Software version and Bootloader unlocking - Sony Xperia M2

Hi, first of all, i want to say sorry for my english if it is bad or if there is an error in my typing.
I have the 18.3.A.0.31 software version on my M2 D2305, wich is the 4.4.2 kitkat, and i wanted to unlock my bootloader, in the sony page for unlocking bootloaders it says that i must be on the 18.3.C.0.37 version of software. Does it mean that i cant use that method ? or my version is newer than the one on the page ?.
Another question is if i need or if it would be recomended by you guys , to download and flash with flashtools a .37 or .40 ftf . should i do it or should i wait to an OTA to come to my phone or unlock the bootloader succesfuly and be able to install cm11 or another rom ? .
Thanks anyway and greetings

In general terms, it means that you must've Android 4.4.2 KitKat version on your Xperia M2 device (regardless if it's a .31 version). Or at least, that's what I understand from SonyMobile website from Bootloader Unlocking.
Regards!

Do you have unlocked bootloader?
then issue is known,
read instruction on sony's bootloader unlock website:
"For customers that have unlocked the boot loader, please do not accept any over the air upgrades."
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
Best way is to flash latest version's ftf.

[Q] Flash 5.0.2 on D6603 (unlocked/flashed)

Hi,
i want to update my xperia z3 D6603 to the newest Lollipop 5.0.2 Update.
If I want to do this via PC Companion, but I got an error 2003 that it can't update my phone. I think this is happening because I unlocked the bootloader.
The currently installed version is 4.4.4 (23.0.1.A.5.77). This was installed from a service company, so I don't have any clue how to flash my device to the new lollipop 5.0.2.
Can you tell me what I need for the installation? Is there a complete tutorial for it?
I already downloaded flashtool and found the custom lollipop roms here. Do i just have to go into the flashmode, start the flashtool and flash the new image?
Looking forward to get some help from you
greetings

Yes, you're right. Just follow the on screen instructions of flashtool and you should be good to go

root z3 6633

Hi
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633)
Android Lollipop 6.0.1 Build 23.5.A.0.570 ( Original-Stock firmware )
Locked bootloader
I want to root it without flashing any new firmware, and without unlocking the bootloader
Just Rooting
If someone can make a video explaining, I'm using the translate BR .
thanks
For now, there is no known way to root this firmware w/o unlocking bootloader. Best way to obtain root is to downgrade to KK, get Root and recovery, and then flash pre-rooted MM firmware. Here is very good tutorial for that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056.
Also, I don't recommend to unlock the bootloader. bacause you'll get almoust only downsides.

You dont need to unlock your bootloader, just find a ftf and flash it with flashtool...there are many guides on the internet
Thanks for the info, can you provide me a link where I can find official Sony ftf files?
How secure is to use random ftf file from the internet? I use online banking on my phone, so I want to be sure that is secure.

There are no "official" ftf's...You can make one by using xperifirm (i doubt the kitkat files are still in the servers)
ftf in xda are trustworthy most of the time
Thanks, can you or someone else send me the theme where I can download the ftf file for my Xperia from xda?
Don't think there is any KK ftf's left on expirifirm Sony usually remove them pretty quickly. There's bound to be one on here somewhere. I think I've still got a pre-rooted KK zip somewhere for the D2303 lte, also I don't know who told you that you need to unlock your Bootloader to downgrade/use flashtool, you don't it'll work on totally stock unrooted devices. You must however wipe user data+cache+appslog when downgrading from lollipop to KK and when Updating from KK to lollipop via flashtool.

How to Downgrade XZs Dual to Nouget 7.1 ?

Hello . How can i Downgrade My Xperia XZs Dual 8.0 to Nouget 7.1 ? My device is new and Boot Loader Locked . I don't see FTF of Nouget here . I want to Downgrade becase the Battery is Worse in Oreo also with Heating Issue .
I've been looking for instructions on downgrading my f8131 and i can't find anything that helps. every time i try to flash with the flashtool i get some loader error.
I think it requires Unlocked bootloader
Try using flashtool to download the FTF. However, that may only contain the latest FTFs. You could check on xperiacheck for older FTFs.
You do not need an unlocked bootloader to do this.
Thank You for the response ! Appreciated !
Are you serious we don't need to unlocked the bootloader if we wanted to flash something?
