Hello,
I have just bought this phone and I am curious how much I have to wait until I get the 5.0 update request. Now I am using 4.4.4
Thank you.
Well mine is about week or two old now. And im also on 4..4.4 Im not sure what's the reason wh'y its not updating. Seems like everyone with new nexus 5 have this problem. We just have to wait i guess.
If nothing will change i will probably unlock bootloader next year and update it manually. Then again looks like there are huge battery life problems on lollipop. It might be better to stay on 4.4.4
Same case here. I bought a new Nexus on the 13th of December. After turning on the phone for the first time, I received a couple of OTA updates until 4.4.4. But I haven't received yet the lollipop OTA update request.
Finally I decided to manually load the OTA by following the tutorial here:
http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/b...on-your-nexus-device-download-links-included/
After my phone was manually updated to 5.0, I automatically received the OTA for 5.0.1

Same here, bought my nexus 5 two weeks ago. My nexus 4 already running 5.0.1 but the nexus 5 still 4.4.4. Maybe it's for the better given the nexus 5 lollipop issues. Probably jump straight to 5.0.2

I thought the retail US moto g was suppose to get android 4.4.4 but I never got it. I am still on 4.4.3 and when I check for updates nothing comes up. Did everyone else get it?
Rollout for 4.4.4 was delayed due to some unknown issue (legal?) specific to US. I expect Retail US XT1032 and XT1034 will get their OTA update in the next week.

That's surprising. I was looking for that information, I suppose I am in the same scenario (see attached snapshot)?
So I'm not the only one...

No you are not. At this point I do not think we will get a 4.4.4 update. I bet it gets skipped. I've been waiting patiently for awhile now for a update because for some reason the 4.4.3 update killed my battery performance. I haven't been using my moto g as much because of this. I was hoping the 4.4.4 update would help with my battery. It's a shame we are all waiting on motorola to release another update.

My battery is working normally, but I'm really expected for the Android L update, 4.4.4 is just a "minor" update, I think.
Just got the update yesterday.
Hii I bought the Nexus 5 3-4 days back. It came with 4.4.3 and I was able to update it to 4.4.4. Can't seem to get the lollipop update. What am I missing? My friends are using lollipop on their Nexus 5. I thought the update was pushed weeks ago. How long do I have to wait?
It'll come eventually. This has been asked many times recently. Please try to use search more.

As mentioned, please use the search. You can also try to sideload the LP factory or OTA packages (you can find links to download in other threads dedicated to it).
Hello everyone,
I've tried running a search for this topic but I can't seem to find anything. I've read on multiple threads that the D820 and D821 runs practically the same stock roms with the only difference between the two being the radios for LTE. Since I've just got my D821 (I'm in Malaysia and I'm sick of waiting for the Nexus 6 to debut here!), I still don't have the OTA to update to Lollipop. I'm guessing its the same issue with my GNEX back in the day where my model was maintained by Samsung's servers and hence get them slower than those devices who are maintained by Google's servers (folks in the USA mostly).
So here's the thing, I'm thinking of flashing my stock android to the Playstore version so I can get the OTAs as soon as Google releases them, but my problem is with the LTE bands. I guess my question is, if I flash my D821 to a stock image for D820 WITHOUT tinkering with my radio, will I still have my LTE bands here enabled and at the same time get OTAs promptly from Google's servers?
I did this on my GNEX in the past and it worked great and my "Asian spec" GNEX was getting OTAs within a day or two after Google announces and update (inline with the folks in the US). I just want this to happen for my Nexus 5. I hope one of the gurus here can help me with an answer.
Thank you for reading and sorry for the long post!
There is no difference between a D820 and D821 except the bands they can use. EVERYTHING ELSE is EXACTLY the same.
The stock firmware image is the same for D820/D821, and there is nothing like "country code" of samsung, and all D820/D821 use the same firmware no matter buy it via playstore or from a retail.
if you still didn't get the 5.0 OTA, you may have something wrong as every N5 should get it already.
Thank you Lethargy and Dummyplug, I checked it again and it's still 4.4.4. I just got the phone like 2 hours ago, and when I switched it on, it went updated twice. I believe they're 4.4.3 and 4.4.4. I'll give it a couple of days and see what happens.
Dear OP, I made a big mistake, I've created a Question thread in the General Forum, please move it there thank you!

You can flash the 5.0 OTA in recovery, link http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/info-nexus-5-ota-help-desk-t2523217.
I have got a new Nexus 5. Originally, it came with KitKat 4.4.2, and KitKat 4.4.4 was available immediately, to which I updated.
Just a few days ago, I got the notification for Lollipop 5.0.1 update. Reading about several Lollipop issues on Nexus 5, I do not want to update to Lollipop yet, and I intend to continue using KitKat 4.4.4.
I also read on the internet that the major update of Lollipop, 5.1, will be released in February. So, I want to wait for that.
My question is this.
If I do not update to Lollipop 5.0.1 update, and when a new version of Lollipop is available, for example, 5.0.3, or 5.1, or any other newer update, will I get the notification for that, even if I have not installed the current update?

I don't know for sure if you'll get the update notification or not but it won't install if you do. The updates have become sequential and you'll need to have the one before or the new update won't install.

So in other words, double update at that time if you're willing to wait
Thanks for the replies .
Yea, I had guessed that it might be required to install the previous updates before updating to the current one. That's no problem, and I can perform the double updates. I am willing to wait for a Lollipop version which won't have any major issues.
The issue will be of notification... whether there will be notification for the new update or not. It will be good to get it, but I have doubts about it.
Do you guys know if Lollipop 5.0.1 is having any major issues on Nexus 5? I keep reading conflicting reports about it. An article on a site says that the author is not having any major issues... but my cousin who updated to it sometime ago, is having many issues.. app crashing, and all.
That's why I think I will wait. It's a brand new Nexus 5, and I haven't started using it. Had been waiting for the Lollipop update, but by the time it arrived, I read about several issues, and was glad that I did not update.
I had also read that Lollipop 5.0.1 had been released but pulled back for Nexus 5, and I wasn't expecting it on my phone, but I was surprised to receive it.
Willing to wait for another Lollipop update, but that constant notification about system update is going to be quite a pain .

Thanks. That's good to know. And now you have me in a fix again... thinking whether to update or not . Will think about it.
Hi,
I bought this htc u11 last month when i was in India. It's an unlocked version. However, i see that htc has already rolled out the os update and November patch through ota. Now, I'm in Ireland. I'm checking for system updates but unable to get one and the news state that os has started to roll out for sprint htc u11. Does country change affect the updates? I was using vodafone in india and now I'm using lyca. Also, i initially bought google pixel 2 xl but there were loads of glitches. I did love the device but due to hardware issues, more time requirement to sort and since i did not have much time had to have it returned. However, it was returned and bought u11. I'm putting this up since i have read that google release out android updates. So would be some kind of avengers or something? I'm eagerly waiting for the update since i have seen it unlocks lots more functions on the device.
Awaiting your response. And apologies for such a ling convo.
Updates are for the phone not the carrier. You should be able to get the update via WiFi if its available.
If the phone has been rooted then you'll have to reset it back to stock before the update will show.
I just updated to Android 8 ( stock rom) and it became sluggish... It was way more fluid with Android 7... Don't update yet!!!
BTW any suggestions??
I don't think I can downgrade back to Android 7 being no root ???
