Hey guys, I have an issue when installing the newest version of the Google Play Store on my Nexus 5.
I'm running Android L (LPV79) with Code Blue kernel r1172 and when the installation finishes the Play Store force closes and I can't do anything about it.
Is anyone else having this issue ?

This is a funny issue. The Lollipop version of Play doesn't work on Lollipop preview
Go to Settings > Applications and Uninstall updates for Play store

That's what I did, I just wanted to know if more people had this issue because I really wanted to try the new version out

Did you try;
Manage Apps -> Google Play Store -> Clear Data
Launch Google Play Store and accept terms.

NO RESULTS. I read in issues that others after roll back to previous version download from web version.From web is o.k, if google play hadn't opened on device.
Besides, with new google account people haven't any problem.

Hi guys i just have one question my ROM version 3.0.2 and i'm afraid of updating it to 3.0.3 and 3.0.4 because others said that it has bugs (alarm app and facebook app bug) is it true??? what are your experiences in 3.0.3 and 4??
and one question why my google play store not updating to the latest 3.10.9? my google play is still 3.5.15 -__- i tried downloading the apk but in the middle of installing it tells "application not installed" how to overcome this problem?

I am using the 3.0.4 ROM and I do encounter the force closing alarm app when you're creating a new alarm. Another problem I encountered is the JellyBean Search force close but I was able to fix this by using RootUNinstaller and uninstalling the JellyBeanSearch.
Hi, I've installed the custom ROM Reaper and I'm very grateful to his author lowled (thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433816). I post here because I don't have permission to post in this developer thread and because my problem could happen with other custom roms.
The problem is that when I try to install some applications from Google Play it says that my device it's not compatible, when I know that they are very compatible. I think that the application installation of these applications in Google Play doesn't recognize Reaper rom as a SO version allowed. I've done some research with google but I haven't found a trusful solution. I think maybe I should edit a system file but I don't want to make a mesh.
I've been downloading, from several websites, apks from problematic applications when I can find them, but I'm tired of this,

I had been using CM7.2 stable which is GB 2.3.7 as well and there were a couple of times google play said certain apps were not compatible with my device when I knew that they had no problem running on DS.
one of those was Angry Birds Star Wars and I even wrote to Rovio. and their reply was along the line of : it was due to the size of the installation file and the cache space available on the device.
I later upgraded to JB and had no problem installing all these apps in google play that once gave me headache.

Thanks, I'm thinking in changing Reaper rom to solve the problem, but I'm very happy with it. I'm going to continue looking for a solution.

I am using reaper v3.0 and i haven't got a single problem... you need to let the market update at the latest version and reboot you're phone!

The new Viki forces ads in between the shows. Here's version 2.1.3 which has no ads. Just uninstall your current Viki app. Then erase the file .Viki located in your internal SD. Then install the attached apk here.

You have to allow installation of unknown sources in settings. You might also want to try to insert the apk in /data/data and set permissions to -rw -r -r.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. This works great, but since this is the older version how will it update for new shows? Like, if there's a new episode. Does it automatically add the new episode and subs from the newer version of Viki?

it was working seamlessly but today it stopped working suddenly...refuses to connect to the internet.
I had to update to the latest version to watch

no longer working here either. nothing shows up anymore. now getting a no connection error as well. perhaps they blocked it.

Hi, I was experiencing the same problem around a month ago and up to now it's still not working. I thought I was the only one, but apparently not. I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one but at the same time scared cuz that could mean something is wrong with the ver. (;_

I'm running 4.3.1 Beanstalk rom.
I been trying to download BBM messenger off the play store but says its incompatible. I'm wondering if it's the rom that's making it so. I don't wanna wipe phone and go back to default rom just for this app.
If anyone knows a work around please help.

Didn't work for me on CM10.2, on the support site it says it doesn't support custom ROM's, not sure how it worked on DU. I side loaded it and it works fine.

I found a copy of the apk file in the wild, enabled 'install from unknown sources' in the settings (under Security I think?, it's been awhile), and then use a file manager to open the BBM apk from your downloads folder, and then install it. Basically you are bypassing the Play Store, and trusting that the apk you got hasn't been messed with. It's a bit of a leap of faith, and if you download a hacked version that steals all your data, not my fault, so don't cry if it happens.

I got an older version I believe. I think the play store one is v 2.0 something and the one I got is 1.10 but its working fine. Just added bunch of frnds. Chat with one of them and seem legit.
Those version numbers don't jive with what I know. The version I have is 1.0.0.70, latest play store is 1.0.0.72

You can't (well, you can download it, but it won't work), it only supports Android 4.0 and up. Any reason why you haven't upgraded?

Is Kies up to date? If so, check your cable or USB port on your phone (among other things).

Mate DO NOT WORRY!! It's something common that happens to people on Custom ROM... It happened to me when I was in BeanStalk!! What I did was:
1) Download Aptoide
2) Download BBM from Aptoide
And it worked! Trust me. You don't have to uninstall any update from the store or anything like that. Just follow my steps.
