I have someone in a chat in hangouts (via their email). How do I save that person to my contacts for further communication?
I can't seem to find any options other than asking them for their email and copy paste it into a new contact. There should be a way to do it directly in the app.

I remember seeing an app on here awhile ago that would allow you to send SMS messages to one of your contacts via email by just specifying their carrier. This would help me since I'm somewhat worried about going over my allowed number of SMS messages but have unlimited data.
Does anyone have a link to this app? I can't find it anymore.

i just noticed that when you want to copy/paste a contact info to another person to text from the contacts list it wont allow it.
-i can hit options on the persons name and a option pops up to share it but only by: bluetooth, email, gmail, and yahoo mail.
no text to option?
is there a way to get that option on there? or only have to wait for 2.3 gingerbread.

So I'm not sure if this is normal, but in my Hangouts app I have two separate conversations for each contact: one for SMS and the other for hangout messages.
Originally I had two different contacts in my contact list, but when I inputted both the email and the phone number it merged them into one. Now when I'm in a hangout conversation and I click on the person's name it gives me the option to hangout message them or SMS. When I choose SMS it automatically switches to a new SMS convo.
I have linked my Google+ contacts with my phone contacts. Is this the case for everyone? Thanks

Yep. This is normal. I was expecting an iMessage type interface as well.
There's been a lot of press about this and I wouldn't be surprised to see this changed in a new version.

I'm running stock CM11S (Verson 33R) on my OPO. Unrooted.
I notice these stranges behaviors:
When receiving e-mail from any contact in my contact-list, the mail-app (stock CM11S app) only shows the picture connected to this contact for one of the stored email-adresses in the conversation-list. When I open the mail to read it, the picture is shown correctly in the email-header.
With some e-mails, the picture is shown, but instead of the contacts name the mail adress is displayed, both in conversation list and in the e-mail view.
Additionally I can not find any way to manage contacts in the contact-app, meaning I can not move a contact from phone-storage to google account or vice versa. Am I to stupid or is this a bug?

Am i really the only person on this earth which is annoyed from the whatsapp entrys in contact app?
When i open the contact app and select a contact, there is always an entry whatsapp call and whatsapp message
I dont want it. Please help me to get rid of that crap. If i want to text or call a whatsapp contact i use the whatsapp app. :silly:
