[Completed] nexus 5 problame - XDA Assist

hi every1,
my nexus 5 d821 is doing me some serious problems and i thought this forum might help me with it.
at first the screen was flickering and shaking so i restarted the phone and it worked for a while.
now, after the last lollipop update, my phone isn't only flickering badly, it's also have a "pink snow screen".
i can't even do the basic things like call/text.
is there any other solution then buying a new phone?

[Q] Nexus 5 Lollipop Update Issue

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar issue to me and how you resolved it.
I've searched the forums and found nothing more than what I've been doing.
A few months ago I dismissed the Lollipop update because I wasn't on WiFi for a few days. I dismissed it multiple times and then it stopped showing up. I went to check for system updates and it just said no available updates. Even now in January it's still saying the same thing and I haven't had any subsequent notifications to install the Lollipop update.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :good:

I'm assuming you're still on 4.4.4. Sideload the update in the stock recovery.

Hold out for 5.1 or downgrade to kitkat

Hey guys my moto g XT1032 has been incredibly slow since the update to 5.0.1, I think this is due to the memory leak issue?
Restarting solves the issue for all of 20 mins - I've also tried wiping the cache.
Has anyone had any experience with this ?
I'm stuck between waiting for 5.1 and fixing it or downgrading to kitkat - it's incredibly frustrating at this stage waiting for my apps to load.

IMO kitkat is far more responsive, quick, and stable than lollipop. Lollipop 5.1 is better than 5/5.01/5.02 but I still prefer kitkat over Lollipop. That's just my opinion.

Okay. In your original post you stated that you have the 2nd gen moto g. The xt1032 is the 1st gen moto g.
Also, if your bootloader is not unlocked and/or you are not rooted then you are stuck on Lollipop. If it is unlocked then you can adb fastboot the correct 4.4.4 firmware for your phone to go back to KitKat. I purchased my xt1028 with JellyBean on it, ota'd to 4.4.2 KitKat, then later took the 4.4.4 ota. Unlocked bootloader, rooted it and flashed numerous KitKat roms. Then upgraded my bootloader from 41.13 to 41.19 and flashed more than a few Lollipop roms. At the end of the day, I am just not impressed with Lollipop at all. Too bright, too many colors, and the design is too kiddie-like, as though they designed it for kindergarten children. Grow up android, and make an os for adults.
I reverted back to KitKat and I like it far better. Although I am about done with android. Going to iphone.
thanks for the reply - you're right -I'm a 1st gen ( XT1032).
So am I completely stuck on lolipop since the upgrade? ( I'm not rooted)

Yes, unfortunately if you are not rooted you are stuck on lollipop. However, you have a GSM phone and I think it is unlockable through Motorola's bootloader unlock program. Here is a link that may help: http://motogroms.com/moto-g-bootloa...o-g-xt939g-xt1008-xt1031-xt1032-xt1033-xt1034
And if you have success unlocking your bootloader, this link will help you restore KitKat on your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
Keep in mind though that when you took the Lollipop ota it updated your bootloader so even if you restore your phone to KitKat you will still have the updated bootloader(bootloader cannot be downgraded) so you will have some screen flicker every time you reboot your phone but that is resolved by just turning the screen off/on.
If you need any further assistance please feel free to let me know and I'll do what I can to help.
Upgraded mine 2 days ago I totally hate lollipop
the lock screen sucks with the speed dial on it .....I have acidently made calls twice......I have had to put a pass code in to stop this happening
untill I can find a way of removing this pile of **** from my phone.

thanks for the reply classic757 - you're a gent
It looks like I'm stuck so for a while. Any sign of an improved 5.1 to deal with the memory leak / slowdown?

Your welcome.
And I am not quite sure if there is a 5.1/5.1.1 Lollipop update for your phone. You can always visit Motorola Software Update Page to check.

Multi touch/ ghost touch problems MOTO G 2015[SOLVED]

[SOLVED]
I was having problems with the touch screen and this has never happened before today. i tried turning it off and on, wiping the caches, formatting everything, i even flashed a new rom in hopes of fixing the problem (now its on cm12.1)
i finally turned on the pointer location to understand where these touches were happening. please see the screenshot and hopefuly someone else can better understand what might be wrong. the bootloader is unlocked and obv it is out of warranty so i dont wanna take it to motorola if i can fix it myself..

A little more information regarding the phone?
What kernel, rom, system etc...
It sounds like a corrupted file to me, but I can't tell until you post the most basic info
I'm having this problems too... but I don't want to loose my warranty

i thought if its a rom problem , i even flashed cm12.1 after rooting and still the problem persisited.
try flashing new firmware found in Moto G general section. Might solve your problem! Report back here after!
I upgraded mine with latest firmware. Typing is accurate now. XT1543 with 23.72.43 FW

Ughh i tried all that. nothing worked. Just sent a request for anew device. Told the guy everything except that its UBL and running cm12.1 and out of warranty lol. He couldnt get the screen to work so i got a replacement piece today. Still it's weird how something like this could happen. Hopefully this piece wont malfunction in this way. Thanks for the help tho. Putting this post as solved.
Hello,
I'm experimenting huge problems with pinch gesture on my G3 with original marshmallow. I've detailed all in a video: https://youtu.be/_hMp9vb2WUI
I hope it may be a software problem. If anyone knows how to fix... I'd prefer to not unlock the bootloader.
Thanks
I too have this problem , how can I solve it without losing the guarantee ?
I wait for the update to Android 6.0.1 or he flashed something ?
To flash , I lose my warranty?
Thank you very much , and sorry , but I'm not very good at these things .
EDIT: I solved it by flashing the latest firmware for my moto g .
