THL has unveiled a new smartphone, the THL 4000 , a nearly identical version of the THL 5000, THL 4400 but it will come with Android 4.4 KitKat and a spectacular 4000 mAh battery which makes us think that this smartphone could eventually be used up to a week with moderate use. What's more, due to with MT6582, instead of MT6592 from THL 5000, it comes with longer Standby time, while much cheaper price than THL 5000, only $99 which will be another highlight for this new hot spot.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THL 4000:
4.7-inch IPS display on an HD resolution (960 x 540 pixels)
MediaTek MT6582 SoC Processor @ 1.30 GHz (Cortex-A7 4x + Mali-400 MP2 @ 500MHz)
1 GB of RAM
8 GB of internal storage (expandable by microSD 32 GB extra)
Sony Rear Camera 5 megapixel front camera and 2 MP.

I also noticed the appearance of this phone. It seems to be the cheapest option with decent specs including battery for now, if only Chinese manufacturers didn't cheat with numbers as it sometimes happen. Will wait and see when people get hands on it to know if there are any major harware or firmware issues.
nice
the battery is nice,4000mah,but the ROM is small.if can be 16G will be good

I believe if the ROM was insreased it's price would rise, too. And personally for me the 8Gb will do well, I don't plan to install some heavy games with cache or upload any videos to the phone. And for the essential programms it's more than enough. And of couse there's an SD slot

$99.99 at most resellers, such as coolicool, vifocal, tinydeal, link: http://bit.ly/1toz1u7
For THL 4400, with 4400mAh battery, powered by MTK 6582 but with much higher price at around $167, see detailed review at Gizchina: http://bit.ly/1v0RHVu
I've been following this phone prices in some shops and promotions, also.
I don't know what to do... I just received my THL t6 pro new phone and preparing a review for it, but I'm looking at this phone as a much longer battery life option

i am really worried about tinydeal and focalprice, they have been selling me used phones!!
Camera
I've been using the THL W100S for over a year now and I'm quite satisfied. However lately the batterylife is decreasing severe. This THL 4000 seems like a great next option to me, but I'm just wondering if the 5MP camera would do the job... Does anyone has some reviews/experience about the camera? Gr Raizy
Need a comprehensive review
Hiiii, I really need this phone but I need a comprehensive hands-on review of this device.
THANKS.
Just got the THL 4000 from tinydeal. Phone is lovely was able to root it with vroot. Good build, phone is handsome, screen is nice.
I'm having a problem with recording video with the frame rate is only around 15fps. Makes the recorded videos un-watchable. Tried to tweak the camera, used "open camera". messed a little with the build.prop tweaks to force 30fps and nothing. helped.
Any thoughts how to get higher fps? at least 24.
@qwe123a
Great to hear youre in possession of the THL 4000! Would you be so nice to place some pictures taken with it on this forum, so I can watch the quality of it. I'm really interested in it!
Thanks in advance! Gr Raizy
Arrived also to me yesterday
rom 4.4.2 14-10-27.
Excellent general fluidity, mammoth battery and long to recharge ..
smartphone heavy and full-bodied, good assembly, good cover with surface grain, very good touch & feel.
very good screen, touch with 5 touches, led top notification (only red), soft touch buttons backlit (a rarity for this kind of phones and price range).
Root succesfull with Vroot 1.7.9.2, put supersu, putting recovery CWM with MTK droid tools, modified the internal partition going from 2Gb App + 4Gb internal memory to 4Gb App + 2Gb internal via EBR taken in the network.
Put Xposed framework + gravity box KK,.
Gps tested with cold fix, 52 seconds and 7 satellites, not bad!
* Edit 2:
just weighed on precision balance ..
185g phone + battery + sim and only battery weight 75g
* Edit 3:
I had the battery to 97% 28 hours of standby time, 1 hour of GPS on, four hours of Wifi, BT 20 minutes to transfer files and various tweakability with 2 hours of screen on auto brightness ... and the battery is still at 83% (first charge) ...
and consider that i have activated the double tap to wake, that should consume a little ..
OK for OTG function and recharging ability for other smartphone (in fact i have recharged my nexus 5 with 60% of the THL battery).
Only bad things regarding Flash led (blue casting and poor light/power) and camera quality/speed

Used last version of vroot for rooting the phone. After that, i install supersu, remove vroot apps with system app remover, connected the phone to pc in debug usb mode and used mtk droid tool for creating and injecting cwm recovery. U can found guides in this forum.

This thread is ONLY a review of the Star S9500!
The Support topic is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45918412#post45918412
The Review
The Star S9500 call me to attention because of the Quad Core processor and the 12.6MP camera only with 123€!
In that time I was searching for a new phone, but I won't spend more money than 150€. So I searched a bit, and I wont buy some phone in Portugal because of the low specs at the same price. I was looking to an SmartPhone that I could play great games at low price and with long battery life.
I saw the specs of the Star S9500, and I saw that included MTK6589 1.2GHz x4 processor with a great camera, large display and the 2800mAh battery, which for me was a great buy.
In some reviews of the Star cellphones the general people said that they have an overall good quality. So I bought this phone.
The problem started here: I waited for 3 months to receive the phone! It isn't GeekBuying's fault at all, was my country's customs. I had to pay an extra fee (35€) for the S9500. That wasn't a problem, it was very cheeper than any phone here.
I don't have the box in this city (I received in my holydays), so I can't show some pictures. But here is a picture from the GeekBuying's website:

It came with quite good Earphones (if you enable Bass Boost it has great quality for stock phones), with a average quality USB cable, an EU USB charger, two 2800mAh batteries and this case, which it seems to be good quality:
I turned it on with my SIM card, and it was easy to configure. Even the 3G network is configured. The MMS service is configured, but I don't know why it isn't working, but I don't bother with that.
There is some pictures taken in my home:
Don't focus on the GeekBuying's AnTuTu score! The real score is this, which is average, as I installed all my apps and I removed the china apps with MTKDroidTools (I will teach in the support topic):
It doesn't compare to an Quad Core Cortex-A9, but it is quite good for a Cortex-A7.
The screen resolution helps to the performance. As it is only FWVGA instead of HD, it has a difference of 1000 points, and some FPS improvements in general gaming, as if you change the resolution to 720p in Star S9500 it only decreases 500 points, as I will show later.
As you can see, the front camera is 4.9MP instead of 2MP as claimed in the GeekBuying.
It is very smooth. The battery gets drown if you play more than 12h of Real Racing without stopping, and it can last 2-3 days only with SMS and net browsing, and that makes me satisfied.
The bad point is the ROM. It only has 4GB of rom, which you only can use 1.5GB of them for internal storage and 1GB for apps, and the rest for system. That can be solved with a 32GB Micro SD Class 10 card, which I would buy from 22€.
NOTE: The camera came pre-set at 8MP, but in the camera options you can change to 12.6MP, as I will show in support topic!
Here is two pictures with the rear camera, one at day light (1,16MB) and other at night with flashlight (2,29MB):
I didn't take any pictures with the front camera, but I used it many times to do video calls from Skype and it has very good quality has expected for a 5MP camera.
Now about the apps. If you don't remove the china apps, it will appear a folder called mtklog in the internal memory that will be raising the size minute after minute, only with system logs until you run out of space! It's secure to remove, but it will appear in less than an hour.
After I solve all my problems with the phone, I can see that I have a good product, but without any support.
You can post here questions about the phone!
I will create a topic for support for the Star S9500, but you can do questions while it isn't created!
Best regards,
Ivan Santos.
Malware on S9500 at time of shipment!
Hello, I bought my S9500 in Dec-2013. I installed AVG and was immediately warned that OperaService was malware. I thought this cannot be true and ignored the warning. Recently it has been reported that the Star N9500 has been proven to ship with Malware. I have been in touch with G-Data (the company that reported on the N9500), they are almost certain that my phone, S9500 was shipped with Malware installed at the factory.
Bummer, it is a great phone for the money.
So, I got my money back from Amazon, and I think I get to keep the phone. Score!!!
My question (note that I'm new to digging into phones).
If I root the phone, will I be able to remove the OperaService (cannot remove it right now as phone is NOT rooted). I don't care about support anymore, that has obviously gone...
I understand that I may ruin the phone. But with advice from the Forum, I hope to keep it at give it to my daughter.
FYI, I replaced the S9500 with a Nexus 5. Wow, what a great device.

HEllo, just the 3 most important points on chinaphones:
1-Flash Led Power (Compare with another phone if you can, a samsung, an iphone or eben a huawey)
2-Loudspeaker for music/handfree phonecalls
3-GPS (maybe after a root and GPSFix, since 99%of chinaphones are setted on chinese GPS server)
Thank you very much.
I should add that now that you can find a Samsung 3 Neo for €170 I don't know if I would pay more than €100 for this phone

The good: 2GB RAM perfectly unleashes the potential of MT6592, so in terms of gaming, THL T11 is the one of the fastest 8-core smartphone I’ve ever experienced (the other is Huawei Honor 3X). Good craftsmanship as on previous THL handsets. The protective case is smart with automatic wake-up and can be used as a stand.
The bad: The protective case frequently flip open itself. The camera is disappointing.
Bottom line: Though it is 20 US dollars above the que-limit price for a Chinese phone, THL T11 is still worth the price, because it is very close to a high-end stuff in many aspects.
Price has long been my first concern if it comes to talking about a Chinese cell phone, so I didn’t mean to do much about the USD220 THL T11 when the cheapest phone with the Octa-core MTK6592 CPU has been 70 US dollars cheaper, namely, Mijue M10.
Fortunately the 2GB RAM drew my attention and made me wonder if it would help make a difference. Well, it did, and I saw something that stunned me quite a lot, like what you would see in the video below.
Yep, the cars of NFS Most Wanted flied! That gave me confidence to try Real Racing 3, which, seems not bad on the T11, too. And such a phone – I can call it a beast – of course deserves a full review. So here it is.
1. Design:
THL T11 is generally a copy of Xiaomi M3, or you may say both the 2 Chinese-brand phones stole the design language of Nokia Lumia 920, including a long rectangle face with sharp corners, curved-out left and right edges, as well as flat top and bottom.
As the T11 has a user-replaceable battery, there are inevitably seams on its edges for opening of the back cover. That aside, the handset inherits the good craftsmanship from its THL predecessors.
The rear side of THL T11 delivers a soft feel like that from a velvet blanket -- quite different from stock hard plastics covers; being a little bit narrower but thicker, the smartphone looks more compact than Xiaomi Mi3; and it has a neat appearance with no redundant buttons or holes besides a volume rocker, a power starter, a micro USB port, and a 3.5mm jack.
A bonus point could be the protective case which is composed of an extra back cover and a foldable piece of leather. You can flip the front cover open and close to wake up the display and let it sleep. And like the Smart Case of iPad, the T11 case can be used as a stand for video watching, too.
Perhaps the condition is just for the very T11 I hold in hand -- the front cover open itself due to a tensile force, so I have to let the face of the handset down when I put it on a table.
2. Display:
This week I tried three Chinese mobile phones with 5-inch 720p screens, namely, Cubot X6, Mijue M10, THL T11. Of them, Cubot X6 and THL T11 have the worst and best displays, respectively.
On the T11, you can see all the details of an image that should be shown with the resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, and the mild and lively colors are quite eye pleasing.
3. Camera:
If THL T11 had a good camera, I would be willing to spend 30 US dollars more --- USD250 for a cellphone with no major drawback is quite a deal. Unfortunately, THL would rather save the money for a lower price.
The back camera is just a little bit better than a total disaster with low real resolution and pale colors, while the front camera is somewhat heartening. By the way, remember to peel off the piece of blue protective film on the lens of the rear camera, or you’ll get a more blurry picture.
Normal light:
Low light:
With flash:
Under fluorescent lamp:
Selfie:
4. OS:
The T11 runs on the pure Android 4.2.2 with Google Play store pre-installed. People on XDA-developers may not be android purists, but I think this hardware would set your mind at ease for development.
5. Performance
With the gaming experience aforementioned, I knew the T11 would have high scores on benchmark apps. And it did. Antutu gives the smartphone a high score of 27196 and GFX Bench 3.0 says it is able to deal with 41 pictures of 720p resolution in a second.
Not only gaming, every operation on the THL stuff is fast, such as switch across apps trays, open and close of apps, slide of pictures. However, I still feel hiccups during the switch between widget trays – the same problem with all Android 4.2.2 Chinese phones I’ve tested.
It seems that the MTK6592 Octa-core CPU and Mali450 MP4 quad-core GPU make a real fine chipset allocation, which, however, needs a big random access memory (RAM) to liberate itself from fetters. According to my memory, THL T11 should be as fast as Huawei Honor 3X, and the latter, worth more than USD300, happens to contain a 2GB RAM, too.
6. Battery:
Just like what I did on Cubot X6 and Mijue M10, I let a 720p music video loop on the T11 till the battery dies, and at the same time, the Battery Monitor Widget watched out the power consumption. Finally, the 2750mAh lasted the smartphone for about 6 hours of playback.
7. Others:
Though I don’t feel NFC is very useful, at least for now, this module on the T11 is quite responsive -- it connects very quickly to Nexus 4 and transfers files quite smoothly -- have a look at the video above.
8. Conclusion:
Of all cheap Chinese phones, THL T11 may be the first one that I think is a worthy opponent against some internationally known brands. Except camera, the T11 is fine by all means, and in terms of speed, it should’ve been one of the fastest of all 8-core phones by far.
Awesome review. Thanks for info. I am really interested now.

It's just one week experience, so it may or may not be as good after long-time use. You need to see some consumer reviews for more fair judgement.

How about facebook? Does it crash? Some people said that fb version 7 runs ok.
Thank you.
Great review indeed. Especially the battery performance verification method. My T11 is on the way (should arrive within the next week).
People claim that the notification led only works when charging.. Is it true? Is there any way to fix it without installing another ROM?

I think so. T11 is the best mediocre Chinese phone by far, in terms of craftsmanship, smoothness, display and comprehensive strength.
The JIAYU G2F WCDMA was announced really long ago and after long delay if was finally available on June . it was ordered from Banggood and arrived after 16 days
Compering to JIAYU F1 - it's very beautiful device and look much more premium.
I have also made custum CWM recovery for it vie MTK DroidTools you can download it from NeedRom:

External Storage: MicroSD up to 64GB

Appearance and build quality:
The JIAYU G2F seems well built, feels solid in hand and looks really good, on the sides it's real metal frame painted in black (unlike in F1) that contribute to the premium appearance.
The dimensions are almost the same like at 4" JIAYU F1- but in G2F you get 4.3" OGS display .
On the top you got the Power button + 3.5mm headphone jack.
On left it's the volume rocker -doesn't feels loose.
On the button there is microUSB port+ Mic
The back of the device - you can see the regular Sim slot+ microSD slot (+comparison to JIAYU F1):
Actual device weight- 132.5g
Size comperrison VS JIAYU F1:
Call Quality and Speaker:
The call quality is Good even little bit better then JIAYU F1 , the speaker is loud enough with average quality.
Android "4.2.2"
JIAYU G2F comes with android JB 4.2.2, some chines apps were pre-installed that I have deleted them after gaining root access with Frameroot app :good:.
The Ui is nice, and it smooth and I hope JIAYU will release Android 4.4.2 KitKat fir this device.
I must menttion that this rom forces you to get SD-card since all the free ROM (2.3GB) from built-in 4GB is used for app partition- so you must get SD-Card if you like to use camera and etc'.
Display:
JIAYU G2F uses 4.3" 480P IPS OGS panel, the colors are vivid, great viewing angels and good brightness for outdoor use.
The touch screen is responsive and accurate- I have no complaint about the screen & digitizer quality .
Some user were unhappy that the resolution was downgraded to 480P from 720P on TD-SCDMA model, but for my opinion it is OK PPI for 4.3" display + the OGS panel looks better.
Camera:
The JIAYU G2F comes with 8MP OV8825 back camera sensor and 2MP front camera sensor:
Compering to its cheaper brother -the F1, this camera quality looks nice, for ~105$ device it performs really good.
Here are some Samples images from the back camera- Click for 100% size:
GPS:
I have tested the GPS over short trip- had no problems, the First fix can take up-to 30sec but afterwords the fix is fast and GPS performs OK.
Wi-Fi:
Wi-Fi reception is average - not the best I have seen - but I had no problems even in The most distant point in the house..
MTK 6582 Performance:
The MTK6582 Quad-Core got really popular , replacing the good old MTK6589/T and now we can find this Quad -Core in devices under 100$!
MTK6582 offers really good performance in very affordable price, now you can find this SOC in smartphones running Android 4.4.2 KitKat under 100$ with free shipping!.
For 480P/720P displays this SOC offers fluid experiences and lag free UI Transition Animation.
AntutuX:
GFX Bench
NenaMark
Basemark OS2
Battery:
The JIAYU G2F comes with 2200mAh battery, it looks that the capacity rating is legit- it weighs 43.3grams:
The interesting thing is that the G2F battery is identical to F1 battery and only the chemistry is different (3.8V for F1/3.7V for G2F).
The battery life is good, with such spec's it can last 2 days of normal use.
Conclusion
THe JIAYU G2F looks like really nice device, it has great design, solid build, great performance and really nice 4.3" OGS display ,
I just wish JIAYU used 720P OGS dispaly and it could be really great Smartphone.
My Score: 9/10 .

Thanks for the great review! I'm looking for new phone to replace my GSII and this could be interesting.
I'm having trouble finding the 4.4 Kitkat rom, is it officially available?

No, unfortunately there's nothing beyond JB now.
Perfect Review! Thanks. Now i know that the Xmas surprise for my wife works, she likes the size of her F1 but not the camera, and you said that g2f cam is better.
My wife has it now a few days. The Cam, the Display is better and it looks much more nice, not so thick. I rooted it. Yesterday the LED was from ghosthand shining and after the phone was freezing. Only put the Batterie out was the way to start it new. Today it freezes while writing whatsapp (Touchpal keyboard). If there are more hangouts i must flash the Stockrom or another Rom again i think...?
Great phone, but the freezing during charging is annoying, happens almost every night, in the morning the green led is on and the phone is dead until you take the battery out.
Wife is pretty pissed as she uses the phone as an alarm clock...
Checked with Jiayu, found several identical complaints on their store page, all of them followed by a note from Jiayu saying they will contact the person via Email with a new ROM that would fix it...
Wrote a comment, I'll update if I get the new ROM.
The freeze on charging issue is a problem of the 0.36 firmware version, that I also have.
I ask with many mail to jiayu the same firmware or upgrade that you talking about: in his FAQ it talking that send in mail some correction or that it have posted on his site (??? WERE ???) the firmaware.
If anyone know were, or have the firmware please send a link.
Meanwhile to solve the problem, the solution is very simple: once put in charge the phone performed a reboot. This will free the ram (I think it's all over them the problem: the RAM dont refresh) in the morning you will find the phone on and not freeze. To reboot I found convenient install reboot widget (i can't post url, search in play store) with a tap will reboot the device.
Jiayu G2F display problem.
Nice phone. But 4 months after the purchase and decent usage, the display starts to lose its brigthness.
Just two days ago, brigthness dramaticaly lowered, and now it is almost imposible to read it on the daylight.
The problem is caused by hardware, because I had tried many ways, reseting, changind the settings. I even bootloaded factory test menu in chinese, and there is no help with that at all.
What can I do ? Phone was bought in China, i doubt there is a waranty.

Mlais just released their Mlais M7 which comes with some awesome specs for just under $190 dollar. Looks like a decent piece of equipment, though I don't have any idea how the Mlais smartphones normally perform (never had one) and my biggest concern is the battery, will it be enough? What do you guys think, is this a good buy or not?

5.5" inch 720p IPS
1.7GHz Octa-core MT6752

Looks pretty much like the Ulephone Be Touch and in the same way seems to be trying to compete with Elephone's current time market dominator or rather "pioneer" P7000.
Pricewise, you pay for what you get in terms of sacrificing battery life (only thing ive spotted so far - so maybe 1 or 2 more things) to get it a bit cheaper than current price of P7000.
Personally I'd skip this and try my luck with the P7000 as they have sales on wednesdays or something.
this article sums things up nicely as they stand at the moment:fingers-crossed:

Ordered one in presale. When it arrives, I will let you know how it stands against Be Touch.

@s7yler : hi I saw you're tested P7000, and can you tell us, if there is a great gap between these phones about the camera? Also about the battery. Thanks

One thing I can clearly say is that the battery is much better in the P7000, I think it lasts double the time of the M7. Regarding the cameras, the gap is not that big. On the P7000 they still need to optimize the camera (imx214) some more, and on the M7, the sensor is a smaller version (imx135), but still does take some decent pictures.
I liked this phone.
@styler : thanks for your analyze. I like the M7 because dimensions are smaller than P7000 for the same screen size. But, if battery seems to be not efficient, I am prefer waiting an other model.

Does Mlais M7 supports 3G/4G on both SIM1/SIM2 card slots?
Hi guys, what you get as SOT on this phone? 4/5hours maybe? is the battery fake in this one or not?
How is the support for customs roms and such? any issues with touch responsiveness and updates from Mlas?
Own one
Phone is great, looks really good, I think it's one of the smallest 5.5" phones, like there is a difference yet still it gives us nice screen to body ratio, also thickness is very, very comfortable you can carry it in tight jeans in front pocket. Design and dimensions of this phone are it's biggest pro.
Display is HD resolution 720x1280 covered by gorilla glass 3, yes you can get higher resolution screens but they will put more stress on cpu&gpu, lower resolution is better performance and that equals less power needed from 2600mAh battery, so in my opinion (almost three weeks) it's not that bad (could be better, as usual). Front facing camera 5Mp works, 13Mp sensor of back camera is paired with LED flash and can shoot great photos and videos (samples provided).
Specs are as expected MT6752 64Bit octa-core with 3Gigs of ram, splitted in two partitions 16gb memory and Mali T760 GPU. Multitasking on this device is sweet, you can have 20+! apps open in memory without any problems! Actually I don’t have enough apps to use all memory! GPU is fast, hmm I've played some games, games work with high frame rate, without problems. LTE works on both sim slots, (probably not at the same time did not tested). I don't know what's the highest supported capacity of MicroSD card slot, 64-128 maybe more? Fingerprint sensor is present and works without any problems phone unlocks fast. Did not noticed any problems with any wireless connectivity Wi-Fi, bluetooth, LTE (in europe)...
Also happened that I've opened M7 it looks like it shares P7000 motherboard. And that bring us to only one problem with this device. It sucks and it’s lollipop I'm looking for a way to port KitKat to it or find fix for current version. Phone works great but problem is that it's performance is inconsistent. Mlais M7 sometimes start loosing frames in UI elements animation, then reboot or patience helps, I don't have installed any apps on this device (problem testing) and concluded that software needs help.
There is new firmware that removes internal sd card so memory is merged. . Battery sucks but I didn't have any problems so far.
Firmware can be downloaded form mlais support site or can be downloaded from their forum

Hello, a friend of mine have buyied this phone two weeks ago. From the very first moment he have a strange problem: if turn on the torch the led light it's norma. But after using the torch if he try to take any picture with the main camera the screen look totally black. But the frontal camera work normally. He need to reset the phone with a factory reset. If he nenver use the torch both the cameras work well with andwithout the led flash opened. But the first time he need to turn on the torch ...boom! The camera phone became crazy! Now he have done all the OTA updates (now it's at the last version M7-20150727 with android 5.0) but the problem persist.
The phone is under warranty but if anyone know an alternative rom that can resolve the problem, please give us an hand! Thankyou!

Cubot has recently updated its smartphones very rapidly in order to keep pace with the latest tendency with other brands. Earlier days ago, i introduced Cubot X10 and Cubot X11 review in details, however, i brought this Cubot X12 the latest MTK6735 Quad core smartphone for your nice appreciation. Hope you can enjoy this Cubot X12, very competitive with other mtk6735 64bit mobile devices.

5inch QHD IPS screen
I am very pleased with 5inch display, because it's very normal and standard screen size for me to take or bring easily, i can hold it by one hand freely, 5inch laminated screen with IPS technology, which has better contrast under bright light due to 178 degree wide viewing angle. I am a little disappointed about its screen resolution, it has QHD screen resolution, not HD or FHD screen, maybe it's the main reason of the cheap cost. But it’s fine for me to enjoy the TV show.
MTK6735 Quad Core 1.0GHz
Cubot X12 has also kept pace with mtk chipset to announce its own first mtk6735 quad core 1.0Ghz smartphone 64bit to support 4G LTE network which can be used widely especially in Europe. Meanwhile, MTK6735 chipset will save more energy or power compared with the previous MTK6732 or MTK6582 chipset, 64bit processor speeds up the better and faster apps running. Therefore, i am quite satisfied with this latest processor. I play 3D games without any problem.
1GB Ram 8GB Rom
In terms of internal storage, Cubot X12 has less memory for me to store the files or apps. It comes with RAM 1GB ROM 8GB, but if i run the large games or open too many apps, it will be a little stuck. Therefore, I highly recommend you should use your smartphone right instead of opening some unnecessary programs at the same time, we are supposed to learn to turn off some apps that we don’t need. Of course, it can support extra TF card to expand the storage.
8.0MP Back Camera, 5.0MP Front Camera
Cubot X12 is not as outstanding as the last model, cubot X11 in its camera, it supports 8.0MP back camera and 5.0MP front camera, i think front camera is fine to support face beautification, and high definition pictures, but back camera seems a little weak for me, 8.0MP rear camera, i can take the pictures well in the day, but if i try at night, it didn't show well. I don't recommend shooting the pictures at night.
Various functions
Cubot X12 can support multilanguage, google play store, GPS, bluetooth, 4G LTE and so on same as other models, but Cubot X12 has made big progress in IR remote control function. I can set up IR remote control function, and connect with my electronic appliance like TV, air conditioner, electronic fans, etc. This function is very convenient and practical for me to control my appliance at home. Cubot X12 has 2,200mAh strong battery, which can be used one day normally. But if we use it without stop, i guess we need to charge again or a backup.
Therefore, Cubot X12 is a fine and cheap mtk6735 smartphone for me, now i use $8 coupon, coupon code: 8COUPON20150604 to help me save money to get this phone, and Cubot X12 has three colors, black , white, and golden. All in all, cubot x12 is exquisite but not simple !

Good price?
remote control
Where can I find the Remote control app for this phone?
It doesn't seem to respond to voice commands unless you touch the microphone button. - anyone else have this issue? voice detection is on.
does this phone support "double tap to wake"?
Good phone.
Update ROM to R14
I have rooted the mobile via iroot and cannot update firmwares via OTA
I am trying to update the firmware with the procedure:
www_needrom_com/download/cubot-x12/
Unfortunately, when I'm plugging the mobile to my computers (x86 and x64) after removing the battery,
they recognize the mobile just for 1 or 2 seconds, has the mobile does into the image with the battery.
(I assume the download mode is stop).
Any solution for this?
Maybe the drivers are also not the right ones! Therefore the download mode is deactivated.
Could you share the right drivers for this mobile?
When the mobile is running normally, windows can access to it and I can explore it.
Many thanks in advance.

Just avoid to install what you don't want or delete afterwards!
Other solition is to install KingRoot.apk and try it from there!
Hello, I have buy one for my niece (14 years old), she is very happy with it.
I have buy it 80 euros, but now the price is more arround 90 euros, that still a good value for the money
This phone support all the european frequency for 2G, 3G and 4G. All is working well on it, and it looks good.
I have a Doogee Valencia 2 Y100 pro, same chip but 2Go/16Go and 720p 5" screen.
The only point than still for the Valencia 2 Y100 pro after testing the cubot X12, is the 16go rom on the Valencia.
I don't see any difference between the 2go ram and the 1go ram for daily use (phone, sms, mail, internet, light game, photo). And the cubot have IR sensor, good to replace all my ir remote control.
I'm 40 years old, I can't see any difference between 720p and qHD on a 5" screen. So for me it's an advantage to have "only" qHD, it's better for autonomy.
GPS is very accurate same as the Valencia 2 pro, and battery life is better on the cubot. Sound is ok, a litle bit better than on my Valencia 2 pro.
I'm very happy for the moment of this choice for my niece, let see if after few month it still ok. Cubot is not the worst Chinese brands, so it's should be ok

KingRoot will not root this device. there are currently 77 requests submitted to the developer for a solution.
For the record, I have no intention of infecting my PC with malicious trackers and trojans just to root a phone.
Will this work on the 4g of Straight talk/ATT network in Maryland USA?

Hi guys,
Sorry to bother you, not going to lie I know very little indeed about rooting and the like but I am keen to give it a go. I've had the Cubot X12 for around six months and skills love to give rooting a try. Has anyone had any success with this model? All I can find are a variety of instructions none of which sound very consistent.
Would really appreciate anyone with some experience offering a pointer or two
Thanks in advance
