[Q] Plugin for lollipop notification modes - General Topics

Today I've been playing with the new modes in lollipop and realised that priority is basically the old silent. With that in mind I went to set it up for during the night and for when at work. Problem is you can only choose one start and one end time so I'd have to pick either overnight or work rather than both. A first world problem I know but I've gotten used to automating my phone (cheers llama)
Does anyone know of a locale plugin that could switch between these settings for use with llama or tasker? This would make it far more flexible! A Google search found nothing

I know an app that you can use to do this. It' Atooma. But I'm not sure that it's working on Android lollipop. You can try it, it's free and you can find it on google play store.

Hi, it looks like Atooma is an app similar to both llama & tasker. I'm not after a new automation app but rather a plugin to toggle new settings found in lollipop that can be used with llama. Thanks for the response though.

I want it too!

[Q] Attention All DEVS!!!!

I am in desperate need of an app with a certain function; the ability to choose specific apps/games where you are not to be disturbed while the app/game is running. There's nothing more frustrating than if you're in the middle of a game or a download and a text/phone call comes through and screws up everything. I know with my old Blackberry, I had an app to do just this and it was awesome. I know there are apps where you can choose certain days/times not to be disturbed but not specific apps. It's kind of a hassle to open an app, set it to "Do not disturb" play your game and then remember to go back and undo the Do Not Disturb.
Anyone interested in taking on this task?
Why don't you just use the airplane mode? So you won't recib any sms or calls...its just an idea...
Or search for an app calls automate it!...I think you can trigger actions by time...

tasker can do that on a per app or collective basis

Personalize Google now and App Ops

Hi
As I am playing with my Nexus 5(I just transferred to Android from iPhone), I came up with two questions:
1) How do I personalize Google Now? It seems like anyone can activate it.
2) I saw 4.3 has App ops in the setting, which I cannot find in nexus 5.
Please if any one can clarify my questions.
Thanks!
2) >settings >apps is still there

Sorry I'm quite new to this, and I saw that, but that is different from the App Ops I saw from 4.3, where you can set the permission to each app (such as location access).
Thanks!

Google Now cannot be "personalised" as such. Not by options anyway. It will react to your searches and positions. Once you use the phone with Google Now activated it will learn your work and home positions and times and tell you how long to work and when you should leave to get there on time. It will also do many many other things. Searches with Google Now will personalise it more and more.
I have never seen that app ops option but I do recall something about cyanogenmod having the ability to change an app's permissions. Maybe the 4.3 you saw was actually someone using a custom ROM called CyanogenMod. I'm sure it won't be too long until they release a version for the Nexus 5... If they haven't already.

Android 4.3 had the hidden feature called 'app ops', but you could only open it with a different launcher like Nova. This allowed you to set the permissions for every app installed. As far as I know 'app ops' is not available in 4.4 anymore.
The only reason I ask about the personalize Google now is whoever around me have the same phone saying okay Google and all the phones pop with Google now.
I thought it should tailor to your voice to avoid this happening.

[APP][Not the dev] IFTTT - If This Then That now on Android

I don't see a thread for this yet. This app is similar to tasker in that you can create actions and triggers based on other actions and triggers. It integrates with many web services. Check out their site for more info: https://ifttt.com
Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ifttt.ifttt
Now on to my question - has anyone figured out how to trigger recipes based on other recipes? For example, i have a recipe to upload any image i take to a google drive folder, but i only want that recipe enabled while i'm on Wifi.
Hi, good thing you started the thread.
I installed the app only for one thing, to turn on my wi-fi and sync every week day at 7 o'clock.
Somehow this app can't control device settings based on time.
I find it pretty useless..
If anyone figured it out, please let me know.
Thanks.
Battery drain due to bam_dmux_wakelock. Restrict background data hopefully solves this.

Why do I have to create an account to use it?
Uninstalled.

If you go into IFTTT Settings > Sync Options you will see an option to use Cellular data or not. If you turn the option off, it will only work via WiFi.
For a more sophisticated solution, I would use Tasker in conjunction with IFTTT.

[APP] [3.0+] AutoKeyguard

Not my app but one I've been using for quite a while now. Similar to a lot of apps I've read about recently, it controls your keyguard when connected to a trusted network. Really lightweight and simple app that works really well for me. Device/rom I'm using is galaxy s4 running CyanogenMod 11. Auto Keyguard in Google Play store.
Just wanted to share!
Its my third device on which im doing this with tasker.

Tasker is great but kinda like buying a Swiss Army knife when all you need is a toothpick. If all you want is for your phone to unlock when you're at home/work ect, this app is a lot easier to use for that and with some of these other apps being talked about recently I just thought I would share what I've had good luck with.

Wifi Based on Location?

Hey guys,
I remember seeing a setting to turn the Wi-fi on based on location, but I don't see it anymore. Any tips on where to find this? I just upgraded to Lollipop and now I don't see the settings

It has been removed from lollipop.

You could try Llama from the play store. It's rather complex imo, but is highly configurable for location type profiling and free.

There is also Smarter Wi-Fi Manager from F-Droid which sounds like the ticket.
