This thread is ONLY a review of the Star S9500!
The Support topic is here:

The Review
The Star S9500 call me to attention because of the Quad Core processor and the 12.6MP camera only with 123€!
In that time I was searching for a new phone, but I won't spend more money than 150€. So I searched a bit, and I wont buy some phone in Portugal because of the low specs at the same price. I was looking to an SmartPhone that I could play great games at low price and with long battery life.
I saw the specs of the Star S9500, and I saw that included MTK6589 1.2GHz x4 processor with a great camera, large display and the 2800mAh battery, which for me was a great buy.
In some reviews of the Star cellphones the general people said that they have an overall good quality. So I bought this phone.
The problem started here: I waited for 3 months to receive the phone! It isn't GeekBuying's fault at all, was my country's customs. I had to pay an extra fee (35€) for the S9500. That wasn't a problem, it was very cheeper than any phone here.
I don't have the box in this city (I received in my holydays), so I can't show some pictures. But here is a picture from the GeekBuying's website:

It came with quite good Earphones (if you enable Bass Boost it has great quality for stock phones), with a average quality USB cable, an EU USB charger, two 2800mAh batteries and this case, which it seems to be good quality:
I turned it on with my SIM card, and it was easy to configure. Even the 3G network is configured. The MMS service is configured, but I don't know why it isn't working, but I don't bother with that.
There is some pictures taken in my home:
Don't focus on the GeekBuying's AnTuTu score! The real score is this, which is average, as I installed all my apps and I removed the china apps with MTKDroidTools (I will teach in the support topic):
It doesn't compare to an Quad Core Cortex-A9, but it is quite good for a Cortex-A7.
The screen resolution helps to the performance. As it is only FWVGA instead of HD, it has a difference of 1000 points, and some FPS improvements in general gaming, as if you change the resolution to 720p in Star S9500 it only decreases 500 points, as I will show later.
As you can see, the front camera is 4.9MP instead of 2MP as claimed in the GeekBuying.
It is very smooth. The battery gets drown if you play more than 12h of Real Racing without stopping, and it can last 2-3 days only with SMS and net browsing, and that makes me satisfied.
The bad point is the ROM. It only has 4GB of rom, which you only can use 1.5GB of them for internal storage and 1GB for apps, and the rest for system. That can be solved with a 32GB Micro SD Class 10 card, which I would buy from 22€.
NOTE: The camera came pre-set at 8MP, but in the camera options you can change to 12.6MP, as I will show in support topic!
Here is two pictures with the rear camera, one at day light (1,16MB) and other at night with flashlight (2,29MB):
I didn't take any pictures with the front camera, but I used it many times to do video calls from Skype and it has very good quality has expected for a 5MP camera.
Now about the apps. If you don't remove the china apps, it will appear a folder called mtklog in the internal memory that will be raising the size minute after minute, only with system logs until you run out of space! It's secure to remove, but it will appear in less than an hour.
After I solve all my problems with the phone, I can see that I have a good product, but without any support.
You can post here questions about the phone!
I will create a topic for support for the Star S9500, but you can do questions while it isn't created!
Best regards,
Ivan Santos.
Malware on S9500 at time of shipment!
Hello, I bought my S9500 in Dec-2013. I installed AVG and was immediately warned that OperaService was malware. I thought this cannot be true and ignored the warning. Recently it has been reported that the Star N9500 has been proven to ship with Malware. I have been in touch with G-Data (the company that reported on the N9500), they are almost certain that my phone, S9500 was shipped with Malware installed at the factory.
Bummer, it is a great phone for the money.
So, I got my money back from Amazon, and I think I get to keep the phone. Score!!!
My question (note that I'm new to digging into phones).
If I root the phone, will I be able to remove the OperaService (cannot remove it right now as phone is NOT rooted). I don't care about support anymore, that has obviously gone...
I understand that I may ruin the phone. But with advice from the Forum, I hope to keep it at give it to my daughter.
FYI, I replaced the S9500 with a Nexus 5. Wow, what a great device.

HEllo, just the 3 most important points on chinaphones:
1-Flash Led Power (Compare with another phone if you can, a samsung, an iphone or eben a huawey)
2-Loudspeaker for music/handfree phonecalls
3-GPS (maybe after a root and GPSFix, since 99%of chinaphones are setted on chinese GPS server)
Thank you very much.
I should add that now that you can find a Samsung 3 Neo for €170 I don't know if I would pay more than €100 for this phone

The JIAYU G2F WCDMA was announced really long ago and after long delay if was finally available on June . it was ordered from Banggood and arrived after 16 days
Compering to JIAYU F1 - it's very beautiful device and look much more premium.
I have also made custum CWM recovery for it vie MTK DroidTools you can download it from NeedRom:

Hardware
OS: Android 4.2.2
CPU: Mediatek MTK6582 1.3Ghz Quad-core
GPU: Mali400
Memory: 1 GB RAM / 4 GB Storage
External Storage: MicroSD up to 64GB
Screen:4.3” (800×480) display - GorillaGlass2
Notification LED
Rear-facing Camera: 8MP with 1080p video at 30fps
Front-facing Camera: 2 MP
Wireless: Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 a/b/g/n
Battery: 2200 mAh (removable)
Appearance and build quality:
The JIAYU G2F seems well built, feels solid in hand and looks really good, on the sides it's real metal frame painted in black (unlike in F1) that contribute to the premium appearance.
The dimensions are almost the same like at 4" JIAYU F1- but in G2F you get 4.3" OGS display .
On the top you got the Power button + 3.5mm headphone jack.
On left it's the volume rocker -doesn't feels loose.
On the button there is microUSB port+ Mic
The back of the device - you can see the regular Sim slot+ microSD slot (+comparison to JIAYU F1):
Actual device weight- 132.5g
Size comperrison VS JIAYU F1:
Call Quality and Speaker:
The call quality is Good even little bit better then JIAYU F1 , the speaker is loud enough with average quality.
Android "4.2.2"
JIAYU G2F comes with android JB 4.2.2, some chines apps were pre-installed that I have deleted them after gaining root access with Frameroot app :good:.
The Ui is nice, and it smooth and I hope JIAYU will release Android 4.4.2 KitKat fir this device.
I must menttion that this rom forces you to get SD-card since all the free ROM (2.3GB) from built-in 4GB is used for app partition- so you must get SD-Card if you like to use camera and etc'.
Display:
JIAYU G2F uses 4.3" 480P IPS OGS panel, the colors are vivid, great viewing angels and good brightness for outdoor use.
The touch screen is responsive and accurate- I have no complaint about the screen & digitizer quality .
Some user were unhappy that the resolution was downgraded to 480P from 720P on TD-SCDMA model, but for my opinion it is OK PPI for 4.3" display + the OGS panel looks better.
Camera:
The JIAYU G2F comes with 8MP OV8825 back camera sensor and 2MP front camera sensor:
Compering to its cheaper brother -the F1, this camera quality looks nice, for ~105$ device it performs really good.
Here are some Samples images from the back camera- Click for 100% size:
GPS:
I have tested the GPS over short trip- had no problems, the First fix can take up-to 30sec but afterwords the fix is fast and GPS performs OK.
Wi-Fi:
Wi-Fi reception is average - not the best I have seen - but I had no problems even in The most distant point in the house..
MTK 6582 Performance:
The MTK6582 Quad-Core got really popular , replacing the good old MTK6589/T and now we can find this Quad -Core in devices under 100$!
MTK6582 offers really good performance in very affordable price, now you can find this SOC in smartphones running Android 4.4.2 KitKat under 100$ with free shipping!.
For 480P/720P displays this SOC offers fluid experiences and lag free UI Transition Animation.
AntutuX:
GFX Bench
NenaMark
Basemark OS2
Battery:
The JIAYU G2F comes with 2200mAh battery, it looks that the capacity rating is legit- it weighs 43.3grams:
The interesting thing is that the G2F battery is identical to F1 battery and only the chemistry is different (3.8V for F1/3.7V for G2F).
The battery life is good, with such spec's it can last 2 days of normal use.
Conclusion
THe JIAYU G2F looks like really nice device, it has great design, solid build, great performance and really nice 4.3" OGS display ,
I just wish JIAYU used 720P OGS dispaly and it could be really great Smartphone.
My Score: 9/10 .

No, unfortunately there's nothing beyond JB now.
Perfect Review! Thanks. Now i know that the Xmas surprise for my wife works, she likes the size of her F1 but not the camera, and you said that g2f cam is better.
My wife has it now a few days. The Cam, the Display is better and it looks much more nice, not so thick. I rooted it. Yesterday the LED was from ghosthand shining and after the phone was freezing. Only put the Batterie out was the way to start it new. Today it freezes while writing whatsapp (Touchpal keyboard). If there are more hangouts i must flash the Stockrom or another Rom again i think...?
Great phone, but the freezing during charging is annoying, happens almost every night, in the morning the green led is on and the phone is dead until you take the battery out.
Wife is pretty pissed as she uses the phone as an alarm clock...
Checked with Jiayu, found several identical complaints on their store page, all of them followed by a note from Jiayu saying they will contact the person via Email with a new ROM that would fix it...
Wrote a comment, I'll update if I get the new ROM.
The freeze on charging issue is a problem of the 0.36 firmware version, that I also have.
I ask with many mail to jiayu the same firmware or upgrade that you talking about: in his FAQ it talking that send in mail some correction or that it have posted on his site (??? WERE ???) the firmaware.
If anyone know were, or have the firmware please send a link.
Meanwhile to solve the problem, the solution is very simple: once put in charge the phone performed a reboot. This will free the ram (I think it's all over them the problem: the RAM dont refresh) in the morning you will find the phone on and not freeze. To reboot I found convenient install reboot widget (i can't post url, search in play store) with a tap will reboot the device.
Jiayu G2F display problem.
Nice phone. But 4 months after the purchase and decent usage, the display starts to lose its brigthness.
Just two days ago, brigthness dramaticaly lowered, and now it is almost imposible to read it on the daylight.
The problem is caused by hardware, because I had tried many ways, reseting, changind the settings. I even bootloaded factory test menu in chinese, and there is no help with that at all.
What can I do ? Phone was bought in China, i doubt there is a waranty.

Ordered one here Cubot X9
code CUBOTX9LG, get the price down to $132.99 FS Hope to get it soon
The price is actually down to 129.99 FS with the same coupon code
I'm really curious as to how the battery life is on this bad boy. 2200 mAh isn't great.
cubot x9 purchase
Got this phone when it was pre order @ $150 got a discount coupon 5% less. The phone is quite good for me, its light & fast, I ask the seller to takeout all the chinese apps and install playstore. As they did when I received the item. The phone has two freebies a plastic transparent back cover protector and 2 screen protector (1 pre-installed), that's it , hope soon a tempered glass and an earphone to be well as add on would be nice. I am getting antutu scoremark upto 29K+ with everything off including wifi, antivirus, weather, but except network reception. Reception is strong so as the wifi strength. The cons I find is that there apps like weather that is limited to certain countries mostly asia, since I am working here at middle east its lacking instead I installed accuweather to solve the weather thing. I also notice a notification of overheat issue when I benchmark this phone twice consecutively, prompting the phone to shut down itself to prevent any problem, I then restart after 5 mins, and its ok already. I am hoping the quality to last me at least more than a year.
Here's a picture of my purchase:
I bought the Cubot X9, and I'm real anxious for it to arrive. I was expecting that if people didn't have any complaints about quality control, the screen, bugs, or other detractors, they'd be glowing about how awesome the phone is for the price. I've read that FramaRoot works to unlock it, and you can install the Play Store. How can we get this phone added to XDA, because it could become the new hot phone if we can get a custom bootloader on it.
Right now I have an Amazon Fire Phone, and I'm ready to sell it and stick with this one if it is as good as it appears to be in the few reviews and YouTube videos available.

my cubto x9 antutu scores
It is not much antutu around 29K less
I ordered mine of GearBest on January 8th... Not so patiently awaiting its arrival. It left the Netherlands (yay for shipping from China via PostNL!) so will hopefully be here sooner rather than later. I'll be posting an unboxing when I get it, and a review once I've used it for a bit.
It says X9 has 16gb ROM, can anyone tell me how it is partitioned?
Is it 16gb (minus OS space) one partition, or 2 partitions as on X6 and older phones?
Becouse I need dual sim, and if it is 1gb + 15 gb, then it is useless without memory card.
Thanks for reply.

Hello
The phone is great.
How can I change on Cubot X9 the lock screen background and how can I add widget or buttons to ?
Tkx
yeah is cool
You Can change it but with other launcher but I don't know how change it with the default launcher and the phone is nice is fast and the battery no is bad just that the temperature is a little high , and not more this phone with the 3g not during 8 hour but with the 2g during 17- 25 hour or more how you use it. I wait the lollipop for this phone .
Just saw this thread - it looks as if the X9 can have two SIMs *or* one SIM and a microSD card, but *not* two SIMs and a microSD card. Is that right? It's not useful to me if so.
That's right.

Items delivered:
The Cubot Zorro 001 is delivered in a black box which gives a very high valuable impression. On the box there are several letterings like “Keep in touch” which are written with a black shiny paint, which can only be seen when in direct light reflexion. In the box the folllowing accessoires are given beside the actual device and battery: A screen protection foil, a half transparent pastic back-shell, a quick-start guide, a USB data-/charging cable and a USB wall plug (5V, 1A). A small overview you can see in the next picture.
Unboxing Video:
First Impressions:
You directly notice the clean and simple design of the Cubot Zorro 001 already while unpacking it: The mobile has clean straight edges which are just slightly radiused. Also the Zorro is kept in a plain black design overall (at least at my black version ). The phone leaves a serious impression – no optical gadgetry or radiusments. It feels comparably valuable – no slits are recognizable in the cover. On the bottom front side the three capacitive buttons Menu, Home and Back (from left to right) can be found. These buttons have a backlight – unfortunately a bit unsymmetric lighted at our model (this is the only found deficit in the outer appearance so far).
The distinctively simple design is also applied to the volume rocker as well as to power button. These two are placed on the right side.
The left side is completely without any connectors or buttons.
The 3.5 mm headphone jack is found on the top side.
The MicroUSB is placed on the bottom side. This is always a small plus point for me since a USB jack on the top side often makes the mobile phone hard to use while charging.
On the back side you can find the camera lens together with the flash, openings for the loudspeaker and the Cubot logo. The backside feels slighty smooth with a silky-like covering. Unfortunately this material seems to attract fat from fingerprints nearly “magically”.
Underneath the backcover you can find the battery (what a surprise ), as well as the both Micro-SIM-Slots and the MicroSD-Slot.
UI/Android:
The Cubot Zorro 001 is delivered with an Android 4.4.4 KitKat stock rom. I personally like phones which are delivered with a vanilla Android. From one side because own modifications are probably less stressfull (like e.g. Xposed), from the other side because modified launchers are often delivered unready.
Performance:
To roughly determine the performance of the Cubot Zorro 001 the Antutu Benchmark V5.5 was executed. The benchmark returned a score of roughly 20000 points. Therewith the Zorro joins the “typical” performance group of upper class budget phones. The 20K score is not a high-performance score, but according to own experiences should be way enough for the majority of daily used apps, also in (of course somewhere limited) parallel using).
Memory:
The Zorro has an 8 GB ROM. The division between internal and phone memory, as well as the percentage of actually usable memory looks like the following:
-Internal Memory: 1.94 GB (1.76 GB usable)
-Phone Memory: 4.20 GB (fully usable)
-Total: 6.14 GB (5.96 GB usable)
The phone does not support USB OTG. It has a microSD-Slot to extend its memory.
Camera:
To check camera sample pictures and an evaluation of them, please visit my blog post :
http://klonom.com/cubot-zorro-review/
Sensors:
The Cubot Zorro 001 has four sensors in total: Light, Accelleration, Proximity and Magnetic Field. All sensors have been tested and are functioning. The light sensor is remarkably fast and also the automatic brightness from Android works well – in contrast to many Mediatek SoCs based smartphones.
GPS:
The first GPS fix was done in about 20s out of the cold state, while the accuracy improved up to 3 m in the next minute. The GPS Test app showed a nice GPS receiption: From the 18 used satellites nearly all of them showed a good SNR ratio. The test navigation confirmed the first impressions: The Cubot Zorro can be used very well to navigate. The GPS locations nearly never drifted off the course and also the “after-drifting” is neglible small. All in all: Thumbs up!
Battery:
According to specifications the Zorro 001 has a battery with a capacity of 2200 mAh. This was confirmed with the help of an own measuring of the battery capacity, the Cubot Zorro really has a battery capacity of 2200 mAh. The battery life is over a day with “average” using.
WiFi Receiption:
No special attributes at the WiFi receiption could be noticed, neither positive or extraordinary positive ones. The WiFi receiption is stable and no connection losses were experienced. To compare the receiption with other phones, the signal strength was measured with two other devices (NO.1 Mi4 and eFox Value C6) at the same spot with the app WiFi Analyzer.
From left to right: Cubot Zorro 001, NO.1 Mi4, EFox Value C6
Misc:
The Cubot Zorro 001 has a notification LED which works out-of-the-box as a such. It supports the colors Green, Red and Orange/Yellow (Green and Red at the same time). Google Apps are preinstalled. The phone is delivered in a non-rooted state and until now (16. Jan ’15) there are none known possibilities to me to root it.
Review Video:
Conclusion:
All in all I am very convinced by the price to value ratio of the Cubot Zorro. It has a serious and not too playfull design and enough power to use it as an everyday phone. The phone has a nice build quality and seems valuable. The camera is average, although for the price passable. In total it is a recommandable LTE phone in the lower price class.
Nice review, I also got one and am very pleased with the phone so far. What you say, the quality is good for its price. If you didn't have enough from this review you can find my review at Chinese-smartphones.com
Nice review indeed. I have two questions
1. Do you have experienced pressure damage on the screen? I have 2 bright white spots on the screen mainly noticible on light backgrounds.
2. For some reason my sensors are not working anymore. Any sensor app won't find any sensors or indicates that sensors are not supported. Could this be a software issue (runnibg build 09/rooted) or could it be a hardware issue. Phone may have encountered a spill of water.
Besides that great phone with very good GPS (which is stil working).
Looking forward to your reply.

Sorry first of all for the belated answer. To your questions:
1. No, I did not experience any pressure damage on the screen yet. When did they appear?
2. I also did not experience or hear about that yet. To be honest, I think it could be both reasons (HW or SW). To exclude SW errors, I would do a factory reset, or maybe even flash a factory ROM from Cubot on it again to be sure. If the sensors still don't work then it will be most likely an HW issue.
And yes, the Zorro 001 has indeed a very decent GPS .
Need help.. please
Hey! I may have bricked my Cubot Zorro just by updating the firmware.. (I'm noob to all the geeky stuff). Can you help me here? Another member from this forum said that I need a "system dump from a working phone" to fix mine. Do you think you can help me with that?

I saw in your thread, that you were able to solve your problem. How could you fix it? It could be helpful to other people perhaps as well .
I'm not sure if this is but I think just a restart. It happend again and I just took the battery out and it booted. I wasn't at home to see if the partitions were magled like before. The cubot zorro 009 firmware is kinda buggy (or maybe just mine) cuz it randomly reboots. Well not really random. When I install some apps (especially root required apps). Managed to root it with cwm btw.
---------- Post added at 05:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:13 AM ----------
I decided to try and make it .. "block" it again (cuz it wasn't rlly bricked). It's just like before with 12 partitons and all of that. To anyone who has this problem just take out the battery and reboot. Sometimes it reboots 2 or more times over and over but it boots eventually. ReLLaY BUGGY.(To me found out that it happens EVERY time I update apps on google play. Very annoying.)
The UleFone Be X is probably one of the cheapest phones around with an Octa-core chipset. The phone looks good (in my opinion at least ) and the fact that it's just 4.5" inch is a big plus in my opinion! I just don't like all those 5" inch or bigger models. What do you think about it?
Specs:
- 4.5" inch qHD screen
- 1.4GHz Mediatek MT6852M
- 1GB RAM
- 8 megapixel camera
- 8GB storage
- 1900mAh battery

UleFone Be X
I'll buy one
Some days ago I discovered this device. I am thinking about buying one. Cheap, dual-sim, not big. The only handicap it has the 1GB memory. And the fear from the main camera's pics.
So I have to wait for the first test. In my opinion it could be a best buy.
Okokok

MIUI
If you want MIUI (stable & fixed version ROM) for Ulefone Be X. You can find it on 4PDA forum, MIUI v6 5.8.6, English Installation instructions included. Or on needrom an old version MIUI 5.7.23.
I have a dual SIM uleFone Be X. It's a great little cheap phone, and I've had no problems since I bought it last November.
The other day I noticed there was no signal for both SIM/networks.
At first I thought it was due to the weather, but then I noticed there was no signal in other areas as well.
I soon realized it basically doesn't connect to any network anymore.
So I have tried the following, but no success:
- Switching Airplane mode on/off
- Booting in safe mode
- Automatic search of network: "Cannot connect to this network at the moment. Try again later"
- Manual search of network: "Error while searching for networks"
- Reset APNs to default
- Turn off phone, remove battery, remove SIMs, wait, re-insert SIMs, turning back on
- Insert SIMs one by one while phone is on and on charge
- Preferred network (from the Phone Info menu) is set to WCDMA preferred
- Turn radio off and on again from system menu
Worth a note:
- IMEI numbers are recognised
- Tried with several SIM cards, in both slots, none works
- Same SIM cards work just fine in other phones
Any ideas? Faulty hardware? It literally happened from one day to another.
For what is worth, before the problem occurred I flew from one country to another. During the flight I had airplane mode on, but for a brief moment I switched it off to see if I could get any mobile and GPS signal and check my current position. Could the phone still be stuck at 10k feet in the air?
I think networks disappeared after the flight, but I am not 100% sure. Could have been before, or just after.
Hi!
I've couldn't find anything about Ulefone X, This threat is the closest I've found. I don't think is the same
My phone as arrived 5 days ago, yesterday as received an update to correct some stuff, and did.
But now, occasionally, there's a blank layer over the screen that make very difficult to see what's under that layer. It's not fully opaque but very annoying.
Does someone know how to prevent this?
Thank you.
Cubot has recently updated its smartphones very rapidly in order to keep pace with the latest tendency with other brands. Earlier days ago, i introduced Cubot X10 and Cubot X11 review in details, however, i brought this Cubot X12 the latest MTK6735 Quad core smartphone for your nice appreciation. Hope you can enjoy this Cubot X12, very competitive with other mtk6735 64bit mobile devices.

5inch QHD IPS screen
I am very pleased with 5inch display, because it's very normal and standard screen size for me to take or bring easily, i can hold it by one hand freely, 5inch laminated screen with IPS technology, which has better contrast under bright light due to 178 degree wide viewing angle. I am a little disappointed about its screen resolution, it has QHD screen resolution, not HD or FHD screen, maybe it's the main reason of the cheap cost. But it’s fine for me to enjoy the TV show.
MTK6735 Quad Core 1.0GHz
Cubot X12 has also kept pace with mtk chipset to announce its own first mtk6735 quad core 1.0Ghz smartphone 64bit to support 4G LTE network which can be used widely especially in Europe. Meanwhile, MTK6735 chipset will save more energy or power compared with the previous MTK6732 or MTK6582 chipset, 64bit processor speeds up the better and faster apps running. Therefore, i am quite satisfied with this latest processor. I play 3D games without any problem.
1GB Ram 8GB Rom
In terms of internal storage, Cubot X12 has less memory for me to store the files or apps. It comes with RAM 1GB ROM 8GB, but if i run the large games or open too many apps, it will be a little stuck. Therefore, I highly recommend you should use your smartphone right instead of opening some unnecessary programs at the same time, we are supposed to learn to turn off some apps that we don’t need. Of course, it can support extra TF card to expand the storage.
8.0MP Back Camera, 5.0MP Front Camera
Cubot X12 is not as outstanding as the last model, cubot X11 in its camera, it supports 8.0MP back camera and 5.0MP front camera, i think front camera is fine to support face beautification, and high definition pictures, but back camera seems a little weak for me, 8.0MP rear camera, i can take the pictures well in the day, but if i try at night, it didn't show well. I don't recommend shooting the pictures at night.
Various functions
Cubot X12 can support multilanguage, google play store, GPS, bluetooth, 4G LTE and so on same as other models, but Cubot X12 has made big progress in IR remote control function. I can set up IR remote control function, and connect with my electronic appliance like TV, air conditioner, electronic fans, etc. This function is very convenient and practical for me to control my appliance at home. Cubot X12 has 2,200mAh strong battery, which can be used one day normally. But if we use it without stop, i guess we need to charge again or a backup.
Therefore, Cubot X12 is a fine and cheap mtk6735 smartphone for me, now i use $8 coupon, coupon code: 8COUPON20150604 to help me save money to get this phone, and Cubot X12 has three colors, black , white, and golden. All in all, cubot x12 is exquisite but not simple !

Received spam from Bg with good price - $84.99 for Cubot X12
Good price?
remote control
Where can I find the Remote control app for this phone?
It doesn't seem to respond to voice commands unless you touch the microphone button. - anyone else have this issue? voice detection is on.
does this phone support "double tap to wake"?
Good phone.
Update ROM to R14
I have rooted the mobile via iroot and cannot update firmwares via OTA
I am trying to update the firmware with the procedure:
www_needrom_com/download/cubot-x12/
Unfortunately, when I'm plugging the mobile to my computers (x86 and x64) after removing the battery,
they recognize the mobile just for 1 or 2 seconds, has the mobile does into the image with the battery.
(I assume the download mode is stop).
Any solution for this?
Maybe the drivers are also not the right ones! Therefore the download mode is deactivated.
Could you share the right drivers for this mobile?
When the mobile is running normally, windows can access to it and I can explore it.
Many thanks in advance.

Just avoid to install what you don't want or delete afterwards!
Other solition is to install KingRoot.apk and try it from there!
Hello, I have buy one for my niece (14 years old), she is very happy with it.
I have buy it 80 euros, but now the price is more arround 90 euros, that still a good value for the money
This phone support all the european frequency for 2G, 3G and 4G. All is working well on it, and it looks good.
I have a Doogee Valencia 2 Y100 pro, same chip but 2Go/16Go and 720p 5" screen.
The only point than still for the Valencia 2 Y100 pro after testing the cubot X12, is the 16go rom on the Valencia.
I don't see any difference between the 2go ram and the 1go ram for daily use (phone, sms, mail, internet, light game, photo). And the cubot have IR sensor, good to replace all my ir remote control.
I'm 40 years old, I can't see any difference between 720p and qHD on a 5" screen. So for me it's an advantage to have "only" qHD, it's better for autonomy.
GPS is very accurate same as the Valencia 2 pro, and battery life is better on the cubot. Sound is ok, a litle bit better than on my Valencia 2 pro.
I'm very happy for the moment of this choice for my niece, let see if after few month it still ok. Cubot is not the worst Chinese brands, so it's should be ok

KingRoot will not root this device. there are currently 77 requests submitted to the developer for a solution.
For the record, I have no intention of infecting my PC with malicious trackers and trojans just to root a phone.
Will this work on the 4g of Straight talk/ATT network in Maryland USA?
hi, I've buy this phone now, they have custom rom port on this phone ?

Hi guys,
Sorry to bother you, not going to lie I know very little indeed about rooting and the like but I am keen to give it a go. I've had the Cubot X12 for around six months and skills love to give rooting a try. Has anyone had any success with this model? All I can find are a variety of instructions none of which sound very consistent.
Would really appreciate anyone with some experience offering a pointer or two
Thanks in advance
