Hello guys I have a little problem with Google Maps and 1+1.
Today I want to use it and I get the message "Unfortunately, Maps has stopped" I try to uninstall updates, uninstall updates and update again, clear cache and data, force stop and nothing works. I don´t know what I should do, Maps is very useful for me.
My device is BL unlocked and rooted with Cyanogen 11S stock version XNPH38R. If you need to know any other data, tell me. Thanks in advance.

use Nokia Here or do a factory reset. Strange that its the only app that gives you trouble.
really strange...
you may try disabling and reenabling location services through google settings app.. maybe it helps... there's some kind of corrupt data within the google services causing your problem...

Thanks for your fast answers guys!!!
I try what you said Aavion and Maps is still broken... :S
Relayers, what is Nokia Here? Is an app? If it is I can´t find it on Google Play. Also do a factory reset makes me tremble....
I´m thinking on do a backup of my current Maps app, delete it and download ir from scratch. What do you think about that?
Thanks in advance again.
Ok, I did the backup of maps, delete it and download it from Google Play, I have the same issue. Idk what I must do to fix that. I need to avoid a factory reset if possible.
Go to the Samsung site and see if they have Nokia Here in their app store. You can also do a "nokia here for galaxy" search.

okay... it seems like a factory reset is the only thing that helps with google maps... but first you may sideload the newest maps update and see how it goes, or use an alternate maps app like nokia here

Thanks for all your help. Now I´m also having the same issue than with maps with a game and other app that I usually use.
I have my 1+1 rooted with unlocked BL, How should I do a factory reset? I need to lock BL first? I´m a bit confused on how to proceed to make a factory reset because I don´t want to brick my phone. Thanks in advance.
EDIT.: And if I do a factory reset I lost the content of my storage like music and photos?
Just a little bump, can I do a factory reset without troubles with unlocked BL and root? If I do I lost root? And also do you recommend me to backup and restore my apps or I should do a fresh install of all of it? Thanks in advance guys!!!

Somehow I've managed to completely delete the google store app off my sony niro, with ICS. This means that i cant upgrade or install any apps from that site! Vodafone, my provider, have suggested that I back everything up and then do a factory reset which will nuke everything on the phone and leaving me to re-install everything afterwards. Ouch!
Can anyone suggest how i can get it back without doing the factory reset please? I cant install their 'PC Companion' software to do it with as I'm using Debian 7.
Thanks
Sharon.
Are you rooted with a custom recovery? Do you have a copy in Titanium Backup?
If not, rooting and either flashing it or pushing it somehow might work. I'm thinking like how you'd flash GAPPs normally with a new ROM.
I'm not sure about specifics for your phone, though.

If your rooted you can use this patched version, it works great for me.

Right, new google store app downloaded and installed, rebooted, cleared cache and all stored data and run it. It shows that i have 12+ updates to get, so i start downloading them and it crashes! Just says that 'google store has stopped'! Try again and the same thing happens, so I'll let it fully charge and take it off the charge cord and try again.
But its looking hopeful, thanks.
Sharon.
Full charge now done so I've had a chance to play with it. With all cache and data deleted, it still crashes before you get the little checkbox asking you to agree to googles term and conditions. It doesn't show in 'titanium backup' under 'google store' or 'play store', and neither does it show in 'ROM Toolbox Pro' of downloaded apps, installed apps, or backupped apps. Its as if it doesn't exist!
I'm now at a loss as to what to do next, any ideas please?
Hopefully thanks
Sharon.
If you are on a custom ROM, you could try flashing the applicable Gapps package, as stated above....if not then I'm thinking the factory reset would be next step, as much as a pain that it is.
Just backup and reset

try and uninstall it and re-install if you are able.. something could have gotten screwy ... also.. a lot of the google apps tend to sometimes have issues after updates.. you could just try and uinstall the most recent update and see if it still occurs..

I cannot uninstall the app. there is no such option. i uninstalled update and this error message shows up non-stop.
keep having the problem the entire day. what can I do? thanks
I uninstalled updates and the error shows up like craxy. Then, I went to playstore to reinstall update. Still get the error shown on the topic. Is there anything that I could do besides a factory reset?

are you rooted?if you are, you can use Titanium Backup to uninstall the app (think you might have to buy the pro if you dont have in order to mess with system apps, but if you dont own and are rooted, 1 of the few apps very worth buying).
if you do this, then you can go and reinstall from playstore as a fresh install..
if those don't work, then factory reset/odin back to stock may be needed..
also, if rooted you could try using a rom and flash that as an option..
My device is not rooted. Is there a way to solve the problem without rooting?
Only other thing I'd try prior to a factory reset would be to remove your google account information and then add it back in (settings - general - accounts). This may reset GAPPS (google apps) to the point where maps works again.
Did you by any chance delete or deactivate several Google processes? Like Google Services?
Hey Folks!
You're literally my last hope! I've made a mistake - a huge one.
Long story:
My keyboard kept disappearing so I thought "Hey, if I uninstall the Play services update, it should run smoother!" Well, it did. And then all the trouble began. I couldn't use most of my Google apps anymore, so I convinced myself to update to version 7.0, again. But hello! Error "-501" was and still is in the way! So I searched Google for an answer, but nothing helpful. I tried installing a downloaded apk, but it wouldn't install it. *Sigh*
Short story:
I uninstalled the Play Services app to version 6.7, but the Google Apps didn't think of that as funny... So I tried installing it again, but it didn't work. I deleted the cache of almost every Google related app, plus the data, but nothing was helping. Error "-501" just keeps popping up!
I'd like not to do a factory reset or root my phone. If there's a more convenient way, please tell me.
Regards,
Jeffrey
You'll likely have to factory reset.
What Android version are you on, and what modifications do you have (if applicable)?

Hi.
I am planning to install Google services on my new P40 pro.
But I am thinking what if I didn't like it or I found it unstable?
Is resetting my phone to factory settings will be OK? So I can return to the point where I am at now? Or is this Google installation process irreversible?
Thanks in advance

No reason you can't factory reset, which will wipe all Google services etc off and give you a 'new' phone again
