Hey.
Is there any posibility get back Kitkat lockscreen an dialer after Lollipop update?
Well it wouldn't be called Lollipop if it was still Kit Kat now would it?
Go back to a kit Kat rom. I thinks that's your only solution for now.

So I did, but that is really not a solution to the problem. I want to remove the heads up messages on the locks screen and replace this are with the security lock so that I do not have to swipe up to get to the pattern unlock/pin for the device.
I guess you can edit the lock screen applications in the rom, I am all up to it, but lacking the experience to know where to start.
I think what many are going to want is the features from the Kitkat lock screen (those of us who use it as a music player rather than wanting all those idiotic notifications) while using lollipop. About the only 2 features of the new lollipop lockscreen I like are that the camera is easier to get to and the flashlight. Other than that, I want the old one back. If someone made an app that would add these features back to the lock screen for lollipop users, it would be really popular on the Google Play store.

Hi all,
I am looking to try a new lockscreen other than the default HTC lockscreen to get more information at a glance. However, all of the lock screen replacements I have tried seem to sometimes have a slight delay where the HTC lockscreen shows for a second before the custom one I installed shows up. Is there a way to prevent this from happening, and just have the phone go directly to the custom lockscreen? I am rooted and s-off which should help. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you used the ViperOneM8 custom ROM? In the tweaks it allows you full customization of the lock screen + other screens. Nova Launcher in combination with ViperOneM8 is how I have my phone and I couldn't be happier! ?
And they're releasing a new 3.x version within a couple weeks, if not days over the new 4.4.4 firmware.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I used to be running viperROM, but I was hoping that the lockscreen would give me more information at a glance kind of like how the new Lollipop lockscreen looks. I looked though a lot of the settings, but didn't seem to find what I was looking for. I will be looking into the new version once it drops, because I definitely liked the ROM, just wished the lockscreen could be customized the way I like.
Maybe a theme download? Sorry

If you go into the /system/priv-app directory and re-name the HtcLockScreen.apk to something like HtcLockScreen.apk.bkp then it will default to the AOSP lock screen after a re-boot. I am doing that and using the DashClock lockscreen widget. I'm happy with the results. You also get the full-screen music art on the lockscreen, which I like having back.
I like the G3 interface and many of the features. I prefer less bloatware than AT&T comes with and I don't need all of Goofles crap either, but I an get rid of them. I just want a rooted ROM with the Nexus dialer. I've tried most of the ROM's posted here and none of them have it. I don't really want to use a 3rd party launcher to do it so any suggestions? Anything I might have missed?
You can get .apk from here http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...ll-it-manually-on-other-kitkat-roms-download/ i used the flashable version on cloudy v1.2 and just go to app drawer and move phone to home screen(blue icon not green one)
I'll give this a try...
But from what I've read you can't fully replace the stock dialer and the caller I'd feature doesn't work. It's worth a shot though, thanks.
I am new to the whole phone hacking scene. I have installed Cyanogen before but that's about it.
I read the bootloader on the flex 2 is locked.
Then I read about xposed.
If I just want the visual side ( notification area dialer and such) of marshmallow does this help me out is it more for tweaks?
Thanks for the help I appreciate it.

Xposed has some modules that will tweak certain functions (GravityBox for Lollipop). Sounds like you're looking for a launcher replacement. Google Now Launcher is the closest thing to stock Marshmellow you're going to get on the Flex 2 right now.
Thanks. And I am in fact using the Google now launcher with the Google keyboard. Sounds like that may be as close as I can get right now
I just updated to 5.1.1 (I know) and discovered the loss of the ability to put widgets on the lockscreen. Reading about it I discovered that Notifidgets was recommended to restore that ability. But I can't find it anywhere including the Play store.
Was it removed or discontinued for some reason? Are there alternatives?

The lock screen widgets as they appeared up until 4.4.4 was removed by Google when they released 5.0. The official reasoning was that they were "security issues". So you are extremely limited in what you can use now that you've moved on from KK. There are apps like NiLS for example, that offer a little more usability on the lock screen, but honestly nothing like what was on KK and below.,
Thank you for replying. I can see where they could be a security problem, but it is a real shame. I've looked at the options of using notifications as a partial solution but, you are correct, they are far from satisfactory. Makes me consider flashing kk again! Maybe xposed has a module to restore lockscreen widgets.

Hi. I would like to explain what i want to achieve and maybe some of you guys can help me out.
I am on stock Nougat with my S7. I've tried lineage and some other roms but I am not very satisfied.
I woulld like to stay on stock, but get the closest to stock as possible.
I would like to: Install Pixel Launcher and Assistant (i heard that might come soon anyway). I want to disable HW buttons and add on screen nav bar (i think maybe xposed can do that). I would like to flash google apps, like phone, messaging, etc.
Is this possible? I saw I can root my nougat s7 just not sure if what i want is achievable. Thanks!
Dan
The closest I've gotten without rooting or changing the kernel was doing the following:
- Buy and install Nova Launcher and find a backup on the web that will restore it to look like the Pixel.
- Install Pixel Icon Pack-Nougat Free UI
- Go to the theme store and install Pixelize or Material Design.
- Buy Package Disabler Pro from policedeveloper to disable Samsung apps (no root required)
That's the closest to stock I got.
Why not use the Google Now Launcher? Swap Samsung's stock apps for Google's and add in the pill widget etc if required too. Should be able to get close fairly easily.

That would only be a temporary solution given Google will remove it soon from the store.
