[Completed] [Q] bricked mtk6589 - can't load drivers, can't enter meta mode - XDA Assist

Like so many others, i've tried to flash an incompatible rom to my chinese mtk6589 1gb ram 8gb rom knockoff device. (bought on amazon, called newisland) here is the model no.: Alps 09_v89_jbla828_hd
I rooted it correctly, I have the correct drivers. I installed cwm recovery.
I believe I backed it up on mtk droid tools, but i'm not sure it saved correctly.
The first few roms I tried got stuck on a distorted brand page, but at least I was still able to access cwm on the device.
My current situation is as follows:
black screen, device doesn't react to trying to load cwm. When I plug it in, I get a red battery-charging light.
when I connect my device to my windows 7 64-bit computer via usb, I get the sound that the phone is attached. After about 10 seconds, it sounds like it is being disconnected, but it's not. Then it re-connects, disconnects.
I had uninstalled the vcom drivers through usbdeview, and now I am incapable of reinstalling them. The only indication in device manager that my device is connected is under “network adapters” where it shows up as “alcatel single rndis interface #7.” this alternately shows connected/yellow exclamation point corresponding to the connecting and disconnecting sounds of the device. The drivers and the device itself never appear in the list, not even for 2-3 seconds.
Trying to load the drivers independently leads to the message “inf does not support this method of installation.”
spflash tools doesn't show the device as connected.
My questions:
1. is the device a total loss?
2. can I possibly revive it without using the touch point method? (I can't seem to detach the cover even after I unscrew all the screws)
would appreciate any help I can get.

[Q] How to force specific usb drivers to try to resurect an android tablet

I installed incompatible drivers to a LePan II (tc979) android tablet. and it pretty much died instantly. i used to try many things with it knowing that i have the correct usb drivers : AnyDATA_USB_Driver and the official firmware :Release_LePanII_v406_Secured_Fused_fast boot.
But that error made the tablet really bricked, and it wont show any sign of life (wont power on) the only thing i have is "unknown device" in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers tab of device manager.
I tried several ways to update the drivers to the one that is made for the tablet and all i get is "the best driver software for your device is already installed - Unknown device"
even after uninstalling them and trying a few device drivers on my computer...
it just wont work and without being able to detect my tablet the firware cant restore life to it.
Can somebody help me?

Similar issue like this: i605 Note 2 to PC will not connect. ?
You first have to specify your exact device model name, as there are different available for "Note 2".
Then try to use a different USB port on PC, another USB cable, a different PC, install Kies again with phone connected to PC to get the needed drivers installed automatically.
Is something displayed on the screen of the Note 2 while connected to PC?
Maybe you have enable Mass Storage mode and have to confirm it on your device before you can access it from PC.
And for Odin to recognize it, you have to kill all Kies' processes (in Task Manager) before starting Odin. And the Note 2 has to be booted in download mode.
Here is a toolkit for the Note 2: [Galaxy Note2 TOOLKIT V6 GSM] Drivers, Backup, Root, Recovery, Flash Stock Image.
Maybe this can help.

[Completed] LG Volt - Can't factory reset or DL mode, not connecting with PC

Picked up a used LG Volt from eBay for cheap, seller said device is user-locked. First thing I noticed is this is a Boost phone and there is a Sprint sim installed. Thought someone might have been monkeying with the internals. The phone is pattern-locked. I have tried every conceivable combination of button presses/holds and the device will NOT enter recovery mode. All I get is the LG logo coming on and the notification light glowing, then the logo and light disappears, then the logo comes on for a couple seconds then back off again and keeps repeating this cycle.
I connected it to my PC but, since I can't unlock the screen I can't set the phone as a removeable drive and it does not connect to the PC. I have installed the LG Drivers and tried to put the phone in DL mode, however, it is still not recognized by the PC. If I open up device manager on my PC and then plug the phone in the device manager rolls up and back down again like it is trying to figure something out, but the device still does not show up . I have installed/uninstalled the drivers and rebooted my PC several times in hopes that it would connect. I have tried a couple of Android managers on the PC but they don't recognize the Volt either. I have booted the PC into Linux and tried to work with it there but, again, it is never recognized. I have read several post concerning flashing in DL mode, even installed LG Flash Tool, but since the Volt isn't recognized the procedure comes to a halt. I read about ADB but I can't unlock the phone to set debugging and, I believe, the phone needs to be recognized by the PC.
If I could just get past the pattern-lock or get the PC to connect to the phone I feel I might have a chance fixing it.

Galaxy J7 not recognized by computer in download mode

Hello, my friends.
I have a Galaxy J7 that I rooted years ago. I've moronically soft-bricked it by attempting to factory-reset. It's in recovery loop (I have TWRP installed, thankfully).
When I plug my phone into my computer via USB in recovery mode, it's perfectly recognized. I can browse its contents and the SD card's contents fine.
However, when I enter download mode, connecting to my computer via USB shows the device listed as "MSM8960" under other devices. Windows even indicates that it needs troubleshooting but fails to automatically find pertinent drivers.
Because of this, I can't use Odin (it doesn't recognize my phone), and therefore I can't flash a ROM (which I'm almost certain would unbrick my phone).
Can anyone please help me? I've seen similar threads on here from years ago with no answer except rebooting their PC's, switching cables, or switching ports.

How to unbrick my Meizu X8?

I downloaded the program to my Meise through Magisk, and after rebbot a black screen appeared with the inscription "Your firmware is corrupt". The phone does not exit this mode, the data wipe does not help in the recovery mode. The problem is that I can’t connect my smartphone to a PC in any way, I tried everything, even in the EDL mode the PC does not see it. USB cable and the bottom plate are exactly serviceable. I tried to look for testpoints by poking a needle according to the scheme, but anyway the PC does not see the phone anyways. Does this mean I have a faulty processor? Please help me fix this. Before bracking my phone, at one point the PC stopped seeing the Meizu X8 via USB, and now everything is the same, only I just can’t export a "update.zip" for example or use qualcom9008 driver. Hellp
