[Q] Nexus 5 Lollipop Update Issue - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar issue to me and how you resolved it.
I've searched the forums and found nothing more than what I've been doing.
A few months ago I dismissed the Lollipop update because I wasn't on WiFi for a few days. I dismissed it multiple times and then it stopped showing up. I went to check for system updates and it just said no available updates. Even now in January it's still saying the same thing and I haven't had any subsequent notifications to install the Lollipop update.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :good:

I'm assuming you're still on 4.4.4. Sideload the update in the stock recovery.

[Q] Xoom 2 (MZ615) ICS question.

Hello,
I'm still waiting for the ICS update here in Belgium.
Now, I read thay you can make your device a 'Google Experience Device', is that possible on the MZ615, if yes, where do I do that?
Thanks!
Bump, nobody got any idea?

Where exactly did you read that? i know its possible to some xoom 1 models but xoom2 not so sure.
Last night i whas overjoyed, finally recieved an ota message about an update available.. selected download,, nothing happened other than saying its downloading.. i kept my patience for about 5/6 hours and put the mz615 a side..afterthat nothing has downloaded at all and no ics or what so ever.. tried rescanning for updates, but nothing..
Contacted techsupport to ask whats happening and if they could resend the update to my device..
Same experience or did your update worked?

I got ICS since yesterday also, works really good, especially browsing has improved (no more square blocks missing when scrolling).
Hope JB won't take a year to get it onto the MZ615, since they already got it in the USA.

[Completed] Nexus 4 - OTA update Android 5.0 Lollipop shown in notification but missing later

Hey guys,
I have received the OTA update for Android Lollipop on my Nexus 4 last week. But I dint opt to download as I was on traveling.
When I came home and switched on WiFi, the update was not there. It says Your system is up to date with 4.4.4 version only.
For the past two days I am continuously checking but no luck. Please help me on this.
It appears as though your question is identical to the question asked here
Please see the link given in the reply
Good luck

OTA Lollipop update

Hello,
I have just bought this phone and I am curious how much I have to wait until I get the 5.0 update request. Now I am using 4.4.4
Thank you.
Well mine is about week or two old now. And im also on 4..4.4 Im not sure what's the reason wh'y its not updating. Seems like everyone with new nexus 5 have this problem. We just have to wait i guess.
If nothing will change i will probably unlock bootloader next year and update it manually. Then again looks like there are huge battery life problems on lollipop. It might be better to stay on 4.4.4
Same case here. I bought a new Nexus on the 13th of December. After turning on the phone for the first time, I received a couple of OTA updates until 4.4.4. But I haven't received yet the lollipop OTA update request.
Finally I decided to manually load the OTA by following the tutorial here:
http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/b...on-your-nexus-device-download-links-included/
After my phone was manually updated to 5.0, I automatically received the OTA for 5.0.1

Same here, bought my nexus 5 two weeks ago. My nexus 4 already running 5.0.1 but the nexus 5 still 4.4.4. Maybe it's for the better given the nexus 5 lollipop issues. Probably jump straight to 5.0.2

[Q] Nexus 5 not receiving OTA 5.0

Hii I bought the Nexus 5 3-4 days back. It came with 4.4.3 and I was able to update it to 4.4.4. Can't seem to get the lollipop update. What am I missing? My friends are using lollipop on their Nexus 5. I thought the update was pushed weeks ago. How long do I have to wait?
It'll come eventually. This has been asked many times recently. Please try to use search more.

As mentioned, please use the search. You can also try to sideload the LP factory or OTA packages (you can find links to download in other threads dedicated to it).

[Q] Will new Lollipop update show if I do not update current one?

I have got a new Nexus 5. Originally, it came with KitKat 4.4.2, and KitKat 4.4.4 was available immediately, to which I updated.
Just a few days ago, I got the notification for Lollipop 5.0.1 update. Reading about several Lollipop issues on Nexus 5, I do not want to update to Lollipop yet, and I intend to continue using KitKat 4.4.4.
I also read on the internet that the major update of Lollipop, 5.1, will be released in February. So, I want to wait for that.
My question is this.
If I do not update to Lollipop 5.0.1 update, and when a new version of Lollipop is available, for example, 5.0.3, or 5.1, or any other newer update, will I get the notification for that, even if I have not installed the current update?

I don't know for sure if you'll get the update notification or not but it won't install if you do. The updates have become sequential and you'll need to have the one before or the new update won't install.

So in other words, double update at that time if you're willing to wait
Thanks for the replies .
Yea, I had guessed that it might be required to install the previous updates before updating to the current one. That's no problem, and I can perform the double updates. I am willing to wait for a Lollipop version which won't have any major issues.
The issue will be of notification... whether there will be notification for the new update or not. It will be good to get it, but I have doubts about it.
Do you guys know if Lollipop 5.0.1 is having any major issues on Nexus 5? I keep reading conflicting reports about it. An article on a site says that the author is not having any major issues... but my cousin who updated to it sometime ago, is having many issues.. app crashing, and all.
That's why I think I will wait. It's a brand new Nexus 5, and I haven't started using it. Had been waiting for the Lollipop update, but by the time it arrived, I read about several issues, and was glad that I did not update.
I had also read that Lollipop 5.0.1 had been released but pulled back for Nexus 5, and I wasn't expecting it on my phone, but I was surprised to receive it.
Willing to wait for another Lollipop update, but that constant notification about system update is going to be quite a pain .
