Hello all,
I had a question. My wife dropped her AT&T LG G2 and the screen cracked. The screen is now unresponsive. Is there a way to retrieve the contacts on the phone? The phone is not rooted. Thanks.

Shooting in the dark here, but I think contacts are backed up on the Google account...aren't they? Every time I reflash my phone , i allow google to restore my account to my phone and it automatically restores contacts. You can even restore your contacts to somebody else's phone with your sim card in it, then save the contacts to your sim card, and then transfer them to any other phone. But that only works if you've synced your phone with Google of course.

Hi, my partners dad has a galaxy s3 where the screen remains black even though the phone is still receiving messages and calls, his work have now provided him with a new S5 and he wants to retrieve his contacts. The only thing is, he doesnt know what the gmail account is that he used, when setting up the phone he created one because he had to but has never used it since so we have no idea.
Is there any way at all of retrieving the contacts or finding out what gmail address is registered on the phone? Its a work phone so wont be rooted or have debugging and another obstacle is that he may have had a passcode lock on the phone.
Are there any software downloads out there or will KIES help at all? Im wondering if he may have a software update due and can run that through KIES which may hopefully fix the black screen somehow but thinking the passcode lock may stop us.
Really not sure what we can do, he has some contacts on there that he doesnt know and will not be able to get again.
my brother broke his phone and the screen looks black. i tried using the Dr. phone recovery but the model isnt being recognized.
so far the phone is in download mode.
any way to recovery his contacts and messages??
keep in mind his not a person to keep record of his gmail so i cant log in and recover the contacts
Something always smells off when phone owners don't know their own Google login
I need help with my wifes phone. She dropped it and cracked the LCD panel. The screen no longer turns on. It is a stock Pixel on Google Project Fi. Positive that USB debugging is not turned on.
I need to get her text messages off this phone so they can be restored to her replacement on that is being shipped. However, she used Google's Messenger app instead of Hangouts, so no automatic sync'ing to her Google Account.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get these texts messages off this phone? I know her phone still "works" since it rings and you hear notifications.....just can't see them since the screen is black.
Did she happen to have the phone backup to here Google Drive? Mine backs up my SMS.
Unfortunately, no. No auto backup to drive. Really hoping there is a way to enable USB debugging via ADB or something so that I can at lease use some recovery software. Right now I am SOL.
I've lost my phone recently and when I synced backup from google account I only got portion of my contacts which struck me hard :crying: . Soon I've found that my gear s2 has all the contacts in it, but I see no way to get them. Connecting to a new phone requires resetting the gear.
Is there any way to get the contacts without typing them all(almost2k)?
My next door neighbor is a sweet old lady who we occasionally invite over for dinner and take care of stuff for her (lawn mowing/weeding/spraying, etc....), and she has this LG Stylo 4 phone and her carrier is metro by t-mobile. Now I forgot exactly when this happened, but she had all of her contacts 86'd out of nowhere, and she claims that maybe her phone got hacked or something, I don't know
I fiddled enough with my phone and thought "maybe I can recover her contacts for her" since im the tech support for all modern hardware problems in my family (phone problems, computer problems and so on), but i'm hitting a roadblock on how I can get her contacts back without rooting her phone. I tried seeing if she had her contacts auto-backing up to whatever google service she was auto-set with, but none of her contacts were set to backup at all, and last time we ran into this problem was with my father, and by his words, it took about 6 months for his vanished contacts to magically re-appear somehow without his input
so, is there any non-root method available for me to get her contacts back, or will she have to re-add them one by one by memory?
so....I guess ill take the lack of any replies as there is no non-root method of restoring her contacts bar sending her phone to its respective manufacturer/dealer
kinda disappointed ngl
There's not much you can do unless she has a Google account linked to the phone or backed up her contacts with an app. As far as her contacts disappearing, it could be something as simple as settings, contacts settings, and view.. maybe she messed with the settings and accidentally clicked off of her phone for what contacts to view in settings. It has to be something simple because unless somebody's just trying to be an ass I don't see somebody hacking a little old lady's phone just to delete her contacts.
