My phone is three weeks old and i just noticed that on white screens like google search screen there are horizontal lines flickering which disappear when i touch the screen and appear again when i remove my finger. Also they are more visible as the brightness gets lower. Also the first time i used my phone after a few hours of using i was watching a replay in clash of clans and suddenly vertical pink lines appeared and the whole screen was distorted (like a broken lcd monitor) and a restart solved this problem however it hasn't occured since. Last issue am having is when changing brightness it's not smooth ie the increase or decrease is not accurately gradual don't know how to describe it but you may call it flickering. These issues are not affecting anything but am worried that it may worsen overtime and become a problem. Any help or suggestions please.

Hello everyone,
I saw multiple threads already opened for the burn in issue (which I also have from time to time) and I wanted to share my solution with you. It is a simple video, which is changing the three main colors (RGB) very fast. Played for 5-10 minutes on a loop will erease any glitches on your screen (softkeys burned into the screen which is the most commen problem).
Here is the link in youtube:

Here is the mp4 file to upload directly on your device:

To the Moderators: I searched over the forum for a solution and did not find it, I hope I am not overlaping with another old thread, just wanted to help.
Regards.
Hi
I don't mean to thread-crap
but....
after having discussed this issue with HTC themselves they have said its a hardware based issue
whilst its true running a slide show/video full screen displaying solid blocks of colour are likely to erase screen burn-in, the issue will still persist, the underlying cause is a faulty screen panel which must be replaced
Could you upload it somewhere? I could use it, i have a stuck pixel. It's blue on a black background, it should fix it.
I once fixed a big bright spot on a LCD TV with one of these RGB movies.
Hi duke_stix, I agree with you that it could be a faulty display panel, but however I didn't find anyone had it replaced due to that issue. And I know it is a temporary solution, but at least there is a solution

Hi all,
during the past week i noticed that my today screen looks strange at least once a day.
When i close an application, sometimes the today screen moves up some pixels and remains there. The lowest part of the window of the last used application can be seen then at the bottom of the today screen (in the example pic it's the phone dialpad).
The only solution is to reset the device.
This strange behavior happens regardless of the application that was opened.
Is there anybody out there having a clue ? Thank you.
Regards,
Scholler
it looks like you've installed some sort of "task bar" application. Either uninstall that app or disable that app from displaying information on the bottom of the today screen.

This is a known issue with a certain release of Raphaels.
There was a thread discussing this over in the general section.

Hi all,
until now i did not find a solution for this problem... and i did not find the thread you mentioned...
Is there anything that could help me solving this ?
Thank you.
Received this phone (THL W8S) 5 days ago, and straight out of the box it has had a serious issue where the phone will lock up, the screen will fade slowly to black, and then reboot itself. The problem occurs both after factory resetting AND in safe mode.
The phone is unrooted and running the stock ROM.
Basically during use, the screen suddenly becomes unresponsive to touch and the physical buttons (home, volume, power) all stop functioning. As soon as the phone locks up this way, the screen slowly fades to black over about 60 seconds, at which point I have to leave it to fade completely before it reboots itself.
It happens most frequently when using any browser (stock, or otherwise) taking from less than 5 seconds to around 5min before the random lock up occurs) but also happens when scrolling through messages; scrolling through emails in either of the stock apps; using a compass app which came pre-installed (very quickly).
Initially I thought it might have to do with WiFi, but problem also cropped up with WiFi off, using 2/3G. Then in troubleshooting also managed to get it to happen using the camera (lot of motion, and repeatedly taking snaps).
Also odd is that the batteries I received in the box were generic black ones, not the official stamped/logo'ed THL ones I've seen on every website and every unboxing of this particular phone. So while there's a possibility this may be a battery issue, the fact that the phone hasn't done this while using a more battery draining app (Beach Buggy Blitz; Rayman Jungle Run) makes me think this is a deeper hardware fault related to , although I don't know enough about voltages and such to rule it out completely.
I have a couple videos showing the problem, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to put the links here. Should both be easily found by searching:
THL W8S issue Kostas P
if interested.
Any thoughts/views would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I wanted to inform you that lately the reboot occur concurrently with application updates.
They are like your impressions.
Best regards
THL W8S the screen fade and reboot too!!
Hello!
I received the phone on 12 September. The screen faded from the first minutes of use. Yesterday I came three times. In "THL mobile store" recommend updating the firmware. But the update I have not found anywhere.
any suggestions
Thank you very much in advance.
Hi guys, I'll try to describe this problem as best I can. I've tried to take a video of this but it doesn't quite work.
Basically about 80% of the screen occasionally starts flickering. It could be a screen refresh issue or a backlight issue or something physically wrong with the screen. The top 20% is absolutely fine!
I've tried flashing different ROMs, Kernels, Radios, used different governors, set force GPU render and set Disable HW overlays.
None of these things work, whilst some appear to fix the problem its over ever temporary. Sometimes increasing the brightness fixes it but not every time.
The flicker has a slight yellowish colour to it too.
I've disassembled the phone and checked the screen connector ribbon etc and all seemed fine.
Has anyone heard or experienced this themselves? Please help!!!
My last option is to do a factory reset and start all over again. Or buy a new screen for £35...
Thanks
Can no one help meh???
Please help. I think my GPU is failing. I have green dots when I turn the phone on, then screen is always shaking, moving upwards and the colours are not displayed correctly. See photos here: imgur[dot]com/a/aMDz0 . The problem with the colours appeared before in the last 2 weeks but I always fixed it by rebooting. Since this morning, it became much worse.
I made a screencast but on the video file everything is displayed perfectly.
Please tell me what seems to be the problem and what solution might I find to solve it. The phone is almost unusable now.
