My wifes T-Mobile Z3 will randomly just stop loading pages on WiFi. The only way to fix it is to turn WiFi off, and then back on. This seems to happen on multiple WiFi networks.
My HTC m8 used to do that. I had to turn off wifi optimization under the wifi advanced settings and that fixed it.

Anyone else seeing this?
When connecting to my linksys wireless N router, wifi will work for about 5 mins then nothing will respond even though the indicator shows a connection.
I have to turn wifi off and on again real fast and it auto reconnects and works for another 5 mins or so.
Anyone experiencing this? I had a similar issue with my Iphone 3gs that dissapeared in later firmware updates
I belive there is a thread on this allready were some has that issue. It was after changing ur setting.db to allow none market apps

Does your phone go into sleep? There is a setting in the advanced menu that drops wifi after the screen goes into sleep. You can change the wifi to never sleep
Is your subnet mask on the AP set to something other than 255.255.255.0? See other threads on the page for details. There is a driver issue with WiFi.
I have an Atrix 2. It has been replaced twice by AT&T due to this problem. I have factory reset each phone and tried every battery mode, data saver, sleep policy and wifi channel.
The problem:
The wifi turns off by itself! not sleep, off! As in the checked box is unchecked. The phone does it during use and when not being used. The timing between instances is random. The wifi sometimes stays on for hours. Other times it wont last five minutes. I have 4 other wifi devices connected by wifi to my secured router.
Note: I travel across the country for work and the problem occurs at airports, hotels, mcdonalds, ect.
I have called Motorola and their only option is to send it to the with no replacement. I could use some help. I have been searching online and others with this problem dont persist, they simply state that unsecuring their router fixed the problem. That is not an option for me as the routers are not mine.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I recently noticed this problem started after I installed the ATT Smart Wi-FI app. Mine will connect then turn off, wait a second turn back on then I get the WIFI networks avail message and I check it and it's not connecting to the network til I tell it too then it will stay connected all day.
I"ve had my atrix 2 for about a little over a month. It's doing the same thing. Wifi will randomly shut off. I have to go into the settings to turn it back on. It will work fine for a little while then just shuts off again. Does anyone know if this seems to be hardware or software related. I've tried different apps and WiFi sleep settings to no avail. I really like the atrix but this is kind of annoying.
I have the same issue also, except I have top reboot my phone for wifi to work again.

i have the same problem, it's not my wifi connection, but the actual wifi setting turns off whenever i turn off my screen and yes, i've set the wifi sleep policy to "never", so that's not the problem. i've also tried "never when plugged in" and "when screen turns off" and i still get the same problem. i was thinking about going to at&t and asking them about it but decided to come here first.
(a white iphone 4 is looking better and better ) can anyone help?
I had this problem but after I disabled the power saver option under battery and data (set it back to performance) it went away and Wi-Fi works perfect.
Tried different battery saver settings as well, nothing changed.

It's the first time this has happened, but for some reason I can't connect to wifi networks.
Every time I try to it connects to the network for 1 or 2 seconds and then it gets disabled.
I'm on stock rom.
The only thing that has fixed this is rebooting but eventually it will happen again.
Any ideas?

I'm getting similar behaviour on a wifi only GT-P6810 (Galaxy tab 7.7,bought on honeycomb & upgraded to ics). Worked fine at home & fails on holiday. Worked a few times now doesn't pretend to connect, doesn't even show the network unless I turn wifi off & on. Also, when I first switch to wifi settings it bounces off & on a few times without my touching it!
I wanted to know if i can make wifi turn off with out coming back on by it self i hate that and have turned off everthing that automatically turns on yet it tryst to turn on over and over again does it the most when I'm using my .mobile hotspot and will actually turn off my hotspot
When I turn off wifi it stays off.
Hmm my wifes note 5 does it to
I just turned off some settings WiFi advanced menu. ..going to see if that helps.

Turn off your connection optimizer in settings

I now have everything turned off now it only seems tobe happing when hotapot is active it tells me that activating wifi will disconnect hotspot then it says cencel of turn on wifi if I hit cencel it will pop back up quick if I do nothing it just sit there untill screen blacks out then turns on wifi by its self and kicks me off hotspot really making me mad
My Sprint Note 5 does the same thing. When using the hotspot, it keeps displaying the "Turning on WiFi will disable hotspot notification. As soon as I return home and the Note 5 sees my home WiFi network is automatically connects and kills the hotspot. Even though I haven't responded to the notification.
If I'm not using the hotspot, then it never automatically turns WiFi back on when returning home.
I have set location services to use GPS only, set Smart network to off. Yet, when using hotspot, it keeps trying to turn WiFi back on.
Same here :/
I wonder why can we get a dev insight on this
That is connection optimizer at work which switches when you get home it looks for the best signal..... turn it off in settings.

Thats wierd i have no issues with wifi and hotspot turning off.....
I can say I have the same problem. I'm on sprint, not rooted but used the MSL code to open hotspot. Me and the Wife both have note 5's both with the same problem.
I also have connections optimizer and all settings I know of keeping wifi off.
Only does it when hotspot is on.
I have just bought the 6gb 128GB version in grey and am really liking it apart from one issue I cannot seem to resolve. When the phone is in standby mode it turns the wifi off. I have no battery optimization apps running, and I have wifi scanning enabled when the phone is in standby.
Does anyone know what can be causing this? It is starting to become very frustrating when I am streaming from Sonos and it cuts out after 3 minutes. I am on 7.1.1 and the phone is unrooted. I have searched but cannot find anything apparent. I have also cleaned the phones cache in recovery, didn't help.
I think I also have this issue. I've set my phone to do some backups to my drobo while I sleep but they never seem to finish. I didn't have this issue on my Galaxy S7.
Did a system restore in recovery. Seems to have sorted it. Must have been some bogus app I installed.
Go to settings - wifi - wifi settings and change keep wifi on while sleep to always
