We just got a note pro to use at work and have found that if we connect to the corporate network that blocks sites, the wifi connection will disconnect after a few mins. If we connect to our outside public unblocked network, the tablet will work great.
I was wondering if anyone may know what sites I need to unblock to get this to work on our corporate network.
I know google.com would be the first one but wondering if there would be any others that need to be unblocked.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Could you please help me to find out best SIP software for HD2. I got PortSIP for my HTC HD2. It;s working very well on wifi connection. But not working at all on t-mobile UK 3g network. I get registration failed error. I just realised that PortSIP doesn't initiate the data connection at all. SO getting same message even though not connected to internet. My voip provider is actionvoip.
Any suggestions....
yes portsip does not initiate the 3G/data connection. But there is a work around. Open a web browser or any application that uses data and after connection has been established start portsip then it registers successfully.
I use Actionvoip on 3G without any problems.

Hi,
I tried same, But no success. On which network you are.. I am on t-mobile UK and i found following link (https://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/terms-and-conditions/combi/) in which thay have mentioned that
<b>
"you can't use your phone as a modem or use internet Plus for peer to peer file sharing, or making internet phone calls. *[Internet] Plus comes with a fair use policy of 3GB a month."</b>
So I am wondering wheather T-mobile is blocking my access to use any SIP software. Although i can use skype mobile on t-mobile.

I am on softbank in Japan
Skype is no SIP-software.
VoIP might also be blocked by your VoIP-provider. I use VoIP for my company and we had the problem that we could only sign in from the provider's own network. They didn't allow external connections to their VoIP-servers.
After we had some discussions on the matter we received a workaround, so we can use VoIP from anywhere in the world and customers can call us on the same number, where-ever we are
don't worry
try FRING for windows mobile.. its supported SIP .. WORK PERFECT
NIMBUZZ
Try nimbuzz messenger.
Maybe this one WVGA VoIP software with earpiece, HTC favorites import, dtmf support
Hello,
I have done a bit of a search about this but havent found an answer.
At work we have a network with wifi which is behind an authenticated proxy which the admins wont allow cell connection to. I have tried with various proxy apps but no luck. I need the wifi network to sync with the email server, which does work, however while on wifi I cant use the internet or receive txts from WhatsApp etc.
Basically I am just wanting to know if there is a way or an app, to enable 3G for a specific application while on Wifi, or to somehow enable both on request.
The dataplan I have at work is very restrictive, only 100 txt a month and 512mb Data a month on 3G. I therefore rely on WhatsApp to stay under this limit, but dont want my email app to sync to the server and download large emails while on 3G, only while on Wifi. And I need WhatsApp to use 3G as it cant get out via Wifi.
If anyone has suggestions or knows of something to get around this, I would really apprecitate it.
I am on a Galaxy S2 with Root.
Thanks
try droidwall- android firewall
Same issue
I have the same issue, only opposite, I use my phone at work to connect to a machine specific wifi router and vnc into the controls to control the machine. While I am on this connection without internet my 4g turns off and I get no data. Is there a way to force the 4g on while i am on a wifi without internet access so i can still access my email, pandora, etc?
I tried droidwall, but all that does is block the specific app from accessing the wifi connection, it still wont use the 4g connection while there is a wifi network connected, whether there is internet or not.
Oh yes, I am on a rooted Skyrocket on SKY ICS RC7.4 Speed (Great ROM BTW).
I'm guessing by the lack of response, nobody knows of a way to do what we are wanting, but I want to try refreshing this the once just to see if maybe the person who has the solution just missed the first time.
I did reflash my rom to SKy ICS 4.2A-8 if that helps. Im willing to use different roms, mods, hacks, whatever it takes to make this work.
Hi Guys,
I wonder , if there is some way to cheat my mobile network provider, who block my htc one x , when I want to use it as a modem or wifi hotspot .
When I open my web browser on my laptop I can see
"Are you using your phone as a modem or personal hotspot?
Reference SIM002
Connecting your phone to other devices to use it as a modem so they can access the internet (also called "tethering") is not what your plan was designed for.
If you're on a Pay Monthly plan other than The One Plan and you want to tether, you'll need to buy an Add-on. You'll then get a tethering allowance. Unfortunately our Pay As You Go tariffs and some of our older Pay Monthly plans aren't compatible with tethering Add-ons.
To find out what Add-ons you can get on your plan, and to buy an Add-on, visit your My3 account on your phone or computer and select Buy Add-ons.
If you're having problems accessing the internet on your phone after you've seen a warning message about tethering you just need to turn your phone off and back on again. You'll need to buy an Add-on if you want to keep tethering.
If you're looking for an internet connection, our Mobile Broadband offers great value for using the internet on devices like tablets and laptops. Find out more about our Mobile Broadband at three.co.uk/mbb."
However Skype and FB messenger work fine.
I'll be grateful for any help

Subscribed! Had a WiFi tether app which I used to use on the Note 3 on Three UK but now got a new phone Nexus 6P and can't tether using that app on three as it uses my allowed "tether allowance" of only 4gb/month on an unlimited plan
I want to tether to my Nexus 7 tablet without rooting the 6P.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA Forums
I have a question regarding the T-Mobile network in the US. I have a business that requires me to have different internet connections and IP addresses to test stuff on the internet. Currently I am on AT&T and Verizon and they both change IPs when I turn on and off airplane mode or if I restart the phone. The IP pool is large also and there are no repeat IPs. This is what I am looking for and was wondering if T-Mobile has something like this on their network.

HI
I work in a university which uses the Eduroam wifi network. My phone has a strong signal and connects to it fine but my watch doesn't recognize it as even being there. Does anyone know why this might be? Are there certain networks the watch won't work with? It picks up all kinds of other random networks just not the one I need to connect to.
I tried phoning the Samsung helpline and they didn't know, and the guy in the support center didn't even realize that these watches worked on wifi lol.
Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received!
Hi,
Thats because those hotspots need a 'login ID' (username / password), and thats not supported on the watch i think.
Kind regards.
Thanks. That's a real pain as the main reason I bought it was so that I could wander the entire university campus without my phone. Can't believe the people at Samsung helpline didn't know this
