[MOD] Theme Store- How to keep your stock icons on any theme - Galaxy Note5 Themes and Apps

*Dont you hate when you like a theme but hate the icons!!! I will give you a simple guide to download the theme you want and keep your stock icons
~Keep your stock icons for any theme~
*ROOTED REQUIRED*
*Please read complete guide*
*Make sure you are not using the theme you are applying this to! Apply a different theme while your editing this file!
1. Using a file explorer, go to data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson and find the theme you want to keep stock icons!
2. Open file and hit the edit button! Look for this line a little ways down:
"appicon":"com.cambunch.ThemeName.appicon",
and delete it! Save file and reboot!
3. Now you can go to theme store and apply that theme and have stock icons
***Also see post #10 for another simple guide thanks to @SICKMADE***
***This should work for any theme in userjson file, just follow same steps and remember to save and reboot before you apply theme!!!
***JUST HIT THANKS IF YOU THINK THIS IS FRICKIN AWESOME***
Screen shots of files and before and after:

Note 5 have to be root or not to work ??

Which one? Part 1 or 2?
If icons didnt stay stock, go back to the file you deleted the line and make sure it saved with that line deleted! It did that for me and when i went back and checked file, the line was still there and i re- deleted it, made sure i saved file and rebooted and it worked!

Hmmm, it works for me! Deleted that appicon line, saved then rebooted, applied theme and i have stock icons! Ive tried it on a few themes and all have worked!
Make sure that you do not have that theme currently applied! Apply another theme then go back and apply theme that you did that for!

All you have to do if you don't like any paticular part of a sammy theme is install a root file manager... I use root browser but what ever you choose as long as it uses root is fine... then once opened file manager navigate to the data/app folder. Here you will find every apk and or sammy theme that you have installed onto your device. Simply scroll down until you find the specific group of folders for which ever theme your wanting to remove a paticular part of ex. Accuweather, App Icons, etc. Once you've located the file you don't want to use with the theme anymore like the icons "themename.appicon-1" simply delete the folder and reboot and badaboom stock icons are back! I hope that made some sense lol

This is the best Thread ever !!! I always wanted this, thanks alot !!! Very Helpful

Yes you can.. I have just tried using a keyboard theme I like on different theme by just copy pasting corresponding lines from one to another.

This also allows you to change your icons to anything you want using the galaxy icon themer app in play store

[Q] Restoring stock edit menu icons after theming?

Hey everybody, this is my first post here.
I recently installed Rubix Focused and the Linear theme for it. All is well and good except that some of the edit menu icons are themed and some are not. This really bugs me and I wanted to change them all back to the stock icons. I've found the icons inside of the framework.apk inside the linear theme zip, but when I replace them via 7zip and try to reinstall the theme, they aren't changed and my phone pretty much flips out.
Also some of the icons for other programs (Gmail, others) are also changed, I'm assuming whatever would work to fix the ones inside the framework apk would also work for changing out the icons in those specific apps.
So how do I go about doing this? I thought it would be a simple fix but I'm thinking I'm missing something during the process.
If you use the rubix zip u flashed...
Open it up with 7zip and pull ouy everything but the framwork-res.apk
Then reflash the new zip. I believe u can do this...read it in this forum somewhere...
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Would I be reflashing Rubix's framework or the theme's (Linear)? The modified icons came from the theme installation.
Use the rubix framework if you want them to look like the stock rubix icons.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I replaced the icons in the theme with the icons I wanted and replace the framework file in the original theme's zip and deleted everything else, keeping the file structure to the framework file intact. It freezes whenever I try to install it now.

Alrighty, I ended up getting something to work. I used another simple theme mod's zip file and replaced the framework file with mine and installed fine. I'm guessing it had to do with signage or something.j Would life have been made easier if I used apk manager?
Yes, if you are just replacing images, apk manager would probably make life easier...
Sorry I didn't think to mention this before... was just trying to think of the easiest method to get you back to where you wanted to be in terms of look/feel.

[request]stock gb theme

With all the themes we have now it's easy for our phones to become a mess...
Is it possible to have the stock gingerbread theme with all original apps to flash? It would be really nice
I do agree

You can do this yourself. Just download the deodexed stock XXKPH files from this thread and copy the required apps to phone using any root explorer.

Please post such requests in Q and A section.
For return to stock theme u must backup whole system folder as a backup for safety. Because theme contains modified files which replaces files only from system folder.
Whenever u will open any theme u will always see two main folder name as META-INF and system folder. META-INF is folder is very important to flash the theme in phone.
Suppose u flashed u clear glass sl theme and after sometime u want to return to stock theme here is procedure.
1. Always take a backup of ur original whole system folder before flashing theme.
2. Take a copy of any theme such as clear glass sl theme on computer.
3. open that theme using any zip software.
4. Now delete the system folder from that theme. Never delete META-INF folder from that.
5. Now copy ur original whole system folder in place of deleted system folder.
6. Thats it. The new zip theme file will contain whole stock files.
7. Go into recovery and flash it. You will get ur original look.

Just download deodexed XXKPH system files from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191911
Click on "Download Deodexed System Files [COMPLETE XXKPH]" and you will download a file "xUltimate Deodex XXKPH.rar" which contains all deodexed system folders /app and /framework.
Yeah, I need this too to get my UI themes & APKs back to normal UI since I have usually flashed / changed my stock xxkph with some different themes....
I tryed copy all those files in the framework and app folder but it doesn't work... the phone looks normal but it then hangs random reboot and stuff like that.. I did a factory reset and... the theme I installed came back from nothing!
My usb is broken and I cant reflash so I'm pretty screwed without a stock theme to flash back

How to customise APK's Images [EASY]

First off you need a deodoxed custom rom , next copy the desired APK's from your System/App folder or from the zip you flashed or from wherever.
Download and Install WinRAR or 7Zip and drag the APK onto the shortcut on your desktop. It should open it up , next extract the LDPI and the HDPI folder/s onto your desktop.
Edit your pics with any program e.g. Paint.net . Then replace the modified folder with the old one.
Next download SignAPKTics from APKTops and install that. Drag the modded APK to your SD card.
Click START , choose the APK , click next , choose Test Sign and click sign! Wait 1.5 mins! And ot should be done. Now just (with root browser) replace the old one with the modded one.
And re-boot! Enjoy...

I'm not sure if he has tried it with system app. replacing a file like systemUI.apk or framework-res.apk will make our device continously give FC message. we should use zip file to push the apk to /system/app. system app is also should not signed. I always using this trick without signing stuff and it works. we just need to make sure that we're replace the ordinary file (not the .9 one) and put a picture with same resolution with the original one.
Exactly my thoughts. Resigning systems apps is a big NO. I already did it twice (SystemUI.apk) and I ended up with no statusbar. Good thing I had a backup.

The easiest and foolproof method is to use Ninjamorph or metamorph app from market.I've modified tones of .pngs with them.
First open the apk with the app
Exit the app
Go to myfiles/Androidthemes/workspace/name-of-apk/res/
Then go to drawable ldpi
Take a look at all of the .png files
Find which .png you want to replace.
You should make your own pic with photoshop or anything to replace it with exact resolution and name
Store it in the sd-card
Open the app again
Go to Existing project/name-of-apk/res/drawable ldpi
Click on the .png you want to replace
App will ask you to replace it with some other .png
Navigate to the modified pic
It'll replace the .png
Then go back to homepage of app
Then click finish project
Tap on the apk name
App will ask you whether you want to replace the original apk
Do as you want
Reboot phone
Make a nandroid backup before everything. cheers

pushing it using adb is a more safer way, because if something goes wrong with forcing it to system then you can just repush the original system apk
you was replacing a running apk. there's no doubt it will give you FC message (lol). try your method to replace framework-res.apk or any system app/framework. b16h22 is right. your method is dangerous.

I would think you find the keyboard in secsettings2 or whatever file all the system core files are in from the stock theme, copy it and replace it with the themed keyboard apk, and don't forget to set permissions to rx-rx-r? That's my best bet. @SICKMADE ? Am I close?

There's an easy way around it. If you're applying theme from theme store, all you have to do is delete theme.input files
Any app that deletes .apk files, will work.
Example*

Just find the .apk and delete than reboot. profit

All you have to do is use a root file manager like root browser then go into your data/app folder there you will find all the apps you have installed onto your device including every individual themed apk from whatever theme you downloaded and installed from Sammy theme store... if there is something that you don't like or want from a particular theme ie. Icons or keyboard just simply scroll until you see all the apps from the theme you installed and delete which ever themed app folder that you don't want. Hope that made some sense lol.

How To Modify Themes From Theme Store For S6/Note5 Roms.

Hello again everybody!
So today I have a way for you to modify themes that are from official samsung theme Store, the method is hard and it does take a lot of time so bare with me.
First of all you will need a rooted device, obviously lol
Also you will need to have, root explorer and xploer. Now for the stepes:
1- Open root explorer and go to Data > App
2- You will see many many folders for the theme, in my case I will modify something in the home screen so the folder should have your theme name and then home and the end like this ( minuhome.FranceParis.home-1 )
3- Open the folder you will find an apk called base.apk
3- copy that apk and paste To somewhere else
4- Open explore and find the copied Base.apk
5- modify the things you want, for an example I changed the folder Look, I took a folder icon, renamed it To .qmg instead of .jpg then renamed that icon exactly like the folder icon For the theme, then deleted That old One and replaced it with the new one. ( do the same with any icon you want in any base.apk)
6- Open root explorer, take the new modified base.apk and replace it with the old one, set permissions And then reboot.
If it didn't work On the first time then apply the theme then apply another theme And then apply the theme again.
This may not be the best way, but it's the only way to modify them so far.
Do not copy my method on any place without my permission!! Thank you.

I know that as I have done that Before. ..But what about the settings page, contacts page And other pages wallpaper...How to change them...bcoz for changing wallpapers of homescreen, lockscreen and s-view we don't have to modify an apk we can simply change it Through settings...

Hello MrHollywood, looks like no one has posted here for a while but I'll give it a shot and hope for a reply/help. Your instructions are great, I've been wanting to know how to do this since my Galaxy S6.....I'm now onto an S8, rooted and rockin' an altered theme thanks to you! I have been able to use another themes icon pack with success, however when I use another theme's "InCallUI" (accept, reject, hangup icons in phone dialer) I cannot get them to stick. They will stay for a duration then default back to the Samsung goofy cartoon icons. I know that restarting phone triggers the reset but it also randomly triggers without restart. I can get them back by applying another theme then re-applying my theme....but a bit of a pain to have to do everytime!
What I have done, as per your instructions, is taken the "InCallUI.apk" out of theme's "base.apk", edited it and replaced. I have also placed that same edited InCallUI.apk into; Data > Overlays > Style > mytheme folder, then changed permissions to "rwx r-- r-w". I use these permission because all the other apk's in this folder use them.
Any advise or corrections in what I'm doing would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
