[Completed] galaxy s3 soft brick? can boot into recovery but not into download mode - XDA Assist

hello, I searched but cannot seem to find this situation.
Phone stops at first samsung logo that shows model no and goes no further.
SD card is formatted and there is nothing on it (no backups).
I can boot into recovery (not always), but not download mode. There is nothing available in recovery as card is formatted.
I normally use linux, but used odin in windows.
USB drivers are ok except mtp connection to phone via usb. Phone is recognized as Samsung Android device. I used developer usb drivers and not kies; Should I have used kies.
If someone could point me to a thread that'd be ideal for this situation, I'd appreciate it.
edit:
every once in a while I can log into download mode or recovery. Phone keeps restarting and I have to remove the battery to turn it off and then enter download or recovery.
I can't seem to get the windows drivers to work as the phone is in either booting or in download mode when installing drivers.

[Q] Boot Loop. USB not recognized. SD Card won't mount

Essentially What's wrong:
My phone is stuck in a boot loop, computers won't recognize the usb connection, and my sd card won't mount. My SD card is, however, recognizable if I plug it directly to my computer using an adapter.
What Happened:
I rooted my phone using CWM and Odin in order to remove bloatware and enable tethering. After enabling tethering, my computer stopped recognizing my phone. I tried everything to fix it including factory resetting my phone, formatting cache, data, system, and sd card all under the CWM boot menu (hold volup+home+power). Soon afterwards, my phone got stuck in a boot loop. On startup, it hangs on the white "Samsung" logo. While trying to fix the issue, I noticed that my sd card won't mount.
What I've tried:
I've tried this method, but it requires that I either have usb access or access to my phone. I've tried reinstalling the Samsung driver fifteen times. I've tried formatting the SD card in my computer. I've tried using different computers. I've tried using different usb cords. I've tried clearing the registry on my computer, I've tried scouring Google and these forums for a solution. Maybe I'm blind and missed something.
What I'm trying to do:
The way I see it, I need to figure out a way to flash the stock rom back to my phone. In order to do this, I need to get my usb to recognize. If I can do this, the rest is easy. Does anyone has any ideas on what can be done?

The phone not connecting: I have had this issue before. If you go into the device manager on the computer and show all devices, you can remove all the samsung usb drivers and the root usb drivers from the computer. Reboot the computer and leave the phone unplugged. it will reinstall the main drivers. reboot the phone and hold the buttons to enter recovery, it should still work even while stuck on samsung logo. connect the phone to pc and it should reinstall the drivers and connect properly.

Do you remember at all the name of the drivers that need to be uninstalled? When I plug in my Droid Charge, the computer attempts to install the drivers but it always fails. Under device manager I will then see "unknown deviced" labeled with a yellow exclamation mark. I uninstall that, then plug the phone back in but the same error occurs.
If there are other drivers that I need to uninstall, then I don't know what they're called. None of the devices in the manager say anything referring to samsung.

go to device manager and choose: view >> show hidden devices
then under the usb drivers look for and uninstall the SAMSUNG if any and uninstall the : Generic USB Hub if any, and uninstall USB Root Hub if any, and reboot computer.
THANK YOU
How don't know how I managed to miss this when trying to fix this over the past week+, but it worked. Getting rid of those root usb devices got my computer to recognize my phone, then I was able to easily use Odin to boot it back to the stock rom. Thank you so much. Crazy how such a simple solution can be the answer.

Hello, have tried uninstalling the USB drivers but Windows 10 re-installs these drivers upon restart. My Samsung SM-N750 is still not detected on via USB, and therefore cannot proceed with Odin firmware flash. Do you have any other suggestions? Many thanks.

[Q] bricked samsung galaxy 5830m not detected by pc

I flashed my phone with cm10 I think? every thing went fine with that it was successful, however when the phone rebooted it stops at the samsung logo. The unit will not go into recovery mode. When I put it into download mode the screen shows odin d/l mode and the model is 5830i but my model is 5830m. also the computer does not even detect my device. where do I go from here?
Download a ROM for the 5830m with an Odin install. Go into download and install the ROM with Odin.
pc does acknolwedge that a device is connected
pc does acknowledge that a device is connected, it's as the pc doesn't know that a device is connected,( yes I loaded samsung drivers and Kies). What am I doing wrong?

how to bring back p3100 (solved)

I usually keep flashing ROMS.
This time in sheer confidence I didnt charge the battery full.
I was switching from mokee 4.4 to CM11.
I wiped everything for a fresh install and unfortunately CM11 didnt install.
The tab restarted and now it wont go into recovery. what just happened?
It is just showing logo and I cannot get into Odin more either.
The tab had about 30% battery when it shut off and I cannot reach a charger for it for the next 4 hours.
Can I switch it off in any way to save battery?
the phone has switched off now. Is service center the only alternative? the tab was rooted with mokee installed.

Try charging it when you have time and then try re flashing the stock Rom before taking it to service center
will the tab 2 charge without a recovery or ROM in place?

I think it should
Ok, the tab2 is charging. thank you
I installed all the necessary drivers and odin and recovery on my laptop.
The tab2 is giving error on pc (this device wont start) mtp uSB. THe tab is stuck at 'samsung p3100' logo.
If it is any help, I have a working p3100 also running on stock firmware.
what should be my next step? I think I can manage if only I can get odin to recognize my phone or get into recovery (both of which seem to be missing.)

Try reinstalling drivers
@shsagnik : Thank you very much for helping out.
I got installed all drivers by using the other P3100. But when I connect the bricked p3100, pc doesnt install MTP USB drivers. Under device manager it says " failed to start".
ODIN doesn't recognize it. either.
My mistake was I flashed everything on the phone including the internal memory.
PS: Can I force ODIN to recognize my phone?
Ok, my almost bricked device is back and runnning.
This might just help somebody. but my android handset was on a logo only mode. something in the combination of
Attaching it to pc (windows 7 64-bit)
re-installing and rejigging drivers
trying to let ODIN identiify
connecting via Samsung kies (I also tried restore on kies).
connecting a working android phone instead of the dead phone with pc to find and install drivers.
worked.
PS: I also let it sit dead powered off (worked only when charger was attached) for a whole day before trying to boot into recovery or bootlaoder (both worked).

[Completed] Bricked Galaxy S Advance-No recovery mode,no download mode, undetectable by PC!

Help please! I was trying to install a custom touch recovery with Odin, as soon as i flashed it into my phone, my phone stopped and now I am unable to enter recovery or download mode, the PC doesn;t detect it and it won't boot, just shows the samsung logo with the phone model name (Galaxy S Advance). When i connect my phone to PC it just shows the loading wheel, and from that point I can't do anything with my phone, I have tried all the possible methods of connecting my phone without battery, turning it on before connecting to the usb cable etc. I also reinstalled the drivers but without success.
Please consider these issues:
*I can't enter download mode or recovery mode;
*The PC doesn't detect my phone;
*My volume buttons don't work. I used to enter recovery and download mode via adb and 300k tool, but now my phone is undetectable by PC.

Soft bricked recover data

I hope someone sees this- I know it's an old phone. It was working fine until a few days ago. Seems to be soft bricked. Need to recover data (photos etc) from internal user memory. Please help?
Stuck on Samsung S7275R boot logo. Charging doesn't go past initial spinning wheel. Recovery mode doesn't load (black screen with vol+, home, power). Download mode does enter, Samsung USB driver installs, com port and device detected in ODIN. Tried to flash TWRP and firmware, but ODIN fails to flash anything (stuck on initializing, then eventually fails with device info error). In download mode, device is not recognised in KIES or ADB. Cables and PC are OK- Samsung s3 connects fine.
Is there any way to recover my data without JTAG? Please help!
