straight talk 4g - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my phone 1 week ago, and im loving it[emoji7] . Im trying to figure out why im not connecting to straight talks 4g network, which runs off of AT&T's towers..
Does anybody have straight talk and can confirm that they are getting 4g?

Have you checked your APN settings?

Yeh ive dun been there with them one the phone. Apn settings r good. I got hspa+ which i think they got me throttled on, but no 4g.. They tryed to tell me its the area, but my Friend who has at&t gets 4g at my house.. I spend alot of time in baltimore, and i know the area down there has 4g.. I think they r full of s*** and got me blocked or something..

verizon dns on Fuze?

Okay.. I know this sounds insane but check out the screen cap.
I got my Fuze on Tuesday but I have been super busy with work. I started really playing around tonight, but have not done any ROMs etc. I was mucking around with speed tests on Opera after reading some the HSDPA issue threads here and I am not sure what I did but I go this screen
As far as I know vzw means Verizon Wireless... any thoughts... I checked the settings and as far as I can tell it is all AT&T
THats prettty cool it its vzw btw um outa area data roaming?
I rly doubt this but a partner ship w/ vzw and att in that area or att is payn them to use that tower in a specifc area.
What speeds did you get btw?
Verizon operates on a diff band right if im not forgeting. So it could be what i just said.
Sprint's Touch Pro can...
But the Fuze can't roam on Verizon. (at least not at the tower level).
My guesses:
1) The IP was previously reported as a verizon IP and it got lumped into that
2) The tower routed the traffic onto a verizon network after the signal hit the tower

I am in Washington DC so not roaming... now I am seeing some weirdness where it will not connect to data. I was getting this yesterday as well.
By the way... what is ims.cingular? I know wap.cingular and isp.cingular, but this is a new one by me.

[Q] LTE not working on grandfathered ALLTEL plan

I currently have an unlimited data plan called Connect Pack 1 from my Alltel plan that transitioned over onto the Aria that I was given as a replacement for the Moto Q that I was using.
Anyway, when I got the Skyrocket, they tried to make me transition to an ATT data plan, but I wouldn't go for it. I bought the phone outright, expecting to at least get the 3g working, but they said they couldn't.
I used the apn settings from the aria, and I do get 4G but for whatever reason, the
LTE icon isn't showing up in the notification area. I live in Houston, and we are supposedly one of the area's with it.
The settings I used are the wap.cingular settings that I see are listed elsewhere on here. Is there something additional I need to do to get the LTE to work.
Will the phone look like an Aria to ATT or am I going to be getting a notice to upgrade my account shortly?
Thanks
You need an LTE sim and the LTE plan to be able to access the new network. Maybe see if they can change your sim and plan?
Thanks for the prompt reply
I don't want to change the plan. Right now my data plan is cheap, and I want to keep it that way.
If I get a new sim, is there a chance that the LTE will work using the settings listed on wap.cingular? If it does work, how long before you think I would start getting some notices about it from ATT?
I live in Houston too.. and I have unlimited data.. I do get the lte icon beneath the 4G.. but it looses signal when left alone for a while.(sleep). And I have a regular hspa sim card.. I will go to att today and see what I can find out...

hope you hear something positive. The Cingular settings give me stable 4G which is actually better than I expected after my discussion with the att store about getting the phone. All they seemed to be interested in was getting me to sign an att 2year contract (haven't been under contract for years) and transition to a limited data plan. Not what I wanted so I just bought the phone off craigslist and entered the apn settings myself.
All I am truly worried about is if they update the data plan themselves if they notice the 4G phone on a 3G plan. I'm hoping since my original phone and the skyrocket are both android it won't raise any flags. I would love LTE but I am pretty happy with hspa+ for now.

I also am a former alltel customer and was moved to an aria. It recently broke and I got a skyrocket whick is great, but I live in Carlsbad NM and don't get lte anyway. So today I'm going to return the skyrocket and switch back to my alltel plan(at&t already said they could dueto buyers remorse). The guys at the local at&t here gave me the same crap about the skyrocket being unusable, which as we all know is bull. I have a galaxy s II gt-I9100 internationalversion on the way. I will also try my apn settings from my aria. Thanks to everyone who actually assists people unlike corporate customer care.

LTE uses the new pta APN.
Runs through proxy.mobile.att.net

Living hell trying to get ATT to give my gnex a 4g data plan.

I have been on the phone about 10 times and already visited the store once trying to get ATT to give me a 4g data plan for my galaxy nexus. I am currently getting awful speeds around half a meg a sec to 1mb/s. What is the correct APN? i only see the cingular 410 APN and If I make a new one it just automatically switches back. Now all they tell me is that they dont support unlocked devices and try to send me to samsung tech support. This is extremely frustrating.

GET 3g Speed on Galaxy plus with gophone.

Using my galaxy tab plus as a phone. Problem is I can make and receive calls but my data is only edge. I know I can get 3g data in this area because my cellphone gets it, but It is messed up right now. Anyone know apn settings etc. to get it working? Btw on gophone unlimited plan if that matters.

Uhmmmm.. im in the same boat as you.. im using may gtab 7+ as my phone and it's great.. but not when answering calls.. if you know what i mean..
going back to your question.. edge is slow when its comes to internet connection.. here in the philippines.. my signal is 3g or H or H+..
i think it is really dependent on your area.. try to observe the signal when you go to other places..
best of luck..

Help, Simple mobile 4g not working

Ive called the customer service line many times and they cant even understand me let alone help me Ive been a SM customer for a while and have had no issues I recently switched from unlimited 3g to unlimited 4g and i havent noticed a speed upgrade and ive have speedtests confirm that. Is there something I can do in the APN settings?
Im on GO v5 But the rom didnt effect it as ive gone from stock to GO v2 to GO v5 all on 3g. Thanks for any help.
4G LTE is available only in Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Jose, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C: http://t-mobile-coverage.t-mobile.com/ Did you check the T-Mo coverage map: http://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/pcc.aspx/.

First, what speeds are you getting?
Second, changing APNs almost certainly will do absolutely nothing to change your data speeds.
Third, the SK4G doesn't have LTE. It has HSPA 21 as its theoretical max. The best I've ever gotten on it is about 14Mbps on the download.
Is LTE the only 4g option they carry? I just wanted plain 4g not 4g LTE. My speeds are around 250kbps. Very slow. Upload is around 1mpbs.
Also I just checked and I am well within the 4g coverage area of tmobile. I live north of miami

They probably set maximum speeds based on your plan more than anything else. That being said, 250Kbps is a concern if your upload is 1Mbps. I'd call and complain. I know they weren't terribly helpful, but ask for a supervisor if you need to. You may get someone who speaks better English.

Thanks is that even 3g speed? There is nothing I can do on my end other than call?
That is crazy slow and I would for sure ***** to them, your getting edge speed, like when fake internet first showed up on nokias 10 years ago. Don't settle for less than 3mbs, anything less and they are ripping you off
