Why things like 'freedom' can exist? - General Topics

Hello.
I do'nt know if this is the right forum, if not just move please.
I have the following question: There are apps on the internet, which allow one to crack ingame purchases. One of these
apps is freedom for example. you just have to press a button, and you get ingame purchases in a game of your choice for free.
I want to know, why things like that actually can exist, and how they work. Are they using bugs of the google play store? Or of the apps?
Why so many people can use it, without getting in trouble with the laws?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this topic.

We don't discuss warez on XDA at all. Any app that can bypass paid features of other apps, falls under that category.
So please review the rules here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=256 Especially number 6. :good:
You will not find help with those apps on this site.

Huge List of Android Apps (Paid & Free)!

Wow hard asses in this forum
Jay27mcr said:
I've been playing around with the Android OS for some time now and have managed to accumulate a huge collection of Applications.
I decided to list the lot (750+ apps) on a site for you to view and download for free.
Get them here:
Replace the "z" with a "p" lol.
If you have a desire & want to try these apps out then please comment on what works for the HTC Desire and what doesn't (eg. Certain versions of Swype don't work at all and to fix this i have created another folder called 'Desire' where only proven working apps for the desire will be listed.
Enjoy.

PS: These apps aren't exactly Warez. They are here for educational purposes to find out which ones work for which phone. Purely curiousity.

Weak.
Simple, even for you.
Can't you comprehend that these aren't here for warez purposes? I simply want to see which ones are suitable for the desire but as there are so many i decided to let other people access my apps and test them out on their phones to sort of speed up the process.
Heres some other examples:
DxTop (any version) simply does not work for the desire. It keeps force closing.
CoPilot (any version) again does not work on desire. Says cannot run code (or something similar)
G1 camera flow works perfectly on the Desire.
See what i'm doing now?
There are people out there who are much more qualified to test these apps on the android platform and i'm just giving them the chance to while seeing what works.
Its Simple. If you dont want the paid apps to test then just don't download them. Have the free ones instead.

Whatever your stated intentions (which I understood perfectly the first time, thanks.. I just don't believe you), the fact is you've posted a large collection of paid apps on a publicly accessible site. Anyone can come here and steal those apps now. Not only is this against the market terms of service and the developer's wishes, it's against the forum rules.
Amended main post
There hows that?
Now the actual link is not posted on this site. Its now posted on my site (forum)
That still against terms?

Doesn't matter if you hide it behind a link, you're still posting pirate software which is in breach of the forum rules.
Quite apart from that, you're hosting pirate software and distributing the links on a forum where some of the developers of said software are likely to be active members. I wouldn't be surprised if you receive some threats of legal action.

Yes, it is.
Posting warez or linking to sites containing warez is against forum rules. Please refrain from doing that in the future. Thanks.

[REQUEST] "Fast Folders" APK

This app is a really cool way to organise your apps into folders that have an iphone-esque style, but I cant find it on the market. Does anyone have the apk?
I would post a screenshot, but I'm too new.
Does no one have this?
If THIS -link is the app you're referring to I highly doubt you'll get it on this site seeing as it's a Paid App.
So you're asking for warez. Big no no on XDA Just a heads up if you didn't know
But you would be right, it does seem like it's been pulled off the market. I wonder why
I hadn't heard of this app before, but yes, if you are asking for people to give you a paid app for free, that may be why you hadn't gotten any responses (or it could be the fact that you bumped the topic after only a few hours---might want to give it a little more time first next time).
If you want a free alternative, check out Simi Folders. It has a similar look as the iPhone and is actively developed by one of the forum members (who welcomes more feature requests as well).
Thanks for the replies.
Just to be clear, I didn't know this was a paid app, and just kind of assumed it was free, which I will admit was silly. I don't pirate apps as a rule. I like supporting people who do good work.
Sorry about that.
I'll look into Simi Folders. I already use the clock, and I love it.
Thanks again.
Yup yup, SiMiFolder rocks. Here's a link for those interested.

Asking for warez is FORBIDDEN on Xda-developers.
Infraction Added.
please read the rules next time.

25 Android apps review sites

Hi. Of course, the greatest number of application installs is brought by market.android.com, but its structure doesn’t let new applications get into the top. It’s like a circle: the more installs come to market.android.com, the higher the position of the application in the top is and the more installs appear on market.android.com again. And vice versa – if there are few installs, your application is not in the top, therefore no more installs appear.
It turns out that at first you have to make an effort to push your app to the top of market.android.com. But where can you get these first application installs? There are sites with the reviews of android-apps in the network: large and small, free and commercial. As I noticed they give a good start to the applications which get into the top of new applications of market.android.com afterwards. Here is the list of sites that I’ve found:
Mod edit... Links Removed as several are Warez
I apologize for the unsorted list – I still have no idea how to arrange it.
Please share some more sites where you can place your own android-application.
Nice list..some are new to me..most are not, but great compilation..
Thanks.

Wow, thanks! That's what I've been searching for.
True, the Market got it wrong somehow.
Nice. thx!

Thank you for the list. I know this is an old post, but wouldn't it be a good idea to merge all the posts with sites where we can submit our apps to so there would be a long list (maybe stickie)?
I went in and gathered the list of sites that were posted here and on other sources with android sites(in total 96 sites), which should be helpful to contact for those that want to promote their apps. The doc is available here: docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmgWd2EGIn1LdDhWalp3c0RWNE1taWlycVdKbERjR0E&usp=sharing

Yes, that's a warez site, a mod should remove that post. Though as a strategy if you have a free app maybe it's a thing to contact the warez sites, they might get some traffic.

[CLOSED][APP] ScoreKeeper Plus - a free score keeping app. Could use some feedback!

HI all,
I'm somewhat new here -- been lurking a while, and have recently started posting. Anyways, I recently hit the marketplace with a free app I've developed, ScoreKeeper Plus: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bammsoft.scorekeeper
In a nutshell, it's a score keeping app, tailored towards board games and the likes, with many uses. Additionally, I've included a few useful utilities for such events -- a highly configurable dice roller and a game timer.
So far, I've received perfect reviews from my modest user-base (~20 users), but I'm looking to grow that and get some feedback to further development.
The app is free and has no ads, so please share with all who may find this useful!
All feedback is HIGHLY appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

Why does the app need permission to read contact data on the phone?
The description says why internet access is needed, but the combination of that and reading contact data for an app that doesn't seem to obviously need the phonebook could look suspicious.

Hi sorry, I missed this question. Thanks to the poster above, yes it's to pick player names from your contact list.
The network permission is to pull a message of the day when you first launch the app. The MOTD let's me communicate with my users. It pulls from here: http://android.bammsoft.com/ScoreKeeper/MOTD.txt
On a side note, I'm quite pleased because there's been an explosion of new users, a 700% increase in the past 2 days!
Cheers,
Shane

Just pushed a significant update (1.2.0). I added many translations and completely overhauled the new game screen.
Check it out!
EDIT: It's still propagating through the play store
EDIT 2: Is available now.
I want to reset my Note 3 to factory defaults. But I'm worried that my saved scores are gone after this. So my question is where are the scores saved and can I make a backup of it.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
HS1986
@sjb933 do you have an alternative to your app or are you willing to put the app code in open source so it can be continued by others?

Thoughts about app promotion using App Streaming?

Hey guys, what are your thoughts about app streaming service that's being rolled out by Google and Rovio?*I also saw a startup (nenlitech [dot] com) providing similar service. Basically, the idea is to make an app playable on web, so potential users don’t need to download (and pay) to try out apps. You can promote your app/game and have people try it out more easily. Do you guys see this as a useful service to spend money on?*
Duplicate. Please don't crosspost (ask the same question in multiple places). It's akin to SPAM.
