root z3 6633 - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633)
Android Lollipop 6.0.1 Build 23.5.A.0.570 ( Original-Stock firmware )
Locked bootloader
I want to root it without flashing any new firmware, and without unlocking the bootloader
Just Rooting
If someone can make a video explaining, I'm using the translate BR .
thanks

For now, there is no known way to root this firmware w/o unlocking bootloader. Best way to obtain root is to downgrade to KK, get Root and recovery, and then flash pre-rooted MM firmware. Here is very good tutorial for that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056.
Also, I don't recommend to unlock the bootloader. bacause you'll get almoust only downsides.

[Q] Sony Xperia Z3 root (lollipop)

Is there anyway I can root my sony xperia z3 (running lollipop) without unlocking the bootloader so I don't lose the drm functions? Or can I unlock the bootloader and then restore the drm functions? Someone help.
Downgrade to .77 , use giefroot, and install a prerooted firmware
Better explanation please?

Lollipop - Unlocking bootloader and rooting

Hi
I am on the newest firmware (5.1.1) and i want to unlock bootloader and then root my M2. So... Should i return to 4.3.3* (KK or JB) to unlock bootloader? After UBL i can use tutorial for root (i saw it here) or i have to make some other steps?
*i saw info that its better when we unlock bootloader on JB/KK because of partitions (???).

Help! Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) pre-rooted

Hi all
I have searched for a long time about rooting my device, but i found nothing
I have Sony Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) with android 5.1.1 build 23.4.A.1.232 and locked bootloader.
So, I need to root it or install a pre-rooted stock firmware without touching the bootloader.
Hi, you need to flash a kitkat rom with flashtool then root with giefroot. (I'm not sure about other rooting methods but this is the safest way IMO.)
After it got rooted, install a recovery so you can flash pre-rooted stock firmware or whatever you want. Remember to backup TA partition.
I had D6633 before and worked perfectly.
I have posted this before but you can go directly to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/guide-rootrecovery-how-to-root-install-t3017056

As far as I know, stock roms with stock kernel don't need bootloader to be unlocked. You need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash custom kernel and aosp stuffs.
tl;dr, if you are not gonna use custom kernel and aosp stuffs your bootloader can remain locked.
Ok, if you want to install moonbreakers, here's what I did when I first bought the device. I never unlock my bootloader.
1. Prepare the tools and root the device using Giefroot. and I recommend you to backup TA partition first just in case.
2.Install dual recovery.
3.Now that you have a working recovery you can flash any stock roms.
here's the guide by G-FACE.
if you want to unlock the bootloader remember to backup TA partition before you do it. If it's lost you can't get it back.

First of all, thanks for your help
Well i'm not professional, I only understand the rooting process.
But I have some questions:
1- can I make a ftf file as a backup from my exist firmware, so when I decide to reverse the whole process and return my device back to its original state, without losing anything?
2- What is the recovery, is that recovery has any disadvantage or negatively affect my device?
3- I didn't find a firmware 23.4.A.1.232 with the same customization version which is 1288-7361_R3C

Steps for unlock BL and root for 5.1.1

Hi
I want to unlock my bootloader and root my M2. So i should do that in this order?
1. Downgrade to 4.4.4 from 5.1.1
2. Unlock the bootloader
3. Update of bootloader (?)
4. Flash 5.1.1
5. Root 5.1.
Is that right or i should do something more or less?
You don't need to unlock the bootloader just for root. If your gonna downgrade to KK just flash a pre-rooted zip via recovery on rooted KK
But i want 5.1.1 with root so if i downgrade and root i will not be able to update to 5.1.1 (cause when you have root - you can make update and if you flash the newest firmware root will disappear).
I thought that downgrade is necessary for unlocking bootloader thats why i mentioned about downgrade.
I just want to have rooted 5.1.1 because i need to delete lot of garbages from the apps and other personalisations.
So flash a pre-rooted 5.1 zip via recovery on rooted KK(this is what I've done to get rooted 18.6.A.0.182 5.1on LB ). Or update to 18.6.A.0.182 then use the dodgy kingroot app to root then change kinguser to supersu. Unless you want to use cm or omni custom roms it's pointless unlocking the bootloader when root is available on locked bootloader
I think this thread about PhilZ recovery is perfect for me http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/development/d2303-philz-touch-recovery-6-t3047492
Thank you for help!
Yes it's a good working recovery. Used to use it myself

PLS HELP Rooting Xperia Z5 [LB]

Hey!
How can I root my Z5 which has a LOCKED BOOTLOADER. I don`t want to unlock the phone, did that with my Z2 and wasn`t worth it until the final Android Version has arrived.
Specs:
Z5 E6653
32.2.A.0.305 / R9C STOCK
Locked Bootloader
No Recovery
you only can get not full function root with LB, but you can use it to backup your TA.img, then you can unlock your BL, when you want drm back, you just restore them
