[Q] Application Preferences - Sony Xperia C

After installing the custom ROM for KitKat (Stable Release) I couldn't keep any app preferences, after turning of my phone. The keyboard i've choosen go back to default, the accounts i've saved are erased, so i have to login again on each one...
Is there any way to solve it?

THis one.
But I identified that the problem occurs just when the app is installed in the card. Is there any way to solve it?

I've made everything as described. Also, tried to wipe everything and install again, like 3 times. When facebook, outlook and one drive app's are installed in the SD card, they don't save the login and password after I reboot, and then I have to login again.

Newbie questions before changing ROM on Desire S

Hello,
I have few questions to ask before changing my ROM. Many of these already should have an answer but it's better to ask for me, even if I've already searched the forum.
Data on SD Card: as far as I understand, flashing a new ROM doesn't affect the SD card data. Isn't it? In this case, old applications that have been moved to the SD card continue to stay there. Do you think it's the case to make a cleanup of those applications before flashing?
I've done a backup using ClockworkMod into the SD Card. I've read that somebody had problems restoring such a backup in case of necessity. Is this so risky? If I launch the backup restore through CWM, does it restore my previous ROM (the official one in my case) with all my previous settings without any problem?
SMS Backup: I think I can use an application like "SMS Backup & Restore" without any problem even the ROMs are different. Isn't it?
Contacts and Calendar appointments: I use Funambol to sync my contacts and appointments with. What I need once I've flashed the new ROM is simply to install Funambol on the device and start the synchronization? I guess the answer is yes of course, here.
Applications installed using the Android Market: what does it happen when I login with my gmail account? A massive install starts? My applications should be restored automatically without any risk to loose my application on the Android Market on the web? I hope this is true also for AppBrain.
I saw this is the last 3.5 Sense ROM. Is this stable and safe to flash?
May I select Italian language for the new flashed ROMs or they are only English?

If you flash a rom you sd card will not be touched.
you ll not need to reinstall all app, unless you don t format data.
Market downlods automatically all your previous downloaded apps
It s very annoying.
Your google account will sync your Contacts and calendar
Clockwork will restore your backup so it ll restore your previous rom
Sense 3.5 need hboot 2 to work propriely.
Virtuous is a good rom with sense for old hboot
All rom are universal instead of MIUI,you can choose any language.
If you have other question, you can pm me in italian

1. Data on SD card will not be affected. However old apps on SD card will not be recognized any more. You can use Titanium to backup and then restore your apps.
2. In case of fail on ROM restore, you can use RUU to fallback to your official ROM. Just go to Settings\About phone\Software information to write down your ROM version so that you can find appropriate RUU later.
3. Yes, I think. Or you can use My Backup Pro to backup.
4. You can sync Contacts and Calendar to your Google account and restore them later.
5. If you add your Google account right after 1-st booting, the phone will do a massive install from the Market, and this could lead your phone to hang and may cause to fry an eMMC. Just let it boot as normal without adding Google account, and you can add later in the Settings/Account & Sync.
6 and 7. I have no idea.
Thank you very much guys!

These two things make me confused. As far as kylon says and as far as I understand, if the /data directory wiping is not performed, I will automatically find all the application installed on the new ROM, but only as regard the applications on the NAND. Even this sounds me a little be strange but possible, so is this something that avoid me to reinstall all the applications using the Android Market as vndnguyen says at point 5?

Do you suggest to install that hBoot after or before flashing the 3.5 Sense ROM?
Thanks a lot.
you should wipe all partition before installing new ROM, this is mandatory, so the only way you can restore your installed apps is via Titanium backup (for 3rd party apps or apps from unknown source) or Market (for apps from Google Market).
If u install a rom without wipe anything the rom will wipe only /system,so when you boot the rom all your apps will be there and the new system is installed

So it seems there are two contrasting opinions here. Despite that I've seen that it is suggested to always wipe all partitions maybe I'll do.

OK, thank you. It is all clear now.
By the way. I've seen that ROMs like the Virtuous have the overclock.
I don't want the overclock damage my Desire S, so I would like to know what do you think about that and if it is recommended to install the patch mentioned in the "Important Notes" anyway.
I don t like overclock but sometimes can help
Personally i m using set cpu 998/192 smartass
I actived jit and other tweaks to improve performances so my phone is fast with a low cpu(teted 850mhz fully working)
I don t use any patch

Anyone tested? Bugs?
Inviato dal mio GT-I9070 utilizzando Tapatalk
yes i've been testing it like after 1 hour it showep up on Maclaw website....
it has 1 serious bug(like maclaws says) - Wi-Fi failes to start sometimes...20% of times you start wireless it will fail. It just says wireless is turning on...if you reboot it will work normaly again..(until error pops up).
and is a little bit slow...still improvements have to be done... this is first release...
BUT THE REST IS WORKING PERFECT... ....30 sec GPS fix(i was indoor)....no in-call low volume(is actually quite high)...
this is the first public release but i have been using it and testing for a month now...bugs which i found are as follows
wifi sometimes takes too long to avtivate, had to reboot phone
camcorder is dark and flash always on bug
touch doesnt work after restart if dont use the phone for sometime
battery drains much faster than 10.2 might be cm issue
low call volume
other than these no major issue or lag in operations
For me no bugs at all
The wifi bug was there at first , but once I cleared cache it was solved
and the video is not dark and no touch bug either
Only one thing the battery drain is more compared to other roms
But overall its good
for me wifi bug is present
no other issues found yet
Contacts problem
Even though I've backup my contacts in my sd card as .vcf file, after installed CM11 I couldn't restore my contacts, I receive "no such .vcf found" error. I can't see my contacts except Google account contacts. No phone number I also can't access my sd card. cant see it in file manager file.
Do you have any ideas or solution?

for the SD card problem i recomand using ES File Explorer...stock file manager doesn't see the SD Card...
for the contacts problem...take that .vcf card and copy it to computer and open it with something(I think there is something from Microsoft Office Suite that opens it with no problems) and manually get all your contacts.
TIP: when choosing to save a new contact, save it to google account. this way you cand install new ROMS without any problems.
Can somebody test and say if the compass work in the this rom.
It doesn't seem to work for me.

To access your sd card with stock Explorer (it's not stock!) you have to go settings - advanced settings - access mode - root access.
And ES Explorer is the best alternative.

@tasosf A LOT better than hybrid, it's sooo smooth, you have to try, backup the hybrid and install it. No need to wipe.

I heard Whatsapp is not working on this build, and that if it works we need to clear the previous back up and then install.
Also, Whatsapp has some issues with 4.4 custom roms?
Can Anyone please confirm this?
Thanks in advance

It is not working at all, for any phone using ART.
It is important to note that even in version 2.4 final, Xposed is not compatible with the new ART compiler. And at this time, it is unclear if it will ever be made compatible, as it would require a major rewrite if it is even possible at all.

[Q] Wired bug after installing new google camera app

Hi,
After installing today the new google camera app from play store I noticed that it does not show as installed on play store but it was. So I decided to run uninstall all updates of the camera app with the settings. After the next reboot my phone showed me that I have to sign in to my google account (like on the first boot), so I did it. I checked the accounts on the settings menu and noticed that all accounts was cleared even my wifi settings. Now I wanted to delete this buggy camera app and restore it with a zip file, so I booted into recovery and noticed that cwm can't mount E (my SD Card).
It is the first time something like this happened to me. Do I have to be worried about my phone?
Phone details:
Nexus 5 with root with unlocked boot loader
Cyanogen mod 11 m5

ok, then youre not as bad off as i was fearing. first, if you dont want the new camera app, go to the phones main settings, apps, find the camera app, open it and press uninstall update. the issue with your recovery is different, ive seen many people with that issue these past few weeks, honestly i dont know how its solved, but people have solved it. id go to the thread for your recovery and ask about it there.

it didnt "cause" the problem, it was just coincidence. installing/uninstalling apps have nothing to do with the recovery, nothing. the "cwm can't mount E" is a very common issue though.

[Q] Play Store Error on Lollipop

I'm running DH's Lollipop ROM and the Play store has been giving me -505 errors when I try to install certain applications. It is not during the download period, just when the app attempts to install itself. This happens with APKs as well. Is it an issue of Lollipop compatibility? I'm trying to download Chronus in particular.

Make sure that you did a clean install of the rom. If you were in TWRP there is a advanced wiping tab. Try wiping internal data (that does not wipe external sd card). This is probably a fix. If using some other recovery it should come with a similar feature. Hope this helped

I had the same issue. Just curious, but did you try and use Titanium Backup at all? I did, and it failed. Must have broke something. A clean flash did the trick for me.
I had the same issue but only with apps that I attempted to restore with Titanium. I had to do a full data wipe and reflash to be able to install those apps again.

Yea I did and it just hangs up on that restore until I FC the app and deselect from restore. With the ROM I'm using Chronus (for example) is an optionally app to be installed and it installs that way but isn't the most up to date version and the update from the Play Store doesn't install either. Weird issues for sure.

I have flashed the ROM and love it except this issue that I am also experiencing. I also have TiBu but did not use it for the app restore. Rather I used Google Play and it failed to install Any.do. I have tried manually and read extensively online and the problem appears to be related to Adobe air not being Lollipop compatible. I finally email Anydo and they are aware of the issue and are providing me with a link to their upcoming lollipop beta. My point is I don't believe reflashing, re-restoring, or rummaging around in the data/data folder will fix the 505 error.

After reading further I decided to uninstall ALL Task apps, which included Chaos-Control. I was then able to install Any.DO. It was a permission issue and it conflicted with Chaos-Control. Lollipop is confusing app permissions. Find the like app, uninstall, and then install the app you want. That worked for me.

Hello guys, I am using leeco 1s (x509) phone which is rooted(supersu 2.89), having twrp (2.8.7),Stock rom (19s).I am having a problem that I am not able to copy any files to Android\obb folder. Please help me guys.

Did you used dual boot patcher in the past or using it now? That creates the problem!.. do one thing.. if u have secondary rom wipe it..(if not then follow next steps).. go to twrp.. then go to /sdcard/android/ and delete obb folder and then go to /data/media/obb and delete it.. and then wipe cache partition.. then reboot! Check if problem is solved or not....
If not.. then again do the same things but this time wipe dalvik too.. hope it'll solve the issue.
