Hi there,
my Z3 has a fine, long crack on the backside. It is hardly visible, but it is a crack.
Now I ask myself, if the phone is still water-resistant...
Thx

Hi Guys,
Heard a lot about this forum but this question may not belong here...
Anyways,
I dropped a knife on the screen of my i9000. No glass breakage but it instantly lost half the screen, the bottom half. Now if pressed on the screen firmly the bottom half would flash up a weird colour then go back to black. over the next 2-3 days I lost more and more of my screen until I had nothing, total black with no hope of resurrection by pressing on it.
Ok so I replaced the screen today. Being more specific I replaced the whole screen assembly (LCD, digitizer, all capacitive buttions, etc. basicly everything. Things I didn't replace were the main motherboard, battery, backcover ha ha).
This makes me think the fault is in the main motherboard, as if something got shook up but my question is where do I start to look?
I can tell that the LCD isn't getting signal but where would I look to remedy that problem?
Thanks in advance,
A very out of pocket _toiletduck_

Moving to Q&A
I was at work tonight and I dropped my captivate. The phone is still on (also turned it on and off fine) but it looks like in the top right corner of the screen it is cracked all the way on the INSIDE, not the gorilla glass. It appears that I no longer have a capacitive screen except in that small area now. (about the width of my finger) Any way to fix this or should I just get a new phone? (it is a referb so no warrenty or anything)

First off, sorry to hear about the drop, however, you've posted this in both General (where no questions belong) and Q&A. Please refer to your post in Q&A.

I have a big problem and all this is my fault .I put the phone on the car seat and I was forced to brake abruptly and the phone fell and struck the support of the chair. After shock outer glass lens is broke as it is shown in the picture. Phone works perfectly all the buttons and menu are fully functional but it broke the outer glass lens . You can offer a solution can I change the outer glass lens or is too complex? Where i can find or buy replacement parts in particulary outer glass lens?In attachament you have the pictures. The phone is Star A9220 5 Inch Capacitive touchscreen MTK6573

Unfortunately I could not find a repair video....looks like you need to do some more Googling. With a no name device it is a lot harder getting this help.
I would assume that it would be like replacing the digitizer on my EVO.
I resolved
I bought an outer lens and was able to exchange a9220 phone screen . Can change smoothly .

I see dust inside the ear area, speaker area and the headphone plugging hole. I wonder how do you clean those? Please share.
Wash it, the phone is water proof man!!
Sent from my D6653 using XDA Free mobile app
Burn it if you want
Jk
Use teeth brush and water to remove dust.
Do u guys really put this into water to wash? I really afraid haha. Bcoz if water really inside, warranty is useless.
