So I've been experiencing a weird bug on my Z3: it won't enter deep sleep when mobile data is on, even with synching off :crying: it's driving me crazy! It enters deep sleep normally when on wifi. What should I do?

What is "deep sleep", and how are you determining that it's not doing it?

The term deep sleep just means your phone isn't awake so it's using the littlest amount of battery to stay running. It wakes up to sync an email or if it receives a text.

Syncing isn't the only thing which will cause your phone do perform work. It'll be checking for messages from facebook, perhaps, or other services.
Perhaps you need to explore Stamina mode(s), perhaps whitelisting any apps you want to run during sleep.

Try stamina mode maybe. Mine shows no wakes when that's on unless I wake the screen.
I'm also getting this weird android os drain

Hi, I'm having a serious issue here. I unplugged my Transformer from my charger about about 11am today. I have used it, according to the screen on time in the settings, for 34 minutes. (it's now about twelve hours later.) However, the battery life is at 64%. I just don't understand this. My wi-fi is set to disconnect when screen turns off, and brightness is at about 55-60%. But look at this.

Does anybody have a clue what could be going on? If you need more information about what state it is in, I'll be glad to provide more details. It seems like this started after I updated to 3.2, but that could be unrelated.
After updating did you set up the wifi power saving again? There is a bug in android where this setting gets reset when the device is rebooted

Yeah, I double checked when I posted this and it was still on "when screen turns off".
Try using juice defender. And check your running services/applications/auto sync cuz i see there alot of wifi actifity and your device is awaken even though the screen is off.
You could try using an app called Sysem Panel by NextApp.
You will need the paid version so that you can turn on the Monitoring option in the settings - this allows you to monitor the CPU usage over 2h/8h/1d/3d.
You can also monitor Top App usage of CPU which is fantastic for identifying the culprit.
yesterday I got a slow phone when my battery was blow 10%. Is this a feature of Android that it work slower for saving the battery?
My unlock swipe code was very slow and I rebooted my phone and after that anything work just fine.
How can I solve this if the problem coms angain???

Don't let your battery get below 10%?
The system is designed so that when the battery gets too low it turns off a lot of stuff so that the device will last for longer to do what it was actually made for - be a phone.

Indeed often the cpu is slowed down to which would cause lag.
But yes the best thing to stop it would be to keep your phone charged

Below is the screenshot of my battery usage. I disabled cell radio and WiFi at 12 midnight until 6am. As you can see radio is off (see the gap) but my WiFi has no gap. I can assure you the WiFi is disabled. I don't see the WiFi icon during those time. FYI since I got the phone last January I really don't disable my WiFi even if not in use. Is this a bug?

In Wi-Fi advanced settings make sure "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep is not set to always (Default)
Thanks man. What does "only when plugged in" mean. So even if I set it to always, it does not consume battery? Because I can see that I improve battery after disabling radios. Like I save 8% of battery.

1. always on even in sleep
2. only on in sleep if phone is being charged
3. never on in sleep
Why does the never, increases the data usage? If its never On in sleep. Haha. I'm sorry I'm so dumb haha.
So last night, I turned off WiFi and location, and Google plus had a freaking 10 hour wakelock (didn't take much battery, we have a nice soc, didn't notice actually)
Why would that happen?

The weird thing is that it didn't actually affect battery life, it is just weird... (good cpu not using any battery when at lowest frequency and screen off)
I'm running stock retailEU xt1032 on Asian xt1033 dual sim (Romania), bootloader locked, not rooted, nothing. I don't even use G+...
Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk
Android os and Android system also have weird wakelocks... I don't have root, so I can't get to the root of the problem (pun not intended) because of Google's restrictions on kitkat...
G+ photo auto backup is disabled.

Perhaps Auto-Sync or Google+ notifications might be issue.
I've disabled notifications of apps those I don't use and really my battery life is amazing!

Yeah, maybe, but wifi and data were off... Gingerbread did a good job going to sleep when they were off, now it doesn't seem like it... (maybe trying to sell my data over no connection? Who knows...)
Connected to wifi, played Tsum tsum for 15mins, SOT 30 mins
adaptive brightness was on
screen brightness was similar to 40% when adaptive brightness is off,
location was off, wifi scanning off
I was not expecting that kind of battery drop when screen on
I'm also noticing that the phone isn't deep sleeping sometimes
Thanks for helping!!

Sounds about the same as mine - around 4 hours SOT and I usually get about 24 hours total from the phone. Also stays awake for seeming no reason. My Z3 was way better in this regard.

Is there any "benchmark" or normal battery usage for this?
Somehow I seem to get rid of the awake issue but don't know if it really helps
i turned off Settings-->security-->trusted agents-->smart lock
And turned off all apps with usage access except stamina mode and greenify
Also turned off location when not used
