Lost baseband while updating or rooting Lollipop - Shield Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. I bought my Shield Tablet LTE on Amazon. Somehow, while updating, flashing cwm, flashing boot, etc. in order to root Lollipop, I JUST realized (after a couple of hours) that I have lost the baseband on my tablet. Everything works smoothly, but when I go into About -- Device -- Baseband --> UNKNOWN
Could it be I flashed the US version of LTE and my shield that I bought from Amazon was LTE but not ATT branded?
Is there something I can do to restore the baseband so I don't have to go and install everything again?
Thanks!
Carlos

fixed it. I had used the wrong boot image.... my Shield Tablet was bought from Amazon, unbranded LTE. I had used the International LTE boot image, not the US as I mentioned above. With the US LTE image everything worked. Sorry for this confusion.

I had the same issue after I OTG my LTE to Nougat. After I did a factory reset, I lost baseband/IMEI. I contacted Nvidia and advised me to flash stock recovery image. I confirmed my LTE is International so was recommended to use RoW image. After I successfully flashed the tablet, it got stuck on reboot loop. Homescreen comes on for 3 seconds and I could make out no SIM detected, but unable to use tablet as it keeps rebooting. Did you have the same issue when you used the RoW image instead of USA?

Cross flashed TF700?

I would like to ask something, what I've read is not possible. I think I've just cross flashed a WW model TF700 to US.
1. I didn't know which model I had, but the recovery started with saying WW
2. I flashed TF700_421_US_BootRec_Flasher_Signed
3. After rebooting, it had the blue bars go to full, and I was stuck at the Asus screen as I had no ROM.
4. This moment I thought I bricked the device. It went black for minutes nothing happened, except for Vol Down + Power up for 5 minutes.
5. Somehow I was able to start it. Now is starts with US recovery... Strange!
How do I know if I have US model or WW model? Is it possible to know it from serial number?

the question is where do you live and do you know what's the original model when you purchased the tablet? In reality, you can use either US or WW as long as you flash the correct SKU bootloader and use the same SKU rom version.
OK I realized I was on a WW model, since after unlocking + flashing TWRP, it started with WW on top! This is actually I think the best way to check which model you are on!
Later I cross flashed to US, and the tablet started! But I cross flashed back to WW and it works fine!

[Q] FIDO Razr HD LTE problems!

Hello all -
New to Android platform. Hope someone from this great forum can assist ... I'll try to be brief. First, my device:
Razr HD LTE xt925
FIDO
Android v.4.1.2
Had attempted a little while ago to unroot my phone, as I was curious about better customization options. For various reasons, I tried to 're-root' and go back to factory. Did that, upgraded from ICS Jellybean 4.1.2 (which is what my phone was on when purchased).
Now, when I boot the phone, I still get the message 'Bootloader is unlocked'. After upgrading from ICS to Jellybean, I saw a large number of Verizon specific apps. When booting the phone, instead of the Motorolla 'M' icon/splash, I get a 'Droid' icon, with sound-effects. Also, System Version shows as 9.16.XT926.Verizone.en.US (even though my phone is an XT925 on FIDO). I obviously fudged something up... !
Most importantly, ever since, my GPS is very spotty, and I cannot get on the FIDO LTE network. In Mobile Networks setting, I have to always have 'Global' selected as network. If I choose LTE/CDMA or GSM/UMTS, it can never find an available network.
I'm really just trying to get my phone back to the state is was when I purchased it.
Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

Here's the JB file for Fido/Rogers:
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/van...12.2_CANADA_VANQJBLTEFRCI_P004_CFC_fb.xml.zip
Thanks very much for your reply. I did try flashing with the FIDO file you quoted, and my phone didn't take it. I booted to fastboot, current drivers, and the RSD Lite message I got was:
Failed flashing process. 1/21 flash partition "partition_signed" -> Phone returned FAIL
The corresponding message on my phone was: Failed flashing process. 1/21 flash partition "partition_signed" -> Phone returned FAIL
Hope someone has an idea on how to successfully get back to the FIDO Android v.4.1.2.
Thank you all!
Have you removed the Getvar lines? You can also try the Telcel rom with Fido modem/fsg files placed into it. (That's what I had before custom roms because Fido was slow with JB).
Yes, I did try when removing getvar line in the xml.
I stated erroneously the error on my phone after trying the intitial FIDO flash - the phone error in fact was:
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for GPT
I appreciate the input. Any other thoughts on this? I regret trying to unroot the damned thing in the first place... !

From what I can see, those errors come when trying to downgrade to ICS through RSD but you are trying to install JB so that makes no sense. Since you are bootloader unlocked you can probably flash the files through fastboot?
no worries man...calm down...you'll be fine...i had the same issue..i'm actually using an xt925 as well; had the same issue a couple of days back...see the issue is the ROMs that you see for xt925/926 is actually the ROM for verizon, so when you flashed a custom ROM, it actually flashed your GSM radio to the version radio, which is CDMA; These are the steps you need to follow, and you're good to go, trust me:
1). After deleting the getvar line, delete 2 lines below it as well, so lines 12 and 13, then try flashing with this new xml file. really imp, this will take about 5-10 mins, then the phone will reboot, dont unplug the cable yet, it's gonna reboot, and ask to sync phone with SIM, do that....and you're good to go.
2). Root.
3). Install TWRP, preferably 2.5, then backup your stockROM.
4). I would recommend using Matt's utility for xt926, and you can perform all the steps in sequence.
note: Since you unlocked your bootloader, you will always get that warning message, it's normal.
lemme know if it works!
eomahos I am in your debt. Worked like a charm!
In step 4 you indicated using 'Matt's utility for xt926' ... I'm not familiar with the utility. Do I use this to install TWRP?
Thanks again man!

Hello, i recently thought about flashing a rom on my phone, i did all the basic stuff unlock boot loader, root etc but when i put the file on my device i got stuck in a bootloop, so i panicked a little and went on to google to find a STOCK ROM for the moto g. I found one and flashed that instead, it did infact save my device and i was so happy at the point, but then i noticed that at the top on my task bar it said i had no signal on BOTH Sdcards when infact this phone only has 1!? (my o2 simcard was in at the time) Anyway i went into setting and it had above he wifi setting "Dual SIM settings" which i have never even seen before. Anyway i clikced on that and it says 'SIM1 Disabled' and below it says 'SIM2 Disabled' Also my Mobile DATA has vanished to. All this worked before i went and screwed up my device. Im kind of in a panic and really dont want to loose this phone :crying: :crying: Please can anyone help get me back my signal and data, other then that everything else is working normal.

You have flashed a single sim variant of the stock ROM on your device, find the dual sim version for your phone here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14
Also, of course your data has gone as your phone has undergone a reset and firmware flash
All of them are not for 4.4.4 or does that not matter?

Absolutely. From experience, you must flash the dual sim variant. Unfortunately, there is 4.4.4 available, but only for the States. You might PM me the OTA update package and I'll be able to help.
Sent from my XT1022 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Cant find it?
Cant find any for O2 uk or retail UK or duel sim or even 4.4.4
I Messaged you please reply. im abit of a noob to this website haha

[Q] XT1034 US GSM Model, Need correct radio flash.

I have a XT1034 that I put the wrong lollipop update on (I think it was for an XT1032), and that led to it having no sim card detected.
I finally got it back in a usable state by going back to 4.4.4 and flashing the radio files I found in this file. (Sorry still can't post links.)
"Fix Modem issues for XT-1034 Moto-G.zip"
Then it was still glitchy (screen issues), So I've applied the 5.02 Canada AWS firmware, and everything seems to work except that I only get H or H+ for a connection.
I've not gotten 3g. I'm on Straight Talk with an AT&T sim, and My daughter has the exact same setup, but with stock roms/etc.
She has no problem getting 3g.
My goal is having the USA Lollipop back on here, with the correct radio flashed.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

H/H+ is 3G, it's just that in America they only use the 3G icon.
If you want to restore back to USA firmware, flash this via fastboot https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6RNTe4ygItBQUN1SXJxYWtuY2M/view Instructions are here on how to do it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47820707#post47820707 When flashing the system sparcechunks keep note on the file name, it's named differently, so if you copy the command from the instructions it won't work because it's named differently on the zip.
After restoring to stock kitkat, update all the stuff on the playstore and then check for update, then you'll get the notification for lollipop. If you don't here is the OTA zip for lollipop, here is the Lollipop OTA for USA XT1034. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1zN8A3HtCVkdFF2b2dVU0hXUDQ/view?usp=sharing Copy it to your internal memory. Boot into stock recovery and follow the kitkat instructions to get the menu https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/97329/p/30,6720,9050 Select update from sdcard and select the ota zip and it will update to lollipop.
edit: I just noticed that the stock lollipop firmware for american xt1034 is available http://www.filefactory.com/file/149mdexndh9n/XT1034_FALCON-RETUAWS_5.0.2_LXB22.99-36_19_cid9_CFC_1FF.xml.zip You can skip installing kitkat and just flash the images via fastboot with the instructions I mentioned above.

Well I tried this first and it acted correctly, but never went past the unlocked bootloader screen. (I left it there for 15 mins or so.) So I did the downgrade to 4.4.4 again and was able to get into the os, and then copy the ota over and apply it using stock recovery.
Thank you very very much.
I've missed my Moto g.

I'm glad it worked! I think I know why your first attempt didn't work. There are 4 sparsechunk files in the zip and the link with the instructions only has commands for the first 3. You have have to copy the sparsechunk command again and change the number from 3 to 4 or .2 to .3 depending on how it's labelled in the zip.

Flashed modem on my XT925, and now I am stuck at the boot logo

Ok, so I did something stupid, I was on CM12.1 nightly with basically everything but LTE working, so I looked around for quite a bit but couldn't find what to do, so I thought maybe I inadvertently used the wrong modem when I unlocked bootloader/installed CM12.1/etc.
I downloaded a firmware for my device model/region and got the modem_signed and fsg_signed files from it, I used fastboot to flash them, the fsg flashed just fine, but when I tried to flash the modem I got the following error '(bootloader) Unknown chunk type. FAILED (remote failure)'
After this my device gets stuck on the CM logo while booting, I can still access recovery and the fastboot, I tried reflashing CM12.1 but that did nothing
Looking around, apparently one of the things I did wrong was that I used the wrong fastboot, motorola has their own fastboot for their devices, so I got that and tried reflashing those files, but no luck either
Can anyone help me with this?
I managed to get out of the bootloop, I was a bit desperate there because almost every link I tried was dead, but after a while I found this website with the 4.4 firmware http://fwteam.grupoandroid.com/RAZR HD XT925/ and the modem/fsg files from that firmware worked(with the proper fastboot).
But I still have the LTE problem, my phone can't connect/find any LTE networks, apparently this isn't a problem with CM12.1, does anyone know what to do?
Depends where you are, xt925 may or may not support LTE frequencies. For example my xt925 connects to LTE in USA but not in EU.

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention I was able to connect to my carrier's LTE network when I was on stock JB/KitKat, so I think it shouldn't be a problem with the LTE band/frequency.
This only started after I unlocked bootloader and installed cm12.1(following the recommended steps).
