So you had a problem and thought wiping everything would fix it or you don't know why wiping everything would cause a problem?

So when doing the advanced wipe you wiped everything? Surely it was obvious that wiping 'system' and 'internal storage' would result in this. Use adb to push a ROM zip to your phone so you can flash it.

[Q] HELP!! i wiped my cache and sd card partition...

So, to make the long story short...
basically, I have no cache partion.
I was rooting my nexus s and flashing a rom everything was fine until I retardedly pressed wipe cache partition in clockwork recovery so now i can still boot up normally but i can't do anything as you all no, the nexus s doesn't have an external card slot, so my phone says that I haven't got an sd card inserted.
Is there any way to bring back the cache partition and how could i make it recognise it as the sd card?

The problem above seems to have fixed itself but now I have another problem. I have flashed MIUI rom and I don't know where the superuser app has gone since I rooted it. So now I can't flash a newer version of CWM and I'm stuck with this rom. I have downloaded the CWM 5.x.x.x.x from the other thread but I am not able to flash it even with update.zip. I seem to be unable to flash anything at the moment because in CWM it just aborts everything because the 'cache' partition is not there. Also when I go boot up normally into MIUI, I can't turn wifi on, everytime I change it to on, it just won't let me and it says error below the switch. Is there anyway to fix this at all?
I think you need to go back into clockwork mod recovery, go to mounts menu, make sure sdcard is mounted. If you can't mount it, you'll have to format it. If you can mount it, then do it, then go to mount usb, and hook up to a computer and back up everything you have in your sdcard folder just to be safe. You can now flash your ROM again.
If you have nothing in your sdcard folder when you connect to the computer, download an undelete program that works with flash drives, and see if it can restore your files.

thx for the suggestion, but I have tried that already and in clockworkmod it says that I can't mount or format the partition as because they don't exist so I don't have any idea what to do.
Also I am able to boot my phone into the rom I have flashed but when I try to turn on the wifi, it gives me and error and turns off, is there a way to solve this at all?
can you use SD partition in CWM to create it again?
Just throwin it out there, not sure if it would work or not?

I have CWM 3.0.0.0.0 so I am not sure about the other versions and this one only allows me to partition up to 4gb so not really useful on the nexus s.

do you mean flash recovery through fastboot with cmd? I tried that but in cwm or in MIUI it doesn't flash, it just says waiting for device, so I am guessing the usb connection is not working properly either. I can transfer files though if that is any help...
Then u need to install the proper drivers for your device

try to flash cf-root with Odin (pda mode)
http://www.mediafire.com/download/n3udy6p94pvyoaz/DDLF2-CFROOT-30-06-2012.tar
then reboot into recovery mode, try format data partition, and if the format does not appear wrong, then you have the partition in ext4
so the error can not format in rfs.
to install another kernel with ext4 support could format it.
try this before trying SD card
I had the same error, and I solved flashing the firmware twice with .pit file
sorry for my english

flash new rom, with newest kernel/cwm recovery
if it does not work, I dont know what more else can do
this rom :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534312
standard instruction with my comment
1. Flash CWM Compatible Kernel (CF ROOT) (you have this)
2. Reboot to Recovery.
3. Wipe Data / Factory Reset. (don't worry if you have an error)
4. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
5. The device will reboot and finish flashing.
6. Reboot to Recovery Again. (wipe and format data, cache)
7. Flash Google Apps.
8. Reboot
good luck

You can flash the stock images via fastboot, that will erase everthing and get you back to stock. You can then install a custom recovery and flash roms again.

There is a command to wipe user data, see the below guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2839471
Reason!
Thanks for your expert replies.
The reason for asking was and is for you to know in depth what happened.
My OPOs BL is unlocked and rooted.......at times try other ROMs like Hydrogen, RR, etc.
I was surprised to see and empty Baidu folder size 80 bytes shown by ES File manger, after I flashed back COS 12.
The way I flash is firstly reboot to TWRP, Format > type yes, than Factory reset, than Advanced Wipe ALL except OTG, power off the OPO.
Power on in fastboot mode, connect to pc and flash COS ROM using those commands.
All is good, except the empty Baidu Folder, fail to understand how did it persist.
Other thing is when I later flash TWRP over stock, and than when I perform a factory reset before flashing another ROM, see red SD card errors? ........have to keep rebooting to TWRP.
The way I flash is TWRP > Format type yes > Factory reset > Wipe all except OTG > Mount OTG-USB containing the zip, install zip swipe flash > once done > Reboot. (before reboot don't clear dalvik and cache).
If I take screen capture of TWRP they wont be saved in Gallery.
TWRP 2.7.8.0 when flashed on start up showed this.........
"TWRP has detected an unmodified partition. TWRP can leave your partition unmodified to make it easier for you to take official updates. TWRP will be unable to prevent the stock ROM from replacing from replacing TWRP and will not offer to root your device. installing zips or performing adb operations may still modify the system partition.
Never show this screen during boot again."
To sum up my queries are:
1. How can I perform a deep clean of OPO, and than flash COS 12 using fastboot, so I don't see any Baidu etc empty folders.
2. Than flash TWRP and and if needed can take it's screen captures.
3. Later if required can flash new custom ROM with out issues.
Bottom line to clean my OPOs Storage that includes SD card.
Btw my OPO isn't giving any issues or bugs and working great, no EFS issues etc.........
After reading all care to edit/correct what am I doing incorrect?
Thanks again.

I have seen people querying the Baidu folder before (i have it myself), it seems to be a folder left by ES file explorer, have you ever installed that? It doesnt seem to be anything malicious, although a lot people were spooked, thinking it was spyware of some sort.

Below is the command for flashing the userdata file via fastboot. If you have downloaded the fastboot image files, I think it basically pushes a blank file to overwrite/format the user data space/parition.
Code:
fastboot flash userdata userdata_64G.img

Ive tried that 4 times till now. It has been in a bootloop thrice. And I flashed stock. I currently am using stock firmware but want to flash the custom rom. The recovery is failing to wipe data because it is failing to mount data.

5. Repair or change file system.
6. Select change file system.
7. Select format type.
8. Swipe to change.
9. Select repair.
there is one problem with stock rom. its encrypts the data partition right after installing stock rom, therefore twrp can't access data partition. i had similar problem earlier. this is how i managed to fix.
solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67980158&postcount=7
i suggest you to stick with stock rom, because right now whatever roms or recoveries are made for this phone are blindly ported (just copy paste roms). i have tried about 3-4 roms for this phone, all had major bugs especially battery related. there is only one developer who made a stable rom so far is beingtejas, search his thread. if you really want to use a custom rom, try THIS rom made by gaurav kesarwani with help of beingtejas that is why i am suggesting it you otherwise it didn't worked for me atleast.

My 10 Ultra is stuck in TWRP after flashing EU ROM

Hello everyone,
As stated, I began by waiting the 7 days to get the bootloader unlocked, then proceeded to copy this EU rom to internal storage, after following this video, my phone reboots after installing the room and goes straight into TWRP. When I click on reboot on TWRP, regardless if I choose System, Recovery or Bootloader, the phone keeps coming back to twrp. I would really appreciate if anyone can help me.

Seems some system files got wiped. Open twrp and format data (don't wipe), after this restart to recovery and transfer the rom into your phone and flash, then reboot that's it. If this still occurs boot loop or returns to twrp, then download full firmware and flash it through mi flash, make sure to only select clean flash not to lock, and then wait until it boots to the welcome screen. After that flash twrp, format data (don't wipe), restart to recovery and transfer the rom into your phone, and flash and then reboot.
Hope this will fix your problem, please let me know

I was able to get it fixed by changing the filesystem on the data & internal partitions to f2fs. Did a reboot and phone went into MIUI after that. I regret flashing the EU rom but that's another topic.

Can go back to Chinese again if you want. Just flash latest .zip format ROM from http://mifirm.net .
