hey guys. one problem.. i want to go back to stock ROM. i am supercid and s-off so i understood that i can use any RUU, but i downloaded one and failed because it says get the correct ROM update utility. i locked the bootloader too.
i have maximus hd atm , so which RUU should i use?
Hboot 2.16
Radio 1.20
supercid
s-off
Did you run the ruu while your phone was in fastboot mode? Otherwise the downgrade won't work.
Edit: As you already said, it doesn't matter which ruu you take since your phone is S-OFF. If you try to run an ICS ruu be sure not to install OTAs if you're on superCID or you're going to brick your phone.

hello.
i have sensation that is s-off and rooted.
now i want to unroot and i am confused.
i know that my phone came with 1.xx.401 firmware and i have same RUU.
now, do i really need to change to supercid?
RUU will remove revolutionary and CWM and i can do secureflag3 later, right?
i don't see the point in changig cids
thanx
The Super CID is needed to downgrade the HBOOT as Revolutionary changes it to a non-standard one. You can try it without Super CID but if it doesn't work then you'll need to use it. you can then change it back to your current one before running the S-ON command
i've done it without supercid with no problems!
my phone is now stock with s-on
thanx for help!
Wasn't sure if it would work or not, nice to know you don't need it for your own RUU
Is there an S-OFF available for HBOOT 1.20? Saw "locked" after flashing 1.20 and S-ONed phone. Finally unlocked using htcdev but nothing I found could help me downgrade HBOOT and do S-OFF again. Do not have SuperCID atm.
there is a thread on this your still rooted even though it says s on
Yeah, I am still rooted and can get into recovery and flash ROMs. But I am having issues with signal and I cannot flash anything because 1.20 does not support fastboot commands. I would like to downgrade but cannot. I tried flashing the customized p85img.zip with my CID T-MOB010 and it would just return to menu w/o any messages.
Make sure it's p85img in the file name.
Don't INSERT .zip at the end. It should automatically be a .zip file.
The file is named correctly.
There is a thread here ima try and find it were you can revert back to hboot 1.17.0000

i m facinf d same problm wit my sensation with bootloader unlocked thro htc dev. i m unable 2 flash any radios. Even i m unable to flash any custom firmware also. I need ur help if u found any solution.
either downgrade your hboot to 1.17 or update to ics 3.24 which has hboot 1.27 (unlocked) and you will have advance fastboot commands
Same exact problem here, semi-bricked my phone before I went over to Htcdev.... attempting to flash a p85img for HBOOT 1.17 or any p85img does nothing but parse it. Searched all day today couldn't find a thing to help...Others have suggested just waiting until Revolution comes out with an Unlock for 1.20 but I'm determined to find a solution for us.
Hello!
I followed this guide to downgrade my original HBOOT version 2.00.2002 to 0.98.0000. After that I used revolutionary to S-OFF my phone. But now I have to revert all this because of the warranty.
Now I think I have to install the old hboot version from this post. And after that I can install a RUU.
Now here is my question. To get the hboot version 2.00.2002 I have to use the newest RUU available. Somewhere I have read that this version cannot be turned to S-OFF again, but that's wrong, is it?
OK, let me rephrase my question. No matter which RUU version you installed, is it always possible to install an old RUU so you can get HBoot 0.98.xxx.x?

as far as i know...no. flashing a new/old RUU doesn't change your hboot.
that's my experiance at least...
But that's not possible. Because I installed an old RUU to downgrade my HBoot to version 0.98.
OK, I am back to stock now. I used the old hboot from my link and after that I flashed RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8.
Hi there, I want to go back to my factory ROM by RUU, but all of them fails by error of 155. I think it´s because of my Hboot in version 2.15 (I´ve no idea how did it came to my phone, maybe because of some of the custom Roms I had). So do you have any idea what to do with that ? I expect that without S-Off I cannot downgrade Hboot. So is there some RUU based on this ? And how can I recognize it ? Thank you
(I have changed CID to HTC__001)
Edit: I found some version for S3 Ville .. but I have S4, which I can´t find. Any ideas ?
I'm looking for a compatabile RUU as well for my Hboot 2.15. My CID is GLOBA__001
Any Help would be appreciated.
i think S-Off can also let you run an RUU no problem... (ie without CID change)
But remember you have to flash stock recovery and then relock bootloader before attempting to run RUU (with S ON), and make sure you have the correct CID too before relocking, etc.
You should be able to run an RUU with the same level of bootloader, just not one with a lower version, with S ON.
So the euro jellybean version that has been posted on the One S forums should be an appropriate RUU.
I have an HTC One S (duh) with CM10, hboot 1.14, S-ON, no superCID at the moment.
I want to flash a new ROM, but everything either needs me to have S-OFF (superCID) at the least, or a newer hboot.
So in order to update my hboot, I was under the impression that I needed to get back on stock ROM. I tried that - got some error while running the RUU. I also don't remember why I got that impression.
I can't do superCID because my phone, while showing up under fastboot devices, says device not connected with ADB shell. I already tried reinstalling the adb drivers, no luck.
I can't do either S-OFF (facepalm or moonshine).
So, should I just give up at this point?

You will need to be S-off for the ROMs that require 2.16 HBoot.
The other ROMs (require 2.15 HBoot) You will be ok with S-on. Just have to remember to fastboot flash the boot.img before installing the ROM.
But first you need to update your firmware to 2.15.
So keep trying RUU.exe trying one that will work with your CID. Look for RUU that have JB that will bring you the 2.15 Hboot and Jelly Bean update.
Remember to lock your bootloader before running the RUU (since you are S-on)

Yeah, I've done all that for the RUU. I'm 100% sure I have the right one, but when I run it it gives me an error. When I get home I'll try again.

In terms of Supercid and s-off. You can get supercid on roms that aren't stock, but you need supercid for s-off. So my phone was stock, then i flashed cm10, then i gained supercid, then s-off, then i could put whatever rom i fancied on (in that order). I had HBOOT 2.15.
Dunno if it helps because it sounds like you are using windows and i use linux but i had problems with adb too. Which I fixed by using the equivalent to "run as administrator".
I found the root of my problems - apparently my HTC drivers installation was corrupted, so most processes would get to a point but be unable to continue because of some error having to do with the drivers.
I reinstalled them, so hopefully I'll have some success with rumrunner.
Just kidding. Rumrunner says I'm "not rooted" even though I am running a custom ROM with unlocked bootloader.
So I'm S-OFF, but the RUU refuses to work. (I'm trying to get a kitkat-based ROM and i need hboot 2.15 for that)
I always get the error:
Error Code: -5001 : 0x80070002

Any help?
