[Q] Mobile Network Not Available - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Been with Straight Talk since August 2014 with this phone. No problems until 2 weeks ago when my service suddenly stopped. They replaced the SIM card, and it still doesn't work. Everything is fine on their end, they suggested it might be a phone issue. Anyone else have this problem, or does anyone know what I can do to fix it? Phone works great otherwise on wifi. It recognizes local cell networks, it just won't connect, even when I try it manually. Thanks!

[Q] Fried Radio? How to Test?

My MyTouch 4G slide has been sitting for a month or two after previously working fine. Now it powers up however it can't get a signal with my T-mobile SIM (or my wife's). I'm concerned that somehow the radio might have gotten fried. So far I've reflashed it back to stock, unrooted, and hard reset it a few times, nothing has worked.
If I go into Wireless & Networks, drop down to Mobile Networks, Then Network Operators, and "Search Networks", it takes a few moments and finds AT&T & T-Mobile (I'm in an area where my devices normally get full T-Mobile service). However when I try to connect to T-Mobile, I get a message saying "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network". Same SIM works fine in a G2, connected to T-Mobile.
Anyone have a way to test the phone radio, or perhaps have an idea on what it's issue is?
I have had this exact problem, and attempted the same solutions, but without success. Was working fine, and then 1hr later quit working and was not able to repair even after return to stock/deroot, etc. Doing warranted return, and just got replacement phone by mail for swap out from t-mo.
am a little worried about reroot and rerom in case I have another problem.
My device is doing the same thing. Not sure when it started... I havent used the MT4GS in a few weeks, picked it up and reset it back to stock everything, and it's not getting any service from any of my SIM cards. I unlocked it a while ago to use on AT&T prepaid SIM, and not even that will work... Any advice would be helpful...

I've used Z-Device Test by Zausan Innovacion Tecnologica to test just about everything on my phone.
I'm having a similar issue on mine after trying jupoeanutbear and failing. I have signal but data craps out at random times now.

[Q] Nexus s i9290a mobile network unavailable

Hey everyone,
So here's my problem. I have acquired from a friend, a Nexus S since I grew bored of my blackberry. Its running ICS 4.1.1. I am trying to set the phone up to work with my old sim card, but when I try to make a call it says mobile network unavailable.
I've gone through the APN settings for Virgin Mobile, tried to search for networks and it always comes up blank.
I've reseated the sim card, had the battery out for half an hour, left the sim card in for a couple hours (various tips from searching on the net for this issue)
The sim card works in the blackberry still. It connects fine to my wifi network.
I've checked the IMEI numbers, baseband numbers etc. So far nothing seems to work. I'm going to see if the cell phone booth guys can help while at work but figured asking here was worth a shot too.
I haven't tried any rom flashing or whatnot, since I've never done this with any phone previous. And most of the issues i've found on here seem to be similar to what i found on the net so far.
Thanks for any help

[Q] Missing network operator

I'm not sure if this is a network issue or a phone issue. I just got a replacement phone from Google. Popped in my sim 2 days ago and it was working fine, OTA 4.4.4 updated the same day. Came to work today and it was working for about an hour, and now it says there is no connection. I go to the "network operators" list and I only see ATT on there, which doesn't work for me since I'm on T-mobile. Other people in my building have T-mobile too and their phones work just fine, so I'm guessing it's not a tower issue.
I've tried restarting the phone as well as taking the sim out and reinserting it. Anything else I can try?
Phone is stock, not rooted, not flashed with a new rom.

T-Mobile Wifi Calling Error: Reg90

Has anyone had this error message with their Z3? I have searched the web, and all that I can find is that Tmo needs to send an update to the phone to fix. Called customer service, waited for the update, restarted phone, and nothing. They then said to switch out the SIM card, and that did nothing either. Any others?
Yup, the same exact problem, they sent a sim update, new sim card, hell I even had them send me a new phone. Same thing. E911 is also set up correctly, lol they know where to send the bill. My daughters all have the one touch fierce and their WiFi calling works perfectly. My wife's m8 also works fine. What's the freaking problem.
I had that for a day and it dissapeared, my dad's M8 had it too and it went away somehow in a day or two.
This has been going on for 2 weeks now and no one seems to have an answer
I guess mine was slightly different.
Apparently TMO has to send you an OTA update. Also make sure its enabled in services in your MyTmobile account under services if not just tick the box and enable it.

I bought my mother-in-law this same phone (as I already have the D6616). Her phone had the same problem as you. Took me awhile to figure what happened, but like others have said, you need to contact T-Mobile and give them the error code. (I did this over T-Mobile chat) They in turn will push out a quick OTA update (can take up to two hours). Bad thing is I never received notification that it had updated, and I even asked the T-Mobile rep if I will see the update, and she stated yes. So, after two hours, and you still don't see the update, go ahead and restart your device. Once it reboots, your wifi calling feature will be updated and will then work. Oh, MAKE SURE YOUR WIFI IS TURNED OFF and WIFI CALLING IS TURNED OFF AS WELL! Your device will not update if you are not on the T-Mobile cellular network (as needed to push out the OTA). Be sure to turn on wifi calling once phone restarts and then you’re free to also turn on wifi.
Wifi calling error code reg90
U need to setup "e911" information with your service provider.

[Q] Google Nexus 5 - No Mobile Network Issue

Hello,
I am from India. I had purchased a Google Nexus 5 phone (Black/ 32GB) last year (December 20th, 2013)
I have started facing a serious issue since yesterday. My entire mobile network went down all of a sudden. Tried using other SIM but of no use. The same SIM works fine in other phone. Other functions including WiFi in Phone works perfectly fine.
A couple of things that I noticed are:
1) When I try to search for the Network manually, I get the message "Error while searching for Network".
2) I noticed that the PREFERRED NETWORK TYPE is defaulted to LTE. I cannot select any other option 2G or 3G.
3) When used Choose Automatically option - it starts with Automatic Registration and then flashes an error "Can't connect to this network right now try again later"
I tried doing a Factory reset hoping that it would work. But, no success. Have contacted LG Direct Service Center (since I bought it from retailer and not from GooglePlay store) and they suggested it's a PCB problem and it needs to replaced which would cost me around 12K INR. Which I am not ready for.
Please let me know what needs to be done. Any help is highly appreciated.
Regards,
Vijay

He's clearly not in airplane mode.
I have tried with all basic troubleshooting options, kindly check the attached screenshots. Please please help needed urgently.
I was going to make a new thread, but his problem matches mine almost exactly.
Hi guys, i have this problem for over a week now.. A very frustrating week i must say. I got this n5 about a month ago, my uncle got himself a G3 and gave his nexus to me.
Everything was smooth, amazed by the phone, everything working fine, happy as hell. It all crumbled when I went to spend the holidays at my brothers, where he lives my carrier doesn't work (everyone uses another one). When i got back to my house where the mobile network works fine it just stopped. All other sims would work on my phone and my sim work on other phones.
I gave it a time, thought it would be cause i spent too much time on my brothers and it would be ok after a while. It didn't. Then i started to worry and try to fix it somehow. First i got a new simcard (same carrier), no bueno. They told me to restore my phone and stuff, it didn't work. The phone has always that empty triangle, doesn't matter if it's 3G, 4G or 2G.
So I came to the internet look for help. I saw that some people had bring this to the LG, their response was to do a recovery with fastboot and then put 2G on the mobile network. For a moment i thought it was over, my phone finally had some bars !! But to my disgrace I can't make nor receive calls, i can only send/receive SMS and access internet thru 4G, not 2G as the support said. Oh, if i put 3G or 2G dem bars go missing and the empty triangle ****er appears again. Still, my simcard works on every other phone but now only one carrier works on my phone (not mine unfortunately).
Then I started looking on forums like this one and a whole bunch of others and tried many things, all of them unsuccessful.
I tried many things, maybe forgot some but will list those that i remember.
I tried to flash the factory rom. Then tried to flash only the radio of previous androids (tried too many of them to count). Dialed that *#*#4636*#*# or smth, put LTE/GSM, only LTE, activated/deactivated radio. Airplane mode on/off. Tried to recovery on fastboot again. Tried to make new APN. To finish my story, put a Cyanogemod rom and it also didn't work.
So now i decided to post here as my last shot before i go to that carrier that still works. Also, what guarantees that this carrier won't stop working like the others? I'm afraid that may happen. Further informations, i saw many people complaining about T-Mobile and other carries, but I'm brazilian, so it's not one of these. My carrier is Oi and the one that still works is TIM.
The two threads i got most tips were these and some sites in portuguese:

Thank y'all in advance and sorry if my english make it hard or impossible to understand.
My fingers are crossed!
