Weird battery life - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So last night, I turned off WiFi and location, and Google plus had a freaking 10 hour wakelock (didn't take much battery, we have a nice soc, didn't notice actually)
Why would that happen?

The weird thing is that it didn't actually affect battery life, it is just weird... (good cpu not using any battery when at lowest frequency and screen off)
I'm running stock retailEU xt1032 on Asian xt1033 dual sim (Romania), bootloader locked, not rooted, nothing. I don't even use G+...

Android os and Android system also have weird wakelocks... I don't have root, so I can't get to the root of the problem (pun not intended) because of Google's restrictions on kitkat...
G+ photo auto backup is disabled.

Perhaps Auto-Sync or Google+ notifications might be issue.
I've disabled notifications of apps those I don't use and really my battery life is amazing!

Yeah, maybe, but wifi and data were off... Gingerbread did a good job going to sleep when they were off, now it doesn't seem like it... (maybe trying to sell my data over no connection? Who knows...)

One your battery may not be calibrated correctly. And if your wifi is causing such a drain turn it off when you are not using it.
I am on axura. Not having same issue. It could be apps you have installed

odd do yu think the wifi is causing a wake lock or something
I am not sure but I believe you can change your wifi settings to turn off faster when phone us sleeping

that just makes the 3g go on though
What i do is install One click lag fix utility and just use it's wifi timeout changer, works great
I'm having the same issue. Which RC are you using? I'm using the newest RC 2.2. I posted in the Axura support thread, so I hope to hear back soon

[Q] I need help with my tablet draining battery too quickly

Hi, I'm having a serious issue here. I unplugged my Transformer from my charger about about 11am today. I have used it, according to the screen on time in the settings, for 34 minutes. (it's now about twelve hours later.) However, the battery life is at 64%. I just don't understand this. My wi-fi is set to disconnect when screen turns off, and brightness is at about 55-60%. But look at this.

Does anybody have a clue what could be going on? If you need more information about what state it is in, I'll be glad to provide more details. It seems like this started after I updated to 3.2, but that could be unrelated.
After updating did you set up the wifi power saving again? There is a bug in android where this setting gets reset when the device is rebooted

Yeah, I double checked when I posted this and it was still on "when screen turns off".
Try using juice defender. And check your running services/applications/auto sync cuz i see there alot of wifi actifity and your device is awaken even though the screen is off.
You could try using an app called Sysem Panel by NextApp.
You will need the paid version so that you can turn on the Monitoring option in the settings - this allows you to monitor the CPU usage over 2h/8h/1d/3d.
You can also monitor Top App usage of CPU which is fantastic for identifying the culprit.

How can you solve it?
Don't let your battery get below 10%?
The system is designed so that when the battery gets too low it turns off a lot of stuff so that the device will last for longer to do what it was actually made for - be a phone.

Indeed often the cpu is slowed down to which would cause lag.
But yes the best thing to stop it would be to keep your phone charged

Battery, WTF is going on here?

Can anyone point me in the direction of how to track this battery drain down?
Stock Rom, double tap, flashlight, camera, and music gestures off.

Interesting. I'd like to know as well.
One of your apps is preventing your phone from deep sleeping. As you can see in the screenshots, Keep awake: 3h 39m 13s
Which app is it? Don't know. You'll need to root your phone and then download one of the following apps: Wakelock Detector, BetterBatteryStats, Gsam to find out which app is preventing your phone from deep sleeping.
Cool thanks I do that tonight. A reboot fixes it every time. Seems to happen first thing every morning. I rebooted right after my first post, here is my stats now.

My money is on Google Play Services. Check the fix in my signature.

Man, look at how many times some of this has been used.
I disabled just keep awake function. I guess I'll find out tomorrow if that fixed it or not.

Wifi/Android System/ Android OS problems.

Hi, I need help on this. It has been days since my battery has gone haywire and I don't know what happened. I just saw that my WIFI isn't turning off even though i toggled itoff in settings/quick settings. I thought maybe a simple reboot may fix it but no. I came from CO12 to Exodus to Bliss but all have the same problems. Wifi isn't turning off! All my settings are stock. Kernels are stock also. I'm getting an average battery life of 3 1/2 hrs SOT which is awful for my usage. Also AndroidSystem and OS is killing my battery but I disabled Google PlayServices which should help. My only concern is the Wifi not turning off. Pls help thanks

Hi.
I use this app wich does only cut on and off the network: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.aDataOnOff&hl=en
(you can also apply a screen filter to help stop battery drain)
But I doubt its your only problem... I tested with and without the app, and the difference is almost not visible. Also, my wifi (when app off) is in third place on battery usage, and I have at least a good 5-6 SOT..

Some people say that it is a common bug in Android 5.0. Can anyone confirm?

The known bug with wifi is not battery drain but the difficulty to connect, to link the network.
