Notification sounds in lollipop - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Weirdly enough, even though the all have the same names as the predecessors, all of the notification sounds are new on my N9 running 5.0, yet they remain the same on my N5. Anyone else notice the same thing? I really like Titan on my N9 but not so much on the N5.

Well that really sucks but I guess it's to be expected we didn't get everything. I bet the Nexus 6 has those same notifications as your N9. Tbh... it doesn't feel like Lollipop is better than the latest dev preview. In fact I had a lot of lag after installing my apps. Reboot seems to fix it... eh...

Yup. Was a major bummer when going through the settings. WTH man. No biggie though.

Hmm, I guess I could just copy the directory from my N9 and transfer it to the N5. Also sucks that there's only one new ringtone!

I made a flashable zip with all of those updated sounds.

should be able to flash on any device.

Sentio UI

Check this out, looks very cool.

Looks good but it's vaporware right now.
True....but it does look promising.
I get a windows 7 phone vibe from that UI
but I wouldn't mind seeing more.
Looks nice! I got a windows vibe from it as well, but its much better because its on top of android!
Is this active? The interface looks very good! Could somebody post a link for more info?
Interesting... the link at the end of the video goes to a one page website with a single image. Is this real?
Slick clean UI. Want more of this thinking on android... yeah, a little WP7 ish... still. Something new and refreshing. If this is ported/easily available to us, will definitely give this a run. I love text instead of icons... am using Generation X's theme

I think the early work some of the developers have done here has given us an early preview of what we are in for. It looks great so far, best and smoothest my nexus has been.
I think you'll get a better idea though if you read the threads found in the developers section. When reading a thread titled "jelly bean" I get all excited expecting to find OTA is here and ready to flash. Instead I'm leaving my opinion on an SDK based version of 4.1 I feel like a child who just found out Santa has still not been.

Screen off? Mine works, it's in the settings menu.

Honestly, I'm not noticing a drastic difference but I've only tried the port so I'll reserve my judgement until a full asop or OTA arrives.

im still on Gnex port with sevice pack4.
what i can say is, that for now im in love with JB...
Those animations, smoothness, speed, new notification[ although i would prefer i u could take a peak with one finger, instead of two, cuz u cant do it with one hand}.
MULTITASKING- first time since ive started using android, i can finally say; ITS WORKING- fast and smooth..
not sold for now on GOOGLE NOW, ive found it not useful for me at all, i would like it much more interacting with other apps.
BTW jelly bean will shine on new phones, our is bit outdated ...
Can we keep all JB releated posts into the one JB related thread here --> Jellybean Countdown to OTA Thread: Nexus S Edition
Thanks.

[Question] ROM(s) with 4.2-like notification/quick-settings dual pulldown

Does anyone know if there are any ROMs out there with something similar to the notification/quick-settings that will (possibly) be on 4.2, dual pulldown?? I thought I saw one, but can't remember which one, or where I saw it.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Why would you think any rom has this feature? It was just shown off today.

MIUI has it. Here's a shot of the 2.3 version... 4.1 looks very similar.

That is something ENTIRELY different.
I understand that it was just shown off today as a part of 4.2...... I also know that there has been some videos floating around that showed off an early build of this feature, and we have some amazing devs here, just thought someone might have cooked something similar into their ROM.....and yes, I did see one that did, just don't remember which one!!
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
When the 4.2 source drops, then we'll start to see it integrated into AOSP roms. Until then... probably not going to happen.

Oops. Just found that you can't use it to Google search until you register the android device with a Google account, but the GlassSetup fails so don't try it... I'll try to push a fix on Tuesday. Maybe before.

Sorry if this question is idiotic, but is the ROM just that, a black screen with voice options? I would expect a launcher since you said it was based on PA. Apologies, but you didn't include screenshots of a launcher so I'm doing some guessing here.

Hey this is a great idea! Was watching about glass and how it has the most advanced voice features Google has to offer. Really looking forward to seeing your developments on this ROM

Rom for elderly

Hi,
I have an elderly grandmother that lives in another country and I would like to send her my nexus 5. The problem is she is afraid that she will not be able to use the device properly and since I will not be there to help she will be stuck. That is why I would like to flash a rom that would make the interface easier to use like Samsung and LG have on their phones. If you could recommend me any that are stable I would appreciate it a lot.
Thanks in advance,
A concerned grandson
Flash MIUI on it, its an easy interface and self explanatory, and there are multiple languages to choose from so I think that would be perfect for your grandmother, also increase the DPI if u can, it'll make everything bigger
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I would leave everything stock and just install a specialized launcher from playstore.
Maybe change the font size max and that's it.
It would be a problem for your grandma if there's something wrong with the ROM in the long run (which usually happens with every ROM).

I can't see how you could get easier than stock android to be honest. If she has eyesight problems then just set the font bigger as suggested

Yes, just leave it stock and enlarge the font. Flashing MIUI would be a HORRIBLE idea.
