[Q] [D2302] Question about bootloader and DRM's. - Sony Xperia M2

Hi, I am Eugenio, and I like my new smartphone Sony Xperia M2 dual, (previous was a lg p500, nice one ), I like what sony has made with android and user experience, on the other side I come from a smartphone that has root, and some apps...you know....are addictive(with the root PoWeR). I already checked the phone number(*#*#...) and my smartphone are allowed to be unlocked in the bootloader. And I readed that if I do the unlock, I may break some DRM's keys that can influence negatively my user experience, and now I am wondering what kind of features/algorithms I am going to influence negatively(or break) by unlocking the bootloader? Some expert on this forum know what kind of things I am going to lose?
[Bonus question] I looked in this page to obtain the code that give me the capacity to unlock the bootloader: developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/
and I was wondering if there are any problem to select the device Xperia M2 to obtain the necessary code obtained later by IMEI?
There is no one "M2 dual" in the list, and I dont know if this selection is valid or not for my intention to unlock the bootloader, what you think about? It is a valid method too?
[Combo->Bonus question] When I select "Xperia M2" in that page, there are this advice:
Important note! In order to unlock your Xperiaâ„¢ M2 you need to be on software version 18.3.C.0.37. Also beware that booting this device the first time after unlocking the boot loader may take a long time.
After I read it, I see the software version of my smartphone, and it is 18.3.B.0.31 and I was wondering if this would make impossible to unlock the bootloader. It is a problem?
[Final noob question] After all this doubts, if the unlock operation can be made, can I root the current stack of my android? Or I need to flash a new rom stack?

Unlocking bootloader in Sony Xperia U?

Already did a search and readings. I read that if the "bootloader" option is not present in Service info, Settings after dialing *#*#7378423#*#*, it's not possible to unlock by normal means.
Then I read that, by "releasing" the device from the vendor (unlocking sim), I get the option for unlocking bootloader, but since I'm in Mexico this is not an option. Vendor is monopoly and kind of "tricky" or "unreliable".
So I'm here to ask you if there's a way to unlock this phone, even if it was a long or difficult one. I want to install custom roms on it...
Thanks.

[Q] About Unlocking, Flashing and Rooting

Hi, I am new to XDA and this is my first ever post, so Devs, be easy on me.
I own a Sony Xperia SP device (c5302) which is currently running Android 4.3 (12.1.A.1.201) and I want to gain root access on my device.
I looked at several tutorials and videos and found that I need to have the Bootloader unlocked first of all. I am not sure about the exact procedure as every tutorial follows a slightly differently process.
Here are my questions as a newbie.
I want to know that what losses can I have if I try to unlock my bootloader?
After rooting, will I be able to get the same android and build version running on my device i.e. Android 4.3 and build 12.1.A.1.201?
Will I be able to get future updates from Sony that are shown in the phone as notifications as and when the updates arrive?
Is it possible to bring my phone back to the same condition it is in today? Like it was never rooted or the bootloader was never unlocked, because I want to avail warranty as well?
1. Warranty
2. Ofcourse
3. I think this is device / manufacturer specific...
4. You can always reflash to stock ROM, talking about bootloader some bootloaders can be unlocked but can't be relocked this is again device / manufacturer specific.

Need help to get this on my Xperia Z5 (E6653)

Hey everybody I really want to install this on my Xperia Z5 and I'm a total newbie in Android Development, rooting and stuff.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...-n-style-xperia-x-systemui-v1-themes-t3368086
This one is for Z5 and I really like to have this on my phone, The difference of this with the other ones in "Cross Device Development" is that it doesn't require root, I don't want to root my phone nor unlock my bootloader and I think I can't cause in Service Menu; bootloader unlock is not allowed as I'm on Vodafone UK.
This mod requires Deodex and then flash via recovery, What I'm asking is that doesn't installing a recovery or to deodex using it require root?, correct me if I'm wrong but it appears that there's already a recovery available on the Z5 if so can I flash that using Sony's own recovery?
In short is there anyway to install this on my Z5 Without rooting?
Cheers mates!

No, you can't. You can't flash anything not-sony-signed on stock phone.
Locked bootloader with stock kernel is completely closed and protects system partitions.
You must unlock you bootloader to do anything you can find in these forums. Absolutely no other way.
If you wish, you can try searching on Play store an app (launcher) that emulates Xperia X home launcher. If there's any, it will be limited in comparison with the solution provided in the thread above, as it will not change System UI elements.
Regarding unlocking, please enable "OEM unlock" in developer settings (tap many times on "build number" in settings -> phone info ). Try again to check your Unlocking possibility in service menu.
Thank you, thank you very much for your reply, The Xperia X launcher is already available on Beta Home Program, however it's the lockscreen I really really like, such a shame that you can't get it without root.

E5823 Rooting - newbie help needed, have a few questions after some reading...

Hello,
I recently bought a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (E5823), and was instantly appalled by the amount of pre-installed bloatware that I can't get rid of. I am now trying to root my phone in order to do so. There is however a lot of information to take in on the matter, and a lot of it seems conflicting to a newbie like myself when so much is dependant on device and android version.
Some info on my phone
Sony Xperia Z5 Compact (E5823)
Android version: 6.0.1
Kernel version: 3.10.84-perf-gf1cfa5f, [email protected] #1, Mon May 30 18:41:52 2016
Build number: 32.2.A.0.253
Rooting status: Bootloader unlock allowed: No
Basically - just out of the box, updated to the latest firmware, a couple of downloads from the app store, and that's it.
Does my "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" status mean that I cannot unlock the bootloader by any means? According to http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/ the Z5 should be allowed to do so, why isn't mine?
Ultimately what I want to do for the moment is rooting my phone. Nothing more, and with as little change as possible. Ideally I'd like not to lose any functionality either (read about losing several camera and image related features due to DRM, amongst others). I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/root-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605 - is this the best suited guide for me? And will it definitely work on my phone, despite the Service Menu telling me that I cannot unlock the bootloader?
In such a case that the above guide is what I'm looking for - once done and if successful, will I be able to download firmware updates as my phone notifies me about them, without further messing around? (the normal/traditional way)
Thanks in advance,
Chris.
ps: I'm not worried about voiding the warranty, and I'm used to poking around in untraditional areas, albeit not on Android thus far.
You cannot unlock your bootloader or root so all guides are useless. Sony say the Z5 bootloader is unlockable however they lock some on carriers request. You want to try a different firmware I find that nordic has less bloat. You can also disable most apps aswell

That's unlikely to be the reason in my case - my phone was bought retail through Amazon, not with a carrier contract.
Is there nothing that can be done to change the bootloader unlocking permissions?

You can't do anything about it, but I suppose you could ask Sony if they'll unlock it for you, or contact Amazon and ask if they'll swap it for an unlockable unit.

Xperia z3 d6633 23.5.a.1.291 (dual sim)(help)

So basically I want to root my phone.
As mentioned in the title above, this phone of mine exists nowhere as per MY knowledge in being root-able.
This phone was able to be rooted in lower versions. Now I don't think it exists.
1) THE OFFICIAL SONY SITE, won't let me unlock the bootloader.
2) Without unlocking the bootloader I THINK I won't be able to flash a custom ROM.
3) I need help with this.
-Unlocking the bootloader.
-Rooting it
-Getting the best custom rom
-MAYBE being able to use Nougat.
So can anyone on this website kindly help me?
I am a noob and am pretty new, so my knowledge is low, but I am looking forward to root this device now.
Regards
