Hi,
I have been having a issue with the Search function in threads. Some threads are over 500 pages long so I'd like to be able to search key words in the thread. For some smaller threads the search seems to work fine, but for very large threads the search always returns 0 results. This happens for words I know for a fact are discussed in the thread. "Lollipop" for example.
This is an example of a thread that always returns 0 results. I have also tried this in different browsers, with the same results.
Search: "lollipop"

Is anyone else experiencing this or know how I can fix it?
Thanks
Hi
Can you specify if you are using an app, or the website on a browser or pc?
Thanks!

On Tapatalk I got many results in that thread for Lollipop. ?
Browser on a pc. Win7. Tried chrome, ie, and ff.
Do you get results when you search the thread I liked?

Must be an issue with your browsers. Try clearing cache on them in app settings. Data maybe too... Tho it'll wipe cookies.

anyone else finding that Opera browser keeps logging you out of XDA ? every time i click ... even to submit this thread ... it asks me to log in again !
is this a setting ive screwed up somewhere ???
Not sure if this will help you, but I've been using Opera for months now & have never had any trouble with XDA (or any other site) logging out.
I do find that sometimes buttons next to forms are missing though.

I take it you have cookies enabled?
everything used to be fine but its been like this for a while. i have to log in to post a msg and then log back in again after i submit ... grrrr
Many people have reported this, including myself. It is a bug. Unfortunately, the devs of opera aren't willing to admit it's a bug. Their response has been that they couldn't replicate it.
Thanks. Looks like I will have to live with it. Shame as opera handles most stuff so well on the tf
I never had this issue until I rooted on Wednesday the 5th. The only other thing that changed was that flash player was updated to V11. With V11 videos would not longer play. I am not convinced that it has anything to do with Opera but I could be wrong.
XDA acts like it logged me in because it does the redirect. Then my info doesn't show on the page & when I try to post it asks me to log in again. Has anyone found a solution to this?
Go into your application manager and wipe data. Should work from now on.

Thanks. The only problem with doing that is all of your bookmarks are deleted too.
Is there a way to backup my opera bookmarks without syncing? I need to clear all of the opera data from the program manager which will delete all of my bookmarks.

Opera Link will do the job.
Hello xda community!
I have had just recently come upon a very annoying problem with YouTube.
Not too long ago I tried pulling up YouTube on my browser to watch a video, the response is that I get a message saying "This video cannot be played."
I have watched videos before, so I don't know what the problem is.
The problem is also persistent with every single video I try to play.
I have tried rebooting the phone, clearing the browser catch, everything I could do, with no success.
Could anyone help me out with this please?
Many thanks in advance.

Then after that clear your cache and browSing data [everything]
is there way to prevent the wifi from turning off every time the screen goes off.
Not so far as we know, yet. However, there *is* a search button, which would let you find the many instances of people asking exactly this question...

It appears the admins are looking into it;

LOL yep, you're right.
That said, Google and Bing both do a just fine job of indexing this site (arguably better than the built-in search tool) and have the bonus of, unless you specify site:xda-developers.com, also searching the rest of the web...
Greetings, XDA Assist!
I want to know if there is a way to restrict internet access to an Android app *ONLY* when it is opened.
For e.g, if I want to hide my last seen on WhatsApp, I switch off my WiFi/Data, and open WhatsApp -> Reply to the messages -> Close Whatsapp -> Turn Data on.
Is there a way to restrict internet access to only certain apps when they're opened, and regain access when they're closed?
It would be of great help if you direct me toward a solution, maybe a Tasker profile?
P.S - Classic XDA Lurker. Lurking for two years. Joined recently. You guys are brilliant. Keep up the good work!
Thanks in advance!
Hi there!
Depending on root or not, there's different option available
In your situation, I'd personally use Greenify
Or some custom ROMs have App Ops built in. You can select permissions on a per app basis. I don't think its quite what you're after in this case.
See if Greenify suits your needs. Read about it in the opening post in the thread I linked. ?
Good luck!!

And no, I don't think your example is going to hide last seen. As soon as you read or post anything, I'm sure it'll make you last seen. No matter how you try to hide it. As soon as you do download or upload. .. It knows you were on. Nothing will change that.

Yes, I misunderstood your goal. You want the opposite of what I was thinking.
If the app is open and no data or WiFi...the app will not function while you use it.
If you don't want people seeing your presence on social apps....you'd have to not use them. Lol
Take care.

Thanks for the reply!
I'm aware of Greenify and my ROM does have App Ops.
I wanted to know how to automate it ONLY when you open the app.
Open Whatsapp -> App stops accessing internet (OR) WiFi/Data gets switched off. [Preferably former]
Close app -> Regains internet access.
Something similar.
I'm sorry, I searched Google and XDA....found nothing like what your after. Lots on keeping it off data when closed....but not open. Again....you can toggle airplane mode on, then open it and test your theory...but I doubt it will have your desired results.
Here's a tasker guide, you can check it out, or ask in the thread perhaps.

Good luck again!
Greetings all.
I'm looking for an app that allows multiple user profiles, such as:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-parallel-space-multiple-accounts-t3308715
All the apps I am currently running (GO Multiple, Parrallel space, Appclone, etc) only have the ability to 'clone' 1 specific game (clash royale in this case) with 1 single google profile. I want an app that allows you to create multiple. While using multiple of such apps does the trick, so to speak. Appclone started to fail and no longer boots up the clash royale game.
If anyone can help me with this, appreciate it.
Using the S7 on Android Marshmallow. And I'm rooted.
Regards,
Skyrider

Not really related to my thread, but I assume you need a specific amount of posts before you can create threads here. At least it was so in the past.
10 posts is the amount to start posting

Titanium backup should work (Data profiles). I don't know if you need pro.
