I have been using a rom from the Razr M on my Razr HD. Its a stock 4.4 rom by user Q9Nap. Its been modded to look like a google experience rom and has all the bloatware removed. Its a format of a FXZ. I quite like it, since there isn't any similar roms on the Razr HD. I thought I would try to port it over to the Razr HD. I have limited experience creating flashable zips. So I tried to fastboot flash the system image over to my Razr HD and it worked fine except for having to wipe my data and editing the build prop. I decided I would figure out how to make it into a flashable zip in twrp but after getting kitchen up and running on my machine and even doing it manually. I can't for the life of me get it to flash. The updater script keeps giving me an error. I tried using other updater scripts to just flash the system folder and tried writing it myself but no luck. Giving up until I can find what I am doing wrong. I ve already spent the day looking over tutorials and other sites but not getting anywhere. Anyone have any helpful tips?

As you can see from the title of this thread, I am having problems installing ROMs on my rooted Droid 2. No matter which one I try to install (gummyjar, liberty, etc.), after I boot into recovery and follow the instructions for installing the ROMs, they don't; everything on my phone always looks the same as before. What might be the problem?
As a side note, Webroot, one of my mobile security apps, seems to quarantine the zip files a day or two after I download them. Might Webroot be the problem? Should I uninstall it and try installling these ROMs after doing that?
You might want to post in Droid 2 forums. This here is for droid 2 global. Different phone.

Hello
I just got a Kindle Fire 6.3.1 from a friend in America (i'm in Australia). After I realised that I can't really use the Kindle Fire here I started researching how to change it to a Android.
FYI - I'm not at all computer savvy
So... I managed to root it and installed superuser. I also managed to find the jelly bean file and google app files and uploaded it to my Kindle. I then managed to get into team win - did a back up, wiped the cache and delvik cache but when I went to install and then flash the zips it always says error can't flash.
I also allowed other apps in the kindle settings.
I don't know what to do or what i'm doing wrong. I've spent about 2 days trying to do this and I'm starting to think that maybe I just don't have the magic computer touch.
I would really really appreciate any help.
thank you
P.S I have a MAC
Might I suggest rooting it and posting this in the Kindle Fire thread.
I would suggest taking a look at the Jelly Bean Roms.
Hello all. I am new to this site but have been with android for a while. I just flashed KatKiss 4.3.1_027 to my TF101 and it's running great. I have noticed a few bugs and am not sure if that's just me or the ROM. My quick toggles/tiles do not work. The button shows up but then disappears and I can no longer access it. I also had it freeze in multi window before, took two restarts for it to come back. Other than that this ROM is awesome. I kept flashing a bunch of different ones today and this is by far the best one.
Does anyone know if there's a way to get apks from the ASUS stock software? I really liked that task manager widget that was on there. I also made an app backup using the built in app. I got an apk for that but it was unable to install. Bad apk or just unable? Anyway to convert the .abu file to any other rom? I would hate to flash to stock, restore and then make a different backup to flash back to KatKiss. Thanks for the help guys, this site is awesome.

You will find that a lot of the Asus stock firmware .apk's do not work with ASOP based ROM's and other non ICS ROM's. The apk's are also customised to be installed as system apps thus conflict with other apps. I made a backup of some of my ASUS stock apk's using MyPhoneExplorer (google it, good app for doing data backups) but most will not install on this ROM.
Tks
As the title states I'm unlocked & rooted, but have a few questions before I start making changes to the phone.
1. Is there any advantage to using CWM as opposed to the stock recovery? The reason I ask is that the recovery is what caused me hours of trouble upgrading to KitKat. It just would not verify that I had the correct one even after flashing stock back. Is there any real disadvantage to flashing CWM to backup & recover as needed but keeping the stock recovery in other words? Or is there a way to save & flash my stock recovery back later if needed (CWM says that it is irreversible)?
2. Does anyone know a good ad blocker & how to get it running right? I used to use ROM Tool Box & never upgraded it when Google pulled that feature but apparently they shut it down as I still have the option but it won't work.
3. Anyone have a good list of apps that can be frozen/disabled in KitKat?
4. What font do you like? Been using the original Droid font for years but kinda thinking it might be time to switch it up.
Thanks for any advice and opinions you can offer!
It is greatly appreciated!

1. Being able to make backups is the big advantage. Stock recovery is basically useless aside from OTA upgrades.
2. AdAway is what I use. It's open source and you can find it in the F-Droid repository at f-droid.org
3. I'm still on CM so I'll let someone else answer this.
4. I never bothered changing fonts either.
Hi, I have a big issue installing all but one build of the PAC-Man ROM not installing on my Droid Razr Maxx HD. I've tried installing multiple nightly & Dev builds of them ROM but they all boot loop at the Motorola logo. No one seems to care about this issue either. I've posted on almost all social media the Pac-Man ROM community has bit it seems to not be getting any attention. (Excuse me for getting a little off track) I always do a factory reset with twrp twice before attempting to install this ROM, I've also tried repairing the data partition (which is this fix found on Droidrzr forum) I've tried flashing back to stock KitKat, I would try side loading a build but twrp's side load feature doesn't work. Could some one guide me to sending a Dev a boot log so whatever bug is causing this is squashed? I really want to run this ROM. Or, could someone who has had this ROM installed guide on getting it up and running?

These are all the builds I've tried installing, only 1 worked.

i only asked because i didnt know.
so i just went and read this entire post (is this the one we are talking about?), and it has not been updated to kk base yet as far as i can see.
if you bootloop at the boot animation then its most likely because your data partition isnt formatted to ext4
I tried that as well, still no luck
