Just got my 32GB Ltd Shield Tablet from Amazon. Just concerned about the cracked corner issue. How long does it usually take for the cracks to appear? I think I only have 30 days to return a defective unit to Amazon.

You have a 1 year with Nvidia. I had a screen go bad on my Shield Portable and they replaced the device which I had for 9 months.
Thanks. I know they have a good warranty policy. I was just curious when I should stop worrying about cracks.

I had mine for about 3 months before it got any cracks. I RMA'ed it and got a new one today.

The top left corner of mine cracked after about 3 weeks of gentle, infrequent use. About 1 week later the top right corner cracked. Then 1 more week and the bottom right corner. RMA with no questions asked from Nvidia.

I to have to tell you this but you are going to have to send your device in to have the screen replaced. I have seen this numerous times on XDA and every time the owner has to send the phone back to have the screen replaced. I hope your warranty is still good.
Wow.. i won't believe what i hear just now from AT&T, they said it is not cover as warranty. I have no F..ing clue why the hack they do this to me, it never been drop to water or ground or physical damage but the reps said it is consider not cover the warranty.. I got so piss.

If the 1-year manufacturer warranty is still good I would call HTC. If the manufacturer warranty is still good your screen issue will be covered. I have known numerous people with the exact same screen problem and it was covered under the manufacturer warranty.
I have the same problem and no warranty...
i want to buy a new screen on ebay... it cost only 30 Euros or so. but the shops sell to party, only the screen and only the touchscreen.
this part the TOUCH SCREEN DIGITIZER ->
http://cgi.ebay.de/HTC-TOUCH-PRO-RAPHAEL-100-TOUCH-SCREEN-DIGITIZER-REPAIR_W0QQitemZ380196974454QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item5885816f76
or i need only the LCD screen?
in my opinion it looks like the first part... the touch screen digitizer
the "water like" looks near the touchpanel.
I have the same issue.. The screen will last a while in that state, but at some point the digitizer underneath will give way and render the screen useless. I had insurance ($125 deductable ouch!) so I am just getting a new fuze.
Just to note.. I pocket my phone daily, so I am thinking that the constant pressure is whats squishing these screens in a way that compromises the seal between the digitizer and the lcd.
Hello! Today I received my new G-Tablet, but immediately noticed what seems a black spot on top of the screen (I haven't even turned it on yet) I tried to clean it off but it doesn't come off at all, I have looked at it closely and it projects a shadow downwards, which is why I believe it's right on top of the screen. I have no idea how it impacts the actual image on the screen since I just received the tablet, but I am a bit concerned that it will show quite clearly once I turn it on. Any suggestions on how to remove this "dirt"? Thanks!
I read the other posts but it seems that they were about dirt under the screen, which I don't believe is my case.
Thanks!
When I received my gtab it had multiple speces of dust under the screen. I asked about it here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=903360
Apparently I wasn't the only one.
I returned my gtab and exchanged it for a new one. I explained my problem to the retailer and the new one they sent me was perfect.
are u sure its on the screen and not in the frame. if in the frame in the upper left by the power button and under where the volume buttons are its the light sensor thats used to auto adjust the lcd brightness. there is another spot like that on the screen in the lower left its where the led for power and charge is.
mine was like that too. Did you order from amazon by any chance?
Well I did order from Amazon actually, in the end I just returned it, my replacement should arrive Monday. Hopefully this one is without problems, for I am dying to "mess" with my Gtablet! I have rooted and whatnot my Incredible and I enjoy it greatly XD
It took me a month to get mine back after sending it in for an exchange.
Longest month of my life.
Now I'm in heaven, Swyping across a 10" screen.
Oh wow a month?!? Damn XD I guess I am lucky... My replacement tablet is already on the way with a delivery estimate of March 7. The Amazon page says "it's being prepared for shipment" but they are sending it with one-day shipping and should arrive Monday. I guess I am lucky I really hope that this one has no issues though... I am going to use an Ipad screen protector on the screen of it until my Skinomi screen protector arrives
It took a month because I sent it back right after Christmas. Guess they were backed up with returns.
All,
I know this is of my own doing but dropped the TF701 a few weeks ago. Looked like everything survived unscathed with the exception of the top right corner of the gorilla glass being cracked. But I spoke too soon!
For the last few weeks, the unit will be working fine and then all of a sudden I will get multiple horizontal lines across the screen and the unit locks up. I was wondering if anyone else out there has had a similar issue, and is it worth getting repair?
Not sure if this is due to the glass being cracked or is their something more serious with the innards...
Opinions welcome!

You are in the TF700 forum
Sounds like hardware damage to me - I'd get it replaced or repaired.
So I'm looking for some general advice. One of my friends from works daughters broke her ipod touch screen and I told her I would replace it as long as she payed for all of the parts. The adhesive the screen came with was complete crap so I bought the proper 3M adhesive.
The problem is no matter what I do the darn screen won't stay down. I had it sitting under 20lbs of books for 2 days and it still pops up and doesn't come flush with the frame.
Does anybody have any general advice for me to try? I have one more set of the adhesives for the ipod so this is my last chance and I want to make sure I get it right. To be more specific the top and bottom are normally fine because that's where the adhesive is, there's none on the side as there wasn't any stock either. But then a few days later the top starts to pop off and I have no idea why.
Back to store?
Perhaps you can take it back to Apple and they will replace it for a fee? Saves the DIY costs? I think they do it for iPhones.

They do that if you bought it during like the last year, otherwise it's $100, and I already started but am stuck on how to get the screen to stay sticking
I am Samsung type of guy and I know that they offer 2 year warranty in the UK. Perhaps you should just test the water and try and blag a freebie! Best of luck getting the screen fixed!
See the main problem about actually going to the store is it's not the original screen, it's been opened and chagned. It's in void of the warranty
I have had the phone for a little over a month and dropped it face down on tile. It has a small crack at the bottom left corner. I now have a screen protector on it, so the crack is barely visible...however, will this make the phone more fragile? Should I pay Samsung to fix it?

i wouldn't worry about it being more fragile as you said you dropped it once its cracked regardless if you drop your phone its got a chance to smash into 50 pieces, down to luck i suppose
As long as you don't drop it again it will be fine (and even if you do chance it will be okay), its corning gorilla glass 5 its pretty strong stuff.
if you are super worried invest in a nice protective case for yourself to use while your juggling with it
I wouldn't get it wet with a crack on it.
cracked screen
Your phone might only have the digitizer cracked and if you continue to use it like you might crack the actual lcd part as well which is a lot more expensive than just the digitizer. I would get it fixed at a local repair shop. Samsung charges way to much for that. It would be cheaper to get a phone on ebay for that price

I'm actually sending mine to Samsung for them to fix a cracked screen. 70$ including tax and shipping, if that's to much then I want to know where your getting yours fixed!
Sent from my SM-G955U1 using Tapatalk
thats cheap
i got mine fixed @ samsung singapore.
just a minor screen crack at the top corner.
set me back 220usd
Thats a good price n ive heard similar. Be mindful, getting phone repaired by ne 3rd party voids warranty. Might be cheaper but also nit water proof ne more when going 3rd party.
