[Q] LiME Kernel Module for Android Forensics - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
Can anyone guide me how to build kernel module for LiME kernel against N5 Stock Kernel 3.4.0-perf-ga6edd5e or CM11 Kernel.
If anyone have config.gz or module please share.

how many of these threads did you start? at least you posted this one into q&a. btw, you only need one thread, no need to spam xda with the same question.

[Q] How to add SetCPU support to custom kernel?

Hi guys, first of all, I hope this is the right place to ask, if not then please move this thread
I want to compile a custom kernel for my device Spice Mi310. I want to know how I can add SetCPU support to my kernel (2.6.32.9)? I've seen many people here on xda enabling SetCPU support for their kernels, unfortunately my device isn't that popular so no one has an OC kernel for this device. I've compiled dozens of kernels for Linux PC's but I'm new to android kernel compiling
If any of the kernel hackers here on xda can help, it would be much appreciated
bump....no one?

[Q] TUN module

Have found other threads for other devices but nothing so far for the Charge.
Anyone know who I can load the TUN module on my device?
Can I use my stock kernel and add the tun.ko module or do I need to use a custom kernel?
Thank you.
+1
I'd love to see this too.

if you go to rootzwiki in the droid charge development imoseyon updated his kernel so that it now has TUN support.

Looking for CyanogenMod Kernel Developers

Hi,
I am looking for developers who can develop a custom cm10.2 kernel with low voltage and overclock.
anyone up for it?
hi mate,i think you should ask in q&a section,i don't think this correct section. correct me if i'm wrong, hehe

If the most bugs are fixed I will do that.

[Completed] Modifying stock kernel

Good afternoon. I appoligise for the noob question but is there a way I can edit (I want to add overclock to a kernel) an already made (compiled?) kernel instead of having to completly build the kernel from source? For example, is there a way I can unpack a boot.img and modify the kernel, repack the boot image, and flash it instead of (in my case) going to Sony Developer World and compiling an AOSP kernel from source, I can just modify the frequencies of the CPU in the kernel the phone is currently running and reflash it? Sorry for the complicated and stupid question, i'm very new to kernel modifying... Thanks for any responses and/or help. ^^
Hi
Thank you for using XDA Assist.
There's an explanation in XDA University to have a few features like OC: http://xda-university.com/as-a-developer/adding-features-to-your-kernel
Good luck.

port kernel 3.10.75 to 3.10.99 for cyanogenmod 13 in mt6582

Hi guys I try port the cyanogen mod 13 of the this page http://www.mtkcrom.com/2016/04/cm-13601-cyanogenmod-13-for-mtk6582.html
The which says that is for mt6582 with kernel 3.10.99 but I have kernel 3.10.72....
the problem then of port the kernel (replace the kernal image and bootpath from stock rom to the kernel 3.10.99) it not work for me...
Can someone say me if it is possible...?
I have a question. Could I compile a cyogenmod 13 for a unkown device like AZUMI a50c+ .. Only know that is have a Armv7 (4 core), mt6582 and have a kernel 3.10.72??
thank you very much :fingers-crossed:

You can try compiling for the device you mention and then porting the ROM you compiled to your device.

If there is no source for your device then you can't compile for your device, you'll have to piece everything together yourself.
Porting from another device is your best option.

You should be porting the kernel along with the ROM from the other device. From what I've seen in my time here at XDA, it's quite difficult to port across android versions and also somewhat difficult to port across differing MTK chipsets. I haven't owned or used any MTK devices so I don't know enough about them to help. I can only advise you in general about the direction you need to take.
