[Completed][Q] Ad Network advise for adult content app - XDA Assist

I'm making an app that translates adult jokes. I'm wanting to put ads in the app but not sure if I'm going to run into any issues from the ad network for the content. I've tried contacting a couple to ask, but never get a response back. I know that adult ad networks exist, but I'm afraid I may have issues publishing to the Play Store if I put them in the app. There's no images in my app just adult vocabulary. If you have any experience with this it's much appreciated. It's a freemiam app you can you can make in app purchases to get the more x rated jokes btw. Thanks.

[Q] A place to distribute or sell your apps

I'm launching this site and would like to know if think this might be a good location to distribute your free apps or sell your apps. No registration fee and higher payout than Android Market or the App Store. We don't have many apps in yet but it will support any platform and any device. I'd like your feedback. [CLOSED][APP] ScoreKeeper Plus - a free score keeping app. Could use some feedback!

HI all,
I'm somewhat new here -- been lurking a while, and have recently started posting. Anyways, I recently hit the marketplace with a free app I've developed, ScoreKeeper Plus: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bammsoft.scorekeeper
In a nutshell, it's a score keeping app, tailored towards board games and the likes, with many uses. Additionally, I've included a few useful utilities for such events -- a highly configurable dice roller and a game timer.
So far, I've received perfect reviews from my modest user-base (~20 users), but I'm looking to grow that and get some feedback to further development.
The app is free and has no ads, so please share with all who may find this useful!
All feedback is HIGHLY appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

Why does the app need permission to read contact data on the phone?
The description says why internet access is needed, but the combination of that and reading contact data for an app that doesn't seem to obviously need the phonebook could look suspicious.

Hi sorry, I missed this question. Thanks to the poster above, yes it's to pick player names from your contact list.
The network permission is to pull a message of the day when you first launch the app. The MOTD let's me communicate with my users. It pulls from here: http://android.bammsoft.com/ScoreKeeper/MOTD.txt
On a side note, I'm quite pleased because there's been an explosion of new users, a 700% increase in the past 2 days!
Cheers,
Shane
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Just pushed a significant update (1.2.0). I added many translations and completely overhauled the new game screen.
Check it out!
EDIT: It's still propagating through the play store
EDIT 2: Is available now.
I want to reset my Note 3 to factory defaults. But I'm worried that my saved scores are gone after this. So my question is where are the scores saved and can I make a backup of it.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,

@sjb933 do you have an alternative to your app or are you willing to put the app code in open source so it can be continued by others?

Why things like 'freedom' can exist?

Hello.
I do'nt know if this is the right forum, if not just move please.
I have the following question: There are apps on the internet, which allow one to crack ingame purchases. One of these
apps is freedom for example. you just have to press a button, and you get ingame purchases in a game of your choice for free.
I want to know, why things like that actually can exist, and how they work. Are they using bugs of the google play store? Or of the apps?
Why so many people can use it, without getting in trouble with the laws?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this topic.
We don't discuss warez on XDA at all. Any app that can bypass paid features of other apps, falls under that category.
So please review the rules here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=256 Especially number 6. :good:
You will not find help with those apps on this site.

Facebook/Twitter/Skype Phishing

Hello XDA,
I was wondering If there is an application that can work OFFLINE tp phish fb or any Else social thing...
I had An idea of An app where you can select what social media login Page he must fake, the path where to store the passwords and some other basic phishing options.
As i do NOT want to ask for An evil app (or to create one)
This is for testing purposes only and a proof of concept to my friends.
So, could anyone give me a link to such ANDROID app or give me a message If someone wants to develop such app --- as i would like to sponsor the project ---
that works offline and as i said before in this thread?
Once again, this is not forcing evil purposes but to show that it would be possible. NOT MEANT FOR ANY BAD PURPOSES, AS HACKING AND PHISHING ARE ILLEGAL. This is just a proof of concept (so to the moderators, please don't delete this thread)
Thnx already,
B
This kind of discussion isn't allowed on XDA, do not post about this again. Thread closed.

Thoughts about app promotion using App Streaming?

Hey guys, what are your thoughts about app streaming service that's being rolled out by Google and Rovio?*I also saw a startup (nenlitech [dot] com) providing similar service. Basically, the idea is to make an app playable on web, so potential users don’t need to download (and pay) to try out apps. You can promote your app/game and have people try it out more easily. Do you guys see this as a useful service to spend money on?*
Duplicate. Please don't crosspost (ask the same question in multiple places). It's akin to SPAM.
