i have a problem with my wifi connection. my droid maxx always keeps loosing the connection to my wlan network and have to reconnect after that. this happens every few minutes.
my wifi network is protected with wpa2 and mac filtering is off. the network strength should be strong enough. i am using my maxx in europe, could it be that it maybe has problems with the european wifi channels (in usa as i know there are only 11 or so and in europe we have 13) ?

Did the wifi lose connection while you're using the phone or everytime the screen goes off? Also a good idea to check your router dhcp lease period. Do you other devices connecting through wifi having the same issue?
I only notices this while i am using my phone and my phone is the only device with this problem. Dhcp is set to auto
What build/system version are you running?
i am on the latest stock 4.4.4
I'm guessing that is build 23.3.24 and not 21.11.21 then. Also, what brand and model number is your wireless router?
as i life in germany i am using a "speedport w921v" router. i looked at the internet and it seems that the entire 900 series has wifi issues like disconnecting between devices...
Ah, I would then either wait for a possible firmware upgrade or replace the router sadly.
You could also try disabling the 5Ghz signal (if possible) to see if that helps, or reset the router.
Check the router manufacturer page for firmware update. If its a known issue, there's probably a patch for it.

Hi all,
I have HTC One S from T-Mobile and noticed a big problem with my WiFi connection.
My phone will connect automatically to the wifi network in my home/work correctly, but when I leave and am clearly out of range of my wifi network (say, a km away), the phone still claims to be connected to the network, but I of course have no actual connectivity. The signal strength it reports has varied, from full strength to just a few bars.
I try giving it a minute, but it seems stuck and refuses to officially disconnect from the network. The only way to fix things is to toggle my wifi on and off, at which point it goes to mobile data since it can't find any wifi networks to connect to.
The thing is that I use Wireless Bluetooth headphones and since I started using my new phone, the signal drops (I believe it is because of the Wi-Fi not disconnecting from the network and is causing disruptions to the bluetooth connection).
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? Thanks.

Hi everybody!
I'm using the latest build of CM11S (KTU84P), When i'm connected to my home network (using a Dlink 6740H1 router) the connection to the wireless network will stop after a few minutes.
The wireless icon will become orange and there will be no data transfer what so ever. When I'm connected to other wireless networks the phone works fine and does not disconnects.
The "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" option is checked and the "Avoid poor connections" is not checked, further more I've tried flashing franko kernel but it didn't change anything.
Other phones in the house (HTC one X) does not seem to suffer from the same problem, did anyone ran into this issue before?
Thank a lot!

*cough*
i have a similar problem with the latest rom.. KTU84Q (38R).. my wifi wont connect to my home AP.. never had this issue pre 38R.
Did you find a solution to this problem?
I have the same problem..
I am also having this problem.
I'm having the same issue with our router at work. Have you tried setting up a static IP for your home network?
problem with wifi: i connect to a network (password) and everything is ok until i go out of coverage. when i go back in area, the phone scans/finds the saved network but does not connect auto, i have to turn off/on wifi and then it connects.
on all networks, dosen't matter the router model or type of network (password or free, static/dinamic IP)
Try deleting all the saved Ap and re-add them. Seems it worked for me, now it connects to Wi-Fi. I had many saved from trips (hotels, pubs Wi-Fi with password and many free)

try change channel wifi to another
Anyone having problems with WiFi? My phone seems to easily disconnect from WiFi with the excuse of "Avoided poor internet connection". And it seems to have become worse after the v15e update. My phone is the H959 model from Singapore.

Give us some more info
Whats your router?
You are connected at 2.4 or 5ghz?
Are your channels congested? Try to find a better channel using wifi analyser

It happens on any network. I was on holiday in the US, and it kept dropping the connection. I thought it was just because hotel WiFi are just ****ty in general, but it happened at home and at work too.
The WiFi at home is an ASUS RT-AC68U, and I'm connected to the 5 GHz channel, and channel congestion is not a problem. 2.4 GHz is congested a lot, but the disconnect happens on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Most of the time, I would pick up the phone, and try to access a website and it would take forever. After a while it would say "Internet connection unavailable at *wifi name*". Then after a reconnect it usually works, and loads the page instantly.
At work, I'm wearing an Android Wear watch and installed the network change notifier, so every 10 minutes or so, my watch would tell me that I have disconnected from the WiFi and after 5 minutes it will connect back again... Signal strength is excellent, channel congestion is horrible, but it shouldn't disconnect that many times.

My house WiFi is an ASUS RT-AC68U, and I'm connected to the 5 GHz channel, and the channel is pretty much clear. 2.4 GHz is congested a lot, but it happens on mostly any network.

You seem to have a good rooter. With all my >snapdragon 800 phones and tablets wifi works perfect .
Connection between phone and router is 433mbps. Before you hard reset your phone try to change channel . And try to keep your connected devices at minimum 2 or 3. You can also try pseudo static ip instead of dhcp

All my other devices, be it computers, tablets, older phones, do not have this problem. The problem I face is really similar to this thread below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/help/wifi-woes-t3197144
I suspect it is due to a setting that is found in KitKat to "Avoid poor connections" but that is not found here. When doing a speedtest.net I can get 200+ mbps, so speed is not a problem. My phone just doesn't like to stay connected... Probably will try a hard reset, just need to backup my data.
I have two wifi APs with the same SSID and it will stick to one of them with next-to-useless connection while standing near the other one. which would have much better connection.
This works fine on my Nexus 9 tablet and even better on my iPad and my wifes iPhone..
I tried some possible workarounds like Always allow wi-fi roam scans but I didn't see any effect.
This fix for SG3 might work but i havn't rooted.
Even more solution suggestions
Doesn't this bother anyone else ?
wifi has a bug in 6.X and its been talked about before.
my problem some times when i want to connect to another wifi it connects for a 1 sec and then drops it
i turn off wifi and back on and it will connect
i'm trying the app "Wifi roaming fix" but i think it causes the wifi to disconnect for a couple of seconds when it switches.
Strange that this seems to be of no interest to anyone. Is there indeed nobody who is using one or more WLAN APs in addition to his/her WLAN router? I can't believe that.
I have two APs (Main router and 2nd router as AP) but not for more coverage, my main router pushes 5GHz wifi, the second AP pushes 2.4GHz for older clients that can't connect to 5GHz
The 5GHz router is placed on a wall in the middle of the house and the entire house has great coverage so no need for more APs
I have more APs in my house with OpenWRT and 802.11r aka Fast Roaming configured and roaming between all my APs is working perfectly with all my devices.
Note 10.1 2014 Wifi, S7 Exynos and all other also.
With APs configured as "normal" ap with the same SSID and key i had the same issue as you mentioned.
I think your phone dont know that it could roam between your two APs.
If you could not run OpenWRT on your APs for 802.11r, you could try to enable WDS on both APs even if your APs connected by wire.
We have set up a WiFi router at our summer house and all devices bar my OnePlus 8 connects without problem to the WiFi. My phone connects to the WiFi but not the internet. Have restarted the phone and removed and added the WiFi connection but no luck. Any idea what's going on?
I had this problem with my oneplus 8, European version, where at times internet connection would drop, but wifi was still connected so the phone was in effect blocked since I use VoWiFi both voice calls and data was blocked.
The problem turned out to be between my router and the oneplus 8. I had to go into the settings of the router and disable a feature called "band steering". This setting will make the two different wifi gateways inside the router, the 2.4 ghz and the 5 ghz appear as one and the same with the same SSID name. This is supposed to simplify setting up devices with wifi but is known to cause problems sometimes.
As soon as I had separated the two and given them different names, I no longer have a problem with internet access dropping from the wifi.
I have no idea where the fault happens, I only know that I have had to disable band steering with another router I had before. I think this feature might be a bit unstable.
No idea what's happened but this morning it just worked.
