Anyone having trouble getting cwm recovery to stick after the 5.0 ota update? I tried flashing through adb and through the ROM manager app in the app I get a error message after it tries to flash it. adb says it flashed OK but when I reboot into recovery it still has the stock recovery.

I have flashed my phone a couple times with the leaks from here and now I am at the JB 4.1.2. but not with the premium suite. Is it possible to go back to factory and receive the official update from Verizon or is there a leaked build with the premium suite available. I have looked and not found any.

I have used the nodata wipe versions of the build in the past using ODIN. Will that link work with it?
Thanks.
The link is to a full ROM you flash in recovery. So if you have root, unlocked the bootloader, and installed a custom recovery, you can flash the ROM in the link (and the firmware in post 2) and be on the latest official OTA.
If you are still stock and haven't got the latest OTA, you may just have to wait until it gets pushed to your device.

Pardon my ignorance, but can you point me to the instructions on how to use those 2 files. I have only done Odin before so that is why I am not too sure what I would do after downloading both zips and putting them on my SD card. Thank you!!
So you are rooted, with unlocked boot loader an custom recovery? Not sure by your post. I assume you are since asked about going back to take an ota.

That is what I am not sure abaout. Each time I downloaded a link and installed it I used Odin v3.07 and also got firles(from xda) that had No Data wipe. SO if that means I am rooted, I am not sure. I have downloaded, then connect phone to Odin, install file and voila, it is back up. That is why I do not know. Thanks a million!

I would suggest you install ROM Manager. Once installed (it will only work if you have root), you can have it flash a custom recovery (Clockwork Mod" or "TWRP). You can then use the ROM manager to boot into the recovery you just flashed. Once in recovery you can flash those 2 zip files.
You would be well served to understand this a bit better but the ROM Manager will get you there with a minimum of knowledge. You can search here on XDA for instructions on flashing with CWM or TWRP, whichever you choose.
Good luck

I am trying to root the phone and it keeps telling me that there are no privileges???? I am trying to root and just cant get past that.
Go to the play store and download a root checker (there are several free ones) and it will tell you if you have root. If not, use one of the many guides to root. I suggest this one, follow this guide to root and install custom recovery Once you are rooted with a custom recovery you can flash the rooted version of the VRBLMD3 and the associated modem, RPM. etc.

I just tried flashing AeonFlex and I thought I had bricked my phone. When I rebooted from the recovery after flashing the LG logo would come up for a second and then an all black screen. I couldn't do anything. I tried everything and eventually I got it into recovery and restored the stock backup I made. Is there a problem with my recovery maybe? I used the recovery from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2589950 because I got a G2 with 10o already installed. Is there a specific version of twrp someone can recommend for me also with instructions on how to flash it to this G2 with 10o?
I tried flashing the 2.6.3.3 zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670 but I keep getting a "failed" result in the twrp that I flashed from the other thread above. Does anyone have a working recovery for the AT&T G2 with 10o that they could post for me please?
Update: I can't get any rom to flash at all. I've tried all different twrp recoveries. I can backup and restore fine but I can't flash a rom. Is there an updated loki or something I'm forgetting to do? Has anyone with a G2 with the 10o OTA gotten roms to flash? If so, PLEASE help me out.
Anyone? I'm hurting here lol.

I had same issue. What happened to me is when I took ota from 10b shipping build to 10o then I rooted and installed twrp with freege. When I did this it would only put a older version of twrp and would never update. Threw numerous reInstalls and attempts to flash zips of newer version 3.3 at the time it would not update nor would it flash a Rom would be able to wipe backup and what ever else but flash a Rom would end up black screen and would have to flash backup.I tried with cwm and same result.but I did manage to flash New version of twrp. Threw cwm so I thought I was finally good. Wrong!! I tried everything. . only way out is to return to stock period!!!! I got back on stock and installed newest twrp and can flash every rom out there for my device..finally happy flashing!!:thumbup::thumbup:Hope this long story clears this up.

Sorry if this topic has been discussed, I tried searching a bunch before posting, but didn't really find anything.
I have a P3113 that I thought I rooted and installed CWM a very long time ago, but never installed any custom roms or anything. Since then I've updated to JB with OTA updates.
Last night I tried installing CWM 6.0.4.8 with this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642005 so I can install a rom of KitKat. Everything in Odin says it was successful, but when I try booting into the recovery mode, it is not CWM, its stock Advanced Boot Loader 3e. Also when the stock recovery loads, it says "No Command" upon starting, and also I tried a cache wipe, and that gave an error.
I'm too afraid to wipe the data partition or factory reset. Did the OTA ICS or JB updates unroot my device? do I need to do it again? My flash counter was at 0 so I know I didn't try anything in the past that I don't remember, but now count is at 4 since I tried CWM multiple times. Do I need to downgrade the stock rom to something before JB?
Thanks for any help!

First of all check if your device is rooted I would say use root checker in google play store if not re root your device
Secondly you can also try to flash any recovery in zip file from your phone's stock recovery check the thread given below for flashable zip file of CWM after flashing reboot into recovery and you should be in CWM recovery....

Reroot...and try newer recovery from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548257
Great thanks guys! I'll try tonight when I get home
I just recently got the newest update. I downloaded all 99mb of it, plugged in my charger and it rebooted to update my phone. But when it turned on again my phone hasn't been updated, it's still 4.4.2. Checking for updates doesn't work at all.
Anyone have a clue where the download is stored so I can just try to manually flash it?

I read somewhere that the script will abort if your device is rooted. Not sure if this applies to you.

Incorrect. Root has nothing to do with it. You will lose root after updating, but it's as simple as flashing SuperSU in your custom recovery to get it back. The reason it's failing is because you have a custom recovery, and are trying to apply the OTA from within Android. If you do that, you have to have stock recovery. If you are stock, just with root, you can flash the OTA.zip using your CWM recovery. The OTA.zip can be found in the /cache directory. I believe it reverts your custom recovery back to stock recovery, but getting it back is as easy as fastboot flashing it.

Hello it's been several days i can't find a solution to my problem. I flash official RTFR 4.1.2 via RDS Lite and then i upgrade to Kitkat 4.4.2 via OTA update.
When my phone reboot i have The Unlocked Bootloader Warning logo on the screen, but i lost the root.
This is the version i have: 180.46.127.XT925.CEE-Retail.en.EU.
I did install a recovery (Philz Touch, CWM,) but when i reboot to recovery it was not working and i had the google Droid with a red triangle.
I'd like to know if it is possible to root my phone in order to flash the CM12 ROM? Or with this official update i'm stuck with 4.4.2 and won't be able to root?
Thanks for your help.
When you install a custom recovery after taking the OTA, the recovery will usually ask you to disable stock recovery restore. If you don't, then the stock recovery will be reinstated upon next boot. Once you've got a custom recovery installed and disabled the stock recovery, you should be able to root it from there. Most modern recoveries will handle both the disabling of stock recovery restoration and install root (su) for you.
I know the one I use does.

When i installed the recovery it didn't ask me to disable stock recovery restore. Where do i get that request, on my phone or on my PC? Which custom recovery that allow me to disable the stock recovery do you recommand?
After you install recovery, immediately power off your phone, boot straight back into recovery (not the OS, otherwise stock recovery will over ride the aftermarket recovery), once in recovery the update script will complete and the installation will be complete. Once in the recovery, you can choose the option that CW mentioned.
