[Q] mmx unite 2 custom rom - Micromax A106 Unite 2

this doubt may be stupid me. but I want to get clarified.
I own a mmx unite a106, rooted with ctr recovery installed. I have a backup of size 3.5 gb.(stock rom)
my doubt is that, if I install a new custom rom and wish to revert back to my stock rom is it enough to restore this backup alone? will I have all the previous apps?
will I face any Issues?
please reply me.

You may find plenty of roms online including the rom in xda but not every one is working so the one which is working specailly on bricked device is mention here and there is around five to six links which points to file location for custom rom from 500 MB to 704 Mb in size download and use it
http://gaming.netalien.biz/2015/04/bricked-micromax-a106-how-to-unbrick.html

it will do but it is better to format system and then flash stock rom via recovery or spflashtool...becoz it give you better stable performance...

Can someone help me....(sorry for my bad english) today i traid to flash [ROM][LF2][15.10.2012]TheFrankenstain^MODv.3.8 #1 after that it was keep loading at the" android" logo so i tried to flash it again...but now it is stuck at the samsung logo and volume up + lock+ home (recovery) now work anymore
Did someone know how i can flash it again without recovery?
PLSSS HELP
-Removed for Personal Information-
i think it is not bricked, it is just a bootloop. check if your downloaded rom is complete. beter redownload the rom and flash it. follow the instructions on flashing on that thread and you will have no problem. flash a stock rom first using odin then flash the custom rom afterwards
Ok thx guys...and i have 1 more question ...there is a diference if i flash stock and after that i flash custom? is smoother or faster or idk...?
i saw in some printscreens that they get high quadrant score but mine is max 2300MAX ever
it is always advisable to do a clean flash ( stock rom first before custom rom). but some custom roms have the option to directly flash from one custom rom to another. everything here is trial and error. so whatever works for you may or may not work to others.

[Q] (How To) (Galaxy Tab P3100) Restore Stock Rom (4.1.1) from CM10.1 Milestone 2

I have p3100. I just installed Cyanogen Mod 10.1 M2 on my galaxy tab P3100 .
I am not liking this rom . No offense. But the stock Rom was far better.
My plan now is to install Sungsonic Hd. It looks cool and have all the features of Stock with extra features.
Now, AFAIK before installing this rom, i have to revert back to 4.1.1 from 4.2.2. (because sungsonic is based on 4.1.1) Right? If not please correct me.
Now, please tell me if i can directly install sungsonic hd? or if i have to install the stock firmware?
If i have to return to stock firmware, how can i do that?
Important
I have Odin3 1.85. The stock Rom file and ARIESVE.ops (somewhere i found that this file is needed to revert back to stock rom) ..
Now how do i use these files and return to stock rom? Please xplain it in steps if possible. Also tell me what do i need to wipe and etc. Like do i need to do wipe cache etc?
Thank you guys. I love XDA developers btw. :good:
/ok guys.
Now what I did is that i installed Sungsonic by CWR mode by choosing zip from sd card. I wpied all cache and did factory reset.. everything as the page of this rom suggested.
I have been able to install this rom easily but i think something is wrong. 4 or 5 apps are not opening properly. When i click on widgets bar, the system ui crashes..
Now, how am i supposed to revert back to stock rom ?Now my current ROM is Sungsonic rom
You should have made a backup of your stock ROM, before flashing anything. This would have made recovery quite easy.
Well, i didnt make any backup or anything.
Now, can i revert back to stock rom?
Well, guys i just installed the custom rom by choosing stock rom md5 file in pda. Then installed.
All went sleekly. Thank you guys. Now I will be Installing a new rom again. Please delete this thread mods.

[ROM] Official THL W8+ adapted to THL W8

Official THL W8+ ROM adapted to THL W8 (4GB/8GB) - Android 4.2.1
Version: ThL_W8.JB2.HD.EN_MT6589V1.0.3_20130425 - International
Since THL is somewhat forgetting about THL W8 4GB/8GB owners regarding official international 4.2.1 ROM update
I decided to take the latest one from THL W8+ and adapt it for W8 purposes.
This is the official ROM without any fixes/modifications.
I am not planning to mod/fix stuff in this ROM - so please, don't ask me to.
If you are looking for a modded ROM, install GravityMod2 instead.
I am sharing this for those who want to be running official THL unmodded ROM, or just want to get a taste of it.
This ROM is installable via custom recovery.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND using my ClockworkMod 6.0.3.2 recovery since it's the one and only recovery that can make fully consistent backups (I coded in some MTK6589 specific features).
This means that restoring ROM that was backed up using this recovery will get you to a fully working previous state without additional messing with SP Flash Tool to flash other essential images.
Read carefully before you proceed
- Full wipe is needed to upgrade from Android 4.1.2, or any other ROM that's not based on this one.
- Working image of ClockworkMod 6.0.3.2 is included and gets flashed automatically
during ROM installation. TWRP is not possible for now because of kernel image being too big in size making it
impossible for TWRP image to fit 6MB partition. So for those currently using TWRP, don't be suprised that
your recovery is suddenly changed to CWM after flash.
- returning to previous ROM that was backed up using custom recovery is possible only in case you used my ClockworkMod 6.0.3.2 to backup your previous ROM.
All other custom recoveries will simply not work because they are not "MTK6589 friendly".
So I strongly recommend to flash my CWM 6.0.3.2 and perform backup using this recovery before proceeding any further.
- ROM uses kernel from the official chinese W8 4.2.1 ROM running at 49 FPS - this is because I wanted to make this ROM as close to official
as possible.
- Boot animation and logo look oversized since they are made for FullHD resolution. This does not affect the ROM functionality in any way.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR DEVICE.
Download
(Link removed until GPL violation issue is addressed)
Installation instructions
1) Download installation ZIP package and put it on SD card.
2) Reboot to recovery. Turn off signature verification if it's on (ZIP is not signed)
3) Backup your current ROM - again, I strongly recommend using my ClockworkMod 6.0.3.2 recovery (as I already mentioned above)
so you can easily restore previous ROM if needed.
4) Perform factory reset (wipe data, cache, dalvik cache)
5) Install ZIP package downloaded in step 1)
6) Reboot
i will try it
is it ok if i find it ok that i modify an mod it
thank you for those who want to test it

salut Julien,
use this guide to tweak sound level in engineer mode : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41145394&postcount=140
in Normal mode, you should increase sph value : level 6 is 160.
There are still bugs in this ROM, for instance date&time settings crashes...
But I really like :
- G-sensor and Proximity Sensor Calibration utility : is it possible to include it in GM2 ?
- I find that photos taken with this Camera ap are better quality, am I wrong ?
Unless those little things, I prefer far more GM2 than stock 8P128 official ROM !
GM2 already has calibrations, mate

??? where have you hidden it ? :silly:
In stock ROM calibration is in settings.
In GM2, I just can't find it....
The same place as in the stock rom: Settings / Display

1) it's a long time since this bug is known but still unsolved by ThL engineers...
2) this ROM is not as stable as GravityMod2 for instance.
3) it seems that rooting method is not the good one, GravityMod2 ROM is already rooted.
You right i try the gravity mod ans its perfect
Tanks a lot

As you are already aware because of your other thread on CMW 6.0.3.3, ThL_W8.JB2.HD.EN_MT6589V1.0.4_20130515 is out:
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=411503&uk=4213659546
I know. This thread is deprecated, anyway, and the link is removed due to GPL violation (because I included kernel without linking to source code (which we don't have, anyway)) and thus violated XDA rules. I've already asked mods to delete this thread.

[Q] Custom recovery and CWM Recovery-on-boot for stock ICS

I've looked all over this forum and I hope that I can get a definitive answer here. I don't feel like my use case is that unique but I'm going to be as specific as possible and hopefully get as concise and complete an answer as possible.
Until recently, I was running a custom GB-based ROM. When I was running GB, I used the Atrix 2 Bootstrapper and RAZR-CWM-Recovery-on-boot-J.Y.Daddy (or whatever it's called) to get CWM Recovery on boot and make backups and so on.
I ran the return to stock script from my GB ROM and am now running the stock ICS ROM that I got from the official OTA upgrade from AT&T. I've obviously rooted it.
I want to make a backup of my current stock rooted ROM with CWM Recovery. To my knowledge, the old bootstrapper method does not work on the official ICS OTA upgrade. I don't want to multi-boot with BMM, I just want a custom recovery so I can run CWM Recovery to backup/restore/possibly flash a new ROM.
I know that most of the new ROMs include their own custom backup, but that leaves me with no way to get back to the new stock ICS ROM (to my knowledge, I may be wrong).
If the simple solution is not possible and the only solution is to install Numa or Paranoid or the unofficial CM ROM, that's fine, I'd just like to know.
Thanks in advance.
My advice would be to just use BMM from the play store, edit the recovery.fstab as shown in that thread.. And make a backup with that.. Use tar format I think (if there's a choice - sorry I have not made a backup on this phone in a while).
That should be good to restore with other recoveries.. Plus you can uninstall BMM and don't need to multi-boot..
But, wait, I thought the old a2 bootstrapper worked fine on ics...?

I actually haven't tried it yet, that's just the general "feeling" I got from what I had read thus far. I was up super late last night fixing three or four soft bricks before I got my phone to a working state again and now I'm taking the cautious route. The bootstrapper doesn't count as a custom recovery, though, for the purposes of creating a backup with CWM Recovery, right? As in I'll still need to find a custom recovery to run a backup.
That is, of course, assuming I don't just use BMM to take my backup now. I suppose I had planned to go with a custom ROM eventually anyway, probably Numa, or maybe the CM ROM (if it gets a little more stable here pretty quickly, I suppose).
I'm pretty pleased with the stock ICS ROM over my old custom GB ROM (SCv6), which is why I'm now circumspect about trying out a new custom ROM without having a way to easily get back to where I am now (because I lost my backups the first time, like an idiot).
Thanks for the reply.

why not multi boot using BMM? checkout Numa, it has all the stock ICS goodness but debloated and much faster. see for urself
i'm using it and its much better than ICS stock

Well apart from bootstrapper and BMM we don't have any other custom recovery for Atrix 2.

Yup as altered said. But from my understanding you don't want to multi-boot right? Then you don't need to edit recovery.fstb.Just install it from play store install the hijacks and make a backup(in tar format preferably you'll find the option in there)

I really don't see logically why would you be so hell bent to avoid BMM.

You can do two things:
1.Install BMM make a backup of your current system.Install the custom ROM you want.Restore whenever you feel like.
2.Install BMM.Edit recovery.fstb(don't go after the name you just have to edit some text).Leave your current system on system 1.Install any ROM you like on system 3 and/or above. No need to restore.Switch between your choice of system whenever you wish.

[Q] using droided HD2 but need flash new cwm 4 new rom

I have http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2224469 rom on my T-Mobile HD2 already and want to flash a new rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=769026 ) that requires 150MB partition and I'm pretty sure my current one is around 285MB.
I remember how I went from stock HD2 to android but idk what steps take to go from a custom android rom to a different custom rom.
I have currently on my PC
--custom rom zip I want to flash
--recovery v1.3_150m
--HD2 toolkit v4.2 but idk how to use it(but hear its better/faster than manually doing everything)
