[Q] Tablet is stuck in an endless nVidia ((Reboot Loop)) and I have to (gulp) wipe it - General Questions and Answers

Lenovo K1 IdeaPad Tablet
Google Android 3.1 OS (Honeycomb, API Level 12)
nVidia Tegra 2.0 T20 1.0 GHz processor
——————————————————————————
My K1 IdeaPad tablet is obstructed from getting to its home screen and reboots after the nVidia logo completes in an endless loop. Completely draining the battery does no good, and Lenovo advises me that on a hardware issue such as this the tablet has to be completely wiped. Even though I build my own computers I have never flashed the ROM on my desktop (let alone an Android Tablet) so my options are to fork over to Lenovo's out-of-warranty repair services or do it myself.
There is only one thing scarier to me than physically opening my tablet, wiping her drive, and flashing her ROM, and that's paying Lenovo to do it for me! I'm opening her up; I may not be sober while I do it.
I will follow XDA's expert guidance on walking me through this, but I have one question first.
As you can see above, the version of Android OS on my tablet is 3.1. As long as I'm going to throw caution to the wind and wipe the drive, is it possible for me to install the latest Android version? or will I be stuck in Honeycomb forever? Thanks guys, you are just the greatest!

Impression i7 Tablet Issues

Hey guys, I need some major help...
So I was given a Impression i7 Tablet from Leader International.
I have done plenty of research on this tablet, and I do know that support is limited and problems are abundant. Here are some of the things I need help with or it if it to much trouble, I will just take it back.
When I load it, it load all the way up to the homescreen, but I have no touch screen function and the buttoms at the bottom do not light up. I have used the reset button multiple of times with no luck.
Then I have tried to install the Android Drivers Rev 4 but they seem to not install on my computer. (Windows 7)
Also has anyone been able to root this device.
I hope to get some answers. I dont want to take it back unless I have to. (I like to hack away at android devices)
Thanks Everyone!!
the tablet 7 inch have place to put sim card or only tablet 10.1 ?
the leader i7 is a rebrand of another tablet. Find that tablet and youll have your answer.

[Q] HELP :: Android 2.2 Tablet Won't Boot

PLEASE PLEASE HELP
I have an Android 2.2 Tablet 10" mid - CORTEX A8 with 1GHZ Processor and 512MB 2G Wifi.
4-5 Months ago (just after 3-4 months old), my tablet won't boot. I tried all the ways, but it seemed I had some trouble with the firmware. The seller (DinoDirect) is not willing to help because it is almost 9-months old. I contacted them 3 months ago (when it was just 6 months old), but they denied saying the product has been discontinued and they cannot get firmware.
Does anyone who has bought the same or similar tablet, have the firmware for the tablet mentioned above or is there any other way I can save my tablet? Please help.
Dinodirect is only selling chinaware without any quality. These china manufacturers can clone every bit of tecnology but when its servicing, your money is gone. If you are from India there are faint chances of getting it done at a wayside mobile repairer, elsewhere its tricky. Try a hard or factory reset if you can. If that doesnt help, go to recovery mode and reset to factory. Mostly its a software issue.
Thank you for your response.
To be honest, I did find this tablet very good. This tablet has 1GHz Processor and rotates the screen just like an iPad, in all directions. I just hate to throw it in the trash when I had some great time with it. I have an iPad2 but still I miss this tablet.
It was stupid of me to connect it to my PC and download some files to read them. During that time, the tablet was powered down because of low battery. After which, it can be charged (shows red indicator), but it does not boot up even when holding power button.
DD customer service recommended again to get it repaired locally....
Any other suggestions?
Best regards.

RoyaDroidally Screwed-Cortex A9 1.5GHz Duel Core stuck inside an ICRAIG Tablet CLP288

Hey,
So I have a tablet that was given to my daughter but was pretty useless out of the box last year. Its an ICRAIG powered by a Cortex A9 Duel Core 1.5 GHz 4G flash memory with the capacity to hold a 32G SD card to serve as an extension of that initial 4G. Now basically to a novice but trying to learn person like me the deal was kind of like: ICRAIG took some older cheaper cell phone android tech (It runs off 4.2 and upgrades only to 4.4 I believe) and shoved in into a tablet without modifying the firmware to support the new form. For instance the keyboard that's actually pretty standard in appearance is impossible to choose as an option and its default is the cellular keyboard option Android uses.
I have managed to root it using KingRoot app and Ive hooked it up to my computer to verify that Droid Drive works on it and it does, my computer recognizes the device as a CD. I am planning to flash over a different OS to take over the device and not use the Android platform at all. More specifically Kali Linux because I feel that will be a good way for me to learn coding and white hat pen testing as well along my path to a new career and because being stuck without working after it consumed my life for 18 years (Which means since I was 16, so my whole life) or the ability to drive has made me horribly bored to the point I'm trying to find, fix, refurbish, rig together anything I can without spending a fortune doing it with limited income. Broken neck, 3 places actually, is why I'm a bit stuck finding a career/hobby suitable to someone with limited movement. Not complaining or whining just telling you Androidians why I'm trying to replace your software of choice.
So is there anything I should know before attempting this backwards "burn" to reformat the tablet. Like just find an applicable ARM image on Kali.org? Should I just wipe it clean and rebuild from nothing or from the kernel at least? or wasting my time with this approach and just need to wipe it and use it as doorstop? I would keep Android and use a Linux Deploy approach but due to the keyboard not functioning and the lack of touch screen I feel the onscreen keyboard I have to use now would not be suitable to a VM style approach. Also hoping it I can just replace the OS I can then find the applicable drivers for things like the keyboard. I'm not sure if I should pull off all software except Droid Drive to the USB the device will hold and then flash or keep certain files (for instance whatever file may hold the drivers and kernel) or some of the build in apps? Etc Etc. You see where I'm going here. Replace the existing OS with Kali and any pointers with using Drive Droid or any other way you all think I could approach this better even if its flashing Damn Small Linux first and building up or just working of the Linux sites to build my own image kernel and all....I would appreciate any advice and I'm heading over to read Droid Drive info now. Ive just recently had time or interest in computing since I used my Blackberry or iPhone for any computing I needed or work computers on their own network. So until about a month ago the last system rebuild I did was on a Gateway running Windows 97 or so.
Thanks Androidians I'm off to start an online Android course now actually.

How to install Android 5 or later on Acer Iconia B1-730?

This tablet is driving me nuts!
It worked perfectly few years and longer then a I year now it's just crazy.
I reseted it two times in a year (3 in total), I cleared cache partition 10 times already.
The problem is purely on software side, Google destroyed my tablet. YouTube is stuttering, text gets broken in Gmail when typing, Chrome is slowest then ever...
2nd problem is that this tablet with brightness set to minimum is close to make me blind. It's brighter on lowest brightness then my phone on max. So I use Night mode app that can lower screen brightness under default minimum, and of course, retarded Android 4.4 is killing it every few mins. Why app that takes less then 1MB RAM is being killed by Android 4?!
So now I will either install Android 5 or newer on it or burn it and send video to Acer Support.
I will appreciate your help!
Just to mention, this tablet can run [email protected] without problem on 3rd party YouTube apps but official app is stuttering on 360p of course, because Google care about their Android users. And yes, it's Intel Atom inside my tablet, not Mediatek, I was happy to see post about Custom ROM for this tablet here on XDA but it was meant for Mediatek Acer Iconia.
It's not a problem, I can buy new tablet (Acer never again), I just want to fix this one or break it completely.
Thanks!
You need a newer tablet or downgrade your apps to the older working version.

Lenovo table yoga yb1-x90f EOL but maybe not

Lenovo has stopped all updates to android tablet yb1-x90f several years ago. It's a non-phone, wifi tablet. Machine is nice, has great screen display, keyboard is nice, and works well but software is now getting 3-4 years old.
I recently dissambled it to replace battery. Broke keyboard in removal process but got a new one installed. All works well (new battery and keyboard) but would like to update software.
I'd like to resume system android updates or, perhaps, even remove android and replace with linux if it will work. I have a pinephone that I am getting to finally work decently.
thanks for any knowledgeable ideas. tom kosvic
Updates ( read: patches to existing OS ) only get rolled by OEMs if they deem it necessary.
Yes, lenovo discontinued updates but can I restart them in some manner or even replace OS with linux?
