IQ Shield & Skinomi Skintech Screen Protector(covers edge panel) - Note Edge Accessories

I saw this mentioned on another thread and since it is one of the only screen protectors known to cover the edge panel,I am really considering ordering one.
My question is, for anyone that already may have received there's.... since this requires the adhesive spray- how is the installation on the edge panel holding up/applying.
I have never used a screen protector that needed spray, but I'm imagining it being difficult/not staying on (12-24 hours needed to rest before using) because of the curve? Any thoughts

I have always trusted screen protector companies that provide the spray with their screen protector. IMO, screen protectors with spray actually stick on and works better than those that don't come with it. XtremeGuards screen protector does not comes with it and I have had it peeled off on me, whereas Zagg has been working marvelously for me. The spray actually helps with the installation of the screen protector as well, as it allows you to move the screen protector without damaging the screen protector or your phone. And once you squeezed all the liquid out and the screen protector dry up, it will stays on your phone beautifully.
You can watch this video to get an idea on how the screen protector with spray works.

I purchased one also , for the past year i've exclusively bought glass screen protectors , but with the curve on the note edge it seem's unlikely that that will happen with this phone , just have to wait and see, before that i always used ivisishield , expensive but i never really like the way it felt , so with really very slim options to chose from i purchased the skinomi also should arrive tommorrow , my note edge should also , i'm familiar with that type of application , as long as you follow the directions especially the part about sparaying both hands liberally , keeps from getting finger prints on the protector should be very easy , i used to feel very apprehensive about doing these thing's having OCD doesn't help matters much either ....LOL , but Skinomi has an excellent reputation as well as a lifetime guarantee , which usually means if you screw it up they will send you another one , as another poster suggested there are several UTUBE video's available , good luck , and let's see those Pic's , if i get mine done tomorrow i will do my best to show photo's , i hope other member's will also ....................:good:

Funny I always used solution I made with Dawn size on your thumb nail and 12 ounces of water in a bowl. Mix and wait a few minutes scooping out any bubbles. I wet my fingers and peel of the protector and dip it in the solution and let it drip then place it on the phone and its done. Use a microfiber to gently pat it once it is in position and in a few hours good to go. Any bubbles will disappear. I used this on iphones, note 3, galaxy s3, s4 and zero damage and on all my tablets too.

Got mine delivered today and installed it immediately. My overall experience with the skinomi screen protector for the note edge isn't bad at all. Just make sure you wash your hands before starting.
And the screen protector does cover the entire screen, including the edge panel and it's a good quality as well. A little gummy to the touch but not as bad like the the zagg.
Also, skinomi offers a lifetime replacement warranty so that's an added bonus.
My advice, get one and be very patient with the installation process. If you happen to messed up, just peel it off and wash with soap and water then reapply with the solution spray provided. Do keep in mind not to over spray the solution. Keep it as minimal as possible that way you'll reduce the risk of water damage and it will be easier to squeegee out the excess liquid.
I used a blow dryer after i re over all the excess liquid and now my note edge screen is fully protected

Just got the screen protector and installed it. Feels nice and when i got the kit, the bottle was already filled with solution. Only thing I could think of, is...make sure it's properly wet so you dont over stretch the pieces. Also, OMG...it has so many small pieces that it took me a while to put all on.

Anker High Definition (HD) Screen Protector w/ pictures and video

This is my personal and unbiased review of the Anker High Definition (HD) Screen Protector. I recently got the opportunity from Anker to review the Anker's newest screen protector for the Galaxy Note 4. I will explain the installation process and my initial thoughts. I have not had more than a few hours to review the protector yet... so this will only be my inital review. I will update my review in about a week.
First off, installation was a little more cumbersome than I thought it would be but it felt like it was the luck of the draw or requires a steady hand. I've installed many screen protectors before, including bodyguardz film protectors and LUVVITT's tempered glass.
The package cames with 3 protectors, cleaning cloth, a bubble remover, and something I've not seen before, what is essentially a lint remover. I thought it was cool.
First I cleaned it with the cloth:
Then I used the lint remover, very helpful for removing pieces of lint that the cloth won"t get:
http://youtu.be/ST-NRqqFa1s
It took a few times for me to get it on the way I wanted it....
See the video:
http://youtu.be/41-JoEsn7rA
After I got the protector the way I wanted it on the screen, I used the little card to remove the bubbles and I removed the final film off of the screen protector using the little tab they equipped:
http://youtu.be/2wv0eDPgJwc
But there was a slight problem.... when I pulled off the final film, it pulled off the actual screen protector as well. I couldn't tell at first so in the video you see me checking out the screen until I realized it wasn't on.
Luckily there was 2 more and I tried the whole process again. This time it went on the way I liked it on the very first try. Unfortunately, I did not record it this time but here is the final product:
http://s28.photobucket.com/user/mmafighter077/media/anker/IMG_2406.jpg.html?sort=3&o=17
THE INITIAL VERDICT:
I think the screen protector is good for the price. You get a lot for how much it costs. One major thing that I do not like about the protector is that it slows your finger down a little. It feels almost sticky and gives some resistance when you are sliding you finger SLOWLY across the screen. You feel this resistance less the faster you move your finger but I don't think of it after a while. I'm hoping this is only because its a new protector and needs some time to go away.
I do like that I don't feel like I lose any screen sensitivity. All touches are precise and just as sensitive as if I didn't have it on.
The protector seems like it's made more to protect against scratches rather than to protect the screen from cracking against any kind of forceful impact.
I will do a updated an updated review in about 1 week.
OVERALL I give this product 4 out of 5 stars. After one week of use I noticed a slight scratch on the screen protector and can see that it's not very good at repelling fingerprints but this is probably the best of it's kind for the price. It doesn't hinder the look of the phone and I feel like my phone is protected from normal wear and tear and that is what this screen protector is made to do.
I was going to post my review... but decided i would just add my experience here....
I have tried 6 different screen protectors for my new Galaxy Note 4!!! NONE of them worked well. I really like the tempered glass variety of screen protectors, but none fit the phone correctly due to the curved diameter at the edge of the screen. These created a "halo" effect around the whole circumference of the screen. It looked terrible, and just attracted dust and lint.
So, when I saw that Anker (a brand I have always trusted) was offering a screen protector (and a 3 pack no less), I figured, whats it hurt to try one more time.
So in fairness... the first set then sent me was terrible! It was bubbling with micro spots of lint/dust. I went through all 3 in the pack unsuccessfully. I did contact Anker customer support, and they answered within minutes, and told me they had contacted their product engineers, and they were sending me "new" replacements.
I received those with two days. The very first one I installed on my screen installed perfectly!! The protector covers the "visible" part of the phones display. Some of the surrounding bezel is not covered where the screens starts to curve). So the protector lays nicely. Also, being a little smaller, my phone case does not rub against the screen protector.
This protector is clear. It transmits light from the display nicely, and does a decent job of resisting finger prints. So far no scratches, so it seems fairly tough to everyday use.
I would have still preferred a tempered glass protector, but due to all the issues, this Anker HD Screen Protector more than fits the bill!
The package ships with everything you need to install a screen protector: micro fiber cloth (and it's big...so I can use on my eyeglasses), bubble remover, link/dust removing tape, and full instructions.
5 Stars for quality, customer support, and super fast shipping!

Glad the reviews are positive. Mine are already on their way from amazon. Can't wait because my phones been totally naked since Wednesday!
whats the price on these? they look just like every other protector out there...including the tech armor ones I got for 99 cents each per 3 pack when they were on sale.
and OP, you should totally do the method where you only pull back the top portion of the protector, lay that flat, then gradually peel the rest back so that you don't risk getting dust on it every single time you lift it up off the phone and place it back down. i used to do it the way you did it; taking the first film off completely and placing it down..but honestly, the peel back method is MUCH better, and so is the hinge method. give em a try.
Got these yesterday... Exactly what I expected. Super easy to install. No bubbles, no imperfections on the first try. They are SUPER narrow. Barely covering the entire actual screen. I wish it covered the camera tho

I have had my Anker protector on for the last week, and no scratches yet. The edges are on tight. No bubbles, no lifted edges.
Here is the link to the product. They are $6 bucks for 3 ($2 each). Well worth it.
http://www.ianker.com/product/A7236011
Here are a few pictures of the screen protector on my phone....
Thanks for the review.
What is the difference between the "Clear" and "Matte" versions?
The Matte version sounds like it will be less reflective compared to the Clear.
But, apart for that

[Review] Benks OKR+ Full Screen (Colored) Tempered Glass Screen Protector - Updated

purchased from eBay: $12.99 | took about 2 weeks to arrive from China
i was excited to install this screen protector, but that excitement quickly soured into disappointment.
the packaging was nice. the outer package was made of very think and stiff paper. the sp itself was in its out paper bag. all the other stuff was in another sealed paper bag.
as you can see from the pics, there appears to be a concave spot in the upper right that just would not stick, no matter what i tried. it was not an air bubble. i squeeze all the air from the center out, but that area never adhered. also, none of the edges adhered either. it appears that the screen protector is warped.
i did buy one of the first ones that showed up on ebay, so it may be from an early bad batch. i contacted the seller about this issue and i'll update when they reply.
needless to say, i do NOT recommend this sp.
Nillkin makes an identical-looking glass screen protector. has anyone tried theirs?
Update 1 (4/27): the seller said they're sending me a replacement today. i'll update in about 2 weeks.
also, the giant anomaly/air bubble in the upper right corner seems to have disappeared overnight. unfortunately, the bottom right edge of the screen seems to have lifted up more (new pic below). with the screen on, it's actually not that bad. it appears as a slight haze at the corners. still, i'm not happy with the SP. hopefully the replacement won't have this problem.

Update 1 (4/27):
Update 2 (5/17):
I got the replacement this week. Unfortunately, it's more of the same. The SP just doesn't want to stick to the sides. Oh well ... At least with the screen on, you can barely tell. I guess I'm used to it by now. I still wouldn't recommend this SP.
did you try to read the instruction before installation ?

yes. it was exactly like every other half a dozen screen protectors i've installed over the past few years.
they're all the same. clean the screen. peel protective plastic off screen protector. align with phone. stick to phone.
have you never installed a screen protector before?

Would read again.
aside from the "air bubble" how are the edges? does it fully stick to the S6 screen edges since they curve? it looks great other than the bubbles and also i'm certain Nilkin uses the same product just branded for them
Unless if I'm looking at it incorrectly, it seems that the home button is not a perfect fit on there..... Or is that just the angle?

no, at least not all the way around. look at the new pic i uploaded. notice at the corners where there are light spots (circled in red or blue). that's where the SP doesn't adhere to the screen.
i checked before installation and there was adhesive even in the colored parts of the SP. this wasn't the case in their versions for the iPhone, which eventually led to dirt getting under the sides and the SP lifting.

the cutout is precise and slightly bigger than the home button. but since the SP is thicker, the home button is now slightly recessed (refer to the new pic). it's a little different feeling at first, but you quickly get used to it. it also doesn't affect the fingerprint scanning function.

Just installed this screen protector. Pretty pleased with the results. It stuck right up to the edges.
My Spigen case caused a bit of a problem though. It lifted up the edges of protector and caused halo effect. Resolved the problem by sanding down the inside edge of the case by a fraction of a millimeter.
Is this oeleophobic? I got a decent protector without this coating and I hate it.

I'm not sure. I got it off ebay and the product info given by the seller said it is. However I couldn't see anything on the product itself when it arrived to confirm this. I've never found that oeleophobic screens work very well anyway.
Hey
Very nice reviews, I will try it nevertheless and let you know

Which one is that?
It's the Capsule Ultra Rugged
I have the one from Nillkin, but I didn't buy it from ebay, I got it from a local retailer. I have no problems with it.
And yes, it looks the same as the one reviewed here. But maybe at the time the OP of this thread bought these protectors they were like just introduced, maybe in the begining all of them had this problem. After all, after some months, the accesories are very diversified and you can choose a fair amount of brands.

I mean which tempered glass do you use?
It's the Benks 9H Full Cover Curved Tempered Glass Screen Protector. Got it off eBay

Screen protector?

Does a screen protector detract from the looks? Is one needed? Which ones should we use?
I use one, can't tell difference to w/o. As this is one of the cheaper ones (6 pcs for 2 EUR) I think most of the offered ones are fine
Yeah I use one I got a 6 pack off amazon, nothing special just standard screen protector material and you cant even tell that its there. Probably gonna grab a tempered glass one here soon just for the hell of it.

Don't get the tempered glass protector from Amazon. They don't fit the full face of the watch. I have one. They leave like a little over .5mm all the way around. I'll take a pic if you want one.[
It is true that a screen protector detract from look but it's essential until you have gorilla glass.

Yes, it is fantastic protection and relatively easy to just "plop" on.
Is there any real reason why on earth you need screen protector on watch?
Especially when there`s gorilla glass instead of usual.
It`s a wearable device that is mounted on wrist all day long, so there`s no risk of drop at all.

You can still bump your watch against a door or wall which could scratch the watch face. Happened to me with a few watches in the past. Screen protectors are more for scratches than drops anyhow . In the end it's a matter of taste vs peace of mind. No wrong answer here. Personally I always lean towards using one and all my devices still look new after tons of use.
Screen protector
I tried one on but took it off in five min. It was protruding above the frame and didn't feel natural.
It was also gathering dust around the edge quickly and took away from the aesthetics of the watch.
I'll just be careful in handling the watch and enjoy the beauty of the watch at all times, rather.
The regular old school ones I got off amazon work great and you cant even tell it's on thenwatch.
As far if you need one or not, that's just a matter of opinion, ive banged my Smartwatches (Gear 1, Gear S) off door knobs walking down my hall a few times or at work while rushing around, it makes your stomach turn lol, yes the glass is definitely resilient but it never hurts to add a safety layer as long as it keep the watches aesthetics, Lucky I haven't banged my S2 off anything and hope I never do, but at least my screen will be covered if I do lol
have anyone tried the full body skin protector ? im just curious, is it truly invisible or would it be annoying ?

I have this on my watch. I'm very happy with it.
I bought a tempered glass one from eBay, it fitted very well. But it did create the thinnest halo effect around the the edge. So I took it off.
Then thought, I don't put any protectors on any of my other watches and most are regular glass.
I got this tempered glass screen protector on aliexpress. Very happy with it - fits really well and is barely noticeable. I think I read somewhere that it would be slightly too small for the classic though.
I have supershieldz from amazon for last few weeks and I happy with it.
I bought this from amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015X2DG2I?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Install was easy and I dont even know it is there. No loss in touch or responsiveness.
Got two tempered glass screen protectors off Amazon for about $10 each (Canadian). First one was tricky and had slight halo but that was my own fault. Took it off and tried again with my second one...perfect. No halo, can't even really tell it's on

Nubia Tempered Glass

I ordered the Tempered glass from NubiaMart - took a while to arrive, but now that it has, I was impressed to see it's actually made by Nubia.
The quality is very good and the package includes a plastic trim that's used to help guide the glass when installing it so that it lines up perfectly.
There a warning/recommendation to re-learn your fingerprints after installing a screen protector - unfortunately, this is the biggest flaw with the glass.
The fingerprint sensor on the 5G is finicky to begin with (the first software update improved it a bit) but with the glass installed the fingerprint sensor has become pretty much un-useable. I can only hope a future update will improve the sensor further to allow it to work with the glass installed.
Update: rebooted the phone and re-learned fingerprints again - went a bit better and working about the same as before...
where did you buy the glass? I was hoping that the fingerprint would work so how many times do you need to press your thumb in order to unlock it?
I purchased from nubiamart.com
They now have other screen protector options available for the 5G, but I purchased this one:
https://www.nubiamart.com/original-...d-glass-protective-film-screen-protector.html
Fingerprint detection is still hit and miss - sometimes it'll work immediately, other times not at all. I'm not sure if it's a matter of finger positioning or pressure or star alignment...
Hi there
I buy this one...

I got a glass screen protector with the device from Cect-shop and had the same issue.
Lots of air bubbles yet I believe I did a good job of fitting!
It ended up cracking in two places, I have no idea how. Just took the phone out my pocket and it was cracked.
Anyway, I bought the following case and got a free glass screen protector.
It fitted "almost" perfectly, one small air bubble in the bottom left (off the screen itself and on the chin).
Pretty happy with it to be honest and the case is fantastic quality.

for the fingerprint, i figured out that if you learn your fp while using the provided film it works great, but once you apply the glass it will not work, so by simply relearning the fingerprints will do the job.. =)

Question Samsung z 3 screen protector

Hi,
I have had a Samsung flip 3 since march, I never had a screen protector even though bought from new, from Three, I noticed that the screen has started to crack, and also the antenna needs replacing as it cuts out while making calls. I sent it to Samsung and they refused to do anything under warranty as the screen protector has been removed, like I said, nothing to do with me. They want me to pay Ā£270 to get fixed. They said removing the screen protector voids any warranty. I'll never buy Samsung again. They didn't listen to me and all they kept saying was, yes the phone is faulty but my warranty is now void. Three are not interested and say it's a Samsung issue.

Understand when I say this that I am not saying it doesn't suck, but the requirement that the screen protector is present when reporting screen damage is the entire reason almost every other thread is about how to get it replaced. If you took Samsung up on the free premium care offer that came with the phone, they will overlook the lack of a protector. That is assuming it didn't expire yet. The reason they are so adamant about the protector is because they are well aware it is not Gorilla Glass under there. It's not scratch resistant.
Are you absolutely sure you didn't just damage the protector, though? It's a bit blurry around the camera, but the rim near the crease appears to have a slight inset to the buildup of dust and dirt. That is usually what happens at the seam or around the edge of a protector. Since the case wraps around the screen, the only buildup should be along the black rim. If there is a slight line around the camera, your protector is still there.
I had went to Samsung to replace under warranty but as I have rooted the phone... warranty gone, I have to pay for it... I decided not to replace it but to remove it at all.... Now I'm using with screen protector... no any issue so far... even recording inside water... I might put screen protector in future with any custom that reliable but not now... huhuhu!

Here's my experience I wrote in the other thread:
"I took off the original screen protector about 4 weeks ago. It had no damage, but curiosity beat me and I wanted to try the real, naked screen
It felt sooooooo goooood! Smooth, no fingerprints, brighter, touch nav was better, no rainbow effect ect.
Went naked for over 3 weeks and no scratches or anything. But, a couple of days ago I applied myself the whitestone film. Easy to apply and It's better then samsungs.
So, had a nice adventure "
So, my experience, you can go naked, apply your own protector or go to samsung.

You are a brave soul!
Yes, everything seemed better without the protector! I would have gone naked also, but I was going to a beach holiday and didn't want to risk the naked screen with sand, so I applied the whitestone dome film. I still have it on because I want 1 more year out of this phone and then upgrade to z flip 5.
Yeeh, sand is dangerous for a flip in deed (especially when it is closed).
Support taled me, I might take the protector off but they aren't recommending it. But since it's not included in the waerenty, I just don't care

Sorry... now had been more than 5 months without any screen protector and no any issue so far... I'm using phone as usual, flip n open even now more harder....
i've had a display "broken" in the middle (a scratch like in the OP picture) after Samsung replaced the foil. After they redo, it disappeared and it's perfect again
This is the most resistant phone i ever had, it never had one scratch anywhere despite no case. It only got bubble after 10 months, and Samsung replaced the foil for free. Just anonymous bill, rooted, and provided them with fake owner data (they ask for address for "some reason").
Just wanted to add my experience. The stock film started cracking around 6 months in, so I sent it in and had Samsung do the official replacement for free. After I got that back it lasted about 2 months before it started to crack and peel at the edges of the hinge. Samsung wouldn't do it for free again, so I went with the Whitestone Dome EZ Film. I have to say the kit was fantastic and made it super easy to install. I will update when I start to see issues with that film, but it looks equal to if not better than the official replacement.
