Looks like the ghost armor is available for the edge now.

Any thoughts of using this as the only protection, instead of buying a case?

Depends on what you are trying to protect from. My biggest concerns are scratches on the body of the device and resting on the camera lens. This would certainly help with the former, but not so much with the latter. The smallest of cases do the trick for me as drop protection isn't a high priority for me, but I do want the entire back protected from scratches/scuff when laying on a table.
Ghost Armor has that sticky feel that bothers me. Definitely grippy though. I have doubts whether it would 100% protect a device against a 3' drop and kiss with asphalt on a corner.

I had the Zagg kit on mine. I did not like the feel. I went back to Ghost Armor. I have had everyone of my devices protected by GH going back to my WM 6.5 I love them. Their kit covers the the screen; edge to edge. It also covers the top, bottom and left side of the frame.

How is it with the s-pen? Does it leave indentations in the ghost armor?

They both seem good but which one provides the best protection for the Epic?
I believe the Otterbox does. But its way too thick and ugly. Id stick with the Active X case just because it already provides good protection, in a slimmer more stylish way.
I've seen several people says the Otterbox clips scratch the keyboard and need to be broken off. That's why the seideo cases have their clips at the top and bottom rather than the sides.
I have the Otterbox Commuter and it's pretty good.
It does add a little bit of bulk to the phone, but it is well protected.
And it certainly does NOT clip the slide-out keyboard or anything like that...everything on it fits like a glove. The top half (bezel) has one side that is chamfered to avoid any possible contact when sliding out the keyboard. Maybe someone else put that bezel on backwards, or they revised the Otterbox for the Epic.
Overall, I'm happy with it...and it came with a good screen protector as well.
My colleagues use the Innocase and it's a great product. It has saved their phones from breaking from being dropped (and in one case thrown) around and landing on marble floors.
I am not sure how great it is for repelling water. I'm assuming that the Otterbox would be better for that.
seido causes scratches also :-(

I just ordered a Seido case since the cheap one i bought at a mall kiosk clips' broke on the front protector. How bad are teh scratches?
I have the active X case the case clips for teh back of the phone clip onto the metallic looking part of the phone so I don't see where scratches would occur. The clips for the face protector is at the extreme top and bottom of the phone as well so I don't see any scratches on my phone.
I think Otterbox is the best protection but they seem too bulky and ugly to me.
Ugly wtf its a case....... and its not bulky its just a little husky
Sent From My Cyan Samurai
love my seido case. adds just the right amount of bulk to the phone.
I also like the belt holster for the Active X case. I usually carry my phone there rather than in my pocket. No way the Otterbox would fit comfortably in my pocket.
I have the Otterbox and my wife has the Innocase.
The Otterbox has given me no trouble while my wife's Innocase has broken 2 clips without having ever pulled it off.
Plus the Otterbox comes with a screen protector.
again. ugly wtf?
I have the otterbox and it doesn't scratch up keyboard. And it protects well from drops. And if its bulky or "husky" that just makes it a tight fit into your pocket and les likely to drop I with good grip. And on the terms of protecting your phone I suggest getting the flygrip as well if you text one handed often
I've never used it before, but I've heard good things, which is making me consider buying a full body protector. My question is this: who's used one, who's going to be getting one, or if you're opposed to the thought of it, what would you recommend?

I've used just the screen protector on my Sensation... I liked it immensely better than the Invisible Shield. However, they still don't have them in stock. I have a Skinomi coming from Amazon; that has full body protection as well

Skinomi is probably my next choice, I'm just not too certain. Also, I have a ghost armor in cart from their website, just to make sure they were available.

I had one on my G2 and I hated it. Crazy orange peel and it would scratch very easily. Was not durable at all.

I would go with best skins ever. Cheaper than skinomi but has less orange Peel effect and arguably just as good

Don't you guys like XtremeGuard? Which one would you recommend, XtremeGuard or BSE or Skinomi?
I recommend Armorsuit or XOskins. Armorsuit is available on Amazon and XOskin here. XOskin original price is more expensive but they are good but use 55% off coupon code cybermondayftw on XOskin when you checkout and today is last day for the coupon code. Hope that helps. I have heard people complaining that other screen protectors was missing the cutout for the proximity sensor but XOskin has the cutout so I ordered XOskin. I don't know if Armorsuit has the proximity sensor cutout or not but I know their quality is good because I have used them before too. Hope that helps.
I guess I'll be the odd man out and say I'm really impressed with ghost armor. I used it on my gs2 and my gnex and plan to get it for my n4 also.

I feel the same. Ghost armor feels just like glass and I've never had anything close to the orange peel feel on my nexus one/S/Gnex. I just received my shipment from ghost armor for my nexus 4 and can confirm that the glass feel applies to this phone as well. Going to get it installed at the mall kiosk because I'm so bad at it. I can report back if anyone is interested

installed it two days ago, and just like every other ghost armoured device i have and had, I LOVE IT...definitely recommend it

Is it possible to take some pictures of the ghostarmor on the phone? Thanks. Do any of you also have some sort of TPU case as well? Was wondering if that fit over the Ghost Armor.
I swear by Ghost Armour... the best, in my opinion

Nexus 4 (temporary one since I haven't been to the mall to get the actual one installed)
Defeats the purpose a bit, I know but it's got the TPU case on it and the edges (volume and power button side) cannot be felt, nor is the screen protector affected by the case (unlike my GNex - the POP! case is really tight)

i also have a tpu case on top of my full body ghost armor, but one side is a bit stretched out and wont fit 100%... nothing really noticeable !!
I put ghost armor full coverage on me and my girlfriends phones and she would just toss the phone in her purse and there would be no scratches when we went and got FREE replacements at the ga kiosk there was no scratches on the phone. I'm probably going to order one today... Possible two sets of full body protection

I can vouch for the quality of Ghost Armor. Used these screen protectors for all of my devices. It adds good protection and just the right amount of "resistance" to touch, all while maintaining excellent clarity considering the durability of the material. Good scratch protection and self-heals most of your typical little scratches. I currently have one on my N4, and I am not disappointed at all. The guys and gals at the booth do an outstanding job applying it, and you have a lifetime warranty on it. Can't beat that.
I can also vouch for the quality of ghost armor as well. The camera and proximity sensors are perfectly cut out, and it feels just like glass. It has a wonderful texture and clarity unlike any other screen shield I have used before. I have a tight case on and it doesn't peel at all. Their warranty system is excellent as well, a free replacement if your current one peels/dents (I have yet to experience this). If you do go for the replacement, you may want to bring in your old screen protector if you peeled it off, as the mall stand near me requires that you bring it in order to receive a replacement.
One thing I dislike is that it doesn't cover the curved edges on the right and left sides. I hope they will fix this in an updated version of the skin, but otherwise, to me it is the perfect screen protector.
I also recommend these guys. Outstanding product with a lifetime warranty. I had the screen protector put on my Nexus 7 about a month ago and I am just as happy with it as from day one. Since then I've had my wife take her iPad Mini in for a screen protector as well. Certainly worth the money spent, although I can't vouch for the skins.
For those that go naked (no case), have you gotten any scratches on the fake aluminum edges?
I'd like to use no case and have a screen protector & back skin but worried about scratches on the edges.

I bought one for my S3, those things are so cheap and crappy I wasted my money. However I bought a nice from Draco Designs ( which wasn't cheap) but definitely quality. FYI I emailed them this morning and they replied that one for the S4 will be available next week.
So far I have had no case on my phone (about a month) and there are no scratches. I have only a "Just Like Glass" screen protector
This is what I just put on mine.

$14.95 ArmorSuit MilitaryShield - Samsung Galaxy S4 Screen Protector Shield Ultra Clear + Black Carbon Fiber Film Protector
Skin provides nice traction as opposed to stock slick back cover. Edge skins included.
The sides scratch very easily! I highly recommend some type of protection if you intend on keeping your device in mint condition!
Its actually nice metal on the s4 so not the plastic coating like on the s3

Not the metal trim ring around the phone itself, but the chrome bezel that's bordering the display has scratched fairly easily on both mine and my wife's with some minor drops. I definitely wish I would've got a case for outings sooner.
The aluminum trim around the outside of the phone however has remained scratch free on both.
Mine has a small ding in it, and I don't ever recall really dropping it. It does bother me though, and I'm certain I had to have dropped it at some point, as it's on the bottom.

I second the Neo Hybrid. I bought my S4 about a week ago (changed from the OG note) and spigen is completely wrapping it with the screen protector and the Neo since day 3 (had to order the case lol). it doesn't add too much bulk, it levels out the back so your phone isn't resting on your camera when you set it down and it provides a lip so you can set it face down and won't even touch the screen protector and for a total of $30 my phone is completely covered and not too much bulk added.
Also NFC works and rumor has it wireless charging should work too.
Its the best case I have purchased, Im about to buy the Glass Screens from Spigen.
I skipped the glas.t and went to their Ultra crystal screen protector. Over in the i717 section there's a HUGE thread going over the Glas.t and they started out awesome but the later posts say that they're getting peeling up after a couple months and was probably due to a change in the adhesive. Plus with the extra thickness of the glas.t the home button would be recessed, with the Ultra crystal the button is level with the screen protector. And at $7 for the ultra clear you get 2 and MUCH easier to apply.
Been completely naked on mine for about a month. No scratches on the glass, chrome bezel, faux metal ring around the outside, or battery cover. I don't drop my phone, haven't ever shattered a screen in 5 years of having a smart phone. I keep it alone in a pocket, and that's it. All my phones have been treated this way. The One X looked like it went to hell and back after a few months, but my iPhones, Captivate, S II, and Note II all survived really well. My wife is not so gentle, just throws it in her purse. So she has a flip case on my old Note II she is now using.
The only place I have seen any of these phones show wear is on the back when they rub when placed flat. On the S II it was the lip below the battery door. On the S 4 it seems to be the bottom lip of the chrome around the camera lens. That small section is scuffed. Otherwise this naked phone is pristine after a month of use.

I was wondering if anyone has dropped there Note 3 with a Slim Armor case? How did it come out? Was it a drop that you said thank goodness I had this case.
Looking for max protection without a huge case like the defender.
I'd like to know this as well...

I am using a Neo Hybrid. Dropped my phone from my lap, while sitting in the car while trying to get out of it. Dropped onto the road. It hit the bottom part of the phone, where there is a small scuff mark on the Neo Hybrid case. The impact must have be really strong as my SPEN was ejected from the phone. A glass screen protector was used and as it was quite thick (thicker than most glass SP) the top part of it cracked. My phone is dent free and the original screen is perfectly fine.
I have the slim armor case and i dropped my phone face down on concrete and it was fine! Only issue is that is scratches very easily, but i would rather it was the case than my phone hope this helps!

Does anyone have the Samsung Silicone case and also the Nilkin equivalent silicon case they could compare for me?
I like the Samsung silicon case but the bottom cut out is a huge turn off. However, the Nilkin silicon one doesn't appear to have the bottom cut out but appears to have reduced thickness in general. Was hoping someone who has both could interject. Thanks.
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
I had them both. Both slippery, the Niilkin less thick and more protective obviously of the bottom. Gave them to friends, not acceptable protection either of them for me.
Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
Mine just came in today. Protection seems decent, bottom is a bit different. It feels funny holding the phone now as I rest the phone on my pinkie finger and it's just the back edge of the case. This thing picks up all kinds of link and crap. Using it for a few days to see if it grows on me, if not it'll go back.
Got my Nillkin silicon case and I must admit it feels wonderful to hold. Protection is minimal but I knew that already. I wish there was other cases that felt this good. Apart from the feel good part, I like the fact that it doesn't have any harsh edges.
