock icons for any theme~
*ROOTED REQUIRED*
*Please read complete guide*
*Make sure you are not using the theme you are applying this to! Apply a different theme while your editing this file!
1. Using a file explorer, go to data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson and find the theme you want to keep stock icons!
2. Open file and hit the edit button! Look for this line a little ways down:
"appicon":"com.cambunch.ThemeName.appicon",
and delete it! Save file and reboot!
3. Now you can go to theme store and apply that theme and have stock icons

***This should work for any theme in userjson file, just follow same steps and remember to save and reboot before you apply theme!!!

Which one? Part 1 or 2?
If icons didnt stay stock, go back to the file you deleted the line and make sure it saved with that line deleted! It did that for me and when i went back and checked file, the line was still there and i re- deleted it, made sure i saved file and rebooted and it worked!

Hmmm, it works for me! Deleted that appicon line, saved then rebooted, applied theme and i have stock icons! Ive tried it on a few themes and all have worked!
Make sure that you do not have that theme currently applied! Apply another theme then go back and apply theme that you did that for!

All you have to do if you don't like any paticular part of a sammy theme is install a root file manager... I use root browser but what ever you choose as long as it uses root is fine... then once opened file manager navigate to the data/app folder. Here you will find every apk and or sammy theme that you have installed onto your device. Simply scroll down until you find the specific group of folders for which ever theme your wanting to remove a paticular part of ex. Accuweather, App Icons, etc. Once you've located the file you don't want to use with the theme anymore like the icons "themename.appicon-1" simply delete the folder and reboot and badaboom stock icons are back! I hope that made some sense lol

Yes you can.. I have just tried using a keyboard theme I like on different theme by just copy pasting corresponding lines from one to another.

This also allows you to change your icons to anything you want using the galaxy icon themer app in play store

How did you do that please? I tried to modify name of inputmethod for a keyboard theme I like from another theme but it didn't change.
