The JIAYU G2F WCDMA was announced really long ago and after long delay if was finally available on June . it was ordered from Banggood and arrived after 16 days
Compering to JIAYU F1 - it's very beautiful device and look much more premium.
I have also made custum CWM recovery for it vie MTK DroidTools you can download it from NeedRom:

Hardware
OS: Android 4.2.2
CPU: Mediatek MTK6582 1.3Ghz Quad-core
GPU: Mali400
Memory: 1 GB RAM / 4 GB Storage
External Storage: MicroSD up to 64GB
Screen:4.3” (800×480) display - GorillaGlass2
Notification LED
Rear-facing Camera: 8MP with 1080p video at 30fps
Front-facing Camera: 2 MP
Wireless: Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 a/b/g/n
Battery: 2200 mAh (removable)
Appearance and build quality:
The JIAYU G2F seems well built, feels solid in hand and looks really good, on the sides it's real metal frame painted in black (unlike in F1) that contribute to the premium appearance.
The dimensions are almost the same like at 4" JIAYU F1- but in G2F you get 4.3" OGS display .
On the top you got the Power button + 3.5mm headphone jack.
On left it's the volume rocker -doesn't feels loose.
On the button there is microUSB port+ Mic
The back of the device - you can see the regular Sim slot+ microSD slot (+comparison to JIAYU F1):
Actual device weight- 132.5g
Size comperrison VS JIAYU F1:
Call Quality and Speaker:
The call quality is Good even little bit better then JIAYU F1 , the speaker is loud enough with average quality.
Android "4.2.2"
JIAYU G2F comes with android JB 4.2.2, some chines apps were pre-installed that I have deleted them after gaining root access with Frameroot app :good:.
The Ui is nice, and it smooth and I hope JIAYU will release Android 4.4.2 KitKat fir this device.
I must menttion that this rom forces you to get SD-card since all the free ROM (2.3GB) from built-in 4GB is used for app partition- so you must get SD-Card if you like to use camera and etc'.
Display:
JIAYU G2F uses 4.3" 480P IPS OGS panel, the colors are vivid, great viewing angels and good brightness for outdoor use.
The touch screen is responsive and accurate- I have no complaint about the screen & digitizer quality .
Some user were unhappy that the resolution was downgraded to 480P from 720P on TD-SCDMA model, but for my opinion it is OK PPI for 4.3" display + the OGS panel looks better.
Camera:
The JIAYU G2F comes with 8MP OV8825 back camera sensor and 2MP front camera sensor:
Compering to its cheaper brother -the F1, this camera quality looks nice, for ~105$ device it performs really good.
Here are some Samples images from the back camera- Click for 100% size:
GPS:
I have tested the GPS over short trip- had no problems, the First fix can take up-to 30sec but afterwords the fix is fast and GPS performs OK.
Wi-Fi:
Wi-Fi reception is average - not the best I have seen - but I had no problems even in The most distant point in the house..
MTK 6582 Performance:
The MTK6582 Quad-Core got really popular , replacing the good old MTK6589/T and now we can find this Quad -Core in devices under 100$!
MTK6582 offers really good performance in very affordable price, now you can find this SOC in smartphones running Android 4.4.2 KitKat under 100$ with free shipping!.
For 480P/720P displays this SOC offers fluid experiences and lag free UI Transition Animation.
AntutuX:
GFX Bench
NenaMark
Basemark OS2
Battery:
The JIAYU G2F comes with 2200mAh battery, it looks that the capacity rating is legit- it weighs 43.3grams:
The interesting thing is that the G2F battery is identical to F1 battery and only the chemistry is different (3.8V for F1/3.7V for G2F).
The battery life is good, with such spec's it can last 2 days of normal use.
Conclusion
THe JIAYU G2F looks like really nice device, it has great design, solid build, great performance and really nice 4.3" OGS display ,
I just wish JIAYU used 720P OGS dispaly and it could be really great Smartphone.
My Score: 9/10 .

Thanks for the great review! I'm looking for new phone to replace my GSII and this could be interesting.
I'm having trouble finding the 4.4 Kitkat rom, is it officially available?

No, unfortunately there's nothing beyond JB now.

Perfect Review! Thanks. Now i know that the Xmas surprise for my wife works, she likes the size of her F1 but not the camera, and you said that g2f cam is better.

My wife has it now a few days. The Cam, the Display is better and it looks much more nice, not so thick. I rooted it. Yesterday the LED was from ghosthand shining and after the phone was freezing. Only put the Batterie out was the way to start it new. Today it freezes while writing whatsapp (Touchpal keyboard). If there are more hangouts i must flash the Stockrom or another Rom again i think...?

Great phone, but the freezing during charging is annoying, happens almost every night, in the morning the green led is on and the phone is dead until you take the battery out.
Wife is pretty pissed as she uses the phone as an alarm clock...
Checked with Jiayu, found several identical complaints on their store page, all of them followed by a note from Jiayu saying they will contact the person via Email with a new ROM that would fix it...
Wrote a comment, I'll update if I get the new ROM.

The freeze on charging issue is a problem of the 0.36 firmware version, that I also have.
I ask with many mail to jiayu the same firmware or upgrade that you talking about: in his FAQ it talking that send in mail some correction or that it have posted on his site (??? WERE ???) the firmaware.
If anyone know were, or have the firmware please send a link.
Meanwhile to solve the problem, the solution is very simple: once put in charge the phone performed a reboot. This will free the ram (I think it's all over them the problem: the RAM dont refresh) in the morning you will find the phone on and not freeze. To reboot I found convenient install reboot widget (i can't post url, search in play store) with a tap will reboot the device.

Jiayu G2F display problem.
Nice phone. But 4 months after the purchase and decent usage, the display starts to lose its brigthness.
Just two days ago, brigthness dramaticaly lowered, and now it is almost imposible to read it on the daylight.
The problem is caused by hardware, because I had tried many ways, reseting, changind the settings. I even bootloaded factory test menu in chinese, and there is no help with that at all.
What can I do ? Phone was bought in China, i doubt there is a waranty.

[REVIEW] Star S9500

If you are interested in this phone, you can found it here:
http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Star...mera-Android-4-2-1-OS-3G-GPS-Grey-316069.html
This thread is ONLY a review of the Star S9500!
The Support topic is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45918412#post45918412
The Review
The Star S9500 call me to attention because of the Quad Core processor and the 12.6MP camera only with 123€!
In that time I was searching for a new phone, but I won't spend more money than 150€. So I searched a bit, and I wont buy some phone in Portugal because of the low specs at the same price. I was looking to an SmartPhone that I could play great games at low price and with long battery life.
I saw the specs of the Star S9500, and I saw that included MTK6589 1.2GHz x4 processor with a great camera, large display and the 2800mAh battery, which for me was a great buy.
In some reviews of the Star cellphones the general people said that they have an overall good quality. So I bought this phone.
The problem started here: I waited for 3 months to receive the phone! It isn't GeekBuying's fault at all, was my country's customs. I had to pay an extra fee (35€) for the S9500. That wasn't a problem, it was very cheeper than any phone here.
I don't have the box in this city (I received in my holydays), so I can't show some pictures. But here is a picture from the GeekBuying's website:
{

It came with quite good Earphones (if you enable Bass Boost it has great quality for stock phones), with a average quality USB cable, an EU USB charger, two 2800mAh batteries and this case, which it seems to be good quality:
I turned it on with my SIM card, and it was easy to configure. Even the 3G network is configured. The MMS service is configured, but I don't know why it isn't working, but I don't bother with that.
There is some pictures taken in my home:

Don't focus on the GeekBuying's AnTuTu score! The real score is this, which is average, as I installed all my apps and I removed the china apps with MTKDroidTools (I will teach in the support topic):

It doesn't compare to an Quad Core Cortex-A9, but it is quite good for a Cortex-A7.
The screen resolution helps to the performance. As it is only FWVGA instead of HD, it has a difference of 1000 points, and some FPS improvements in general gaming, as if you change the resolution to 720p in Star S9500 it only decreases 500 points, as I will show later.
As you can see, the front camera is 4.9MP instead of 2MP as claimed in the GeekBuying.
It is very smooth. The battery gets drown if you play more than 12h of Real Racing without stopping, and it can last 2-3 days only with SMS and net browsing, and that makes me satisfied.
The bad point is the ROM. It only has 4GB of rom, which you only can use 1.5GB of them for internal storage and 1GB for apps, and the rest for system. That can be solved with a 32GB Micro SD Class 10 card, which I would buy from 22€.
NOTE: The camera came pre-set at 8MP, but in the camera options you can change to 12.6MP, as I will show in support topic!
Here is two pictures with the rear camera, one at day light (1,16MB) and other at night with flashlight (2,29MB):

I didn't take any pictures with the front camera, but I used it many times to do video calls from Skype and it has very good quality has expected for a 5MP camera.
Now about the apps. If you don't remove the china apps, it will appear a folder called mtklog in the internal memory that will be raising the size minute after minute, only with system logs until you run out of space! It's secure to remove, but it will appear in less than an hour.
After I solve all my problems with the phone, I can see that I have a good product, but without any support.
You can post here questions about the phone!
I will create a topic for support for the Star S9500, but you can do questions while it isn't created!
Best regards,
Ivan Santos.
Malware on S9500 at time of shipment!
Hello, I bought my S9500 in Dec-2013. I installed AVG and was immediately warned that OperaService was malware. I thought this cannot be true and ignored the warning. Recently it has been reported that the Star N9500 has been proven to ship with Malware. I have been in touch with G-Data (the company that reported on the N9500), they are almost certain that my phone, S9500 was shipped with Malware installed at the factory.
Bummer, it is a great phone for the money.
So, I got my money back from Amazon, and I think I get to keep the phone. Score!!!
My question (note that I'm new to digging into phones).
If I root the phone, will I be able to remove the OperaService (cannot remove it right now as phone is NOT rooted). I don't care about support anymore, that has obviously gone...
I understand that I may ruin the phone. But with advice from the Forum, I hope to keep it at give it to my daughter.
FYI, I replaced the S9500 with a Nexus 5. Wow, what a great device.

HEllo, just the 3 most important points on chinaphones:
1-Flash Led Power (Compare with another phone if you can, a samsung, an iphone or eben a huawey)
2-Loudspeaker for music/handfree phonecalls
3-GPS (maybe after a root and GPSFix, since 99%of chinaphones are setted on chinese GPS server)
Thank you very much.
I should add that now that you can find a Samsung 3 Neo for €170 I don't know if I would pay more than €100 for this phone

W.D Fone W92 Review

The first thing you might notice is that the W.D Fone W92 looks an awful lot like the Lenovo S960/ Vibe X. I’ve never owned the Vibe X but it appears the W92 is indeed the same phone but with a Mediatek MT6592 octa core SoC clocked at 1.7 Ghz, and a 2800 mAh battery. The other big differences are the ROM and the much lower price. I bought the phone for about $200 and for such a low cost device it has a lot of promise. Let’s take a look at how it handled itself.
Specs
5 inch 720p display
Dual SIM
Mediatek MT6592 octa core processor clocked at 1.7 Ghz
Mali 450MP4 GPU
2GB RAM
16GB storage with expansion slot for up to 32GB cards
2MP front and 8MP rear cameras
2800 mAh battery
Android KitKat 4.4
Unboxing
I bought the W.D Fone W92 from Merimobiles and had it shipped by DHL. It took a few days for the order to process and ship, and then about 4 days to get it from DHL. The phone was well packaged to ensure no damage occurred.
The box was silver and was nothing too fancy. Inside were headphones, manuals, micro usb cable, and a wall adapter.
Check out the unboxing video here.
Check out the full video review here.
Physical feature
The W.D Fone W92 has a comfortable feel with it’s 145 x 73 x 8.1mm dimensions. At 104 grams it’s also a very light device making prolonged use very easy.
The back has a nice textured back plate that aids with grip. On the back top left corner you’ll find the 8 MP camera and flash.
On the front right hand side is the 2 MP camera.
On the right hand side is the power button.
On the left side is the volume rocker.
Micro USB connector is right in the centre on the bottom.
3.5mm headphone jack is on the top.
Display
The W92 has a 5 inch 1280 x 720 IPS display, but no Gorilla Glass, so you’ll have to be a little more careful. For scratches and blemishes I always recommend a screen protector since they are so inexpensive to put on. The screen has a good feel to it and is fairly responsive during use. Although the screen quality doesn’t stand out as amazing, it is quite bright and looks more than acceptable for a 720p display. Of course the big benefit with a 720p display, especially with the MT6592 SoC is the added battery life.
Software
I’ve seen this phone advertised with Android 4.4 but didn’t think much about it. Upon further investigation, the official W.D Fone site talks about 4.4, the box is labelled as 4.4, and the settings screen has it listed as running Android 4.4 KitKat.
The default ROM runs just fine and the launcher has minimal lag. I haven’t run into any significant glitches, but the appearance of the UI is a bit generic and boring. Of course that is a very simple fix by downloading something more to your liking from the Play Store.
Boot time is only 11 seconds which is very nice to see.
WiFi
The W.D Fone W92 has 2.4 and 5 Ghz WiFi. I tested the phone by taking both a 2.4 and 5 Ghz reading:
By the router
At the furthest point on my upstairs level
At the furthest point in my basement level
5Ghz
Router = 28.17 mbps
Upstairs = 7.71 mbps
Downstairs= 1.35 mbps
2.4Ghz
Router =32.99 mbps
Upstairs =21.38 mbps
Downstairs=11.96 mbps
Call quality
The call quality was average. For some reason all of the Mediatek powered devices I’ve tested have ok sound quality but it is set very low. The quality is not bad but can be harder to hear. Luckily this is an easy fix. You can root the phone if not already rooted, and then install MobileUncle from the Play store. In that app you can access the handset volume portion and raise the volume to your preferred level.
Speakers
The rear speaker on the W92 does an ok job. It’s not an over achiever but gets the job done. It has descent volume but seriously lacks bass and often distorts when the volume is set to full.
Video Playback
Video playback has been good on all MT6592 powered phones I’ve tried. All formats play well and the nice thing about having a 1280 x 720 display is it helps out with frame rate/ FPS. I tried YouTube clips as well as several movies in different formats and did not experience any issues.
Web Browsing
The W92 like other MT6592 phones I’ve tested does very well with web browsing. Page change overs are quick as are load times. Expect general online performance to be on par with higher end devices.
Cameras
The W92 has pretty much what I expected out of a $200 phone. The 2 mega pixel front facing camera does an ok job under normal conditions and the 8 mega pixel is for capturing spontaneous pictures but would certainly not be my first choice for a camera if I knew I was going into a situation that I would be taking pics. The flash was bright enough but overall there is too much noise in the pictures.
GPS
The GPS is always an uncertainty with many of these less expensive Mediatek devices. I’m pleased to say the GPS worked fairly well on the W92. I tested it on a clear, sunny day using Google maps(with data), and NavFree(no data) and both worked with no issues.
I obtained a cold lock with the phone in airplane mode to eliminate the data assistance and got a lock in
25 seconds with subsequent locks in less than 3 seconds.
Actual use of the GPS while travelling was also good with no issues to report.
Benchmarks
It’s often easy to forget that for such an inexpensive SoC, the Mediatek MT6592 offers very good performance. The W92 is not exception and with the 720p display the results only looked better.
Antutu
27,205
This puts it pretty much on par with the Samsung Galaxy S4
Nenamark 2
60.5fps
This is a great score in this test. 1080P display with this SoC score on average around 48fps.
CPU Prime
6432
This put the device 432 points ahead of the LG G2
Bottom line, lots of CPU power.
Vellamo
HTML5
2109
Metal

Battery
With the specs listed, one would think the battery life of the W92 would be exceptional. Unfortunately it wasn’t. With light use the phone can easily last a full day but don’t expect much more than that. To test the on screen time I put the phone on a video loop playing a movie with the brightness on auto. It managed a rather weak 4 hours and 43minutes. This leads me to believe the battery isn’t actually 2800 mAh.
Gaming
I tested the device with: Into the dead, Dead Trigger 2, and Front Line Commando 2. All 3 worked very well with no lag but the responsiveness is just not at the same level as Snapdragon devices using Adreno 330 graphics such as the Lenovo Vibe Z I reviewed. Also trying to enjoy games on a 5 inch display is more of a challenge as in my opinion it feels just a tad cramped.
Final Thoughts
The W.D Fone W92 is a solid offering at the $200 price range. It has a good feel to it and performs well overall. I was surprised how well the GPS worked as several recent Mediatek powered devices I’ve used, have still exhibited poor GPS results. The MT6592 performs well as usual and the addition of Android 4.4 KitKat is a welcome addition. Weak areas of the phone are the cameras, and the battery life.
The cameras will only satisfy those that are looking for mediocre results. If you want quality shots, this phone is simply not capable.
I thought the battery life might be a huge pro for this device with it’s 5” 720p display and 2800 mAh battery. but it ended up being rather disappointing. While it will easily make it through a full day for a light user, power users will certainly need a a top up charge.
Those looking for something similar to an updated version of the Lenovo Vibe X at a reduced price might want to take a look.
is the phone still working?
I see this phone for under $130. Was wondering if it is reliable and was worried that they use unreliable screens that will become unresponsive within 2 months. Was going to buy this for my cousins overseas. Honest truth would be appreciated.

The phone has two freebies a plastic transparent back cover protector and 2 screen protector (1 pre-installed), that's it , hope soon a tempered glass and an earphone to be well as add on would be nice. I am getting antutu scoremark upto 29K+ with everything off including wifi, antivirus, weather, but except network reception. Reception is strong so as the wifi strength. The cons I find is that there apps like weather that is limited to certain countries mostly asia, since I am working here at middle east its lacking instead I installed accuweather to solve the weather thing. I also notice a notification of overheat issue when I benchmark this phone twice consecutively, prompting the phone to shut down itself to prevent any problem, I then restart after 5 mins, and its ok already. I am hoping the quality to last me at least more than a year.
Here's a picture of my purchase:
I bought the Cubot X9, and I'm real anxious for it to arrive. I was expecting that if people didn't have any complaints about quality control, the screen, bugs, or other detractors, they'd be glowing about how awesome the phone is for the price. I've read that FramaRoot works to unlock it, and you can install the Play Store. How can we get this phone added to XDA, because it could become the new hot phone if we can get a custom bootloader on it.
Right now I have an Amazon Fire Phone, and I'm ready to sell it and stick with this one if it is as good as it appears to be in the few reviews and YouTube videos available.

I ordered one from DX. hope the phone will come soon. looking great device.
my cubto x9 antutu scores
It is not much antutu around 29K less
I ordered mine of GearBest on January 8th... Not so patiently awaiting its arrival. It left the Netherlands (yay for shipping from China via PostNL!) so will hopefully be here sooner rather than later. I'll be posting an unboxing when I get it, and a review once I've used it for a bit.
It says X9 has 16gb ROM, can anyone tell me how it is partitioned?
Is it 16gb (minus OS space) one partition, or 2 partitions as on X6 and older phones?
Becouse I need dual sim, and if it is 1gb + 15 gb, then it is useless without memory card.
Thanks for reply.

Hello
The phone is great.
How can I change on Cubot X9 the lock screen background and how can I add widget or buttons to ?
Tkx
yeah is cool
You Can change it but with other launcher but I don't know how change it with the default launcher and the phone is nice is fast and the battery no is bad just that the temperature is a little high , and not more this phone with the 3g not during 8 hour but with the 2g during 17- 25 hour or more how you use it. I wait the lollipop for this phone .
Just saw this thread - it looks as if the X9 can have two SIMs *or* one SIM and a microSD card, but *not* two SIMs and a microSD card. Is that right? It's not useful to me if so.
That's right.

Like the name already implies, the NO.1 Mi4 is a clone of the popular Xiaomi Mi4, but it costs less than the half of the original price. It has an MTK 6582 SoC, 5″ HD display, 1 GB ROM and 16 GB ROM. The NO.1 Mi4 is available for around 115€ plus tax and sending costs here at the eFox shop. At the end of the post you can find like usual the video review.

Items delivered:
The NO.1 Mi4 comes with two boxes: One white glossy and one matt brown. The content of the white box is a collection of several accessoires: A tempered glass foil, a normal screen protection foil, a flip cover (to be sticked on the back) and a flexible, half transparent silicon case. Here an overview:
The phone is in the second box, together with a printed manual (on English), a USB wall plug (5.3V, 1A) and a tool for opening the SIM tray. Here's also a small overview from this box:
Unboxing Video:
First impressions:
One thing I noticed immediately while unpacking the phone: This thing was damn cold ! The combination of metal frame and cold delivery truck cooled down the temperature of the fingers in the first moments. After giving it some time to warm up, just the metal frame feels pleasently cool when touched. In general the NO.1 Mi4 gives a very valuable impression for its price: The one piece metal frame is processed smooth and very nicely, also the side buttons are made from metal. The capacitve menu buttons Menu, Home and Back (all lighted) are placed on the bottom of the front side. On the top of the fron side the light and proximity sensor are placed. Below the Home button a notification LED is placed, which is not noticable when not lighted.
The volume rocker and the power button is placed on the right side. Both are made out of metal and have a nice pressure point.
The SIM tray is placed on the left side which can be opened with the delivered SIM-tool. At first I had some troubles inserting the SIM card into the phone, since the tray sticked out probably a half millimeter after I placed the SIM card in. After some careful grinding of the back from the SIM-card and slightly pushing the tray towards the back of the phone while inserting, the tray finally was flush to the device.
The micro USB is placed on the bottom beside the loudspeaker. The openings for the speaker are nicely processed.
On the top side the 3.5 mm headphone port and the IR-Blaster are placed. The IR-Blaster is not a mock up, it is fully functioning (see the review video).
UI/Android:
The NO.1 Mi4 comes with a preinstalled MIUI launcher, although no real MIUI. I personally like the launcher, even if it is not a full MIUI, since it mostly includes all Android features. Also no lags or crashes were noticed.
The Android version is a bit surprising: According to the specifications it should have Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but clicking several times on the model name reveals another version: Android 4.4.2 Jelly Bean ! Well, that's a bit refreshing . So obviously it is a fake version. The supposedly Android 4.4.2 KitKat is an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in reality.
Performance:
To get a rough idea about the performance the Antutu benchmark version 5 was executed. The benchmark returned a score of roughly 19500 points. Obviously this score can not be compared with the original Mi4, but still a good score for the combination of MTK6582 and 1 GB RAM. The NO.1 Mi4 should be fast enough for the majority of apps.
Memory:
The NO.1 Mi4 has a 16 GB memory. This memory is divided into internal and phone memory. The internal memory has a size of 1.06 GB, while the internal memory is 13.6 GB big. The internal memory is chosen kind of small and will be filled up quickly with apps. Right now Link2SD is enough for me, otherwise the memory can be partitioned new.
The phone does not have a microSD card slot.
The NO.1 Mi4's memory can be extended using external memory since it supports USB OTG (tested with an pendrive).
Camera:
You can see the camera pictures on my blog :
http://klonom.com/no-1-mi4-review/
Display:
The NO.1 Mi4 has a 5" IPS HD display (1280x720 resolution) which is an OGS. The display has vivid colors and a good constant viewing angle (see video review below).
Reception:
The reception is good and does not show any extraordinary problems. It supports the following bands (SIM1 & SIM2):
Sensors:
The Mi4 clone has four sensors in total: Light, proximity, magnetic field and acceleration. All are working and tested fully functional. Especially the light sensor worked exceptionally fast, without noticeable lag. Also the proximity sensor works reliable, the screen always turned off while calling.
GPS:
The first GPS fix out of the box was done after about half minute. After another half minute the accuracy went up to about 5 m. While using it for navigation, the GPS connection was lost several times. I will try to improve the GPS with some tweaks like adjusting the EPO etc. and report if it improved and working for navigation.
Misc:
The NO.1 Mi4 has a notification LED which supports the colors red, cyan, green, yellow and white. It has Google Apps preinstalled. The preinstalled MIUI launcher has root-access by default. The build-in battery has a capacity of 1800 mAh (the capacity was measured). The NO.1 has a working IR-Blaster (see the review video), also the remote control app is in English. The silicon case has a dust stop for the headphone and microUSB port.
Review Video:
Conclusion:
I am very convinced by the NO.1 Mi4. Not really much by the performance: For this price you can easily get a phone with better hardware specifications. But the Mi4 clone offers a very high valuable outer appearance - the complete outer feels like a flagship. And in 99% of my everyday use I do not need an octa core with 2 GB RAM. Also it is delivered with a generous collection of accessoires. All in all I can definitely recommend the NO.1 Mi4 for people searching for a budget price phone, but with the appearance of a high price phone.
Great review, thanks a lot. I love the MIUI-Rom and will give this clone a try. Did you find other ROMs for the NO.1 MI4?

Mlais just released their Mlais M7 which comes with some awesome specs for just under $190 dollar. Looks like a decent piece of equipment, though I don't have any idea how the Mlais smartphones normally perform (never had one) and my biggest concern is the battery, will it be enough? What do you guys think, is this a good buy or not?

Looks pretty much like the Ulephone Be Touch and in the same way seems to be trying to compete with Elephone's current time market dominator or rather "pioneer" P7000.
Pricewise, you pay for what you get in terms of sacrificing battery life (only thing ive spotted so far - so maybe 1 or 2 more things) to get it a bit cheaper than current price of P7000.
Personally I'd skip this and try my luck with the P7000 as they have sales on wednesdays or something.
this article sums things up nicely as they stand at the moment:fingers-crossed:

Ordered one in presale. When it arrives, I will let you know how it stands against Be Touch.
some recovery modded for this phone?

@s7yler : hi I saw you're tested P7000, and can you tell us, if there is a great gap between these phones about the camera? Also about the battery. Thanks

One thing I can clearly say is that the battery is much better in the P7000, I think it lasts double the time of the M7. Regarding the cameras, the gap is not that big. On the P7000 they still need to optimize the camera (imx214) some more, and on the M7, the sensor is a smaller version (imx135), but still does take some decent pictures.
I liked this phone.
@styler : thanks for your analyze. I like the M7 because dimensions are smaller than P7000 for the same screen size. But, if battery seems to be not efficient, I am prefer waiting an other model.

Does Mlais M7 supports 3G/4G on both SIM1/SIM2 card slots?
Hi guys, what you get as SOT on this phone? 4/5hours maybe? is the battery fake in this one or not?
How is the support for customs roms and such? any issues with touch responsiveness and updates from Mlas?
Own one
Phone is great, looks really good, I think it's one of the smallest 5.5" phones, like there is a difference yet still it gives us nice screen to body ratio, also thickness is very, very comfortable you can carry it in tight jeans in front pocket. Design and dimensions of this phone are it's biggest pro.
Display is HD resolution 720x1280 covered by gorilla glass 3, yes you can get higher resolution screens but they will put more stress on cpu&gpu, lower resolution is better performance and that equals less power needed from 2600mAh battery, so in my opinion (almost three weeks) it's not that bad (could be better, as usual). Front facing camera 5Mp works, 13Mp sensor of back camera is paired with LED flash and can shoot great photos and videos (samples provided).
Specs are as expected MT6752 64Bit octa-core with 3Gigs of ram, splitted in two partitions 16gb memory and Mali T760 GPU. Multitasking on this device is sweet, you can have 20+! apps open in memory without any problems! Actually I don’t have enough apps to use all memory! GPU is fast, hmm I've played some games, games work with high frame rate, without problems. LTE works on both sim slots, (probably not at the same time did not tested). I don't know what's the highest supported capacity of MicroSD card slot, 64-128 maybe more? Fingerprint sensor is present and works without any problems phone unlocks fast. Did not noticed any problems with any wireless connectivity Wi-Fi, bluetooth, LTE (in europe)...
Also happened that I've opened M7 it looks like it shares P7000 motherboard. And that bring us to only one problem with this device. It sucks and it’s lollipop I'm looking for a way to port KitKat to it or find fix for current version. Phone works great but problem is that it's performance is inconsistent. Mlais M7 sometimes start loosing frames in UI elements animation, then reboot or patience helps, I don't have installed any apps on this device (problem testing) and concluded that software needs help.
There is new firmware that removes internal sd card so memory is merged. . Battery sucks but I didn't have any problems so far.
Firmware can be downloaded form mlais support site or can be downloaded from their forum

Hello, a friend of mine have buyied this phone two weeks ago. From the very first moment he have a strange problem: if turn on the torch the led light it's norma. But after using the torch if he try to take any picture with the main camera the screen look totally black. But the frontal camera work normally. He need to reset the phone with a factory reset. If he nenver use the torch both the cameras work well with andwithout the led flash opened. But the first time he need to turn on the torch ...boom! The camera phone became crazy! Now he have done all the OTA updates (now it's at the last version M7-20150727 with android 5.0) but the problem persist.
The phone is under warranty but if anyone know an alternative rom that can resolve the problem, please give us an hand! Thankyou!
