Losing network connection randomly - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone else experiencing network loss sometimes? Only a reboot seems to help. I'm on 4.4.4 stock on a XT1032 model. A fix would be nice.
Motorola forum also has lots of users having this issue.

i have also noticed this happening on my 4.4.4 moto g from time to time

No more issues since last days. Mostly due to bad SIM connection. If persistent, its best to ask your provider for a new one.

Terrible WiFi performance. Anybody having the same issues?

Started having this issue from a week or so. Its so terrible can't even stream a single YouTube video without network connection issues. I have a xiaomi mi3 connected to the same network and it can perform without any issues. First screenshot is from xiaomi mi3 and the second from opo. Does anyone have the same issue with their opo. Please let me know if their is a way to fix this. Opo is running stock cm 11s version xnph44s.
Maybe you have apps that slow down your WiFi Connection. Are you rooted or have you made any changes on your system? A Factory Reset should fix the problem.
Thanks for the reply. I am running stock cm 11s. Didn't root or not running any mods. Its bare stock. I couldn't even have a good network connection for at least 5 mins straight. Play store downloads take forever. Thanks appreciate the help.
Yes, me too.
Worse connection "power" compared to my old Galaxy s2 and sometimes I have random disconnection...
And failed to mention that there is no problem at all with lte mobile network connection. My OPO stays connected to the WiFi network and signal strength is strong but can't get packets.

[Q] OPO won't receive calls or SMS when on wifi

Having some issues with receiving calls and SMS on my OPO when connected to my home wifi router, I have searched forums and official OPO forums bit have had no luck finding a solution.
Im from the UK and use virgin mobile (uses the EE network), router is the virgin superhub if that makes a difference
Problem seems to have been happening since I got the phone (begining of Dec 14) but I only became aware of it around new year, girlfriend has an OPO also and does NOT have this issues.
Phone is the global model running stock cyanogen 44, android version 4.4.4
Any help would be appreciated, struggling with this one
Thanks

This has been an off and on again issue for many devices since 4.3 was released. I did a google search and Nexus 5 was plagued by this. There's a long thread on the google support forum, with several OPO posts. The thread is more than a year old, and no root cause has yet been discovered. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason regarding who gets it and who doesn't. I have had this happen intermittently, and a reboot usually solves it. For those who suffer this chronically, the only work around seems to be to keep the phone on 3G preferred. Don't let it connect to LTE.

Yea I found some people talking about the issue on other devices, seems really weird, and yea I did change the preferred network setting to 3g (was previously set as 4g which my network doesn't provide me with) and it worked for a while, however seemed to start again recently, will search for those threads and have a read, thanks for the help
Any other info from people with this issue would be helpful too,
Is it possible that changing my routers broadcast channel would make a difference, could it interfere with the radio?
Thanks again
Still having this issue, yesterday I reflashed stock cyanogen 44 via fastboot method and problem is even worse now, the issue seemed to be every now and again but seems to happen every time now
No longer receiving calls when connected to 3g and WiFi either, only workaround seems to be if I switch to 2g mobile services and I'm still able to receive calls on WiFi
Is there an easy way to make my phone auto switch to 2g on WiFi (closest iv found is disabling mobile data on WiFi)
Thanks, hope anyone has some more info on this
Edit; found a workaround by using g cyanogen profiles to downgrade to 2g on my home networks, but still looking for info on a perm solution, thanks
I´m having the same issue with Wifi turn on, I cannot make or receive calls.
Let me know if you find a solution.
Intermitent issues receiving calls on OnePlus One when in WiFi
I'm also having this intermittent (Not always!) problem of not receiving calls in my OnePlus One when connected to WiFi. This started to happen after a regular upgrade to Android 5.0.2 (Cyanogen OS 12.0-YNG1TAS17L).
I found the solution in forums.oneplus.net. Just search for: virgin-mobile-uk-no-incoming-calls-with-wi-fi-enabled-and-3g-lte in Google and you will find the link. Go to page 3 on this posting.
The issue is related to the fact that calls fail while in WiFi and LTE. Create at least two System Profiles (Settings -> System Profiles). One to change the "Preferred network type" to 2G when connected to any of your WiFI networks, and another that changes the "Preferred network type" to 2G/3G/LTE when disconnecting from any of your WiFI networks.

Need help with my modem.

It has been two months since I've flashed the GPE Lollipop on my Moto G (XT1034 which was from Canada and I'm now in the Philippines) . At first I thought getting no signal in some areas was normal, but then I realized I was the only one having that problem.
I've flashed the XT1032 modem but it didn't detect my sim so I decided to flash the XT1034 modem which I thought would work and it did detect my sim. Problem is, I'm getting really late text messages and in some areas, even in malls, I don't have signals and I can't even make calls. It would randomly jump from having a good connection to having none at all and that is strange because I've never had that problem when I was stil back at Kitkat. I live in the Philippines by the way and I've been using my phone only here the entire time. I don't know how to get my phone have an unlocked modem too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I'm thinking of downgrading to 4.4.4 and wait for the update, not the soak test.

[Q] Moto G XT1039 Signal loss problems on stock firmware

Hello! Apologies if I do some dumb mistakes forum-wise and pass as a total noon at this, cause I actually am! Anyway, here's my problem:
So a couple of weeks ago I tried CM12, an unnoficial CM12 by Beeto and CM11 by him too, I noticed a big major flaw with all of them, which made me go back to stock firmware... The cell signal sometimes is just very weak, and I'm experiencing this on the stock firmware too! I go look at battery>cell standby at the end of the day and I notice that it spends about 15% of time without signal, should this worry me? Its just that my friend's phones normally show "0%" or very very close in the same conditions! I'd like to know if there's a way to fix this in any way, either on the Roms I tried or the stock firmware (since I prefer custom Roms anyway)... I'll be waiting for a response! Thank you!
EDIT: My friends are reporting that my messages duplicate sometimes! Really need a fix for this, it's dumb :/
Also with an XT1039 here (rooted stock 4.4.4 w/ bb). Used a Samsung Galaxy Ace II before (CM11) and the signal has similar dropouts with both phones. Wondered if it was the firmware (on my old phone) but as far as I can tell (also tried my sim card with an old SonyEricsson V630) it is my service provider (E-Plus Germany). Moreover we have a pretty white (poor) provider coverage in Krautland (3G and LTE on E-Plus are basically only with full signal strength outdoors in major cities). So I guess nothing to worry about.

Network Signal Issue on Z3.

Hello,
Its been 3 weeks with Z3 and i have been having serious trouble with my network provider Vodafone, Mumbai. Didnt have this issue on my previous lumia 920 or OPO.
the network just goes "no network". even if i manually locate my home n/w and apply, it goes to a never ending loop. only a reboot fixes the issue.
Happens randomly many times a day. i just upgraded to lollypop, the issue has worsened.
Any suggestions? although i didnt face with vodafone on my previous phones as stated, i had to get a new nano sim for this connection for Z3. i tried checking the sim tray.. and as you know, it sits upside down when the phone's display is facing up.. might be a connectivity issue between sim card and the contacts?
Reset to factory settings. Try this. Since you just upgraded to Lollipop, it's best to do it.
i downgraded to kitkat. i have never faced network issue (even if i get no signal, it quickly recovers when there is signal). i am running the .77 kitkat version. would like to stay on this !!
