Galaxy J7 not recognized by computer in download mode - General Questions and Answers

Hello, my friends.
I have a Galaxy J7 that I rooted years ago. I've moronically soft-bricked it by attempting to factory-reset. It's in recovery loop (I have TWRP installed, thankfully).
When I plug my phone into my computer via USB in recovery mode, it's perfectly recognized. I can browse its contents and the SD card's contents fine.
However, when I enter download mode, connecting to my computer via USB shows the device listed as "MSM8960" under other devices. Windows even indicates that it needs troubleshooting but fails to automatically find pertinent drivers.
Because of this, I can't use Odin (it doesn't recognize my phone), and therefore I can't flash a ROM (which I'm almost certain would unbrick my phone).
Can anyone please help me? I've seen similar threads on here from years ago with no answer except rebooting their PC's, switching cables, or switching ports.

[Q] Need a Rom to flash in Android System Recovery

Hello. Newb here so sorry if i make lots of mistakes.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2012) n8010 that is stuck in a boot loop, only flashing up the Samsung note logo then rebooting.
I am able to get into Android system recovery and Odin mode on the tablet.
It reads the SD CARD.
I have wiped data, factory reset and wiped cache partition.
It will not connect to my PC (tried 3 different ones) via the usb cable. I have the drivers installed via the Samsung_Galaxy_Note_ToolKit but the PC's just say USB Device Not Recognized unknown Device Hardware device not connected to this computer (Kies is not installed).
So i cant use the PC to connect to the tablet to use the tool kit or ODIN to flash any recovery.
Does this mean its most likely a hardware problem?
Faulty cable?
Is there a STOCK/CUSTOM ROM that i can install using the ANDROID SYSTEM RECOVERY via a .zip file that i can put on the SD CARD that will pass the signature verification to set it booting normally?
Thank you in Advance for any advice or suggestions.

I have seen this condition a lot lately.
How old is your Note 10.1, do you have the original factory cable and what condition is it in?
Not being able to connect to your computer is not good.

I bought it 0ct 2012 so its passed the 1 year warranty. Haven't contacted Samsung yet.
If it becoming common then is a mass complaint of all the effected units in order?
The cable is the original factory one. Seems fine on the outside. It charges normally and the PC sees it connected but just as an unknown device.
Tried to connect with the Kies (after downloading and installing) not still no connection.
Might try connecting it to my sisters Mac book tonight.
Buy a new cable?
Any repairers in the England sussex area to fix if worst comes to the worst?
Thanks

[Q] Phone not recognized on PC

When I connect my phone to my PC, it charges perfectly fine but it doesn't get recognized by the PC. I installed the Samsung USB drivers, tried different wires, and tried different USB ports. My phone still doesn't get recognized by the PC.Since my phone has been having a lot of problems lately on 4.3, I needed to connect my phone to Odin because i need to flash the stock 4.3 firmware onto my phone from Odin. But like I said before, my phone doesn't get recognized by the PC.
Because this happens, do I need to get my charging port replaced?

[Q] Samsung Drivers aren't properly detected / Download Mode Problems.

Hello people, I have a particulartly weird problem. I have Samsung S7562, Or S Duos. I had Stock Rom 4.0.4, and decided to flash CosmicRom 3 on it, so of course, I'm rooted and I have Clockwork Mod 5 (Custom version). Also, I have USB Debugging On. One day I decided to go back to stock using Odin, and I got stuck. Here's what I tried:
-Connect the Phone to the PC with 3 cables, using 2 different ports
-Pull out the battery in Download Mode, Boot Windows 7 64 Bit with Phone plugged in
-Turning off USB Debugging
-Installing Kies oddly doesn't work, and also I can't uninstall Samsung Drivers, which is also weird (It crashes).
-I restarted my PC and did all these on my second PC, but no success.
I think that the problem is the driver. When my phone is in Download Mode, it gets recognized as a Samsung Modem, with a modem picture, and it gives me Error Code 10, even though I have proper CDC Drivers installed with which I connect it to Odin. What's the problem here?

Cannot connect to my computer!

When I plug in a my tmo galaxy s6 into my windows computer it says "The last USB device you connected has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it." The s6 charges fine but I can't get it to connect to my computer. I also tried a mac and it wouldn't give me any mounting options.
I was trying to unroot and return to stock using ODIN (which is something i've done before) but now I'm stuck in a bootloop and I can't get the computer to recognize the device. I've tried to do a factory reset from recovery but it still leads to a bootloop. Any ideas??
Any help please?....

[Completed] galaxy s3 soft brick? can boot into recovery but not into download mode

hello, I searched but cannot seem to find this situation.
Phone stops at first samsung logo that shows model no and goes no further.
SD card is formatted and there is nothing on it (no backups).
I can boot into recovery (not always), but not download mode. There is nothing available in recovery as card is formatted.
I normally use linux, but used odin in windows.
USB drivers are ok except mtp connection to phone via usb. Phone is recognized as Samsung Android device. I used developer usb drivers and not kies; Should I have used kies.
If someone could point me to a thread that'd be ideal for this situation, I'd appreciate it.
edit:
every once in a while I can log into download mode or recovery. Phone keeps restarting and I have to remove the battery to turn it off and then enter download or recovery.
I can't seem to get the windows drivers to work as the phone is in either booting or in download mode when installing drivers.
