Sm-n915k ota - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello ,
Does anyone have and care to share the OTA zip file for the korean version of the Edge SM-N915K?
Thank you ~
PS: In case someone else is also wondering , you can flash the stock firmware via ODIN from here :http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/39807/N915KKTU1ANK5_N915KKTC1ANK5_KTC.zip/ without wiping data .( at least for me)
You can re-root afterwards if wanted .
Cheers~

Find the appropriate firmware for your device using Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser'.
You can find firmware for any device by changing the Model name and CSC textbox.

Tmobile pushed a 60mb update to my LG Stylo this morning? What to do?

Hello Folks
This morning I noticed, Tmobile pushed a 60mb update to my phone. I am rooted and unlocked but not on a custom rom.
Please advice what I need to do.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Is there any issuse with the update
I have not updated. As I mentioned I am rooted and unlocked. Not sure what to do hence posted my question in the forum.
I do not want to lock the bootloader. Just curious to see what others who might have got this update are doing about it.

1. You don't have to worry about lock bootloader
2. Which Software version are you running? v10e, v10i or v10j?
3. If you update there is a way to downgrade cuz we have previews KDZ's
I am running version 10i,
I am guessing tmobile wants to upgrade me to v10j. Is there a flash able version for 10j that I can use?
Thanks

Ok, you can go here and update to the latest version v10j using @GameTheory. V10j Full update/pre-rooted/untouch TWRP.

dummy you can't update that way you must remove all traces of root which the app can't do use the KDZ
If you are rooted and it says system update DO NOT INSTALL IT... it will brick your phone

ROOT & Stock ROM for SM-J727S Galaxy J7 May 2017

Hi guys,
I was hoping someone could help me out. I have rooted before (long time ago) but I can't seem to find a lot of information on this specific phone (SM-J727S). I have been searching online (and across many dodgy looking websites, thanks No Script!) and this is about all that I have found:
The Galaxy J7 is also known as the Galaxy Wide 2 in South Korea
http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=device&id=11601&c=samsung_sm-j727s_galaxy_wide_2
It was released on May 2017, runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) and uses the Exynos chipset
TWRP has a release for the J700 series but I'm not sure if it would work on the J727S
https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxyj7exynos.html
The source code for the system has been released, but I couldn't find a stock ROM (which made me reluctant to try TWRP)
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=j727s
This is the closest I got to a Stock ROM but I don't trust the site, is this site trustworthy? (again, I came across too many dodgy sites to just download anything)
https://stockromupdate.com/2017/07/26/stock-rom-sm-j727s-samsung-galaxy-wide-2/
The KingRoot method currently will not work and is asking me to wait for an update (phone is probably too new to root?)
The closest thing I can find on this forum are these posts (but none reference the J727S model)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/development/root-sm-j727p-galaxy-j7-perx-td-lte-t3611202
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/help/root-sm-j727p-galaxy-j7-perx-galaxy-j7-t3598117
So, I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance
I'd thought I'd mention that the bootloader is unlockable in this phone. I had read elsewhere that other people cannot access the 'OEM Unlock' option on their version of the J7. It isn't the case with this phone
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/help/galaxy-j7-pop-galaxy-halo-t3647805/page2
I also got a message from Google talking about my accounts being accessed by a 'J7 Pop'. I guess the Galaxy Wide 2 is also known as the J7 Pop?
So, I'm still on the track of rooting this device. I'm just gonna update any relevant stuff here.
The closest TWRP that I can find is for the 2016 version of this phone, it has the same Exynos chipset.
I'm thinking of trying this, but are there any problems with flashing the wrong version of TWRP? (Will I brick the phone? Or will it just error-out on recovery and boot normally?)
https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxyj72016exynos.html
I also found (what I believe to be) the Stock ROM for this type of phone, you have to sign up to the site in order to download it. It is specific to SK Telecom (Korean telecommunications provider)
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/samsung-galaxy/SM-J727S/SKC/download/J727SKSU1AQD6/172065/
If someone can advise about going forward with the similar TWRP version I'd appreciate it. Cheers!
EDIT: Kinda answered my own question, from the TWRP download page https://dl.twrp.me/j7xelte/
Downloading an image for a different device, no matter how similar, usually does not work.

Any way to request an TWRP version?
I am Korean, and it's very hard It's angry me............................
XDDDD I'm from South Korea too and the J727S is customized with the Knox Enrollment Service that blocks the wifi and cellular data AND apk installization. (trying to uninstall it )
I found this: https://www.androidinfotech.com/2018/02/root-samsung-galaxy-wide-2-sm-j727s-nougat.html
anyone habe twrp for this model ????
Hi.. I've this model also.. tried to downgrade..but it can't..always failed
My friend was installing the twrp to root a J7 metal.
Now the cell phone does not restart, and I do not know what the **** it did KKkkkkkkkkkk
It wants to remove the twrp without formatting the device.
If installing the original rom by Odin using home_csc does it return to normal without formatting?
Restore

[G955F] Flashing a stock rom: Warranty void?

Hello,
Like many users on this forum, I updated my brand new S8+ to Pie/OneUI and I hate it.
However, i've been digging on the forum for quite a while and I can't find a clear answer.
Would flashing the official Oreo ROM via ODIN void my warranty?
And where can I find the official ROM for my particular version of the phone?
--EDIT-- I found it on updato, thanks to a thread i missed
Any help would be greatly appreciated

No it won't void your warranty/Trip Knox.
You can download firmware from either sammobil.com or updato.com these are the two i generally use. ( I see you've found it )
If you do downgrade remember to disable software updates so that you don't go back to pie again.

I read that there's a way to downgrade like it's an update and keep all data and apps installed (via the HOME file on ODIN), is it real?

Firstly before doing anything I recommend doing a backup first. I don't have a preferred method but you could use cloud based service (Google/Samsung) or something like samsung's smartswitch.
You will need to unzip the firmware that you downloaded. In it will be 5 files which will have to be place in the correct sections of Odin.
There will be 2 CSC files:
CSC - clean install will wipe apps and data ( same as a factory reset )
Home_CSC - dirty install will keep your apps and data.
If downgrading you will need the same or higher bootloader version. The BL number is the 5th number from the right of the firmware name you download.

If you modify your phone ( root ) you will loose the option to update ( OTA update ).
If you want to update you phone you will have to download firmware and flash with Odin. Everytime that you update firmware you will have to re-root you phone again.

Generally yes ( mainly with rooting )
You can backup your app/data by using something like Google backup service or smart switch ( PC app ).
Hey guys,
Hopefully I'm not requesteing a completely useless thing cause I haven't found a fix so far. Since it's somehow related to firmware flashing via Odin, I chose to ask in this thread.
I bought my Galaxy S8+ a while ago and carrier unlocked it (It was on Vodafone Romania). Ever since unlocking the carrier, I can't seem to receive any firmware updates for some reason.
Smart switch says I'm at the latest firmware version but according to Sammobile, I'm far from being at the last version. (Still Android 8 on it)
My phone is not rooted (I haven't felt the need to root it so far because it's been doing great). Any ideas how can I fix this and install the latest firmware?
If I download the latest Romania firmware from sammobile (carrier-free version) and flash it through Odin, would it work or I'd encounter a difference because the CSC is Vodafone Romania?
Thanks!
Hey is there a way to root the SM-G975U with security update on july 1, android pie, and a way to unroot? (like the stock rom files)
Thanks

If your device is rooted or if you have TWRP installed, you can't apply the update via OTA
If you want to update via OTA, you will have to unroot your device and undo any changes that you made to the system partition and you will have to replace TWRP with a copy of your stock recovery. Then you can apply the update. You will have to root and install TWRP again after the update is applied.
Or, you can manually download the update from the internet and then use a PC to manually flash via your device's compatible flashtool or via fastboot(whichever is intended to flash firmware on your device).

I already tried what you suggest but to no avail!

Good Morning Everyone,
@Droidriven, thanks for your kind response, but I did what you suggest, re-install Nougat Rom from Htc official link deliberately did not root it at first, click on the OTA & yet, got same complain.
I even tried 2.41.401.41--3.16.401.2_S-On_firmware.zip with it but doesn't still work.
But from my research, this is what I found out that works..
* The Phone (HTC 10) is Hong Kong Unlocked Version with build number 2.41.401.4, [email protected] as its base band.
the ROM that will work must share same details with the one provided above.
Anyone that has Oreo 8.0 (2.41.401.4) Update in RUU file format, should Please kindly share its download link with me, I regret the inconveniences, thanks in advance.
